I just discovered LINA Lightweight Universal Balm, and I am so excited to share it with you. This seriously multipurpose balm can be used on the face, hair and body, but avoid eye contact. It is a very nourishing and emollient balm that is ultra concentrated. Warm a small amount up in clean hands and then massage it into the skin– face and body– as well as the scalp, hair, hands and feet. It melts into the skin and leaves it nourished, moisturized, soothed and calmed. Made with organic ingredients, this vegan balm is crafted in California. It has a faint aroma, which is pleasant and calming, and that is informed by the, "hints of clary sage, intertwined with the soothing essence of chamomile & elegant frangipani." Elina Organics Baikal Crystal Balm is a rich and intensely moisturizing balm that nourishes the skin, and leaves it balanced, calm and restored. It is formulated to soothe and heal inflamed, damaged and bruised skin, and it also works wonders on chapped skin. I like to use it on my face and body, and have found it particularly effective on my dry and chapped hands and cuticles. It can be used in the daytime or nighttime, and while it is rich, it melts into the skin effortlessly. It has no detectable aroma, and therefore it should not be a problem for people with sensitivities to fragrant skincare products.

Erno Laszlo Phormula 3-9 Repair Balm Review

Erno Laszlo Phormula 3-9 Repair Balm is a great product to use when you have irritated skin. If you have a break out, a sunburn, or red and irritated skin that requires something gentle, nourishing and healing, then this mighty balm really helps. It makes this a perfect choice post-peel and post-exfoliation for that very reason. I recently had a bad allergic reaction to a product that I was testing, and it left an irritated patch of skin on my face that was dry, red and peeling, and nothing seemed to help it heal. 

Thankfully, I already had this balm, and while I had little hope that it would help, I decided to try it anyway. Much to my surprise the flaking, peeling, itching, redness and irritation went away after a couple of days of use. It is very concentrated, and only requires a tiny, tiny bit. It is very easy to overdo it and use far more balm than necessary, and therefore I start out with very little and add more as needed. Not only is it calming, but it is also incredibly hydrating and it leaves the skin very soft, smooth and supple. It is definitely a luxury product with a luxury price tag, but it is so concentrated that it will last a very long time. It contains no fragrance, Phthalates, Parabens, Sulfates, Mineral Oil, Urea, or colorants.

I sometimes use it at night because it does such an effective job of hydrating and soothing my skin, and I definitely see a big difference when I wake up the following day. It really is remarkable post-peel and post exfoliation, as well!

BEST SKINCARE REPURCHASES OF 2019

Given that I have a huge collection of skincare products, it is far that I need to replace products since there s always something to replace my empties. However, there are a few products that I love so much that I feel compelled to replace them rather than going without. In 2019, there were only a few products that I loved so much that I replaced them before I even finished them up.

As a huge fan of RODIN Olio Lusso, I was very excited by the prospects of trying the RODIN Olio Lusso Geranium & Orange Blossom Face Oil, and given my penchant for luxury beauty oils, and my unmitigated devotion to RODIN Olio Lusso Jasmine/Neroli Luxury Face Oil (Reviewed HERE) this fetching oil was at the top of my list of must-haves. Interestingly, I love the Geranium and Orange Blossom Face Oil far more than the Jasmine/Neroli Face Oil that I have used for many years! Its aroma is utterly enchanting. It is the perfect balance between the Geranium and the Orange Blossom, and it is neither too sweet, nor too citrusy. Instead, it is deep, rich and warm it reveals a touch of spice. It is hypnotic, delectable and truly divine.

RODIN Olio Lusso Geranium & Orange Blossom Face Oil ($170.00 for 1 oz. and $89.00 for .50 oz. from Nordstrom, Sephora, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Credo Beauty, Revolve and Saks Fifth Avenue): is a lightweight antioxidant-rich, remarkably fast absorbing and ultra nourishing oil. It immediately hydrates even the most parched and dehydrated skin– leaving it baby soft, smooth, supple and seriously luminous. I have noted that it banished a couple of dry patches that I had on my chin, and it has softened the appearance of my light expression lines. It is effective for all types of skin, and has been an extraordinary treat for my normal/combination skin.

Then allow about 5-minutes to dry thoroughly. (Do not add make up until it dries.) Step 4: Wait for the magic!

H is for Love Lip Glacé in Root & Berry (Value: $17.00 for .17 oz): This glossy balm, which is nourishing and ultra-moisturizing, leaves lips soft, silky smooth and supple. It is very emollient, but it clings to the lips without even the slightest hint of stickiness. It has the perfect amount of cushion for comfortable wear, and a single application lasts for several hours. The natural pigments, while intense in the pot and in my swatch, offer a juicy, light wash of red on the lips. There is a very light aroma that is primarily punctuated by the peppermint and vanilla oils, but it fades almost immediately. It is important to note that it is neither in the least bit overpowering, nor is it irritating to the lips– instead it is refreshing and comforting.

Lip Glacé is a universally flattering rose-colored gloss. Its tint is derived from berries, roots and flowers and completely void of mica, iron oxides or mineral pigments. Highly regenerative sea buckthorn CO2 lends a touch of red clay color to the mix. Virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil creates a matte look in the pot, but once warmed by your lips it becomes glossy (glacé!)
