Molton Brown Tobacco Absolute Bath & Shower Gel is a warm, woodsy, tobacco and leather aromatic fusion that may be considered more masculine, but if you love to wear fragrances like Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, which is one of my very favorite fragrances, then you will delight in this bath and shower gel. Cold Nights, Broken Heart, Good Soak

Mustela is a wonderful skincare brand for babies and mothers, but you neither have to be a baby, nor the mother of a baby to love their nourishing products. 

Their Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath has been one of my most beloved and most reach-for pampering products during this scary time of social-distancing, and during the recent stay-at-home mandate. It has also given me the comfort that I have sought since Milo's death this week. Sitting in a nice warm bubble bath definitely helps ease tensions, and while it certainly doesn't make everything right with the world, it does help.

This bubble bath is hydrating and it is very gentle on even the most sensitive skin. My skin is left clean, soft, smooth and pampered. It has a light and clean aroma that is very pleasant and relaxing, but it is not overwhelming in the least bit.

If you are enchanted by the distinctive aroma for which NUXE Dry Oil Huile Prodigieux is best known, then their Prodigieux Beautifying Scented Body Lotion is an absolute must-have! The warm, nutty floral aroma is utterly delectable and intoxicatingly hypnotic.

Current Mustela Bath Obsessions That Aren't Just for Babies!

While Mustela products, which are made in France, are generally associated with caring for the skin of  babies, children and new and expecting mothers– their products are actually perfect for everyone. All of their products are dermatologically tested, hypoallergenic, gentle on sensitive skin, eco-friendly and they do not include ingredients such as parabens, phthalates or phenoxyethanol. Here are a few of my current Mustela cleansing favorites:

Mustela Limited Edition Soothing Cleansing Gel ($16.50 for 16.09 oz from Amazon): This super creamy lathering cleansing gel is fragrance-free, soothing against even the most sensitive skin and it thoroughly cleans without any stripping or drying. In fact, it leaves skin lightly moisturized and comfortable.

Our fragrance-free and biodegradable formula is specifically designed for babies and children with very sensitive, rashy or reactive skin. Mustela Limited Edition Nourishing Cleansing Gel with Cold Cream ($16.50 for 16.09 oz. from Mustela and Amazon): One might imagine that the inclusion of cold cream would mean that this is a non-lathering cleansing gel, and yet it has the most satisfying creamy lather. It has the same pleasant, warm and creamy aroma as the Mustela Limited Edition Gentle Cleansing Gel, but it is neither cloying, nor too long lasting. It leaves skin soft, smooth, supple and hydrated, and it is never drying or stripping.

Mustela Limited Edition Gentle Cleansing Gel ($16.50 for 16.09oz from Mustela and Amazon): This ultra-gentle cleansing gel forms a very satisfying lather that thoroughly and gently cleans the skin without stripping or drying the skin. It leaves skin soft and hydrated, and can be used as a shampoo and body cleanser. It has a very pleasant, warm and creamy aroma, but it isn't powerful or long-lasting, but if you prefer fragrance-free body products, I would recommend the Mustela Limited Edition Soothing Cleansing Gel instead.

Mustela Stelatopia Cleansing Cream ($13.00 for 6,76oz. from Mustela and Amazon): This cleansing cream has a very light lather, rather than a rich lather, and it is incredibly soothing, calming and hydrating for even the most sensitive skin. It has no detectable fragrance and it washes clean without leaving behind any residue or greasiness. While it is perfect for babies with eczema-prone skin, I find that it has the perfect consistency and texture for shaving my legs.

Olbas Oil and Herbal Bath Offer Relief for Cold & Flu Season

Now that we are in the midst of cold and flu season, and since I currently have a nasty head cold, I thought that I would share two products from which I have sought relief. While these Olbas products have not cured my cold, they have offered me considerable relief from my stuffy nose and my overall sense of malaise. Olbas, a Swiss company that is over 100 years old, offers an assortment of essential oils, remedies and even cough lozenges and salves that are sure to relieve symptoms and discomfort associated with colds, allergies and even achy muscles.

Olbas Herbal Bath ($9.49 for 4 oz. and $16.99 for 8 oz. from Olbas, CVS and Swanson Health): At the beginning of my cold I opted to take hot baths rather than showers to try to soak away some of my discomfort, to try to open up my sinus passages, and to give me an overall sense of wellbeing. This lovely Herbal Bath has a wonderful foam,  and its invigorating peppermint-eucalyptus aroma awakens the senses and helps to open up sinus passages. Furthermore, it soothes achy muscles and refreshes the senses. You definitely want to make sure to avoid contact with your eyes!

According to Olbas,

Directions and Suggested Uses:

Tub: Add 2-4 tablespoonfuls to tub of hot water. If foam is desired, add to running water.

Foot or Sponge Bath: Add 1-2 tablespoonfuls to each gallon of hot water.

Olbas Oil Aromatherapy Inhalant and Massage Oil ($9.50 for 0,32 oz. and $19.99 for .95 oz. from Penn Herb, CVS and Swanson Health): There are numerous ways to use this therapeutic oil, but two of my favorite ways are very simple for treating my cold. First, one can simply sniff it directly from the bottle (which I will do for allergies, but not for my cold because of the germs). Rather than contaminating the bottle directly you can decant a small amount into a little container that you can dispose of after use. Second, one can add about 20 drops of the oil to a bowl of hot water and place a towel over the head and inhale the vapors for about 5-10 minutes. I also have experimented with soaking a wash cloth in water infused with a few drops and simply sniff it when I start to feel congested, and it definitely offers some relief.

Nighttime- Simply sprinkle 5-10 drops on a tissue and tuck inside a pillowcase. For aching bodies: cold compresses feel refreshing on the forehead.

Overall Assessment: These two products have really offered me considerable relief from my cold, and I will definitely make sure to keep them on hand.

Nubian Heritage makes some of my very favorite eco-friendly bath and body products, and my current obsession is with their Olive Oil & Green Tea Collection. These nourishing products have a lovely light, clean green aroma that is uplifting and refreshing without being in the least bit overpowering.

Nubian Heritage Olive Oil & Green Tea Body Lotion ($12.99 for 13 oz. from Nubian Heritage,  iHerb, The Vitamin Shoppe and Swanson Vitamins): This ultra-luxe lotion is rich, creamy, very moisturizing and fast-absorbing. It leaves skin soft, supple, radiant and with a light aromatic veil.

Nubian Heritage Olive Oil & Green Tea Infused Shea Butter ($13.99 for 4 oz. from Nubian Heritage): This is a rich and emollient shea butter balm that is very nourishing and moisturizing. It is very concentrated, and therefore very little is needed to heal and moisturize dry chapped skin. I simply warm up a small amount between my palms and once it heats up I massage it into my hands, feet, elbows and anywhere that I have dry skin. Its Olive Oil and Green Tea aroma is subtle, but very uplifting.

In fact, it hydrates and nourishes the skin while the green tea leaves offer gentle exfoliation for the removal of dead skin cells. The aroma is intoxicating and exhilarating, and it fills the shower with its fresh green essence.
