I am a little surprised that I was able to finish up so many largely used up products in July, and I am so satisfied knowing that I was able to recycle so many bottles and jars. I thoroughly enjoyed using each and every product, and feel satisfied knowing that they didn't turn before I had the chance to finish them. I used up products that I really liked a lot, rather than products that I found mediocre just to finish them, but since I have so many remaining products to use before I make any new purchases, it is unlikely that I will replace any of these items in the near future.

VENeffect Anti-Aging Intensive Moisturizer ($185.00 for 1.7 oz. from VENeffect): is an extremely hydrating, yet incredibly lightweight and fast absorbing facial cream. It has a silky-smooth ultra luxurious texture that is rich enough to impart high levels of moisture, but it is also non-comedogenic and works beautifully on my normal to combination skin without ever causing any breakouts. Purchase Again? I would definitely consider it, but I will not need to invest in another face cream for a very long time!

Herbivore Phoenix Facial Oil ($88.00 for 1.7 oz. from Nordstrom, Credo Beauty, Sephora, Dermstore and Revolve): Formulated for mature and sensitive skin, this delectable lightweight and fast absorbing skin effortlessly melts into the skin and immediately hydrates, calms and nourishes  the skin. Skin feels indescribably soft, smooth, moisturized and pampered. It is a wonderful soothing and calming elixir for irritable and inflamed skin, and is a wonderful post-peel choice to help heal the skin. This antioxidant-rich formula, which uses Jojoba Oil as its carrier oil, offers deep moisture without any residual greasiness, but instead leaves the skin with a distinct luminous glow. After prolonged use, it softens the appearance of fine lines and helps to heal and repair damaged tissue. It has a lovely light rose aroma that is a treat to the senses. Purchase Again? I will definitely consider it, but I have lots of open face oils that I need to use before they go bad.

Tata Harper Beautifying Facial Oil (This seems to have been discontinued): This is a very lightweight and fast absorbing nourishing oil that leaves skin very soft, smooth, supple, luminous and hydrated. I apply it to slightly damp, freshly washed skin, and I often add another drop or two to my foundation for a dewy finish, and the benefits are immediately seen. It has a warm aroma from the essential oils blend, but I find that it fades soon upon absorption. Purchase Again if I could? I would, but it appears to have been discontinued.

Vichy Mineral 89 ($29.50 for 1.69 oz. from Ulta, Amazon, Dermstore and Walgreens): is described as a "new generation face moisturizer." It features 89% of Vichy's iconic Mineralizing Thermal Water that is further enhanced by Hyaluronic Acid to deeply boost hydration and fortify the skin. The consistency is that of a lightweight gel-like serum that sinks into the skin immediately leaving it hydrated with a luminous, ethereal glow. Dehydrated and dull skin gives way to comfortable, refreshed and moisturized skin without any greasy residue or stickiness. Furthermore, this fragrance-free moisturizer plumps fine lines, nourishes the skin and leaves skin soft, smooth and supple. It offers my normal/combination skin enough moisture and hydration during the warmer months that I can forgo a regular moisturizer altogether, and it pairs beautifully with my favorite serums and face oils, but during the rest of the year I layer it with richer moisturizers. Purchase Again? More than likely, but I have lots of open products to use first.

Rodin Olio Lusso Facial Cleansing Powder (This product is no longer avalable, and Estee Lauder has discontinued the brand): is a wonderful cleansing powder that effectively, and thoroughly, cleans the skin without ever stripping it. It is formulated so that one can customize their cleansing routine based upon the needs of the skin and personal preference. For instance, if one seeks an exfoliating cleanser, then simply add less water to preserve the granular texture which lends itself to efficient exfoliation. If, instead, one prefers a creamier consistency, then simply add more water and mix for a smooth texture. Once water is introduced, a lovely creamy lather, punctuated by the aroma of jasmine oil, soothes the skin and the senses. Skin is left silky smooth, thoroughly cleansed and lightly hydrated. Purchase again, if I could? I definitely would, and I am very sad that Linda Rodin's beautiful products have all been discontinued, and the brand is no longer.

Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator ($34.00 for 4.23 oz. from Vasanti and Amazon): This is gentle, effective, non-stripping, and it has enough fine grit that it feels like an at-home microdermabrasion treatment. There is an abundance of fine, and uniform, exfoliating particles that do not leave my skin feeling irritated or scratched up. Instead, my skin is left incredibly soft, silky-smooth and luminous. The results are immediate, and after a single use this became one of my favorite exfoliants because of its efficacy. I should note that it has no discernible aroma, and therefore it should not bother people who avoid skincare products that are fragranced. Purchase Again? Probably not because it will be a long time before I need a new exfoliant. I did, however, love using this exfoliant!

Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil ($48.00 for 5 oz. from Tatcha, Sephora and Violet Grey): This cleansing oil is a true thing of beauty. The consistency is very light in weight, and is closer to the fluidity of water than one expects from an oil. It isn't too runny, but remains more fluid than viscous. In fact, I would suggest that for a cleansing oil it has the perfect consistency that lends itself to emulsifying beautifully.

