While there isn't a magic elixir that will turn back the hands of time and transform you from 40 to 20 again, there are nice serums and creams that can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Two such products, from Vitabrid C¹², definitely help, and while they reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, they simultaneously nourish, moisturize and protect the skin against free-radical damage. For me, this wonderful K-Beauty brand is tried and true, and I reach for their effective products every single day! Each of these products can be used separately, but they are even more effective when used together.

Vitabrid C¹² Wrinkle Serum ($72.00 for 1.01 oz. from Vitabrid C¹² and Amazon): This wonderful antioxidant-rich serum offers skin incredible hydration and protection from free-radical damage. It boasts a blend of novel peptides that help boost collagen production, and the result is the appearance of firmer skin and plumped fine lines. Their antioxidant formula, which is infused with Niacinamide, Bisabolol and Citric Acid, helps to brighten the skin and fade hyperpigmentation. The serum is mid-weight, fast absorbing, non-sticky and fragrance-free, and it leaves my skin soft, supple, smooth and incredibly luminous.

Vitabrid C¹² Wrinkle Cream ($70.00 for 1.69 oz. from Vitabrid and Amazon): This is a mid-weight rich cream that melts into the skin, and the Shea Butter delivers serious moisture. Stabilized Vitamin C helps to even skin tone and lighten hyperpigmentation, and the novel peptides help plump fine lines leaving the skin smoother looking in appearance. This ultra-luxe, and velvety-textured, cream is such a pleasure to use and it makes skin look and feel exquisite. While I do not have wrinkles, I do have some fine expression lines, and this cream has definitely softened their appearance. There is no fragrance, and therefore people who are sensitive to fragrant skincare products will not have any problems with this cream in that regard.

I realized that I should hurry up and review my jar of The Organic Pharmacy Rose Plus Anti-Ageing Face Cream before I finished it. I hit the bottom of the jar, and while I still have a few weeks left before it is empty, I thought it wise to talk about it while I am still using, and coveting, the last bits of this tremendous jar. I should preface this by stating that I have every intention of purchasing a replacement as soon as I make a dent in a few other face creams, but this one is worth every cent!

The Organic Pharmacy Rose Plus Anti-Aging Face Cream is a phenomenal, ultra-potent antioxidant-rich anti-aging face cream that is very effective, makes a visible difference, and does so without harmful chemicals. As you can see from the picture at the bottom of this post, I am a big fan of The Organic Pharmacy, and I always have several of their products in my weekly, if not daily, skincare product rotation.

Rose Plus Anti-Aging Face Cream is a light to mid-weight face cream that is concentrated and that sinks into the skin immediately. This nutrient-rich cream leaves behind no greasy film, but instead leaves skin with a healthy glow. Overall Assessment: In my humble opinion, this cream embodies the perfect antioxidant-rich, anti-aging luxury face cream, and it does so without any harmful chemicals. Another jar is on the horizon for me! A+

LifeCell BB Cream, Lip Plumping Treatment & All-In-One Anti-Aging Treatment | Review

I have to confess that I had never heard of LifeCell until a couple of my readers asked my thoughts about the line. Soon thereafter, I was offered LifeCell products to review, and I decided to give them a try, and I am glad that I did. LifeCell is an anti-aging line that boasts "dermatologist tested ingredients inspired by Nobel Prize Winning Science." 

LifeCell All-In-One Anti-Aging Treatment ($189.00 for 2.54 oz.): This lightweight, fast absorbing multipurpose moisturizer is fragrance-free, hypoallergenic and cruelty-free. In an effort reduce the appearance of wrinkles, LifeCell selected effective anti-aging ingredients, such as DMAE, Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C to deliver tangible results. 

While I do not have any deep-set wrinkles, I do have some fine lines (mostly expression lines), and I did notice that they appeared softened and lifted after using LifeCell All-In-One Anti-Aging Treatment for a couple of weeks. Ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid definitely plump fine lines, but the light-­reflecting microtechnology further enhances this effect by blurring lines and imperfections.

Furthermore, this multi-tasker delivers all-day lasting moisture for my normal/combination skin, and leaves it soft and supple. If you have deep wrinkles, I can't advise you as to the efficacy of this product, but I can say that I noticed a softening of my fine lines after a few weeks of use.

LifeCell BB Cream in Light ($47.00 for 1 oz.): I have always preferred the look and feel of tinted moisturizers and BB creams over full-coverage foundations. I like my makeup to enhance, rather than conceal, and whenever possible I prefer them to be infused with skincare ingredients that treat the skin.

LifeCell's BB Cream provides the perfect amount of hydration, nourishing ingredients and color correction. It leaves skin soft, supple, even-in-tone and protected from the sun. I also note a pronounced luminosity and a blaring of any imperfections.

According to LifeCell,

This hydrating Beauty Balm provides all day moisture, SPF 30 protection and enough coverage to reduce the appearance of imperfections. With its ultra-smoothing ingredients, it creates a velvety canvas by diminishing the appearance of pores, fine lines and uneven skin tone. LifeCell Lip Plumping Treatment ($49.00 for .16 oz.): Over the years I have tried numerous lip plumping formulas, and have found many to be far too irritating for my lips. I am generally a bit wary to try lip plumpers for this reason– unless they specifically indicate that the formula is non-irritating.

I immediately noticed an increase in the volume of my lips with LifeCell Lip Plumper, and there was no discomfort, burning or tingling. Upon application I detected the slight scent of Cinnamon Oil, and I found it quite pleasant. It did, however, fade away entirely after less than a minute. The finish has a lovely sheen, and the color is a very sheer pink whose pigment is virtually indiscernible on the lips.

Overall Assessment: I like what I have tried, and am now curious about a few of their other products. From what I can tell, you can only purchase their products through their website– therefore you can't test them out in a store which I know some of you really prefer.

Cold weather means battered dry hands from the elements and the excessive hand-washing that hands are subject to during the cold and flu season. If you add alcohol-laden hand sanitizers to your routine, then your hands end up even more chapped and dehydrated, and the answer for me is always richer hand creams rather than lighter weight lotions.

I have recently received a large number of requests for the recommendation of an ultra soothing and comforting face cream that is capable of working wonders on very irritated skin. The variety of concerns ranged from dry and irritated skin from the recent cold weather, to particularly inflamed and reactive skin (post peel or post microdermabrasion), to Rosacea flareups. 

While my skin is decidedly normal to combination, it can be reactive, and the shift to colder weather can wreak havoc on my skin. When I want extra moisture, and a potent anti-aging night cream that works wonders on inflamed and irritated skin, Colbert MD Soothe Night Cream is my moisturizer of choice. It is ultra-soothing, luxuriously rich in moisture, and exceedingly lightweight. It sinks into skin quickly and leaves skin luminous and deeply moisturized.
