It immediately hydrates even the most parched and dehydrated skin– leaving it baby soft, smooth, supple and seriously luminous. It is effective for all types of skin, and has been an extraordinary treat for my normal/combination skin. The aroma is utterly enchanting. It is the perfect balance between the Geranium and the Orange Blossom, and it is neither too sweet, nor too citrusy. Instead, it is deep, rich and warm it reveals a touch of spice. It is hypnotic, delectable and truly divine. Purchase Again? I already have a fresh new bottle open!
L'Occitane Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc Perfumed Soap: This creamy and moisturizing soap smells utterly divine and it feels amazing on the skin. Purchase Again? I would in a second, but I think that it has been discontinued.

Absolutely!
SHU UEMURA Art of Hair Urban Moisture Hydro-Nourishing Double Serum ($38.00 for 3.3 oz. from Shu Uemura Art of Hair): This leave-in hair serum is a dual-phase formula that requires a vigorous shaking to integrate the ingredients for maximum efficacy. EMPTIES NOVEMBER 2019

Press Sample and Purchased (Affiliate Links)

It is hard to believe that another year is about to close, and I thought that I would make a concerted effort to finish as many of my mostly used up beauty products before ringing in the new year. I didn't use quite as many things as I had hoped, but I was out-of-town a lot during November, and because I tend to travel quite light– it doesn't lend itself to finishing up lots of skincare and makeup. In fact, lately when I travel I tend to carry deluxe samples in order to avoid bulky travel bags.
RITUALS T'ai Chi White Lotus & Green Tea Foaming Shower Gel Sensation ($15.00 for 6.7 oz. from Amazon): The unique gel to foam technology not only makes it immensely fun to use, but it exceeds my every expectation of what a body cleansing gel should do. It cleans beautifully, smells glorious, and leaves the skin lusciously hydrated and soft. Furthermore, the rich dense foamy texture lends itself to being one seriously amazing shaving cream that cleanses, softens, and gives a seriously close shave. The combination of Green Tea and White Lotus makes this one of the most delectable scents imaginable. It is fresh, clean and utterly delightful! Purchase Again? I already opened another one!

L'Occitane Shea Butter Extra-Gentle Lavender Soap ($12.00 for 8.8 oz. from L'OccitaneNordstromSephora and QVC): This delectably scented lavender soap has a creamy, non-drying lather that is gentle, non-stripping and nourishing. Furthermore, it thoroughly cleanses without leaving a greasy film, and one bar lasts a very long time. I love using it in the shower, and have even used it in lieu of a shave cream to save my legs and underarms, and it does an fantastic job in this capacity. If you love lavender, then this is a soap that you will likely covet. Purchase Again? I have several other L'Occitane soaps to use first, but I love this lavender soap and would definitely use it again!

Salt By Hendrix Bath Time Baby Bath Salts ($32.00 for 5 1.06 oz. vials from Salt By Hendrix):   Salt By Hendrix makes a wide assortment of beautiful bath and body products, and I have been obsessed with their body scrubs since I was first introduced to them. You really can't go wrong with any of their products, and this assortment of bath salts does not disappoint. Purchase Again? I definitely would, and I think that I have one somewhere in my closet.
Maple Holistics Silk 18 Conditioner ($ $9.75-$16.75 for 8oz.-16oz. from Maple Holistics and Maple Holistics Amazon Store): This is a lightweight, yet very nourishing conditioner that leaves hair manageable, hydrated, soft, frizz-free, smooth and shiny. It works exceedingly well for my dry curly hair, and the warm and creamy vanilla aroma is utterly delectable. Purchase Again? I already opened another bottle!
Farmhouse Fresh Agave Nectar Ageless Body Oil ($23.00 for 4 oz. from Farmhouse Fresh and Dermstore): This lightweight, and fast absorbing, body oil is richly moisturizing and it leaves skin unbelievably soft, supple, hydrated and luminous. I apply it to freshly cleansed skin that is warm and slightly damp following a shower, and it melts into the skin immediately without leaving behind any sort of greasy residue. The aroma, which Farmhouse Fresh describes as a "heavenly light oat/milk scent" that is comparable to tiramisu, is so delectable that it smells positively edible (though I would not recommend trying it!). Purchase Again? I am working on another Farmhouse Fresh Body Oil right now but I would definitely buy this when I need another body oil.

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant Vanilla + Fire ($14.00 for 1.7 oz. from LAVANILA, OverstockAnthropologie and Dermstore): I have used healthy deodorants since I was a teenager, and though I have occasionally used mainstream deodorants, I do prefer to avoid the chemicals. Lavanila makes wonderful healthy deodorants that are effective and smell wonderful (though they also make an unscented variant for sensitive skin). Their Vanilla + Fire scent, which features red ginger, wild orange, and Madagascar vanilla, is one of my all-time favorite scents because it smells utterly delectable, and it offers long-lasting odor protection. Purchase Again? I already have!
Herbivore Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Cream ($48.00 for 1.7 oz. from NordstromSephoraThe Detox MarketBirchboxCredo Beauty and Revolve): Herbivore is 100% vegan and cruelty-free, iand they only use high quality healthy ingredients. Furthermore, they are PETA and Leaping Bunny Certified and they never purchase from suppliers who are not able to prove that they are also cruelty-free. When I first opened the lovely modern minimalist glass jar, I was immediately swept away by the intoxicating rosewater aroma. It is subtle, rather than overpowering, and it is so pleasant and calming. While it delights the senses, it simultaneously ignites one's sense of touch because it has a gorgeous light silky texture that immediately melts into the skin. Filled with ingredients such as Rosewater, Aloe Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, White Tea Extract, Kukui Oils Rice Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, and Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Oil– this luscious cream is lightweight, deeply nourishing, highly moisturizing and it leaves behind no greasy residue. Skin is left soft, smooth, supple and dewy. Furthermore, it softens the appearance of fine lines and creates the highly sought after bouncy skin texture that you are hearing so much about these days. Purchase Again? Yes, but it will be quite a while before I need to purchase another face cream!
Overall Assessment: I hope that I can finish up a few more products in December so that I can open some new products that I have been wanting to try. What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in November? Any particularly great or awful products to report? Do tell!

Maple Holistics Winter Blend Shampoo

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

As I have said repeatedly throughout these virtual pages, having naturally curly hair– with a tendency to be dry– means that it is imperative to use nourishing and non-drying shampoos, conditioners and styling products. As a result, I am always seeking haircare products that are gentle, nourishing and non-stripping. Recently Maple Holistics sent me their Winter Blend Shampoo, and it is perfect for my hair. It is sulfate and paraben-free, cruelty-free and effective. It gently, and thoroughly, cleanses the hair without stripping it, and the peppermint, spearmint and eucalyptus oils invigorate the senses and make the scalp tingle in the most pleasant way. This shampoo achieves a nice creamy lather that is so satisfying to the touch, and coupled with its uplifting aroma it is such a treat to use. This shampoo is also formulated to "revive dry, itchy and flaky" scalps, and while I do not have dandruff, I can attest to the fact that it does offer hydration to my dry hair. I suspect that it would benefit anyone with a dry scalp, dandruff and generally over-processed hair as well.

