Purchased and Press Samples

May turned out to be a decent month for finishing up 7 full-size skin and body care products. I would happily use all of these products again, but it will likely be a while before I repurchase some of them because I have so many products to use up before purchasing more. 

Here is what I finished it May:

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel: is an utterly magnificent and delightful gel-to oil cleanser that effortlessly emulsifies when water is introduced. Apply a small amount of the gel to dry skin, and gently massage it until it melts and turns into an oil. Then you add a small amount of warm water and it immediately transforms into a white emulsion, and you simply rinse your face or remove it with a damp wash cloth or muslin cloth. It is gentle, it effectively removes every trace of dirt and makeup and leaves skin soft, smooth, supple and hydrated. It leaves behind no oily residue, and does not require double cleansing– unless of course you prefer double cleansing. It works wonders on my normal/combination skin, and it is a considerable joy to use. It has a very light and pleasant aroma, but it is not long lasting and rinses away without incident. ($56.00 for 100ml/ 3.4 oz. from Oskia London, Space NK, Nordstrom, Cult Beauty, and Bloomingdale's). Purchase Again? Oh yes, this is one of the most amazing cleansers that I have ever used!

Vitabrid C¹² Daily-C Balancing Foam Cleanser: is a luxe lathering cleanser that thoroughly cleans the skin without stripping it in the least bit. It gently removes dead skin cells, dirt and makeup while retaining moisture levels. Kaolin clay absorbs excess oil and helps to draw out impurities while the papaya fruit extract gently exfoliates dead skin cells. Stable Vitamin C brightens the skin, while Nelumbo nucifera flower extract soothes and calms the skin. My normal/combination skin is left balanced, clear and hydrated. Furthermore, my skin is left soft and smooth. It has a faint non-distinct aroma, from the ingredients, as opposed to added fragrance. ($32.00 for 4.06 oz/120ml. from Vitabrid and Nordstrom). Purchase Again? It is very likely, but I need to use up a few of my other cleansers first.

Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer: While this is described as a rich moisturizer for dry and dehydrated skin, I can tell you that it is a godsend for my normal/combination skin. It is ultra-lightweight and fast absorbing, and yet richly moisturizing. The consistency is silky-smooth and the aroma is a light and hypnotic blend of the the essential oils blend, and therefore it creates such an immensely pleasurable tactile and olfactory sensation. Skin is left soft, smooth, supple and hydrated. Furthermore, fine lines are plumped and skin is left with a luminous dewy finish. ($105.00 for 1.7 oz. from Sephora, Nordstrom, Net-A-Porter, The Detox Market, Credo Beauty, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges and Bergdorf Goodman). Purchase Again? Perhaps at some point, but I am currently swimming in moisturizers that I need to use first.

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream is a very rich and emollient cream that is deceptively thin in texture, and yet its richness becomes evident as you massage it into the skin. The texture is heavier than expected, but it melts into the skin in such a satisfying and luxurious way. You can really feel the richness imparted by the presence of the nourishing Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, and Shea Butter. Therefore, it is no surprise that it is aptly called The Rich Cream, and that it was formulated for normal to dry skin, more mature skin and for skin subjected to colder and drier climates. My normal/combination skin would dictate that I should have tried Augustinus Bader's The Cream, rather than The Rich Cream, but my penchant for face oils made me more interested in the ingredients used in the latter, rather than the former. 

I use this ultra-nourishing cream twice a day and I find it intensely moisturizing, without being in the least bit greasy. My skin had a pronounced clarity, and it was vibrant, luminous, soft and supple after about a week of use. I noted that going through the full month of use, when I first bagan using it, to coincide with a full skin cell turnover cycle, was a very wise choice. My skin had the same freshness and clarity that I experience when I regularly exfoliate my skin, but without exfoliating a single time in that 30+ day trial period, and that is quite remarkable to me. I also noted that my little spot of hyperpigmentation had faded considerably and my fine lines were noticeably softened.