It is a colorless (clear) oil that has a remarkably pleasant scent that resides somewhere between an herbal and a floral, but it is light and unassuming. The texture itself is sublime- it is a smooth silky elixir that feels simply amazing on the skin.

It is quite concentrated- you simply apply a small amount to your face, massage it in and then add water. Once water is introduced, and it begins to emulsify, the oil turns into a milky white magical potion. Not only is it unbelievably gentle on the skin, but it is likewise unbelievably effective at removing every single trace of makeup- including the most stubborn waterproof makeup. In order to remove every trace of makeup, I tend to use a Q-Tip to remove the last bits of makeup from my lash line, but I have not found it necessary to use an additional eye makeup remover. Purchase Again? I have at least 6 full-sized cleansing oils to use, and several deluxe samples of this to use first, but I would definitely repurchase this once I need another cleansing oil.

Lumene Sisu Defend & Replenish Antioxidant Mist ($14.99 for 3.4 oz. from Amazon): This refreshing and hydrating antioxidant mist can be used any time of the day when your skin needs a little boost, but it can also be used to set your makeup. I prefer to store it in the refrigerator when I use it during the warmer weather because it gives the skin such relief during the summer. It leaves skin hydrated, soft, smooth and luminous. It has a light fruity aroma, but it is very pleasant and it isn't long-lasting. Purchase Again? At some point when I don't have so many like-products, but this one was definitely a joy to use.

Derma E UPLIFT Skin Beneficial Mist ($18.95 for 1 oz. from Derma E): is a gorgeous blend of citrus tempered by chamomile and lavender, and the end result is a slightly spicy citrus that is as uplifting and invigorating as the name suggests! It awakens the senses and it smells utterly delectable. Purchase Again? Maybe when I finish up my back up bottle of Create.

Derma E CALM Skin Beneficial Mist ($18.95 for 1 oz. from Derma E): is a very relaxing and calming blend of  Lemon, Eucalyptus, Sage and Rosemary, and a single deep breath of this essence slows a busy mind, calms a tense body and leaves the spirit soothed. Purchase Again? I will definitely consider purchasing this one again once I finish my last bottle of Create.

Derma E CREATE Skin Beneficial Mist ($18.95-$18.99 for 1 oz. from Derma E): is a wonderfully refreshing and stimulating blend of Rosemary, Ginger, Spearmint– an inspiring amalgam of essential oils that are a pleasure to the senses. A touch of Cardamom, which helps promote focus and clarity, comes through in the base notes, and it adds a touch of spice to this beautiful blend. Purchase Again? I just opened a new bottle! 

Baylis & Harding Oud, Cedar & Amber Natural Hand Soap ($5.99 for 16.9 oz. from Target): is a rich, creamy and warm blend that is so luxe that it is hard to believe that it could be as affordable as it actually is. It is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Purchase Again? Without question! This is amazing hand soap from an extraordinary brand! A+

Spongellé Hand Defense Hand Wash Infused Buffer ($14.00 each or $56.00 for a 4-pack from Spongellé): This is a wonderful new addition to the Spongellé line, and this launch offers a perfect way to thoroughly wash hands during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, you won't mind how often that you need to wash your hands given that these soap infused sponges thoroughly clean and exfoliate, plus they get into every hard to reach spot. Additionally, they don't strip the skin, but instead they leave it hydrated, soft and smooth. The four available scents are delicious, and the creamy lather is incredibly satisfying to the touch. Spongellé suggests that each sponge offers 40+ washes, but I always find that I get more washes out of all of their products than they suggest. Purchase Again? I still have one left!

Spongellé Let's Celebrate Butterfly Holiday Gift Set ($20.00 for a set of 2 from Spongellé): I have such love for Spongellé Body Buffers, they are so easy and convenient to use, they are incredibly effective, and they smell delicious! You simply dampen the Spongellé Body Wash Infused Buffers with water to activate the lather to effortlessly clean and exfoliate the skin. Each gift set sponge is filled with enough body wash for a minimum of 5+ washes, but I am able to get closer to 10 washes per sponge. 

Once you have used up all of the body wash, the sponge itself is still quite intact, and therefore all you need to do is use it in conjunction with your favorite liquid or bar soaps. The hanging ribbon allows the buffer to dry out easily, but I recommend hanging it outside of the moist environment of the shower to avoid bacterial growth.

These sponges not only effectively remove dead skin cells, but they also leave the skin deliciously baby soft, smooth, supple and moisturized.  Body wash infused body buffers are such a treat to use, and the Spongellé Body Wash Infused Buffers really excel in their ability to clean and exfoliate the skin while delighting the senses with their delightful aromas. Purchase Again? I still have one left from this fantastic set!