According to Maple Holistics,

Peppermint really gets to shine during the winter time. Our winter blend shampoo utilizes peppermint along with 4 other mints to revive dry, itchy, and flaky scalp as it awakens your senses. These mint powerhouses help soothe scalp irritations and promote strong, healthy-looking hair. The invigorating mint medley of wild mint, bergamot mint, spearmint, peppermint, and eucalyptus mint increases blood circulation to help stimulate your hair follicles for thicker hair. Our shampoo is sulfate and paraben-free making it great for all hair types, color treated hair, and sensitive skin.

Directions: Rinse hair, massage quarter-sized amount of shampoo throughout scalp and hair. Allow the therapeutic benefits a few minutes (2-3) to absorb before rinsing. For best results, follow with a nourishing conditioner.

Overall Assessment: This is definitely a shampoo worth checking out!

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

As we move into fall, it is time to switch up a few haircare products in favor of more nourishing and hydrating picks. For me, this means using more moisturizing conditioners that are able to meet the needs of my dry naturally curly hair during the colder months of the year.

Maple Holistics Silk18 Natural Hair Conditioner is a lightweight, yet very nourishing conditioner that leaves hair manageable, hydrated, soft, frizz-free, smooth and shiny. It works exceedingly well for my dry curly hair, and the warm and creamy vanilla aroma is utterly delectable. It is a really wonderful conditioner, and one that I will inevitably use up this season.

August Luxury Face Oil Empties

Press Sample & Purchased (Affiliate Links)

I actually managed to finish up a good assortment of products this month, and you will notice that I only finished up face oils! I had a lot of mostly used up bottles that I made a point to finish before they went rancid.

In the picture above you will see that there is a bottle of African Botanics Fluers d'Afrique Intense Recovery Oil for a second month in a row, and it isn't that I go through a bottle a month, but instead that I had two open (one in my travel bag and one at home), and I finished them both up. The one in my travel bag was nearly empty when it went from home use to travel use, and rather than decanting the contents into a smaller bottle I just traveled with the original bottle.

African Botanics Fleurs d'Afrique Intense Recovery Oil ($250.00 for 1 oz. from African BotanicsCult BeautyCredo Beauty, Violet Grey and Net-A-Porter): is a highly concentrated luxury oil that is lightweight in texture and fast absorbing. The texture, is itself, ultra-silky and it leaves skin feeling like the softest cashmere conceived. It has an utterly intoxicating aroma that is a delectable fusion of the Jasmine Grandiflorum, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Kalahari Melon Seed Oil and Marula Seed Oil. It is a warm and earthy floral that delights the senses, calms the mind and nourishes the skin. This is an oil to be savored, and the tactile and sensory experience is so exquisite that one immediately slows down to really relish the experiential component of this highly effective ultra-luxe beauty oil. Unlike many luxury oils that add water to break down water-soluble actives, African Botanics opted not to dilute the oils, but instead utilized highly potent oil soluble actives. Furthermore, they source rare ingredients of the highest quality from remote locations, and the end result is a staggeringly unique beauty oil that easily rivals the most potent and effective anti-aging serums in the marketplace today.

African Botanics Fleurs d’Afrique Intensive Recovery Oil utilizes a visionary delivery system that allows the ingredients to penetrate the skin deeply in order to effectively nourish the skin, to stimulate skin cell renewal, to restore and regenerate skin and to protect and heal. Furthermore, this unique formula softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while fading hyperpigmentation, and it reduces inflammation and redness.

My skin is notably different in that the overall texture is more even in tone and the small areas of light hyperpigmentation have noticeably faded. My fine lines are softened and my skin appears more taut and lifted. Furthermore, it effectively encourages skin cell-turnover to eliminate dull and dry dead skin cells in order to reveal luminous fresh skin. Repurchase? I already opened another bottle!

Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum For Face($195.00 for 30 ml/ 1 oz. from NordstromNeiman MarcusbluemercuryVintner's Daughter): This marvelous luxury elixir has quickly risen through the ranks to achieve pride of place on the short list of top luxury beauty oils for even the most picky aficionados. I am among them. Vintner's Daughter was created by April Gargiulo, a Napa Valley vintner, who wanted to formulate a potent and active organic botanical serum that was free of chemical compounds and toxic ingredients.  Therefore, she joined forces with natural beauty experts, and they spent two years formulating Active Botanical Serum. This potent phytoactive beauty oil in an anti-aging treatment that features, "energy dense botanicals that infuse every drop of Active Botanical Serum with anti-inflammatory phytonutrients, firming phytoceramides, nourishing fatty-acids and powerful anti-oxidants." In its capacity as a titan of anti-aging, this luxury oil serum was formulated to, "stimulate cellular turnover; maintain skin elasticity; strengthen capillaries; inhibit melanin production; deliver oxygen to cells and protect against free-radical damage." Furthermore, one quickly notices that skin appears more soft, supple, hydrated,  even in tone, lifted, moisturized, radiant and youthful.

This lightweight and fast absorbing golden elixir boasts a delectable warm and earthy aroma from which one can detect the Rose Damascena Absolute, Jasminum Grandiflorum Flower and a fusion of the remaining essential oils. The intoxicating aromatherapeutic experience delights and calms the senses while it quiets the mind. I find that I slow down and inhale deeply as I massage in into my skin, and that any residual stress that I may have been experiencing just melts away. This ritual is utterly relaxing, and it heightens the sensory experience of using this luxe oil.

Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum significantly bolsters radiance and it leaves skin silky smooth, soft and supple. I note a distinct brightening and evening of my skin tone, a lifting and softening on my fine lines, and an undeniable increase in the long term hydration of my skin. Repurchase? I am already working on a fresh bottle!

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil ($16.00 for .5 oz, $48.00 for 1.7 oz, and $96.00 for 4 oz. from Sephora and QVC): is a delightfully lightweight, fast-absorbing, ultra-nourishing multipurpose oil that can be used from head to toe. This antioxidant-rich, luxurious oil leaves skin soft, supple, deeply moisturized and quite luminous. It is a great for all skin types– including sensitive skin that is prone to inflammation and irritation. Given that I have normal/combination skin, I am able to use in in lieu of an added moisturizer, if I so choose, and find that it does an extraordinary job restoring the moisture to my skin whenever it becomes in the least bit dry or dehydrated. Furthermore, I note a pronounced clarity and a softening of fine lines each time that I use this delightful gem of a beauty oil. I simply massage a few drops into my slightly damp face, neck and décolleté and luxuriate in the pampering, and delight in the results.

