Elina Organics Vitamin C Elixir is a nourishing serum that contains Vitamin C, Rose Hips, Almond Oil, Green Tea and Sea Buckthorn to nourish and even skin complexions. Created by Cosmetic Chemist & Celebrity Esthetician, Elina Fedotova, who is also the founder of Elina Organics & Spas (located in Michigan and Florida), this serum is remarkably effective. In addition to the high potency Vitamin C, Elina also incorporates other ingredients into her skincare line in order to deliver truly effective products that do precisely what they claim. 

This serum, which has the consistency and appearance of a lightweight moisturizer, melts into the skin and offers it immediate nourishment and hydration. If you have normal to combination skin, like me, then you can actually use this gem as your daily moisturizer, and if you have dry skin, then you will want to use it as a serum underneath your moisturizer. It also brightens the complexion, it fades hyperpigmentation and scars over time, and it soothes irritated skin. My skin is left soft, smooth, supple, brightened and with a pronounced clarity. It has a light herbal aroma, informed by its ingredients, not added fragrance, but it dissipates altogether once it is absorbed by the skin.

Elina Organics Baikal Crystal Balm is a rich and intensely moisturizing balm that nourishes the skin, and leaves it balanced, calm and restored. It is formulated to soothe and heal inflamed, damaged and bruised skin, and it also works wonders on chapped skin. I like to use it on my face and body, and have found it particularly effective on my dry and chapped hands and cuticles. It can be used in the daytime or nighttime, and while it is rich, it melts into the skin effortlessly. It has no detectable aroma, and therefore it should not be a problem for people with sensitivities to fragrant skincare products.

Elina Organics Leave On Under Eye Recovery Mask Review

Elina Organics Leave On Under Eye Recovery Mask is an antioxidant-rich and emollient nighttime eye mask that deeply nourishes and hydrates the skin. While it is rich, it does not cause milia for me, and it does absorb nicely. Elina Organics suggests using a dime size amount, but I find that I only need to use a tiny little bit for both of my eyes. It softens the appearance of fine lines and it also reduces the appearance of dark circles. Furthermore, when I awaken my skin is plumped, soft, hydrated and radiant. I tried it as an eye cream during the day and found it quite effective as well. It contains no added fragrance, but there is a very faint aroma from the natural ingredients.

Containing Vitamin C (30%) and white truffle mushroom extract, this eye area recovery mask is very rich, nourishing, and hydrating. It will immediately help to restore and firm the area.

Elina Organics Cranberry Rose Skin Refiner is an antioxidant-rich exfoliator that is filled with vitamins and nourishing ingredients that protect the skin, while fruit enzymes and little exfoliating particles remove dead skin cells. It can be used on the face, lips, neck and décolleté, and it is gentle enough that people with dry and sensitive skin should be able to use it without irritation. I like to gently massage it into my skin and then let it sit for a few minutes so that the fruit enzymes can really work their magic. The end result is silky-smooth, soft, hydrated skin with pronounced clarity. This product has the texture of a fruit compote with a light aroma informed by the natural ingredients.

Elina Organics makes so many fantastic products, and my most recent discovery is the Elina Organics Skin Recovery Protective Healing Cream. This multipurpose healing cream is a true skincare warrior. It heals acne, Rosacea and calms irritated and inflamed skin. It also works wonders on maskne, dry and chapped skin, and essentially helps heal a wide variety of unpleasant and uncomfortable skin issues. Lately my skin has been a bit dehydrated (heated interiors, cooler exteriors) and I have had some breakouts, and this cream has helped hydrate my skin and heal the breakouts. It is a lightweight and fast absorbing cream with the consistency of a light lotion or serum, and it has an herbal aroma that dissipates quickly. This is the type of medicine cabinet product to have on hand for those times that you need an effective healing formula.

A lot of products for acne-prone and inflamed complexions have a drying effect on the skin. This cream is specifically formulated for irritated, inflamed, stressed, and acne-prone dry complexion. As the weather and seasons start to transition, cooler temperatures also signal another important change. It’s time to adjust your skincare regimen and protect your skin differently during the Fall and Winter months. Elina Fedotova, celebrity esthetician and owner of Elina Organics Spas and Skincare, offers her top 8 tips for how to properly care for your skin, sharing everything from how to naturally seal in moisture to picking the best facial services to try.

