Revisiting an Old Friend: Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks

Five years ago I fell head-over-heels in love with Colbert MD skincare, and while I have loved many other brands since then, I keep returning to this wonderful line of dermatologist created products. From the first moment that I tried the Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks, I was hooked– and that love persists unabated.

One of the key components to healthy luminous skin is the requisite amount of exfoliation. Too little and skin looks dull and listless, too much and skin becomes damaged and traumatized. Ideally, using an effective exfoliator on a weekly basis and judiciously using (and reapplying) an SPF 30 or higher will go a long way to maintaining healthy skin and the highly sought after youthful radiance.

I have regularly used various types of facial exfoliating pads for many years, and have to confess that my experience with Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks was a real game changer for me all of those years ago. While most of the solution soaked exfoliating pads that I have used are thin and double sided, Colbert MD has reimagined its form and instead has opted for a very plush and thick single sided pad. The generously saturated pre-moistened disks include a small tab on the back that makes holding the disk easy, and allows one to maintain effortless control.

The combination of the mild microdermabrasion action from the surface of the pad coupled with the enzyme action of the solution immediately and effectively encourages cell turnover that aids in the promotion of collagen production. Skin, unobstructed by a proliferation of dead skin cells, is then able to effortlessly and effectively absorb skincare products. The end result is unbelievably soft, smooth, supple and luminous skin.

I have used, and loved, Colbert MD skincare for many years now, and yet I somehow neglected to feature Colbert MD Uplift Eye Serum. I have used this serum since about 2015, and I because have repurchased it a few times I thought that I should review it for you.

This is a lightweight and fast absorbing serum that is formulated to reduce puffiness, to treat dark circles, to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and to moisturize the delicate skin in the orbital area of the eyes. It tightens and lifts the skin, without feeling taut or uncomfortable, and it does not leave behind an oily residue that interferes with your eye cream or makeup.

Colbert MD's patented Triad Delivery System effectively and efficiently, "delivers plant extracts to the dermis" and leaves the skin feeling refreshed, soothed and nourished. I apply a tiny bit to the orbital area, in the morning and the night, and then apply my eye cream for added moisture. I definitely see a difference is the texture and appearance of my eyes when I use it, and consider it one of the very best eye serums on the market (which is precisely why I keep purchasing it).

Colbert MD Soothe Night Cream Revisited | Review

If you are seeking an ultra soothing and comforting face cream that is capable of working wonders on very irritated skin, then Colbert MD Soothe Night Cream is definitely worthy of your consideration. I have used this cream for years, and thought that I would revisit this effective nighttime treatment this fall and winter. It addresses a variety of concerns ranging from dry and irritated skin to particularly inflamed and reactive skin (post peel or post microdermabrasion), to Rosacea flareups. 

While my skin is decidedly normal to combination, it can be reactive, and the shift to colder weather can wreak havoc on my skin. When I want extra moisture, and a potent anti-aging night cream that works wonders on inflamed and irritated skin, Colbert MD Soothe Night Cream is one of my favorite moisturizers of choice. It is ultra-soothing, luxuriously rich in moisture, and exceedingly lightweight. It sinks into skin quickly and leaves skin luminous and deeply moisturized. Furthermore, fine lines are plumped and skin is left soft, smooth and supple.

Colbert MD Soothe Night Cream really excels in its considerable ability to combat inflamed, irritated and red skin. Each time that I have a peel or microdermabrasion, my finicky skin can become reactive and red, and Soothe Night Cream eradicates the irritation and redness almost immediately. Additionally, it leaves skin feeling soothed and comforted. While the results are nearly immediate, one really sees a noticeable difference the following morning.

The silky smooth texture of the cream is very emollient and luxurious to the touch, and it truly a decadent treat to use. If you love high quality skincare products that are luxe in every way, then this cream is definitely a worthy contender.