While this is no doubt a very hyped product, and brand for that matter, I am very impressed by its efficacy and my results. This is an ultra-luxe face cream, with a price tag to match, but I am elated by the results and by the way it makes my skin look and feel. If you have normal to dry skin, then The Rich Cream is the right choice for you. If you have combination to oily skin, then it will likely be far too rich for you. It is definitely worth trying to get a sample, or purchasing the smallest size to try, or you could do what I did and wait for a Sephora sale since this is such a luxury splurge. I guess the biggest question is whether I like it enough to repurchase it again, or to try more Augustinus Bader products, and the answer is yes to both. However, I will definitely wait for another Sephora sale since this cream is so expensive. ($89.00 for 0.5 oz, $175.00 for 1 oz. and $280.00 for 1.75 oz.from Sephora, Nordstrom, Cult Beauty, Neiman Marcus, Violet Grey, Revolve, Net-A-Porter, Bluemercury, Bergdorf Goodman, Space NK, Saks Fifth Avenue and John Lewis). Purchase Again? ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT QUESTION!

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Intensive Hand Cream in Vanilla Apricot is a very rich, exceedingly hydrating hand cream that is packed with good-for-you antioxidant-rich ingredients. It is lightweight and fast absorbing, but isn't in the least bit greasy. Chapped hands are immediately rendered soft, smooth, supple and hydrated. The Vanilla Apricot fragrance is the perfect blend of the two scents that together create a warm and creamy fruity floral aroma. ($40.00 for 4.6 oz. from Josie Maran). Purchase Again? Maybe once I use up a few more of my hand creams, but this one is truly lovely!

Mustela Gentle Cleansing Gel is an ultra-gentle cleansing gel that forms a very satisfying lather. It thoroughly and gently cleans without stripping or drying the skin. It leaves skin soft and hydrated, and can be used as a shampoo and body cleanser. It has a very pleasant, warm and creamy aroma, but it isn't powerful or long-lasting. It is currently my favorite body cleanser, and it emollient enough that I can use it for shaving my legs and underarms. ($22.99 for 16.9 oz. from Target, CVS and Amazon). Purchase Again? Absolutely!

LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant: LAVANILA makes wonderful healthy deodorants that are effective and smell wonderful (though they also make an unscented variant for sensitive skin). Vanilla + Earth for Balance is described as "A warm and woody combination of patchouli and sandalwood that enhances focus and concentration." While its description might summon thoughts of a heavy woody scent punctuated by a pungent patchouli, this is a light, sweet and creamy woodsy scent infused with warm florals, and without any detectable notes from the patchouli. It has a depth and yet it isn't in the least bit overpowering. ($14.00 for 1.7 oz. from LAVANILA and Ulta). Purchase Again? Always!

Overall Assessment: I am pleased that I was able to finish 7 products in May, and I am particularly happy that I didn't have to throw away anything that went bad. What did you use up, toss out, return or give away in May? Any hero products or duds to report?

April Empties & Expired Products

I used more skincare products than I expected in the month of April. While I am pleased that I finished many skin and body care products, I am also disappointed that 5 lipsticks became rancid before I was able to finish them. They are a few years old, and I haven't really worn lipstick since the pandemic began, but it is still disappointing. However, it isn't altogether surprising that some lipsticks have been unused and expired in the last two years.

Mustela Limited Edition Soothing Cleansing Gel ($12.99 for 10.14 oz from Amazon): This super creamy lathering cleansing gel is fragrance-free, soothing against even the most sensitive skin and it thoroughly cleans without any stripping or drying. In fact, it leaves skin lightly moisturized and comfortable. Purchase Again? I just opened a new bottle!

Spongellé Bulgarian Rose Body Buffer ($18.00 from Spongellé) is a brilliant body wash-infused sponge that effectively and gently cleans and exfoliates the skin, and it also leaves it deliciously baby soft, smooth, supple and moisturized. It really excels in its ability to clean and exfoliate the skin while delighting the senses with its delightful Bulgarian Rose aroma. 