Revitalash Thickening Shampoo ($36.00 for 8.5 oz. from Revitalash and Amazon): When I wash my hair with this shampoo, and after I massage it into my scalp and work it though the length of my hair, I allow it to sit for a few minutes to optimize its efficacy. When I rinse it out, I immediately note that my hair is clean, but not stripped. Purchase Again? I have lots of shampoo to use before buying any more.

Revitalash Thickening Conditioner ($37.00 for 8.5 oz. from Revitalash and Amazon): This wonderfully nourishing, and ultra-hydrating, conditioner leaves my scalp comfortable, my hair shiny and silky-smooth, and in conjunction with their shampoo there is decidedly less hair in the drain of my shower. My hair has more volume, it feels thicker and it is definitely more hydrated, manageable and healthy. Purchase Again? Not likely, simply because I have a ridiculous number of bottles of conditioner to use up first. However, this is really good conditioner, and I was sad when I finished the bottle!

Tom Ford Cheek Color in Frantic Pink ($67.00 from Nordstrom): Frantic Pink (discussed here and here) is a pinky peach shade with warm multicolor pearl, and it was my favorite go-to daily blush for a very long time. I think that the color and formula changed slightly, and it looks as though most places are sold out– therefore, I am not sure if they are out of stock or if something new is replacing it. I still have a couple of Tom Ford Cheek Color compacts left, in other colors, but I really did love this blush and used every last bit. Purchase Again? Probably not because I have lots of blushes to use, and I am gravitating toward other brands these days.This was one gorgeous blush!

Overall Assessment: There you have it! I am extremely happy that I was able to finish up this many products in July. I should say, however, that it is less impressive than it seems because they were all nearly empty to begin with. Nonetheless, I managed to finish them up and recycle or repurpose their containers. What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in July? Do tell!

If working from home during the pandemic has taught me one thing about my product use, it is that I prefer to use the things that I really love, and that I use them with abandon. It is an indulgence that helps mitigate all of the stress associated with this difficult time. I have also been making a greater effort to use up the things I really love before they go bad. Here is what I used up in April:

African Botanics Pure Marula Cleansing Oil ($60.00 for 3.4 oz. from African Botanics, Net-A-Porter, Revolve and Credo Beauty): This lightweight oil is an antioxidant and omega-rich oil that was formulated to gently cleanse and purify even the most sensitive skin types while removing makeup, dead skin cells as well as pollution and other impurities. It is so gentle and effective that it neither dehydrates the skin, nor causes irritation. It is suitable for combination, sensitive and dry skin types. Repurchase? I already opened a deluxe travel size! 

Suki Sensitive Cleansing Bar ($10.00 for 4 oz. from the Official Suki Amazon Store and Suki. Set for $37.00 from the Official Suki Amazon Store): This is a fantastic cleansing bar that is formulated for use on the face or the body, and it is vegan and filled with healthy high quality ingredients. Sensitive Cleansing Bar is an extraordinarily gentle French-milled soap that is both moisturizing and pleasant to use. It forms a rich and creamy-dreamy lather, it never strips the skin and it has luscious lemongrass aroma that is positively intoxicating.

You can apply it directly to the skin, or you can use a loofah, wash cloth or sponge to the body. For the face it can be used directly on the skin, or with your favorite cleansing device. It leaves skin clean, silky smooth and moisturized. I also found that it does an amazing job as a shaving cream for my underarms and legs, and the creamy and emollient lather feels amazing against the skin. Purchase Again? Absolutely!

Malin+Goetz Peppermint Body Scrub ($35.00 for 7.5 oz. from Malin+Goetz, Space NK, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's): This is one of my all-time favorite body scrubs for so many reasons! Among them is the fact that it boasts a foaming gel formula that is gentle and non-stripping, and yet it effectively removes dead skin cells, and reveals silky soft and ultra smooth skin. It also has no greasy residue that requires additional washing, and the peppermint aroma is seriously exhilarating without being overdone. This is a truly amazing body scrub, and I highly recommend it! Purchase Again? Definitely the next time I need another body scrub!

Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment ($85.00-$175.00 from Nordstrom, Sephora and Neiman Marcus): Kate Somerville's Exfolikate is a seriously powerful exfoliating treatment, it is so effective (and potent) that you only need to leave it on your face for 30 seconds and voilà your skin is smooth and bright, and your pores are deeply cleaned. It is like getting a super effective 30 second facial. I like to apply mine in the shower about 2 times a week to keep my skin in tip top shape. If you have very sensitive skin then this is likely to be too strong, if not irritating, for you. For those with sensitive skin try Exfolikate Gentle instead- you will find it far more gentle. I have tried both and prefer the strength of Exfolikate. This definitely tingles and you may find that your face becomes a bit red after use, but that usually subsides after a few minutes. However, if you find it unpleasant or uncomfortable that is a good indication that the formula is too active for your skin. Purchase Again? I will definitely make the splurge before too long!

