It cleanses the skin thoroughly and leaves it hydrated, but without a greasy film. It washes clean and skin is left feeling comfortable and never stripped. There is no detectable scent and it forms a very satisfying lather– it is such a pleasure to use and it makes my skin feel so soft and supple. Dr. Althea Melaclear Cream is formulated to fade dark spots, and skin discoloration. It is a good pick if you have hyper-pigmentation, but before using anything to treat discoloration, it is imperative to see your doctor to make sure that the spots that you are seeking to treat are not precancerous or cancerous lesions, moles, oddly shaped and oddly colored skin, and the like. I regularly have my doctor check my skin– especially since I live in Southern California– since I am exposed to sun most months out of the year. I neither have acne, nor acne scarring, but this cream is formulated to help fade those marks on the skin as well.

This cream has the consistency and appearance of an ointment, but it is a little lighter in weight. It is a spot-treatment product and therefore one only needs to apply it to the impacted areas of the skin. I have used it on a spot of discoloration on my face– from sun damage– and it is slowly starting to get a bit lighter.

My skin, which is largely normal with some activity in my t-zone, is perfectly suited to this type of facial cream. Dr. Althea Stretchfit Calming Pad is best described as an unusual sheet mask that actually stretches to adapt to wherever you place it on the face, neck or body. It has no detectable scent, and it drenches the skin with hydration. It is very soothing and calming on the skin, and since my skin can get irritated and inflamed when I use products that make my skin reactive, I have been able to test whether it really does calm irritated skin. In fact, I used this mask after a product irritated my skin and left it a bit red and uncomfortable, and it really calmed down after I masked. It comes with tweezers to lift the individual sheets, and a small paddle to separate the sheets for ease of retrieval. I like that it comes in one large tub, rather than in 50 individually wrapped masks since it is more environmentally friendly.

ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil Review

As you likely already know, I am a huge fan of double-cleansing, and each morning when I wash my face I start with a cleansing oil, and then use a regular cleanser afterward. I love how this ritual feels, and appreciate the extent to which it gently and effectively cleans my skin. 

I recently discovered ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil, and like their other products that I have tried, I have found this to be particularly effective and pleasant to use. This cleansing oil has a medium weight texture, but it immediately turns into a milky emulsion when water is introduced. It rinses completely clean, and leaves skin soft, clean and never in the least bit dry. It has a light citrusy-aroma and it is so pleasant to use. It removes every bit of makeup, but I don't use it to remove my eye makeup because I always use a dedicated eye makeup remover. This is a lovely cleansing oil!