You simply dampen the Spongellé Body Wash Infused Buffers with water to activate the very satisfying lather. Each sponge is filled with enough body wash for a minimum of 14+ washes, but I always get more washes from each of their buffers. Once you have used up all of the body wash, the sponge itself is left quite intact, and therefore all you need to do is use it in conjunction with your favorite liquid or bar soaps. The hanging ribbon allows the buffer to dry out easily, but I recommend hanging it outside of the moist environment of the shower to avoid bacterial growth. Purchase Again? I have quite a few of their body buffers to use up first, but I will definitely get the Bulgarian Rose again since I really love it!

5YINA Guiying Décolletage Treatment ($65.00 for 1.6 oz. from 5YINA and Beauty Heroes): is a neck, décolleté and breast treatment balm that is ultra-emollient and richly moisturizing. Simply massage this velvety smooth balm into the neck, décolleté and breasts– though I only tend to use it on my décolleté- and it melts into the skin immediately without leaving behind a greasy residue. It is highly concentrated, and therefore only a tiny amount is needed, and its herbal aroma, from the Chinese medicinal plants used, is calming and woodsy. It is formulated to help facilitate lymphatic drainage and to improve circulation, but it also deeply moisturizes and nourishes the skin leaving it soft, smooth and luminous. Furthermore, after sustained use it improves the appearance of the texture of the skin and leaves it with improved clarity. Purchase Again? At some point, perhaps, but I have too many open jars to finish first.

Go-To Face Hero Facial Oil ($34.00 for 1 oz. from Go-To): Formulated for all types of skin, this face oil is lightweight, fast absorbing and lusciously moisturizing. It has a rich and velvety texture that melts into the skin– leaving it silky smooth, luminous and lightly plumped. Not only does it brighten dull skin, but after sustained use it lightens dark spots. The antioxidant-rich formula helps to protect skin against free-radical damage, and the anti-inflammatory ingredients help to calm and soothe irritable skin. For this reason, I find it particularly effective when my skin is a bit sensitive, or when I use a peel or exfoliant (which I have done a lot of since March). It has a delectable warm aroma that is informed by the beautiful variety of oils used, but also from the Orange Blossom & Rose Gardenia natural fragrances. Purchase Again? I just opened my third bottle!

H is for Love Rapha Harmonizing Oil Cleanser ($58.00 for 1.69 oz. from H is for Love): This lovely cleansing oil is an ultra gentle and healing infusion of anti-inflammatory ingredients such as Calendula and Chamomile that soothe and calm irritated, sensitive and inflamed skin. This non-emulsifying formula effectively cleans the skin without ever stripping it, and in fact it offers the skin vital moisture without leaving behind a greasy residue. Simply massage a small amount into damp skin and then remove it with a warm, soft wash cloth. The biggest surprise is the extent to which this beautiful oil softens skin. The warm aroma of Chamomile is intoxicating, but without being in the least bit overpowering or cloying. Purchase Again? Once I finish up more cleansing oils!

Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator ($34.00 for 4.23 oz. from Vasanti, Amazon and Birchbox): is gentle, effective, non-stripping, and it has enough fine grit that it feels like an at-home microdermabrasion treatment. There is an abundance of fine, and uniform, exfoliating particles that do not leave my skin feeling irritated. Instead, my skin is left incredibly soft, silky-smooth and luminous. The results are immediate, and after a single use you will see a real difference.

You simply apply a pea-sized amount to damp skin and very gently use a circular motion to buff away dead skin cells. I also like to leave it on for a few minutes, either before or after manual exfoliation since it allows the enzymes to further break down the dead skin cells. My balanced to combination skin is left soft, smooth, supple and with a pronounced clarity. It is not, however, left dry, flaky or irritated. I should note that it has no discernible aroma, and therefore it should not bother people who avoid skincare products that are fragranced. Purchase Again? I will definitely think about when I use my other exfoliators!