While I do not have Rosacea, a good friend of mine does, and this is her longtime cream of choice. She has been through countless jars, and wouldn't even consider using another night cream because her results are so pronounced. She claims that this cream keeps her Rosacea in check, and that when she uses this cream each night she is able to stave off flareups. I should also note that she uses a very short list of products, and does not experiment with lots of different products, and very seldom does she introduce new products into her skincare routine. She doesn't want to tip the balance that she has found by introducing new products that might cause a flareup.

Colbert MD Illumino Anti-Aging Brightening Mask | Review

There is no question that sheet masks have become wildly popular in the last few years, and they are available for a wide variety of targeted concerns, and at an equally wide range of price points.  It has been my experience that  many of them do little more than just hydrate my skin– which is great– but there are a few that do far more than that, and that is precisely what I experienced with Colbert MD Illumino Anti-Aging Brightening Mask.

Colbert MD Illumino Anti-Aging Brightening Mask is a concentrated Bio Cellulose mask that was conceived to brighten, smooth and hydrate the skin while plumping fine lines, reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation, and by encouraging skin cell turnover. I definitely noticed that my skin had an unprecedented luminosity, that my skin had a pronounced clarity and that fine lines were plumped. I don't have a lot of hyperpigmentation, but I can attest to the fact that this mask gently exfoliates dead skin cells to reveal beautifully glowing skin, and after repeated use it should have no problem reducing the appearance of dark spots.

It is important to note that Colbert MD is exceedingly generous with the amount of serum used in each mask, and that you want to be mindful not to throw away the packet before using all of the serum that pools at the bottom of each pouch.

Whether you want your skin to look red carpet ready, or you just want to pamper yourself– this is a really exceptional quality mask that makes a pronounced difference in the appearance of your skin. To really take the glow to the next level, I like to use Colbert MD Illumino Face Oil (Reviewed HERE) in conjunction with the Illumino Mask, and my skin looks so dewy, refreshed and luminous that one might think that I had a professional peel to get these results.

Overall Assessment: This is unquestionably one of the most effective sheet masks that I have tried, and it does so much more than simply hydrate my skin. If you are looking to try a sheet mask that takes the whole sheet mask experience to the next level, then I highly recommend trying Colbert MD Illumino Anti-Aging Brightening Mask. A+

Colbert MD is an ultra-luxe skincare line that is the creation of critically acclaimed dermatologist, and founder of New York Dermatology Group, Dr. David Colbert. I have been using Dr. Colbert's skincare for many years now, and it steadfastly remains one of my very favorite skincare lines. This carefully edited collection features the highest quality products that boast enviably efficacy, delectable textures, and they are a true joy to use.

Colbert MD Balance Purifying Cleanser is an antioxidant-rich gel-based cleanser that is ultra refreshing, and it neither strips the skin, nor is it left taut and uncomfortable. The gel is itself transformed into a light lather with the introduction of water, and it provides the skin with gentle, mom-irritating exfoliation without any gritty exfoliating particles. Instead, Lactic Acid gently removes dead skin cells, while Ginkgo Biloba purifies the skin and provides natural anti-bacterial benefits. Furthermore, Allantoin, an anti-irritant, protects the skin while Bisabolol soothes and calms the skin.

I use this cleanser one of two ways: I apply it directly to my face and allow it to sit as a mask for a few minuted to allow the Lactic Acid to remove and dissolve dead skin cells, and then I apply warm water and gently massage in a circular motion to my face, neck and décolleté. When I don't need extra exfoliation, I simply apply a modest amount to my hands and activate the light lather before massaging it into my damp face, neck and décolleté. With either method, my skin is left silky-smooth, supple and as soft as a baby's bottom.

If you have experienced the wonders of Colbert MD Illumino Face Oil (Reviewed Here), then you probably found yourself so in love with this beauty oil that you wanted to use it from head to toe, and thankfully Dr. Colbert did create Colbert MD Illumino Body Oil.

According to Dr. David Colbert, "Oils are naturally more gentle than most anti-aging products because they deliver the active ingredients deep into the skin without irritating the surface, and they create a dewy glow that lasts all day."