I have a bottle on my nightstand that I use to massage into my scalp, hair, cuticles and hands at night, and remain elated by the results. I keep another bottle in my bathroom that I use all of the time as a moisturizer, but I also add a drop or two into my foundations and tinted moisturizers for added moisture and luminosity, and I keep a small bottle in my travel bag. Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil is a highly effective and affordable luxury beauty oil that is most definitely obsession-worthy. Repurchase? I already opened another bottle!
The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Face Firming Serum ($160.00 for .35ml. from Nordstrom, Anthroplogie and Feel Unique): First, it must be said that this beautiful oil has the intoxicating scent of Sweet Orange- therefore upon application you are assured of a magnificent and visceral sensory experience. This brilliant concoction boasts a high concentration of the powerful Alpha Lipoic Acid, a known powerful antioxidant, that helps to prevent cell damage by scavenging free-radicals. The high concentration of Rose Hip Oil is rich in transretinoic acid and essential fatty acids, and is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and also helps to reduce scarring over time. Sweet Orange helps prevent capillary fragility, and Carrots are rich in Beta Carotene (part of the Vitamin A family), and are rich antioxidants that protects the skin against free-radicals. Lemon (Citrus Limonum) lifts, tones and exfoliates the skin, and does so in an immediately visible way. This is also to say nothing of the fact that my skin is left soft, supple, and deeply moisturized and hydrated.

This combination of ingredients, along with those that I didn't enumerate, create a powerful cocktail that has visibly changed the texture and clarity of my skin. There is a notable lifting effect in that my expression lines are radically softened, and my skin has an unprecedented radiance and clarity. I would describe this oil as one that stimulates circulation because my skin has the type of radiance that is not superficial, but one instead that causes my skin to have a rosy radiance as though lit from within. The difference is so noticeable, that whenever I use it people comment on how gorgeous, glowing and beautiful my skin is. In fact, I recently had an aesthetician tell me that I had really great skin that was just gorgeous and glowing. I attribute a good deal of this to this magic potion, of course it is not solely responsible for the current condition of my skin- but I am currently under an inordinate amount of stress, and often when stressed my skin goes haywire. Instead, my skin looks and feels wonderful. Repurchase? Without question!

Colbert MD Illumino Face Oil ($150.00 for 1.02 oz. from Space NK, Dermstore, Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus and Net-A-Porter):  The first thing that one notes is that this is no ordinary oil. It has a thin water-like consistency that allows it to sink into the dermis faster, and presumably deeper, than any other oil that I have tried. Therefore, the efficacy of this delivery system is peerless among all of the luxury beauty oils that I have tried. Furthermore, among the ingredients is the brilliant addition of retinol-- thereby making this one of the most advanced anti-aging beauty oils on the market. The result of the advanced technology employed in the creation of this face oil is glowing soft youthful skin. Illumino is an apt name given that skin boasts a luminous glow that appears lit from within.  The difference in the quality of my skin was evident after a single use, no exaggeration. The results were that immediate for me. After prolonged use my skin continues to look better and better (and my skin was in good shape to begin with). This is also the perfect oil for those who remain fearful of using face oils because it is light and thin and sinks in quickly without any of the "oiliness" that make novices to the world of beauty oils uncomfortable. Once you try Illumino Face Oil, you will understand why it has rightfully earned cult-status among beauty oil aficionados. Additionally, once you try it-- you won't ever want to be without it! The scent is a very pleasant light fruity floral that dissipates very quickly, but is deliciously satisfying. This glorious magical face elixir will delight you because of the featherweight texture, but will truly astound you because of the results.

The oils selected by Dr. Colbert create a perfect cocktail that aids in cell repair, improves skin tone and texture, improves elasticity, improves suppleness, improves hydration, bolsters skin barrier function, and deeply nourishes. Additionally, after using this potent miracle in a bottle-- I found that my skin had such a pronounced clarity that I could easily skip wearing a foundation or tinted moisturizer. Some kind of magic is born out of the list of ingredients that were so carefully selected to create the ultimate antioxidant rich anti-aging face oil. Repurchase? Yes, but not until I use up a few more of my face oils.

Maple Holistics Argan Oil ($9.95 for 2 oz. from Amazon): is an odorless, lightweight, fast absorbing, nourishing, and very high quality oil that is surprisingly affordable, and a pleasure to use. Pure Argan Oil is one of my favorite multipurpose oils for the hair, face, body and hands. I always have a few bottles on hand, and often add a several drops to my body lotion to give even more moisture and nourishment to my winter skin. It is a fantastic face oil, one of my favorite oils to use on my cuticles and hands, and a great choice to use on dry patches of skin on the face and body. However, it is in its ability to tame frizz and fly-aways, nourish my hair and leave it soft, smooth and shiny that it really impresses me– particularly during the cold weather. Repurchase? I have just opened up a new bottle of Josie Maran's Argan Oil, so it will be quite a while before I need to repurchase any Argan Oil.

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil travel size (See above): This little bottle was in my travel bag and I happily used it up!

Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Jasmine & Neroli Face Oil ($170.00 for 1 oz. and $96.00 for .5 oz. from Nordstrom, Sephora, Saks Fifth Avenue, Goop and Net-A-Porter):  Rodin created this luxury oil to, "satisfy all her complexion-beauty needs. Packed with eleven essential oils derived from flowers and other botanicals, this is the ideal liquid moisturizer for anyone seeking a simple solution to hydrated skin and a luminous, light-reflecting complexion. Like magic, it effortlessly melts into complexions that are 'normal,' oily, dry, or any combination thereof, without leaving any greasy residue."

No wild claims are made that this ultra luxe oil will immediately eradicate the ravages of time, or that it is the ultimate fountain of youth culled from a newly discovered region in some far off exotic land, or  that it will immediately make you appear 10 -20 years younger.  My skin looks clear, bright, rested (even when I am not), even-toned, moisturized, utterly hydrated, and deliciously glowing (not greasy, but lit from within and healthy). Repurchase? I am on my second or third full-size bottle. You will note that there is a sample of the Rodin Olio Lusso Lavender Face Oil as well, but I didn't use it long enough to really formulate an opinion. I prefer the aroma if the Jasmine & Neroli and the Geranium Face Oils, though.

