Ooh La La, which is a new-to-me brand, is one of my most delightful recent discoveries. Everything about this brand speaks to me. The creator and CEO is a truly inspirational woman, and her products are healthy, effective and an aromatic delight to use. If you try one new-to-you brand this year, I urge you to make it Ooh La La. 

About Ooh La La,

Beverly R. Perry is the creator and CEO of Ooh La La Skin Care LLC. She graduated from Talladega College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English. She attended and graduated Temple University Beasley School of Law where she excelled in Moot Court receiving the Moot Court Award upon graduation. After passing the Pennsylvania Bar Exam, she worked several years for a Philadelphia Legal Service Plan where she began as a staff attorney and was elevated to the position of Director. She went into private practice for a few years and later worked for Florida A&M University College of Law in Career Planning and Development and then as an Instructor for Academic Success and Bar Preparation.

It was while employed with the Philadelphia Legal Service Plan that she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. After the surgery, chemotherapy treatment, and recovery she was led to create our first product the Body Butter and Moisturizing Cream. According to Beverly, she wanted to use a whole organic product on the largest organ of her body, the skin.This product was for personal use only and it was not until she became an instructor that she realized her purpose.The creation of Ooh La La Skin Care. This soap thoroughly cleans, has a very satisfying creamy lather, and it leaves skin moisturized, but without an oily residue.

BEST SKINCARE REPURCHASES OF 2019

Given that I have a huge collection of skincare products, it is far that I need to replace products since there s always something to replace my empties. However, there are a few products that I love so much that I feel compelled to replace them rather than going without. In 2019, there were only a few products that I loved so much that I replaced them before I even finished them up.

As a huge fan of RODIN Olio Lusso, I was very excited by the prospects of trying the RODIN Olio Lusso Geranium & Orange Blossom Face Oil, and given my penchant for luxury beauty oils, and my unmitigated devotion to RODIN Olio Lusso Jasmine/Neroli Luxury Face Oil (Reviewed HERE) this fetching oil was at the top of my list of must-haves. Interestingly, I love the Geranium and Orange Blossom Face Oil far more than the Jasmine/Neroli Face Oil that I have used for many years! Its aroma is utterly enchanting. It is the perfect balance between the Geranium and the Orange Blossom, and it is neither too sweet, nor too citrusy. Instead, it is deep, rich and warm it reveals a touch of spice. It is hypnotic, delectable and truly divine.

RODIN Olio Lusso Geranium & Orange Blossom Face Oil ($170.00 for 1 oz. and $89.00 for .50 oz. from Nordstrom, Sephora, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Credo Beauty, Revolve and Saks Fifth Avenue): is a lightweight antioxidant-rich, remarkably fast absorbing and ultra nourishing oil. It immediately hydrates even the most parched and dehydrated skin– leaving it baby soft, smooth, supple and seriously luminous. I have noted that it banished a couple of dry patches that I had on my chin, and it has softened the appearance of my light expression lines. It is effective for all types of skin, and has been an extraordinary treat for my normal/combination skin.

Among my favorite TATCHA gems is the entire Indigo Collection. TATCHA Soothing Silk Body Butter is ($48.00 for 6.8 oz. Available from TATCHA and Violet Grey): is a tremendously moisturizing treatment cream that offers even the driest skins great relief.

Kiehl's Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter Revisited

I thought that I would revisit Kiehl's Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter because I have gone though so many bottles of the lotion and jars of the body butter over the years, and felt that it was worth further extolling its virtues. It is an utterly sublime and decadent whipped butter that is fast absorbing and remarkably moisturizing. The whipped texture is delectable, and it melts into warm, damp skin quite quickly leaving skin soft, smooth, supple and hydrated. While I also use it on dry skin, I really love using it after getting out of the bath or shower because the added slip created by damp skin makes it sink in that much quicker, and allows you to use less of the body butter. It has a really delicious scent that is warm, rich and creamy.

According to Kiehl's,

This luxurious whipped body butter with Shea Butter and Jojoba Butter absorbs quickly to nurture and moisturize skin. With rich hydration, this body moisturizer is also infused with Soy Milk and Honey.