Tossed out: I absolutely hate it when products go bad before I can finish them, but I was clearing through old makeup and I discovered that three Tom Ford Lip Color Lipsticks ($58.00 each from Nordstrom) and 2 Surratt Lipslicks ($34.00 each from Nordstrom) were rancid and the texture changed. Purchase Again? No. I have way too many lipsticks to use before buying any more.

Overall Assessment: I am pleased with what I was able to finish, but I wish that 5 lipsticks hadn't expired before I finished them. What did you use up, toss out, return or give away in April? Do tell!

May came and went so fast that I can hardly grasp the speed with which it flew by. I have continued to use up opened products before they go bad, and I have tried to reduce the overall number of products that I use at any given time. I am trying to be more mindful, less wasteful and more sustainable in my practices. I have also found that one of the small pleasures is using things that I really enjoy, and therefore the in the last few months you have probably noticed the large number of luxury products in my empties posts. 

African Botanics Pure Marula Cleansing Oil ($60.00 for 3.4 oz. from African Botanics, Net-A-Porter, Revolve and Credo Beauty): This lightweight oil is an antioxidant and omega-rich oil that was formulated to gently cleanse and purify even the most sensitive skin types while removing makeup, dead skin cells as well as pollution and other impurities. It is so gentle and effective that it neither dehydrates the skin, nor causes irritation. It is suitable for combination, sensitive and dry skin types. Repurchase? I definitely will once I finish up a few more of my open bottles of cleansing oil!

Erno Laszlo Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar ($40.00 for 3.4 oz. from Erno Laszlo, Nordstrom, Sephora, Violet Grey, Saks Fifth Avenue, Revolve, Amazon, b-glowing and Look Fantastic): Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar does an exceptional job cleaning and exfoliating my skin, and it does so without drying, stripping or irritating. Skin is left soft, clear and luminous, and while it is now said to be formulated for all skin types, it used to be for normal, combination and oily skin types. I would say that dryer skin types would only use it periodically for its deep cleaning and exfoliating abilities, but not as a daily soap. I do like to use it with a cleansing oil, but sometimes I use it alone. My one grievance is that the bar used to be a hefty 6 oz., which was far more satisfying to use, and now it is nearly half the size. Repurchase? I already have!

REN Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash ($30.00 for 6.8 oz. from REN, Sephora, Space NK and Bloomingdale's): This is a soothing and delicately fragrances body wash that not only smells utterly delicious, but it also hydrates, soothes and thoroughly cleanses the skin. It is perfect in the shower or bath, and it is emollient enough to use for shaving your legs! Repurchase? I am just about to open another bottle! I LOVE this so much!

Fruits of the Islands Toasted Coconut Glycerin Loofah Bar: Several years ago, a very good friend of mine bought me several glycerin loofah bars while on vacation in Hawaii. These appear to have come from a candy company, and they do not appear to sell these anymore, but there are many other companies who produce glycerin soap infused loofahs. They offer such a wonderful way to clean and exfoliate at the same time, and they are great for hand washing as well as bathing. Repurchase? I have one left, and will definitely consider purchasing more in the future.

Spongellé Hand Defense Hand Wash Infused Buffer ($14.00 each or $56.00 for a 4-pack from Spongellé): Spongellé Hand Defense is a wonderful new addition to the Spongellé line, and this launch offers a perfect way to thoroughly wash hands during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, you won't mind how often that you need to wash your hands given that these soap infused sponges thoroughly clean and exfoliate, plus they get into every hard to reach spot. Additionally, they don't strip the skin, but instead they leave it hydrated, soft and smooth. The four available scents are delicious, and the creamy lather is incredibly satisfying to the touch. Spongellé suggests that each sponge offers 40+ washes, but I always find that I get more washes out of all of their products than they suggest. Repurchase? I have three more to use before I will need to purchase more.