The Jojoba Company 100% Natural Jojoba and Rosehip Oil ($24.95 from The Jojoba CompanyMankindHQ Hair and Look Fantastic): is a potent, antioxidant-rich blend of 100% natural Jojoba and Rosehip Oils that offer the skin deep hydration. Rosehip Oil has long been used to soften the appearance of wrinkles, scars and stretchmarks, but on its own has a tendency to only penetrate the upper layers of the skin, but when paired with Jojoba Oil, Rosehip Oil is able to absorb more deeply. The oil is lightweight, and it absorbs rather quickly when applied to warm, damp skin. Skin is left moisturized, soft, supple and radiant. There is no fragrance added to this natural oil, but one is able to detect a mild Rosehip aroma. The Jojoba Company 100% Natural Jojoba and Rose Hip Oil Repurchase? Maybe eventually, but I don't need another bottle at the moment.

Overall Assessment: So many loves this month! Most of which have already been repurchased, or are destined to be!

Empties Post Volume XLI: February 2016

Press Sample/GWP/Purchased (Affiliate Links)

As you might recall, back in December I discovered that I would actually reach for largely used-up products if I placed them in on my bathroom counter and had to see them each day. It worked so well, in fact, that I did it in January and February, and will continue doing so. As a result of this new system, I managed to use up a nice pile of full size products in February. Here is what I used:

For the Face:

1) Koh Gen Do Pure Cotton Pads ($12.00 for a pack of 60 from Barneys New York, Nordstrom, B-Glowing and Sephora): Best invention since sliced bread, seriously! These are, hands down, the best cotton pads that I have ever used. They are soft and thick, and ultra effective.

Made from cotton that has not been chemically treated, bleached, or pigmented, these medical-grade cotton pads easily come apart in layers when wet, allowing more surface use when removing makeup or saturating it with a toner or skin lotion for a mini facial. The extra thickness and durability add a soft cushion for those with sensitive skin.

The cotton used for this product was raised without the use of chemical fertilizer or pesticides to ensure pure, safe, superb quality.

2) Burt's Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes ($5.99 from Drugstore.com, Walgreens, Ulta and Target): I am a huge proponent of cleansing towelettes, and I absolutely love the ones from Burt's Bees. These are super gentle on the skin and are perfect to remove makeup on those nights when you are too tired for your whole skincare routine. They are also my go-to during swatchfests since they are so gentle, and they remove every stitch of makeup without irritating my skin.

3) The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Face Firming Serum ($160.00 from Barneys New York and Selfridges. Reviewed HERE): I love this antioxidant-rich anti-aging oil so much that I have already purchased another one. First, it must be said that this beautiful oil has the intoxicating scent of Sweet Orange- therefore upon application you are assured of a magnificent and visceral sensory experience.

4) Reviva Labs Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($18.69-$21.99 from Ulta, Beauty Encounter and GNC. Reviewed HERE): Used alone the Hyaluronic Acid Serum is a fantastic moisture booster that can be used in conjunction with your daily moisturizer. It restores comfort and moisture to the skin while simultaneously plumping fine lines. The difference is quite remarkable.

5) Asbury Apothecary Gentle Exfoliating Facial Cream ($40.00 for 4 oz. Reviewed HERE): I am always on the lookout for great exfoliators to share with you, and now have another to add the list of worthy contenders. Asbury Apothecary Gentle Exfoliating Facial Cream is an exceedingly effective exfoliator that removes dead skin cells, unclogs congested pores, and leaves skin velvety soft, smooth and hydrated. It boasts a dense concentration of tiny exfoliating particles, and it is so effective that it requires only the very lightest hand to achieve outstanding results.

6) Bare Love Face Luxury Skin Fuel Night-Time Recovery Treatment ($58.00 from Birchbox. Reviewed HERE): It looks and feels like a gel, but behaves like an oil as it effortlessly melts into the skin. It has the intoxicating and delectable scent of Vanilla Planifolia that is both comforting and pleasant. As with all face oils, I massage this one into freshly cleaned skin that it still warm and damp. This not only assures that it penetrates deeper into the skin, but also is far more economical because this method requires far less product. While one pump is recommended, I find that I need far less for my face, neck and décolleté.

7) TATCHA Radiant Deep Brightening Serum ($ from TATCHA and Barneys New York. Reviewed HERE): This lovely serum hydrates and brightens the skin, and gives it an overall evenness in tone. I absolutely love this serum.

A hydrating, brightening serum powered by time-tested Asian botanicals to bring color clarity and radiance to the skin. Contains licorice root, jujuba, scutellaria and silk extracts as well as squalane and HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex, a proprietary blend of rice bran, green tea and red algae extract.

Formulated without mineral oil, synthetic color, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, PEGs, PPGs, urea, DEA, TEA or phthalates. Ideal for combination skin.

8) Radical Skincare Eye Revive Cream ($125.00 from Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue, Space NK, Skin StoreBloomingdale's and Harrods. Reviewed HERE): As I have said time and again- I am very discriminating when it comes to what I want and need in an eye cream. I want a deeply nourishing and hydrating eye cream that decreases the appearance of dark circles, that reduced puffiness on the days that I don't sleep enough, and that keeps fine lines at bay. To complicate my list of needs further, I prefer an eye cream lighter in texture that can stand up against the richest eye creams with respect to performance. I also don't want it to have petrolatum and mineral oil together at the top the the list of ingredients because that combination is the perfect storm for giving me milia.

Radical Skincare Eye Revive Cream leaves my delicate eye area nourished, moisturized, free of dark circles, free of puffiness, the skin is taut, the fine lines are radically reduced, and there is an unprecedented clarity. Furthermore, no milia whatsoever!

9) Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser ($26.00 from Sephora and Skin Store): I only had the one sample packet to try, but I managed to get several uses out of it and really liked it a lot. Enough, in fact, that I am contemplating buying a tube! I tried it will my FOREO LUNA and it worked wonderfully. It has a lovely creamy lather that isn't in the least bit drying!
For the Hair and Body:

10) Bodycology Moroccan Sunset Moisturizing Body Wash (Reviewed HERE): This is a non-stripping moisturizing cleanser that leaves the skin soft and thoroughly cleansed. It has a warm fruity floral scent that makes the whole bathroom smell great.

The sensual fragrance of sweet passionfruit and blooming hibiscus flowers leave you feeling exotic and inspired. Our ultra moisturizing body wash is formulated with Shea Butter & Vitamin E to keep skin feeling hydrated and irresistably smooth.

11) Maple Holistics Argan Special Formula Shampoo (Reviewed HERE): This is a very gentle moisturizing shampoo that thoroughly cleanses hair without stripping it, and without leaving a heavy greasy film behind. The blend of six oils used (Argan, Peach Kernel, Jojoba, Avocado, Camellia Seed and Almond) nourish, condition and moisturize the scalp and hair– leaving it manageable and tangle free. It has a subtle, light and warm scent that is a fusion of the six oils in conjunction with the honey and vanilla, but it isn't in the least overpowering. This nourishing formula is a good choice for all types of hair, and if is gentle enough for people with dry hair. My naturally curly hair is softer and is less prone to frizziness since I began using this shampoo and conditioner.