LANCÔME Paris Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover ($15.00 for 1.7oz, $30.00 for 4.2 oz. and $40.00 for 6.7 oz. from LANCÔME, Nordstrom, Sephora, Ulta, Bloomingdale's and Macy's): This is an ultra-gentle and emollient bi-phase makeup remover that is formulated with the perfect balance between the water and the oils used. It effectively removes every single trace of makeup without tugging– including waterproof varieties– and it doesn't need to be rinsed off. It nourishes the delicate skin around the eyes as well as the lashes, and it is suitable for people with sensitive eyes and skin. It has no detectable aroma, and it can also be used to remove even the most tenacious matte lipsticks, and it does so with ease. This has been my favorites eye makeup remover for years, and I have yet to find one that comes close, by comparison. Purchase Again? I just opened a full-size bottle. I love this so much!

 

Erno Laszlo Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask ($38.00 for 6 masks from Erno Laszlo, Nordstrom, SkinStore, LOOKFANTASTIC, Violet Grey and Saks Fifth Avenue): I received mine as a gift with purchase, and I am so glad that I did because I wouldn't have likely tried them otherwise. Described as a multitasking eye mask infused in a serum of Vitamin B3, Algae Extract and Amino Acids, this mask promises to soften the appearance of dark circles, reduce under eye puffiness and soften the appearance of fine lines. In addition to those wonderful attributes, I also found that this eye mask refreshed my skin and left it soft, smooth, hydrated and radiant. I am very pleased with the results, and am thrilled that this wonderful gel mask made its way into my over-Zoomed life! Purchase Again? Oh yes, these are incredible!

VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment ($85.00 for 0.34 oz./10ml. from VENeffect and Space NK): When your lip balm obsession has reached a fever pitch, and you seek a powerhouse antioxidant rich anti-aging lip product that is less a balm and more of a cream-based treatment, then it is time to enter the fold of VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment. The consistency of this elegant treatment feels more like a lightweight eye cream than a balm, but it works faster and more effectively than a balm. It sinks into the lips and the surrounding skin quickly leaving behind a thin veil of moisture. It imparts immediate hydration while it gently plumps and smooths the skin. Additionally, if you have vertical lines around your lips, into which lipsticks bleed, it is worthy to note that VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment  is formulated to soften, reduce and plump them. Furthermore, this potent little pot serves as a wonderful lipstick base that enhances the longevity of of wear-time and prevents lipstick from bleeding. Purchase Again? This is my second little pot, and there is another one in my future at some point.

LEPAAR Velvet Sole Lip Balm ($15.00 for 0.17 oz. from Boxwalla and Credo Beauty): This lightweight, highly emollient, nourishing and hydrating lip and face balm is perfectly suited to the cold weather, and it is an absolute chapped lip savior. You really only need a tiny bit of this concentrated balm for great results. It boasts exfoliating properties because it is infused with ground pink Himalayan salt and papaya seed oil, but it isn't in the least bit gritty, drying or irritating. Calendula extract and olive oil help heal dry chapped skin– leaving them soft, supple and moisturized. This also makes a wonderful lipstick base– particularly when used in conjunction with drying matte formulas, but it must be used very sparingly so as not to change the finish of the lip product. Purchase Again? Yes!

Godai Soaps $8.95 for Single Godai Soaps (4 oz.): I am a huge fan of Godai Soaps, and will definitely purchase more once I use up some of my bar soaps.

GODAI SOAP FIRE 火 (REJUVENATING BAR SOAP): "Fire is known as the transformative element, and Godai’s 火 Fire Bar Soap & Shampoo provide rejuvenation with a mixture of rosemary oil, lemon oil, and avocado oil to energize tired and dull skin for more brightness and vitality." This soap has such a magical aroma the rosemary adds some depth while the lemon and a bright and cheerful zest, and it is at once uplifting and fresh. Ingredients: click here. Purchase Again? Yes!

GODAI SOAP EARTH 地 (CLEANSING BAR SOAP. UNSCENTED): "Earth acts as the base element upon which all rests, and Godai’s 地 Earth Bar Soap & Shampoo represent this element by combining ingredients such as French clay and organic sugar, gently yet deeply cleansing to provide a foundation for healthy, glowing skin." If aromatic infusions aren't for you, then this unscented soap will appeal to you. Ingredients: click here. Purchase Again? Definitely!

GODAI SOAP WIND 風 (NOURISHING BAR SOAP): "Wind represents the breath of life, and Godai’s 風 Wind Bar Soap & Shampoo emulates this element by using a combination of nourishing and brightening ingredients such as rice bran oil, turmeric, and barley grass powder by removing impurities from your skin and hair while moisturizing." This nourishing bar has a delectable lightly spicy green aroma– the turmeric spices up the barley grass, which in turn tempers the spice with its fresh green sensibility. Ingredients: click here. Purchase Again? I most certainly will.