Biosilk Antibacterial Hand Soap ($6.99 for 12 oz. from Chi): This non-stripping antibacterial soap, with aloe, lavender and silk, smells heavenly and leaves hands soft and hydrated. The light lavender aroma is very pleasant, but it isn't in the least bit overpowering. Repurchase? Definitely! It made washing hands very pleasant! 

Molton Brown Rhubarb & Rose Replenishing Hand Cream ($15.00 for 1.4 oz. from Molton Brown and Nordstrom): I am completely obsessed with this hand cream because it is fast absorbing, unbelievably nourishing and hydrating, and because it smells heavenly. It leaves my hands unbelievably soft and supple, and the delectable scent lingers, but is never cloying. It is a beautifully articulated fruity floral that offers the perfect balance between the zesty citrus, Rhubarb and the Rose extract. In my book, this is hand cream perfection. Repurchase? I just opened another tube!

Rahua Hydration Shampoo ($34.00 for 9.5 oz. from Rahua, Dermstore and The Detox Market): Many shampoos claim to be moisturizing, but seldom do they deliver on such promises without leaving behind an unpleasant greasy residue that weighs hair down. Rahua, on the other hand, has in this wondrous shampoo created a delectable cleanser that has a rich and creamy lather that hydrates, rather than strips dry hair, and it never weighs it down. The first thing that you will undoubtedly note, aside from the incredible lather, is the delicious passion fruit and mango aroma– seriously, it smells so good that I often just open it up to have a sniff! The ultra-nourishing shampoo not only hydrates unruly tresses, but it also effectively fights frizz and leaves hair with a lovely shine. If you have straight hair, this is a bit easier to achieve, but if you have naturally curly hair it is a far greater challenge. If you have dry hair, frizzy hair or over-processed hair, then this is a really great shampoo choice for you. Repurchase? Eventually, but I am currently swimming in shampoo!

Rahua Hydration Conditioner ($36.00 for 9.3 oz. from Rahua, Dermstore, The Detox Market): This deeply moisturizing conditioner is perfection for dry, frizzy, damaged hair. It delivers intense hydration without leaving behind a greasy residue, or weighing down hair, and it soothes the cuticle while fighting frizz. I love to apply it and then comb it though from roots to tips, and leave it in for the duration of my shower before rinsing it out. The delectable passion fruit and mango scent is such a treat to the senses, and it lingers in the hair for a little while– though I wish it would linger all day. The first time that I used it I was astonished by the extent to which this lovely conditioner tamed my frizz, deeply nourished and hydrated my hair, and left it with a glossy shine. It also makes my hair very manageable, and leaves my curls with the most lovely soft and glossy ringlets. Repurchase? Just as soon as I need another conditioner, but that is going to be quite some time!

Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupté 20 Nude Carat: I have always loved lip glosses, but I really prefer them to be lightweight, non-sticky and beautifully shiny. This gorgeous gloss was an exquisite golden peachy nude with golden shimmer, and I loved every second that I used it. It appears that YSL has discontinued these glosses, and while I am sad I have two other shades that I will enjoy wearing. Repurchase? I might have once I had used the others, but now we will never know!

Overall Assessment: I am not sure that I will be able to finish up nearly this many products next month, but I will certainly try to use up products before opening, or buying more. What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in May? Any great discoveries or real duds to report?

February 2021 Empties Galore!

Though February is a short month, I managed to use up quite a few products. However, you will note that I disproportionately used up products for the bath more than anything else, and that was largely because I took a lot of baths from December through February. It was cold at night, and after long days on Zoom I sought refuge in a nice therapeutic soak! Here are the products that I finished up in February. 

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser ($12.00 for 1 oz., $37.00 for 4 oz and $45.00 for 6.76 oz from Suki, Amazon, Birchbox, iHerb and SkinStore): Years ago it was my only daily cleanser, and then I started LSBB and began using a far wider range of products and somehow forgot about who much I loved this gem of an exfoliating facial cleanser. The lovely formula, which has the intoxicating scent of organic lemongrass extract, uses natural sugar to exfoliate the dead skin cells leaving your skin soft and silky smooth. I find it non-stripping and non-drying for my normal/combination skin, but if you have dry skin you would likely want to use it less often. I like to activate the light lather in my hands, which also breaks down some of the sugar, then with the lightest touch I massage it into my skin and rinse thoroughly. I use it a few times a week, and I always look forward to it since it is such a delectable treat to the skin and the senses. Purchase Again? Without hesitation! 