1. Change Your Skincare Products

I firmly believe that we should not use the exact same skin care products continuously for a long time, no matter what the climate zone is that we live in. In two or three months, your skin can become acclimated to a particular formula and you will start becoming immune to it. In other words, you will notice the effectiveness of the product less and less. To avoid this problem, we sometimes need to change our skin routine.

I seasonally adjust every formula for my clients using only fresh botanicals. The effects of the formulations will stay the same whether it is to fight wrinkles, heal acne, or reduce irregular pigmentation, etc. The active ingredients in my products will remain the same, but the composition will vary just enough to keep your skin responsive and gain the best possible results.

2. Choose Emollients

Another reason to swap out your face creams is due to seasonal weather changes. Your skin care products should be more emollient in the winter and lighter in the summer in order to compensate for the effects of seasonal weather changes. In the northern states when winter could be harsh, our skin is at a higher risk of becoming over dried from intense winds outside and dry heat indoors. The blood vessels in your face and hands also become fragile from drastic temperature changes, as well. This is why we need to definitely use moisturizers with more emollience like shea butter, castor oil, avocado oil, etc.

3. Don’t Be Scared of Waxes

Plant and animal-based ingredients as well as bees wax and other natural waxes help to create a protective film over the skin which helps to prevent transdermal water loss and seal moisture in. You can also consider the same approach for the drier climate areas like in the desert or high in the mountains. In those climates, we have to prevent moisture evaporation from your skin.

4. Create a Special Routine for Travel

Do not forget to change your regimen when you travel. If you are flying in the middle of January from Michigan to Florida for vacation, stop using your heavy day cream because you may experience oily shine and even a few breakouts. If you have a normal to oily prone complexion when in warm climates with high humidity, your skin may do the best with the use of only treatment serums and sunscreen.

5. Incorporate Skin Polishing Services     

It is sad to say goodbye to the beautiful summer. But on the bright side, we are getting into the seasons when we can really focus on deep skin rejuvenating procedures. In the summer time, we have to be careful and try to avoid services like photo facials because these types of services make us more photo sensitive. The winter season is the perfect time to say goodbye to your freckles and hyperpigmentation, little wrinkles and anything related to sun damage. We can actively start requesting services that use natural acid and enzyme peels, microdermabrasion, and other skin polishing procedures. We can also start to actively do photo rejuvenation. If you are coming for hydra facials, make sure that your skin is really protected with heavier creams enriched with oils and butters. As you know, if you expose really wet skin to the harsh winds, you can get frost bite. So, be careful in the winter with hydra facials and toners and use a heavier moisturizer before you go outside. It is also a great time for more intense procedures like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and Dermapen treatments

6. Try Herbal, Protein Rich Facials

I suggest doing facials that contain masks with a high concentration of proteins and phospholipids to support the skins protective barrier. Facials with the use of honey and natural fruit acids will brighten, hydrate, and heal the skin after being wind burned. During the winter months, our skin usually looks pale and dull. To bring more natural color to the skin, you can do procedures with intense manual massage like Gua Sha stone massage, EMF, or microcurrent. This will increase circulation and will bring color and tone to your face. I wouldn’t suggest Cryo facials if you live in the colder states, I would take advantage of herbal facials with organic botanicals and warm compresses and skin nourishing masks made with whole plant ingredients.

7. Plug-In Your Humidifier

If you are sitting in the office or in your home with a heater, use a humidifier to prevent your skin from becoming very dry.

8. Shower Smarter

Sometimes in the cold months, we feel achy so many people love to take long hot showers in the morning or take a bath and that is very understandable. However, you need to remember that those long hot showers can lead to over drying your skin, especially in the winter. I do not suggest doing this on a regular basis. Instead of soap, you can use an oil-based sugar or sea salt scrub on the body. Also, you can use butter based polishing masks preferably with probiotics because it will help your skin’s microbiome which is essentially important for protective functions on your skin.