Nubian Heritage Olive Oil & Green Tea Body Wash: This all-purpose cleanser is non-stripping, gentle and hydrating, and is suitable for all types of skin. It forms a creamy rich lather that releases the delightful scent of olive oil and green tea, and together they provide a wonderfully refreshing shower or bath experience. Purchase Again? I would, but I think that this product has been discontinued!

REN Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil ($48.00 for 4.08 oz. from REN, Sephora and Net-A-Porter): This beautifully fragranced bath oil hydrates and nourishes the skin while enveloping and enrapturing the senses. It leaves the skin soft, supple, luminous and exceedingly hydrated. This is one of the very best bath oils that I have ever used, and it offers the perfect way to unwind after a stressful day. Purchase Again? Another bottle is definitely in my future at some point.

Kneipp Almond Blossom Body Wash ($14.00 for 6.76 oz. from Kneipp, Kneipp's Official Amazon Store): As I was digging around in my cabinet I discovered that I had to open tubes of this miraculous body wash that somehow got forgotten. Between the two tubes I had enough left for almost two weeks worth of joyous showers! Almond Blossom is one of my favorite Kneipp fragrances, and I covet anything from their range of products that features this delectable fragrance. It is a subtle and warm floral that is a treat to the senses. Furthermore, this hydrating body wash thoroughly cleans the skin without stripping or drying it. The creamy, emollient lather is perfect for shaving your legs as well. Purchase Again? YES!

By Terry Baume de Rose Hand Cream ($50.00 for 75 grams or 2.62 oz. from By Terry, Space NK, Dermstore, Bluemercury, Amazon, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's): If you love high quality delectable rose scented body products, then be prepared to fall madly in love! This is an ultra-luxe, very moisturizing hand cream with the most refined and elegant rose aroma. It has done wonders for my over-washed and over-sanitized hands and cuticles, and it leaves my skin soft, smooth, supple and a little bit luminous. While it is thick and emollient, it is fast absorbing and leaves behind no greasy residue, whatsoever. However, the delectable veil of fragrance is so hypnotic and delightful that I simply can't stop using this treasure! Purchase Again? I love this hand cream madly, but I will have to wait to splurge. I have several tubes of hand cream to use first.

Shu Uemura Blow Dry Beautifier Thermo BB Serum ($39.00 for 5 oz. from Shu Uemura The Art of Hair): This BB Serum is formulated to moisturize the hair without leaving it feeling heavy or weighed down, while smoothing and softening the hair to make it more manageable. It also protects the hair from blow drying and works wonders on fine to medium coarse hair. Purchase Again? If I do not have another bottle, I will definitely buy another.

COCOFLOSS ($9.00 each. Available at Sephora, Credo Beauty and goop): Cocofloss is a very effective dental floss that deeply cleans teeth and is gentle and soothing on the gums. It actually makes flossing something that I look forward to, and it is available in 4 coconut infused flavors: Delicious Mint, Pure Strawberries, Fresh Coconut and Cara Cara Orange. Purchase Again? I just opened another one, and I will definitely purchase more after I finish what I have.

Overall Assessment: As you can clearly see, I am definitely making a concerted effort to use up lots of mostly used products before they go bad. It not only makes me feel good not being wasteful, but it perfectly aligns with my interest in living more sustainably. What have you used up, tossed out, given away or returned in April. March 2021 Skin, Body and Hair Product Empties Galore

It is safe to say, that one of things that I have learned about working from home during the pandemic is that I am really motivated to use up open products before they expire, or start to spoil. I actually surprised myself in March because I did better than I expected. I hope that I am able to finish up as many opened products in April, but I am not sure that will happen unless I find lots of nearly finished open products.

African Botanics Neroli Infused Marula Oil ($120.00 for 1 oz from African Botanics, Dermstore, Credo Beauty, Bluemercury and Net-A-Porter): Neroli Infused Marula Oil is a lovely fast absorbing and deeply nourishing lightweight oil that smells divine, and imparts an unbelievable healthy glow. African Botanics Neroli Infused Marula Oil remains one of my all-time favorite oils because it keeps my skin perfectly balanced, deeply nourished and moisturized, and with an unbelievable luminosity and clarity. It is so nourishing and moisturizing, in fact, that I have been able to forgo an added moisturizing cream at night. I have even used this as my sole moisturizer during the day and my skin looked and felt amazing. I have even been adding a few drops to my foundations and tinted moisturizers and it most definitely enhances their effects. Purchase Again? This is an old bottle that I had nearly finished while I had a nw bottle already open. Thankfully the last bits were still good so I finished it up! This is one of my all-time favorite luxury face oils.