VENeffect Firming Neck & Décolleté Creme ($155.00 for 2 oz. from VENeffect and Dermstore): is a rich and emollient, yet fast absorbing, luxurious cream that was specifically formulated to address the needs of the delicate skin of the neck and décolleté. It has a silky-smooth ultra luxurious texture that is rich enough to impart high levels of moisture, but it leaves behind no greasy residue. It is fragrance-free– therefore those among you with fragrance sensitivities can experience all of the benefits from this cream without being inundated by unwanted fragrance, and it also will not interfere with fragrances that perfume-wearers put on and around the neck and décolleté. Purchase Again? This is a really wonderful cream, but I have several others to use up before I consider buying another.

Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Velvet Violet ($27.00 for oz. from Charlotte Tilbury, Sephora, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale's, Beautylish, Selfridges, Cult Beauty and John Lewis): This is unquestionably one of my most used pencils, and it is one of the most perfect purple eyeliners that I have used. It can be built up for greater pigmentation and saturation, but it can also be worn more sparingly, and therefore less intensely. The formula is creamy and lush, and it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes. Purchase Again? I already have!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer ($32.00 from CharlotteTilbury, Nordstrom, Sephora, Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf Goodman, Beautylish, Cult Beauty, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis and Net-A-Porter): The formula is lightweight, non-creasing and it adds just a touch of luminescence to optically blur imperfections, dark circles or blemishes without being glittery. It has a nice large spongy applicator tip, and a twist dispenser, but you want to be sure not to over twist otherwise you will waste a lot of product. I apply it right after my eye cream has absorbed, and only need a little to brighten under my eye area. On those days when I get little sleep, and awaken to unsightly dark circles, this concealer does an enviable job concealing them and in giving my eyes a radiant glow. It neither settles into fine lines, nor does it become cakey. Furthermore, it does not dry out the delicate skin under my eyes, and it lasts all day on me. It offers buildable coverage, if you desire added opacity to conceal blemishes or imperfections, and it blends out perfectly. Purchase Again? Absolutely!

Molton Brown Ylang Ylang Body Wash ($32.00 for 10 oz. from Molton Brown, Neiman Marcus, Amazon and Bluemercury): Described as, "Rich, Peaceful. Harmonious," this deep, royal purple body wash is utterly divine. The scent is an elegant, rich and musky Ylang-Ylang that fills the entire bathroom with its otherworldly aroma. It relaxes the mind and body, and leaves the skin silky-smooth and soft. It is, without question, one of my all-time favorite body washes, and it also works very well as a bubble bath. Purchase Again? Absolutely, I love their products, and this one is particularly special.

Mustela Nourishing Cleansing Gel with Cold Cream ($11.99-$14.00 for 10.4 oz. from Mustela, Amazon, Target and Walmart): One might imagine that the inclusion of cold cream would mean that this is a non-lathering cleansing gel, and yet it has the most satisfying creamy lather. It has the same pleasant, warm and creamy aroma, but it is neither cloying, nor too long lasting. It leaves skin soft, smooth, supple and hydrated, and it is never drying or stripping. Purchase Again? I already have another bottle! I am a huge fan of Mustela products, and will continue to purchase from them!

Nectar Bath Treats Bubble Scoops are ice cream scoop shaped bubble baths that are such a delight to use. They come in 7 different scents, of which I have 2 to share. their delectable aromas and luxurious bubble baths are a treat to the skin and the senses. While we are in the middle of the summer, and this may not seem like the perfect season to soak in a warm bubble bath, I have found the opposite to be true. Given that we are in the midst of a global pandemic, I find that anything that soothes my spirit and calms my nerves is quite welcome. I am grateful to have these wonderful bath treats right now, and I am thoroughly enjoying them!