12) Maple Holistics Argan Conditioner (Reviewed HERE): This is an ultra-nourishing, yet lightweight, conditioner that leaves my hair soft, shiny, frizz-free, moisturized and manageable. It is one of those rare conditioners that permits me to comb my curly hair without the aid of additional products, and that is no small feat. It has a light and pleasant nondescript scent that does not linger, and therefore will not bother those sensitive to scents.

13 & 14) Fake Bake Mistifier Moisturizer Body Spray ($7.99 from Overstock.com. Reviewed HERE): Fake Bake Oil-Free Mistifier Moisturizer Body Spray is a very refreshing spray moisturizer, and while it is, in part, intended to be used to preserve tanning treatments (be it spray tans or real tans)-- I find that it does a stupendous job hydrating my skin during the warm weather. It is non-greasy and fast absorbing, but it is also fun to use. When you initially spray Mistifier it foams a bit and when the bubbles evaporate on the skin they have a refreshing cooling effect. I found that I had two half used cans in rotation, and managed to use up both this month.

15) Noodle & Boo Healthy Hand Wash ($12.00 from Beauty Encounter. Reviewed HERE): This is a very gentle soap-free hand wash that thoroughly cleans, but is so gentle that it never strips the skin. Hands are left luxuriously soft, supple and hydrated, and the delicate soft scent is subtle and barely-there.

Make good hygiene fun and help keep little ones germ-free and healthy. Soap-free formula is fortified with vitamins A, C and E, which nourish skin between washings.

16) Trader Joe's Lavender & Chamomile Hand Soap: This remains one of my very favorite hand soaps, and I can't recommend it highly enough! I buy them 4 at a time, and love that this soap leaves hands soft and supple instead of dry and chapped.

17) Molton Brown Suma Ginseng Body Wash ($30.00 from Molton BrownBarneys New YorkBeauty Expert, Beauty.com, Harrods, Skin Store, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor): This is a really lovely masculine woodsy scented body wash that is delightful to use.

18) evenhealy Sweet Blossom Hydrating Body Oil (Reviewed HERE): This is a deeply nourishing, immediately hydrating, and long-lasting moisturizer. My skin is left luxuriously soft and supple as well as silky smooth to the touch. Dry skin is quickly softened, soothed and hydrated– while the senses are treated to the gorgeous fresh scent. Furthermore, Sweet Blossom Hydrating Body Oil can be used as a massage oil and a scalp treatment oil. I love using it as a hand moisturizer underneath a heavy cream, and my chapped over-washed winter hands no longer look or feel dry or parched.

19) CapriClear 100% Coconut Oil Spray ($16.99-$19.99 from Walgreens and Drugstore.com. Reviewed HERE): This is a safe and effective spray oil that leaves my dry winter skin moisturized, soft and supple. I spray it on damp skin immediately following a shower and it makes my skin feel fantastic. On days when it is particularly cold I prefer to layer it under a rich cream or body butter, but generally it offers more than enough moisture. This is a really lovely moisturizer, however if you have a sensitivity or allergy to coconut in any form then this product should be strictly avoided.

What did you use up, give away, toss out, or return in February? Any winners or losers to report?

Empties Post Volume XXXVIII: November 2015

Press Sample, Samples & Gifts (Affiliate Links)
I have to say that I am surprised by the sheer number of samples that I used up in November, though I didn't do such an exemplary job finishing up full sized products. I account for this disparity, in part, because I was testing out lots of new products, but also because I made a conscious choice to use up a lot of sample packets to see whether or not there were any real jewels worth purchasing. That said, this tends to be somewhat of a rarity given that the majority of sample packets do not contain enough product upon which to form a real opinion.

Full Size Products:

1) Maple Holistics Argan Conditioner (reviewed here): Maple Holistics Argan Conditioner is an ultra-nourishing, yet lightweight, conditioner that leaves my hair soft, shiny, frizz-free, moisturized and manageable. It is one of those rare conditioners that permits me to comb my curly hair without the aid of additional products, and that is no small feat. It has a light and pleasant nondescript scent that does not linger, and therefore will not bother those sensitive to scents. I'm already working on my second bottle, and I still love it!

2) Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser (reviewed here): Charcoal is the "new secret weapon from the Bioré® Skincare Experts. Draw out and trap 2x more dirt and impurities than a basic cleanser with this innovative black cleanser that foams white and rinses clean. Infused with Japanese Skin Purifying Technology, this facial cleanser gives you results after just one use!"

Not only does this cleanser clear pore congestion, but it leaves the skin fresh and tingly! Soft and smooth skin is revealed quickly and efficiently, but it never feels stripped. I would definitely use this again.

3) Belli Anti-Blemish Facial Wash (reviewed here): is a very powerful, yet gentle, exfoliating facial cleanser that was formulated to be safe for use during pregnancy, and yet effective enough to treat acne or breakouts. While I am neither pregnant, nor acne prone I tested this cleanser when I had a monthly hormonal break out, and not only did it swiftly eradicate my few pimples, but it did so without stripping my skin. I find this to be a very effective and gentle cleanser that took up permanent residence in my shower.  It removed dead skin cells and left my skin baby-bottom soft. I would definitely use this again.

4) Sonoma Olive Oil Soap in Blood Orange: I am obsessed with this luscious soap, and definitely will purchase it as soon as I need more nourishing bar soaps. I used it on my hands and body, but also used it for shaving, and it left my skin so soft and moisturized.

Pure, 100% olive oil soap hand made using only organic olive oil from the Sonoma Valley. Gentle, moisturizing, affective. Excellent for face, body, shaving, shampoo, and babies.

5) Essence Sea Loofa Bath Bar: I am obsessed with this exfoliating soap, and will definitely purchase this soon. It is a gentle exfoliating soap, with 2% seaweed from the coast of Brittany, and it leaves skin silky smooth and soft. It removes dead skin cells effectively and quickly, and neither strips nor dries out skin.
Single & Multiple Use Packets:

6) Kaunis Soothing Facial Mask (featured here): I am a huge fan of hydrating sheet masks, and was pleasantly surprised to find the Kaunis Soothing Facial Mask in my November Beauty Box 5 subscription box. This left my skin ultra-hydrated, smooth and supple. I would happily use this mask again!

Kaunis Soothing Facial Mask contains Deep Ocean water that is extracted from the negative pressure in the light-free level at 800 meters below sea level and has the molecular size close to the water molecules in the human body, so it easily penetrates the skin cell membranes to moisturize your skin. Deep Ocean Water is rich in potassium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, selenium and manganese and it balances the secretion of sebum for glowing and healthy looking silky skin.