Oils tend to penetrate the skin deeper than traditional lotions and creams because they are lipophilic which allows them to pass through the lipid layer of the skin unobstructed, and this delivers moisture deeper and prevents water loss while simultaneously plumping the skin. Colbert MD is one of my all-time favorite skincare lines. The products are thoughtfully created by one of the most celebrated dermatologists today, and his long list of celebrities, who have him on speed-dial, will attest to the efficacy of his products and in-office treatments alike.

About David Colbert, M.D.,

Since this serum should be used once a day, on the days that I use the Intensify Facial Disks at night I opt to use Stimulate The Serum in the evenings rather than in the mornings. Colbert MD Nourish Eye Cream | Review

Longtime readers are, no doubt, well aware of my eye cream obsession. This obsession is two-fold: its basis can be found in my genuine love of high quality luxury eye creams on the one hand, and in a deep and abiding interest in finding the best eye creams that do not produce milia, on the other. Rich eye creams filled with mineral oil, petrolatum and other occlusives, which form a physical barrier over the skin to reduce moisture loss, also have the distinction of being comedogenic, and if you are prone to milia in your under eye region these ingredients can be very problematic. That I am prone to milia means that I am an avid label reader, and I have a decided preference for lighter texture eye creams that are fast absorbing, exceedingly hydrating and truly nourishing.

Therefore, it is with this in mind that I find myself absolutely thrilled by my results with Colbert MD Nourish Eye Cream. Not only does it meet my criteria as a lightweight, fast absorbing, deeply hydrating and nourishing eye cream, but it is also feels refreshing and very soothing, and it leaves behind no greasy film. It has the most satisfying light texture, that almost feels whipped, and yet it imparts more than enough moisture. It is also fragrance-free– therefore people with sensitive eyes, like me, can use it without concern of irritation.

Nourish Eye Cream also treats my periodic dark circles, reduces puffiness and softens the appearance of fine lines. Furthermore, it leaves the delicate skin under my eyes unmistakably soft, supple, lifted, even in tone and luminous. My skin has a healthy glow whenever I use this eye cream, and it serves as a fantastic base for any concealer that I may use. I suppose your real question is whether or not Nourish Eye Cream has ever given me milia, and my answer is a resounding no!

Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks | Review

One of the key components to healthy luminous skin is the requisite amount of exfoliation. Too little and skin looks dull and listless, too much and skin becomes damaged and traumatized. Ideally, using an effective exfoliator on a weekly basis and judiciously using (and reapplying) an SPF 30 or higher will go a long way to maintaining healthy skin and the highly sought after youthful radiance.

I have regularly used various types of facial exfoliating pads for quite some time, and have to confess that my experience with Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks was a real game changer for me. While most of the solution soaked exfoliating pads that I have used are thin and double sided, Colbert MD has broken this mold and instead opted for a very plush and thick single sided pad. The generously saturated pre-moistened disks include a small tab on the back that makes holding the disk easy, and allows one to maintain effortless control.

The combination of the mild microdermabrasion action from the surface of the pad coupled with the enzyme action of the solution immediately and effectively encourages cell turnover that aids in the promotion of collagen production. Skin, unobstructed by a proliferation of dead skin cells, is then able to effortlessly and effectively absorb skincare products. The end result is unbelievably soft, smooth, supple and luminous skin.

STEP-BY-STEP:

Prep:

8. Used a small amount of Brazilian Blowout Acai Daily Smoothing Serum. Dried hair in 2 inch sections and set in Velcro rollers. Removed the rollers, and used a 1.75 inch barrel curling iron to add a bit more curl. "Even the sleekest need to be curled first for a more "finished" look."

9. Next, brushed through hair to relax the curl. Used Brazilian Blowout Acai Restorative Sculpt & Define Polish to slick hair back into an imperfect bun, maintaing a modern and youthful look. Left some pieces out in the front to create a long, sexy, swooping bang that can be left out or tucked behind her ear.