African Botanics Rose Treatment Essence ($160.00 for 1.7 oz./50 ml.from African Botanics, Credo Beauty and Net-A-Porter): is a truly unique multipurpose treatment gel that transforms from a gel into a aromatic Rosa Centifolia infused liquid that immediately melts into the skin. Formulated to tone, temporarily diminish the appearance of enlarged pores, hydrate, brighten, detoxify and refine the skin– this magical vitamin and mineral infused antioxidant-rich, anti-inflammatory elixir is nourishing, moisturizing, refreshing, healing and calming. African Botanics Marula Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum ($160.00 for 1 oz./30ml. from African Botanics, Credo Beauty and Cult Beauty): The lightweight, and fast absorbing, gel-like serum is filled with an array of healthy, antioxidant-rich botanicals, highly effective Swiss Garden Cress Liposomes and Peptides, Retinol, Resveratrol and Green Sea Algae– to name but a few of their potent, carefully selected ingredients. This serum increases collagen synthesis, accelerates skin cell-turnover, plumps and reduces the appearance of fine lines, improves elasticity and tone, deeply nourishes and hydrates skin and it reveals luminous, youthful skin. 

My skin appears refreshed, luminous, even in texture and skin-tone, lifted and ultra-hydrated. I simply massage a small amount into my face, neck, décolleté and under eye area and go to sleep, and when I awaken my skin appears as though I had a serious rejuvenating, anti-aging facial and peel. Tatcha The Indigo Cream ($85.00 for 1.7 oz. from TATCHA, Sephora and Violet Grey): If you have ultra sensitive skin, Eczema, or Rosacea, and you seek a highly effective anti-aging cream that will soothe, rather than further irritate your skin, then TATCHA has created the perfect cream to calm, heal and lift your skin. This healing cream made with Japanese Indigo and 3% Colloidal Oatmeal– both of which are highly effective ingredients that soothe, calm and comfort irritated and volatile skin. Furthermore, the ingredients chosen are highly effective for nourishing and moisturizing while simultaneously lifting and firming the skin. While I neither have eczema, nor rosacea– my skin can become sensitive and irritated at times. Periodically, while testing out new products, my skin becomes irritated and reactive, and one of the hallmarks of this type of skin eruption is the appearance of product related dermatitis. When this occurs I develop unsightly (at least to me) small patches of dry skin that peel and flake. While this is a good barometer for products, or ingredients, to avoid it is unpleasant and difficult to treat– particularly if you want to avoid pharmaceutical medicines, as do I. This cream immediately leaves irritated skin soothed, calmed and comfortable. Purchase Again? I just opened another jar!

Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil ($9.80-$96.00 for 1.69 oz to 15.22 oz. Shu Uemura USA): This ultra-luxe rich and emollient cleansing oil has a luscious lightweight consistency that leaves skin soft, smooth, supple and luxuriously hydrated. While it can be used by all skin types, I suspect that it will be coveted by people with normal to dry skin. When water is introduced, this cleansing oil also transforms into a rich and creamy milky emulsion that gently removes every trace of dirt and makeup without ever stripping the skin, and it leaves skin velvety soft and smooth without leaving behind a greasy residue. It has a warm and creamy aroma that I find intoxicatingly delicious. Purchase Again? Not in the near future, because I have numerous cleansing oils to use first.

Origins Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil ($32.00 for 6.7 oz. from Origins,  Macy's, Amazon, John Lewis and Selfridges (Affiliate Links).not only highly effective, but as the name suggests it is also very gentle, and is even perfectly suited for sensitive skin types. Furthermore, it is exceedingly pleasant to use, and the mild herbal and citrus scent is lovely, but is neither overpowering, nor is it pungent. In fact, the scent fades so quickly that it becomes barely detectable. The oil, itself, is lightweight and easy to use. After massaging it into dry skin, simply add a touch of warm water to your hands and the oil quickly transforms into a milky emulsion that removes every trace of makeup and dirt, and it washes away completely leaving behind no oily residue. Skin is left scrumptiously soft, supple and moisturized. Purchase Again? Definitely.

Colbert MD Tone Control Facial Disks ($80.00 for 20 disks from Dermstore and Olivela): Most of the solution soaked exfoliating pads that I have used are thin and double sided, Colbert MD has broken this mold by opting for a very plush and thick single-sided pad. The generously saturated pre-moistened disks include a small tab on the back that makes holding them very easy, and it allows one to maintain effortless control. While I thought that I had achieved exfoliating pad nirvana with the Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks, I discovered that Colbert MD Tone Control Facial Disks are a whole different level of paradigm shifting exfoliating pads. Not only do these pre-moistened disks provide effective, and gentle, microdermabrasion from the surface texture of the pad, but they also encourage cell turnover that aids in the promotion of collagen production. Skin, unobstructed by a proliferation of dead skin cells, is then able to effortlessly and effectively absorb skincare products. The end result is unbelievably silky soft, smooth, supple and luminous skin. Additionally, Colbert MD Tone Control Facial Disks are saturated with ingredients that even out skin tone, lighten dark spots (hyperpigmentation), soothe redness and brighten the complexion. Repurchase? I have an unopened box ready to go!