Benefits:
-Alleviates Inflammatory Skin Conditions
-Soothes Irritated Skin
-Refreshes Damages Skin
-Smoothing Effects on Skin

7) The Honest Company Honest Wipes (reviewed here): These wipes are made without: Alcohol, Chlorine, Phthalates, Formaldehyde, Parabens, Phenols, Quaternary Ammonium Compounds, SLS, or SLES, Lanolin, or any other unnecessary additives. They are so gentle that I used them to remove swatches, and they didn't dry out my skin. They even removed every bit of the most pigmented makeup– including highly saturated matte lipstick swatches.

8) Altchek Depuff Eye Pads (featured here): These were also in the November Beauty Box 5 box, and I was thrilled to try them out. There were two packs for two full treatments, and I definitely saw the benefit in using them. They were ultra hydrating, very refreshing, and left my skin smooth and plumped. Furthermore, my fine lines were noticeably diminished for a full day. I would definitely use these again!

Eye Gel Pads help reduce the appearance of fine lines and puffiness while hydrating the sensitive and fragile skin under the eyes. It is a perfect treatment before a night out.

Benefits:
  • Immediately refreshes and revitalizes fatigued eyes
  • Hydrates and replenishes the delicate skin around the eye area
  • Retinyl Palmitate helps renew and improve skin's resilience
  • Smooths to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Antioxidants help the delicate eye area resist environmental stressors
Key Ingredients: Retinyl Palmitate, Phyto Collagen, Vitamin E, Glycerin, Aloe Vera and Allantoin

9) YU CHOO Steam Silk Hair Pack (featured here): This is supposed to be a deeply moisturizing hair mask that you leave in for about 15-20 minutes before rinsing out.  I followed the instructions to the letter, but found it very difficult to rinse out. My hair was left feeling greasy and slick, and I finally had to shampoo my hair several times to remove all of the residue. This was a definite miss for me.

10) Marc Anthony Macadamia Oil Sulfate Free Deep Rescue Conditioning Treatment: I loved this deep conditioner so much that I will definitely be purchasing it. I got two full treatments out of a single packet, and it left my hair deeply conditioned, shiny, manageable and completely frizz free.

Indulge your hair with this ultra-rich strengthening and reconstructing Sulfate Free, Deep Healing Weekly Treatment. A unique blend of Tropical Macadamia Nut Oil penetrates the hair shaft for deep hydration. Bamboo Extract corrects, strengthens and boosts shine while restoring dry, dull, damaged, frizzy hair. Improves elasticity. Seals and bonds split ends. Protects color.
Small Bottles and Jars:

There are far too many samples to go into an in-depth overview of each one, but there were some definite loves in this pile. In the spirit of full disclosure, the 20 little white jars contained an assortment of cleansers, lotions, creams and serums, each of which only contained enough product for a couple of uses. I used up a little more than half of them and tossed out the contents of the remaining since they no longer seemed fresh or appealing. Nothing terribly memorable to report. There are also a variety of lab samples and other unmarked samples that didn't really speak to me, and some are already forgotten.

11) Laura Ashley Coconut Lime Body Butter (featured here): This was another Beauty Box 5 deluxe sample, and I really liked the texture and the scent, and it did a good job moisturizing my skin. I am currently swimming in lotions, creams and body butters– so it will be quite a while before I need to purchase any, but I did enjoy using this.

12) Beautiful Nutrition Lemon Rinse Gentle Clarifying Treatment (discussed here): I don't often have the need to use clarifying products to remove product buildup, but I did like this one. It didn't leave my hair feeling stripped or squeaky-clean– which is a good thing since naturally curly hair tends to be dry by its very nature.

pH Balancing Restorative Rinse. Restart the clock on healthy hair.  Over time, product buildup causes hair to look dull and lifeless.  Lemon Rinse Gentle Clarifying Treatment helps return hair to its natural glory with active lemon extracts that gently cleanse and tone, rapidly restoring weightless body and shine.

13) Philip B. Nordic Wood Hair & Body Shampoo: I am utterly obsessed with Philip B. products, and I have yet to use one that I didn't love. This multipurpose hair and body shampoo smells divine, and makes the hair and skin look and feel wonderful! I would definitely love to get a full size bottle.

Invigorate your mind and body with the aromatic scent of the clean, fresh, green forests of Scandinavia. Moisturize, tone and condition your hair, scalp and skin with a nurturing one-step product. PHILIP B® Nordic Wood Hair & Body Shampoo is stimulating and soothing with a pure 6% herbaceous blend of Norwegian spruce, balsam fir, white pine, cedarwood and camphor with oat extracts, wheat amino acids and aloe. Nordic Wood Hair & Body Shampoo invigorates your spirit, while cooling, reviving and refreshing your body and soul.

14) L'Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil: Given my love of body oils, almonds and all things L'Occitane– it was obvious from the moment that I opened this bottle that it was going to be true love, and it was. This is an absolutely lovely body oil that is lightweight, fast absorbing, and utterly delectable. It is deliciously moisturizing, and left my skin soft, supple and super moisturized. I definitely need a full size bottle.

Formulated with more than 50% almond oil, this light, fine body oil effectively helps skin feel supple and smoother. Skin feels nourished thanks to the ideal combination of almond oil, rich in omega 6, and camelina oil, rich in omega 3. This balance provides suppleness and comfort to the skin. Applied with a spray, this oil melts into the skin, enveloping it with a subtle and mouthwatering scent of fresh almonds while leaving a delicious satiny-smooth finish.

15) Molton Brown Gingerlily Body Wash: I love Molton Brown Body products, and was smitten with this particular scent. Their body washes are moisturizing and luxurious to use, and they make fantastic gifts!

A luxurious bath and body wash blended with enriching Polynesian Tamanu Nut Oil and moisturizing White Lily Extract.

16) Miller Harris Citron Citron Body Lotion: This is an uplifting citrus body lotion that smells divine. It is lightweight in texture, but a very effective moisturizer. I would happily purchase a big bottle  when I start to run low on body lotion.

A lovely citrus scented moisturising body lotion that will soothe and uplift the senses. Citron Citron is the summery essence of citrus with all the bright, clean freshness that suggests. A vibrant spritz of Sicilian lemon, Spanish orange and Jamaican lime are given spin by cool mint and basil, while a complex base of green moss, Moroccan cedar and cardamom provide a lasting background.

17) Lollia In Love Shea Butter Hand Creme (reviewed here): This is one of the most intoxicatingly beautiful hand creams that I have ever tried. The floral scent leaves me deliriously happy, and the thick and rich formal leaves hands and cuticles very moisturized. I need to buy another tube soon because I really miss using this!