Overall Assessment: This definitely is neither my first, nor my last jar of Kiehl's Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter. I have used it for well over a decade, and really love it.

This cold and rainy weather has me more interested in nourishing and hydrating skin and body care products than any other beauty products, and I thought this would be the perfect time to highlight a few of my current favorites. Utama Spice makes beautiful handcrafted natural products in Ubud, Bali that are a treat to the senses and they effectively pamper the skin. It is lightweight, rich and very concentrated– therefore a little bit goes a long way. I like to warm it up in my hands and then massage it into freshly cleansed, and slightly damp skin. Winter Face and Body Moisturizers to Combat Dry Skin

While I do not have dry skin naturally, like many I definitely experience it during the colder months of the year. This year, for some reason, my skin has been more dry than usual– therefore, I thought that I would share a few new-to-me products that have been doing an impressive job maintaining the hydration levels of my skin.

IOPE Super Vital Cream ($100.00 for 1.69 oz. from Aritaum): This is an ultra-rich, and yet exceedingly lightweight and fast absorbing, face cream that has a dreamy velvety texture that melts into the skin immediately. It leaves behind absolutely no residue, despite its serious emollience, and it leaves skin immediately hydrated, soft, smooth and luminous. It does have a light and clean aroma, but it fades quickly.

KORRES Wild Rose Smoothie Brightening Priming Moisturiser ($45.00 from Korres USA, Sephora, Macy's, b-glowing and Dermstore): This ingenious product is an effective priming moisturizer that is, thankfully, silicone-free. It is nourishing, hydrating, very lightweight and it is a very effective makeup base that radically increases the wear-time of your makeup. It is a perfect hydrating base to give your skin extra moisture and protection during the colder months of the year.

Uncle Bud's Body Wash with Hemp Seed Oil ($13.99 for 8 oz. from Amazon): I had never tried anything from this brand before, and didn't know what to expect, but I absolutely fell in love with this body wash the first time that I tried it. It contains Aloe Vera and Hemp Seed Oil that moisturize the skin, and it has a creamy-dreamy lather (especially when used with a body mit or sponge) that is non-drying. Not only does it thoroughly clean and hydrate the skin, but I find it emollient enough that I can shave my legs with it. It has the delectable scent of coconut that makes the whole shower smell delicious.

Uncle Bud's Coconut + Hemp Oil Massage & Body Oil ($12.95 for 4 oz. from Amazon): This can either be used as a massage or body oil, but I have only used it as body oil and can't really comment on its efficacy as a massage oil. It is a very lightweight and fast-absorbing oil that very effectively moisturizes dry skin. I have been using it to moisturize my whole body, but have really noticed the difference in my legs since they have been unusually dry this winter. It is nourishing, healing and ultra-hydrating. It has the delicious scent of coconut, but it is light and therefore not in the least bit overpowering.

Miss Bud's Hemp Body Butter ($13.99 for 4 oz. from Amazon): Of the three Uncle Bud's products that I have been using, and loving, this is the one with which I am the most obsessed. This body butter is ultra-rich and emollient, and seriously moisturizing. Unlike many body butters that are thick and very dense, this one is lighter in weight with an incredibly smooth and velvety texture. It is truly divine! It heals dry and chapped skin effectively and efficiently, and it has a delectable Mango-Mandarin aroma that is uplifting and refreshing.

IMAGE Vital C Hydrating Hand and Body Lotion ($38.00 for 6 oz. from Image Skincare, Amazon and Walmart): This lightweight and fast absorbing hand and body lotion is moisturizing, brightening and has a delectable citrus aroma. It is one of my current favorite moisturizers for my hands and feet, and in fact I love to apply it at night underneath Miss Bud's Hemp Body Butter for impressive results. The following morning my hand and feet are unbelievably soft and moisturized. Add fluffy cotton socks and mitts to seal in the moisture, and you will wake up to baby soft skin.

It is by far my husband's favorite lotion, and in fact the only one that he uses daily. It is unscented, very moisturizing and it is phthalate-free,sSulfate-free, fluoride-free, dye-free and aluminum-free. They also created an Itch-Defense to calm and moisturize dry and itchy skin.