Erno Laszlo Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask ($38.00 for 6 masks from Erno Laszlo, Nordstrom, SkinStore, LOOKFANTASTIC, Violet Grey and Saks Fifth Avenue): I received mine as a gift with purchase, and I am so glad that I did because I wouldn't have likely tried them otherwise. Described as a multitasking eye mask infused in a serum of Vitamin B3, Algae Extract and Amino Acids, this mask promises to soften the appearance of dark circles, reduce under eye puffiness and soften the appearance of fine lines. In addition to those wonderful attributes, I also found that this eye mask refreshed my skin and left it soft, smooth, hydrated and radiant. I am very pleased with the results, and am thrilled that this wonderful gel mask made its way into my over-Zoomed life! Purchase Again? I have another pack of two sets that I am about to use. I definitely like these enough to purchase more!

Sisley Paris Sisleya Eye and Lip Contour Cream ($225.00 for 0.50 oz. from Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Selfridges, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Violet Grey, Liberty London,  and Harrods): The cream, which is touted as an effective anti-aging product, is formulated to treat the delicate areas around the eyes and mouth, and this immediately appealed to me because of its claims to soften the appearance of fine lines, to reduce under eye puffiness and its ability to treat dark circles.

I have some fine lines, but it was really the need to treat dark circles and under eye puffiness that I have sought to treat. While I would neither characterize my dark circles and under eye puffiness as extreme, by any means, they both occur whenever I don't get enough sleep (which is quite often). I work very long hours, sit in Los Angeles traffic commuting for what seems like incalculable amounts of time on a daily basis, and often continue to work when I finally return home. The outcome is that I often don't get enough sleep, and when that happens I often wake up with dark circles and under eye puffiness, and therefore this eye cream and this Ridoki Massage Applicator Massage Tool seemed like a justifiable expense to me. Purchase Again? Maybe, but I have lots of other lip products to use first.

VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment ($85.00 for 0.34 oz./10ml. from VENeffect and Space NK): When your lip balm obsession has reached a fever pitch, and you seek a powerhouse antioxidant rich anti-aging lip product that is less a balm and more of a cream-based treatment, then it is time to enter the fold of VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment. The consistency of this elegant treatment feels more like a lightweight eye cream than a balm, but it works faster and more effectively than a balm. It sinks into the lips and the surrounding skin quickly leaving behind a thin veil of moisture. It imparts immediate hydration while it gently plumps and smooths the skin. Additionally, if you have vertical lines around your lips, into which lipsticks bleed, it is worthy to note that VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment  is formulated to soften, reduce and plump them. Furthermore, this potent little pot serves as a wonderful lipstick base that enhances the longevity of of wear-time and prevents lipstick from bleeding. Purchase Again? I have another little pot in use already!

By Terry Baume de Rose Lip Balm ($60.00 for oz. from Bloomingdales, Space NK, Nordstrom, Violet Grey, Dermstore and Cult Beauty): I love this lip balm and it does wonders for my lips when they are very chapped. Baume de Rose has a rather thick consistency that thoroughly coats the lips without feeling heavy or uncomfortable. It is not sticky in the least bit, and has the perfect amount of cushion. It has the quintessential By Terry rose scent, which I find delightful, but may be problematic to those who avoid scented lip products. I often use it at night and when I wake up my lips feel like velvet. Purchase Again? I have a full size pot open already.

GODAI SOAP SKY 空 (CALMING BAR SOAP) $8.95 for Single Godai Soaps (4 oz.): "The Sky, or void, element represents a higher conscious state of peace and calm, and Godai’s 空 Sky Bar Soap & Shampoo draws from this element with a calming blend of lavender oil, eucalyptus, and orange oil to soothe irritation by reducing inflammation and dryness." One might think that the combination of lavender, eucalyptus and orange might be too sharp and assertive, and yet this blend is smooth, warm and comforting. Purchase Again?: I have a few more of their bars that I am currently using.

GODAI SOAP WATER 水 (MOISTURIZING BAR SOAP) $8.95 for Single Godai Soaps (4 oz.): "Water is the element that is necessary to all life on Earth, and Godai’s 水 Water Bar Soap & Shampoo mirror this element through a hydrating mix of organic cocoa butter, shea butter, and white clay to provide a smoother, healthier complexion." The sweet orange, tangerine and ylang ylang oils create a rich, smooth, and creamy aroma that is punctuated by the citrus notes that are neither too assertive, nor in the least bit cloying. Purchase Again? I have a few more of their bars that I am currently using.

Sibu Sea Berry Therapy Cleansing Face & Body Bar ($7.95 for a 3.5 oz. bar from Sibu and Amazon): This hydrating face and body bar puts forth a rich and creamy lather, and yet it is not in the least bit stripping to the skin. It also works wonders for shaving legs and underarms because of its delectable lather, and its intoxicating citrus aroma is uplifting and invigorating. Purchase Again? I liked this soap a lot, but I have too many bars of soap to purchase any for the foreseeable future!