A modern interpretation of a sheer romantic floral with delicate infusions of apple blossom kissed sweetly by jasmine, floating upon the breath of the truest living rose.

Macadamia nut & avocado oils are blended to comfort & soothe skin. Beneficial hydrating extracts of aloe and shea butter lightly moisturize. Formulated to absorb quickly and leave skin deliciously fresh.

18) The Honest Company Honest Shampoo & Body Wash (reviewed here): I only used this as a body wash when I was traveling, and I really liked it. It is gentle and non-stripping, and works well for shaving.

19) Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream: Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream: This is a really beautiful and rich anti-aging cream for the face. It was a little too rich for my normal to combination skin– so I used it on my neck, décolleté  and hands instead. This is perfect for dry and/or more mature skin, and definitely not something that I could use on my face with any regularity.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream: Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is clinically proven to reduce the depth of wrinkles and improve skin firmness, tone and hydration after 15 days of use. It contains a unique Mediterranean algae, padina pavonica, which has been shown to dramatically increase the quantity of glycosaminoglycans (or GAGs) within the skin. By special cell communication, these water-attracting GAGs moisturize skin and improve suppleness, firmness and elasticity. Additionally, the cream contains ginkgo biloba (which provides superior free-radical protection) blended with precious rose and mimosa absolutes to create the ultimate anti-aging product.

20) Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF20: This seems like a really nice hydrating moisturizer with sunscreen, but I think that it is better suited to oilier skin than mine. I tend not to use oil-free products, even though I have normal to combination skin (with an active t-zone) because I love using oils. This definitely doubles as a primer, and makes skin look and feel lovely.

Flawless skin, maximum radiance. This oil-free, hydrating SPF20 moisturizer diminishes skin concerns, tightens the pores, reduces excess sebum, decreases imperfections, corrects spots, and leaves the complexion even and radiant. The skin is transformed. Excellent as a skin primer. Apply in the morning to face and neck. Avoid the eye contour area.

21) RADICAL Skincare Extreme Repair Cream: This is a rich cream that features a blend of 18 active ingredients to protect from visible signs of aging while delivering deep hydration, and evening skin tone. Like all RADICAL Skincare products, it is highly effective, lives up to its claims and is an absolute joy to use. This is one of my all-time favorite luxury skincare lines!

Protect your skin from the primary causes of aging—free radicals, chronic inflammation, and dehydration—while moisturizing and repairing. This anti-aging solution contains two peptides, 10 plant extracts, and antioxidants to help improve skin texture and the appearance of wrinkles. It’s infused with cutting-edge agents such as carnauba wax and desert date oil, which are proven to increase hydration by forming a second skin barrier. Perfect for the most demanding skins in the most extreme need, it controls water loss, fights free radicals, firms skin, and decreases the look of wrinkles for a youthful-looking, luminous complexion.

22) TATCHA RADIANT Deep Brightening Serum (featured here): This is a truly extraordinary brightening serum that leaves skin noticeably luminous and deeply moisturized. It utilizes, "time-tested Asian botanicals + HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex for radiant looking skin." I have a few more sample bottles to use, but will definitely get a full size bottle when I'm done with them.

23) L'Occitane Divine Oil (reviewed here): Divine, indeed. What can I tell you, L'Occitane makes really really lovely skincare, and this oil is just fantastic. The scent and texture are utterly luxurious and velvety, and skin is left moisturized, plumped, soft and supple.

The Divine Youth Oil helps fight visible signs of aging for a skin texture that appears replenished, as if plumped from within.

24) Goldfaden MD Fleuressence Cell Oil: For me, it isn't often that a single sample size results in the strong desire to make the purchase. Generally speaking, I  need more time to determine if it will be a good fit for my skin, but I knew I wanted this gorgeous anti-aging beauty oil almost immediately. While I haven't yet made the purchase, I can tell you that it has a beautiful lightweight and fast absorbing consistency, and that it leaves skin very hydrated and luminous. There is definitely a full size bottle in my future.

The proprietary blend of 100% pure active botanicals, fruit extracts and natural oils delivers powerful vitamins and nutrients deep into the skin to boost moisture levels and skin cell revitalization. Rich in powerful Omega fatty acids and Vitamins A, C and E, the botanical actives work to diminish the appearance of fine lines, discoloration, inflammation and reduce pore size.

Added powerful oils—Kalahari Oil, Mongongo Oil and Baobab Oil—protect and shield the skin against environmental stresses, support the rejuvenation and renewing of skin cells, improve skin elasticity and promote accelerated skin-cell turnover. Skin is left glowing, hydrated and plump.

25) Fresh Crème Ancienne: This is a super rich balm-like cream that is perfectly suited to dry and/or mature skin. It is too rich for my face, but worked serious magic on my hands and cuticles.

This supremely effective formula is the ultimate age-delaying solution. It is proven to reduce the depth and length of wrinkles, increase skin elasticity and firmness, and provide instant and long-lasting hydration. It is enriched with meadowfoam seed oil, a unique, nourishing fatty acid that plumps and firms the complexion and improves overall elasticity. A dose of vitamin E provides antioxidant protection against free-radical damage, and beeswax and chamomile wax eradicate dry spots, soften the skin, and create a light moisture-preserving veil.

26) evanhealy French Rose Clay: I am a huge fan of clay masks, and this is a really special one. It exfoliates dead skin cells and draws out impurities with great precision. I used it when I had some congested pores, and it really cleaned them out without drying or irritating my skin. When I need another clay mask, I will definitely purchase this one.

French Rose Clay with rhassoul is a gentle, exfoliating and polishing treatment appropriate for all skin conditions. Actively draws pimples and blackheads to the surface leaving skin clear, clean and refreshed.

27) evanhealy Rose Vetiver Day Moisturizer: evanhealy makes such high quality clean skincare, and  the whole line is so affordable. I really liked this cream, but the travel size didn't provide enough product for me to see any sort of longer-term results. I will say that it is very moisturizing without feeling heavy, and it has a lovely earthy rose aroma.

Our balancing and protective Rose Vetiver Day Moisturizer is a daily moisturizing skin treatment that enlivens and balances combination dry/oily skin with the nourishing and regenerating essential oils of rose geranium, carrot seed and vetiver. Added to this are the antioxidant plant allies of artisan-distilled extracts of mallow, horsetail and green tea. Organic plant and seed oils of Argan, Sunflower and Jojoba combine to deeply moisturize, soften, create suppleness and protect skin without feeling heavy or waxy.

28) Kanebo SENSAI Total Lip Treatment: This is more of a lip cream than a traditional balm, but it is very moisturizing. I didn't use it long enough to see any long term benefits, but I did like the way that my lips looked and felt while using it. I think that I might have another sample somewhere, and will decide whether it's worth getting after I have used it up.

A silky soft texture that smooths lines and vertical wrinkles for a naturally fuller, younger and beautifully defined lip zone.

29) Moroccanoil Body Soufflé: I really like this lightweight, but super emollient, moisturizer. It has a delicious scent, and it leaves my skin so soft and moisturized. I'm not sure whether I will buy a jar, but I really do like it a lot.

MOROCCANOIL Body Soufflé features an antioxidant-rich formula with argan oil and creamy shea butter to drench your skin with much-needed moisture. It transforms the skin from the very start, leaving it soft, smooth and delicately fragranced.
Sample Packets: Since most sample packets don't provide enough product for more than a few uses, I often use samples of face creams and lotions on my hands and body when I travel. It's an easy way to travel light, and of course they are TSA compliant– making then super convenient.

30) Pureology Hydrate Shampoos and Conditioners: Normally I wouldn't bother commenting on sample packets of haircare products, but I have full size bottles of their Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner (not my first bottles, either), and I love love love them! This line provides extraordinary hydration, and it leaves hair soft, manageable and frizz-free. It also is color safe, and smells divine!

Pureology Hydrate Condition reveals soft, lustrous hair while protecting colour vibrancy with this luxurious, concentrated daily hydrating conditioner. The exclusive AntiFadeComplex maximizes colour retention.

Features:
  • Intensely hydrate without weighing hair
  • For concentrated natural conditioning
  • Awakens the senses with an energizing, refreshing fragrance
  • Replenishes parched hair with movement and manageability
  • Rehydrates lightened and chemically relaxed hair
  • Minimizes static
31) Terax Leave-In Conditioners: I have a full size bottle of one of the Terax Leave-In Conditioners (review forthcoming) that I use every time that I shampoo my hair because it immediately detangles it and gives me added moisture. This is one of those rare instances that I may actually finish it before getting around to reviewing it because I use it with such frequency. I also use it in between shampoos when my hair seems a little dry, or needs some taming. I definitely see more bottles of this in my future!

Terax Life Drops is a leave in protein conditioner designed to close the cuticle after washing and treatment to seal in color and lock in moisture. Silk and Wheat Protein help to strengthen and repair damaged hair, while Sunflower Seed Extract helps to preserve and extend the life of your color treatment. Use with either of Terax's Crema rinse out conditioners to pH balance the hair.

32) Alchemie Forever Eye Balms: While a couple of packets don't provide enough use to formulate a really meaningful opinion, I did really like how well this balm moisturized my under eye area.

Alchimie Forever Rejuvenating Eye Balm moisturizes, firms and illuminates the delicate eye contour for a more youthful appearance. Jojoba seed oil and cocoa butter increase elasticity while detoxifying alfalfa extract provides vitamin K to diminish dark circles. Grape seed and blueberry extracts protect, heal and nourish with antioxidants to prevent environmental damage.

33) Assorted EO Face Oils, Serums, Moisturizers: There really wasn't enough product in each packet to say something very meaningful, but I have used several of their full size skincare products, and have to say that I am very impressed by the line.

34) Love Life Skin assorted packets: I have a couple of their full size products that I really like. I will give an in-depth assessment in my upcoming reviews.

35) Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream: This is a rich and lovely cream, and I think that it would be perfect for someone with dry, mature skin. For me, it was too rich for my face, but was lovely for my neck, décolleté and hands.

36) diptyque Ombre Dans L'eau: A lovely scent, but it didn't work well with my particular body chemistry. Instead, I spritzed it on my bathroom towels, and it smelled utterly divine!

Like a glorious green riverside English garden, L'Ombre Dans L'eau is fresh and delicate, yet luscious, too. Amid the rustling of petals and fruit trees, roses blend with blackcurrant leaves in a bouquet that is heady, sensual and sophisticated. From the legendary French perfume house, Diptyque, L'Ombre Dans L'eau is worn and adored by both women and men. This warm and captivating fragrance is ideal for evening wear.

37) diptyque Eau Duelle: I thought that Duelle would smell amazing on me, but it didn't. Like Ombre Dans L'eau, it didn't mesh with my chemistry and was happily relegated to being the guardian of my towels, and it made my bathroom smell sublime.

Vanilla being an adventurous soul, Diptyque has taken her along the Spice Route, the promise of dreams, distant horizons, and all that is exotic. Over the course of vanilla’s wondrous wanderings, she drinks in the exhilarating spices, each blending with her essence in a fragrant fusion.

38) L'Artisan Parfumeur Paris La Chasse Aux Papillons: I thought that this was going to be too sweet and floral for my liking, but I was pleasantly surprised that it worked with my chemistry. On me, it dried down to a beautiful white floral– so lovely was it, that I may buy a bottle.

Chasing butterflies, surrounded by white flowers. A fragrance icon, perfect for summer days. Imagine a summer garden flooded with sunshine, full of delicate white flowers, jasmine, orange blossom, tuberose and lime blossom; scents mingling to intoxicate the senses. Sunlight catches the wings of butterflies as they dart among the trees and flowers. Somewhere in the garden you can hear the laughter of children as they chase the butterflies, trying in vain to catch them as they escape on a sunny breeze. This is La Chasse aux Papillons (Chasing Butterflies), the scent of sun-kissed skin, luminous and transparent; a fragrance to make the summer months last that little bit longer. Notes: Linden blossom, Jasmine, Lemon blossom, Tuberose.

39) By Terry Lumière D'Epices: This is a very lovely scent, but I wasn't able to wear it long enough to really see how well it worked on my skin. Hopefully I have a couple more vials laying around to try it a little longer.

Vibrant and sparkling, the fragrance opens a refreshing symphony of citrus notes. The bitterness of grapefruit, the blood orange zest and bergamot: awakening the heart, fresh as jasmine water, it is contagiously chic. With facets of roses and orange blossoms, it seems oxygenated, like fresh air. Indian sambac jasmine, with honeyed tones gives warmth together with orange blossom absolute, spices and dry woods. Muscat, clove and cedarwood bring this contemporary composition to life. A distinctively elegant fragrance with a luminously vibrant bouquet.

40) TOM FORD Black Orchid: I was sure that I wouldn't like the way that this would smell on me, but once it dried down and the edges mellowed, it became a gorgeous and hypnotic spicy floral.

A luxurious and sensual fragrance, Tom Ford Black Orchid with its rich dark accords and alluring potion of black orchids and spice is new and timeless. Notes: bergamot, citrus accord, mandarin, gardenia, jasmine, ylang-ylang, lotus, orchid spicy floral accord, orchid, patchouli, sandalwood, incense, vanilla.

I would definitely say that I surprised myself by the sheer number of samples that I used up. That said, I didn't make much of a dent on my full-sized products.

What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in November? Any real winners or duds to report? Do share!