Baylis & Harding Lemongrass & Ginger Hand Wash ($5.99 for 16.9 oz. from Target). I have said it before, and it bears repeating, that during the pandemic this much hand washing is more enjoyable when I use lovely soap. Everything about this made in the UK hand wash is ultra-luxe– except for the very affordable price tag. It has a lovely rich lather, a delectable lemongrass and ginger scent, and it thoroughly cleans without stripping the skin. Furthermore, their company believes and practices sustainability and their products are cruelty-free and vegan. Purchase Again? I just opened up another bottle, and I will definitely purchase more!

Farmhouse Fresh Maypop Steeped Milk Lotion ( $31.00 for 8 oz. glass bottle from Farmhouse Fresh): is an infused milk that is blended into the lotion, and the result is a rich and creamy moisturizer that leaves the skin soft, smooth, supple, nourished and scented with a delectable passion fruit aroma. While it is very moisturizing, and perfectly suited for dry skin, it does sink in very quickly, and it does so without leaving behind a greasy residue. The aroma, which is the perfect embodiment of summer, is hypnotic and intoxicatingly beautiful. Purchase Again? I have too many body lotions to purchase any for quite a while, but I really did thoroughly enjoy this on!

By Terry Baume de Rose Hand Cream ($50.00 for 75 grams or 2.62 oz. from By Terry, Space NK, Dermstore, Bluemercury, Amazon, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's): If you love high quality delectable rose scented body products, then be prepared to fall madly in love! This is an ultra-luxe, very moisturizing hand cream with the most refined and elegant rose aroma. It has done wonders for my over-washed and over-sanitized hands and cuticles, and it leaves my skin soft, smooth, supple and a little bit luminous. While it is thick and emollient, it is fast absorbing and leaves behind no greasy residue, whatsoever. However, the delectable veil of fragrance is so hypnotic and delightful that I simply can't stop using this treasure! Purchase Again? I have another deluxe sample tube open, and I will reassess after I finish it! To date, this is one of my very favorite hand creams.

L'Occitane Lavender Hand Cream ($24.00 for 2.6 oz.from L'Occitane, Sephora and Nordstrom): This light-medium weight hand cream is utterly luxurious in its smooth and creamy texture, and its delightful lavender scent. The formula is fast absorbing and fast-acting– it immediately renders hands soft, supple and ultra-hydrated. The lavender aroma is neither cloying, nor in the least bit pungent. Instead, it leaves a thin veil of scent close to the skin, and it fades away altogether after a couple of hours. I have a tube this in my work bag, and in my purse, and I delight in using it every single day! Purchase Again? YES!!

Vitabrid C¹² Scalp Shampoo ($32.00 for 10 oz. from Vitabrid C¹²): is formulated to improve scalp and hair health by gently cleansing the hair and scalp while moisturizing and infusing them with antioxidant-rich vitamins. It thoroughly and effectively cleanses without stripping the skin and hair, and leaves both moisturized without leaving behind any sort of residue. I noted an increase in the volume of my hair, and it is decidedly softer and smoother after use. I should note that it does have a light, clean aroma, but it is neither cloying, nor in the long-lasting. Purchase Again? I just opened a new bottle!

Vitabrid C¹² Hair Tonic Set ($80.00 for Powder: 0.05 oz/1.5g. and Tonic: 3.7 fl oz/110ml. from Vitabrid C¹²): You simply mix all of the powder into the tonic and give it a good shake before each use. It has a light cooling effect on the scalp and hair appears healthier and fuller after use. After using the tonic and shampoo exclusively for the last few months, I have definitely noticed less hair in my drain and my hair brush. I suspect the combination of a bit less stress overall and these two products have been the reason why. Purchase Again? I just opened a new bottle! 

Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Multi-Purpose All-in-Oil Milk Nourishing and Shaping Leave-In Spray ($46.00 for 3.3 oz. from Shu Uemura Art of Hair): an ingenious multitasking spray that makes hair manageable while detangling, controlling frizz, softening, nourishing and hydrating. It can be used on wet or dry hair, and I use it both ways and don't prefer one over the other. It is such a treat for my dry and curly hair, and it never weighs it down or makes it feel greasy. It has a very pleasant warm and creamy aroma that I really like a lot, but it doesn't linger for too long. Purchase Again? I have a fresh bottle waiting to be opened! It is that good!

LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant ($14.00 for 1.7 oz. from LAVANILA and Ulta): I do prefer to avoid the chemicals in my deodorants, and LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorants have been my daily deodorants since I began using them. They make wonderful healthy deodorants that are effective and smell delectable (though they also make an unscented variant for sensitive skin). Their Vanilla + Water for Peace scent is probably one of my favorites these days! Purchase Again? Definitely! I have a couple of their other scents open right now.

Overall Assessment: I'm not sure that I will be able to top this next month, but if I find lots of nearly empty products, I could. What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in March? Any really winners or duds to report?