Nectar Bath Treats Peachy Lemon Bubble Bath Scoop Sundae ($20.00 from Nectar USA): The peachy lemon aroma is absolutely delicious, and coupled with the hydrating and creamy bubbles this is such a treat to the skin and the senses. Skin is left soft, smooth and hydrated. Nerves are left soothed and calmed! Purchase Again? Just as soon as I used up my other bath products!

Nectar Bath Treats Lychee Hibiscus Triple Bubble Bath Scoop Sundae ($20.00 from Nectar USA): The sweet and warm floral aroma is so delicious that it embodies the idea of a warm summer breeze carrying floral essences. The rich and creamy lather moisturizes the skin and leaves it soft and smooth. Shut your eyes and enjoy every moment of this luxurious bubble bath, it is dreamy! Purchase Again? Once I finish up my remaining bath products!

Nectar Sparkling Lights Bath Bomb Set was a great holiday gift set that I thoroughly enjoyed. These fizzing bath bombs come in 6 delectable scents that fill the bathroom with their magnificent individual aromas. They were fun to use and they left my skin soft and hydrated. Purchase Again? I wish that I could, but this was a LE set for the holidays, but I managed to use to full boxes (12 bath bombs) between December and February.

Kneipp Joint & Muscle Herbal Arnica Bath Oil ($20.00 for 3.38 oz. from SkinCare RX): If you have sore muscles in need of relief, then this wonderful Arnica Bath Oil offers relief, and the added benefit is that skin is left soft and moisturized. The aromatic Rosemary, Pine and Arnica Oils are warming and uplifting. Purchase Again? I have too many bath oils to use before I purchase more.

Kneipp Relaxing Lavender Bath Oil ($16.00 for 3.38 oz. from Kneipp): If you love the aroma of Lavender Oil, then you will be over the moon when you envelop your senses with this calming bath oil. In addition to leaving the skin soft, smooth and hydrated, it leaves quiets the mind and calms the spirit, and for this reason I love using it right before going to sleep. Purchase Again? Eventually.

Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil ($71.00 for 1.87 oz. from Space NK): is a delectable luxury bath and shower oil that has the soothing aroma of Rosemary punctuated by citrus and Eucalyptus. By simply adding a couple of caps to your bath, or massaging a few drops onto strategic zones of your body (torso, arms etc.) before stepping into the shower– your senses are enveloped by the many benefits of this otherworldly aromatherapeutic experience. It restores a sense of well-being, balances the bond and body, and soothes muscular tension. Purchase Again? At some point because this was such a luxe treat to use! 

Mustela Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath ($6.99- $20.00 for 6.76-25.35 oz. from Target, Amazon, Bed, Bath & Beyond, CVS and Walmart): This bubble bath is super hydrating and it very gentle on even the most sensitive skin. My skin is left clean, soft, smooth and pampered. It has a light and clean aroma that is very pleasant and relaxing, but it is not overwhelming in the least bit. Purchase Again? Definitely!

Olbas Herbal Bath ($9.49 for 4 oz. and $16.99 for 8 oz. from Olbas, and Swanson Health): If you have a cold, then using this in a hot bath will relief a lot of discomfort. It helps open up sinus passages, and gives yo an overall sense of wellbeing. This lovely Herbal Bath has a wonderful foam,  and its invigorating peppermint-eucalyptus aroma awakens the senses and helps to open up sinus passages. Furthermore, it soothes achy muscles and refreshes the senses. You definitely want to make sure to avoid contact with your eyes! Purchase Again? Possibly when I need more bath products.

Phytomer Oligomer Pure Lyophilized Sea Water Bath ($20.58 from Amazon and Phytomer): Phyomer suggests that this soak has "All the benefits of a dip in the ocean in your own home. An ideal opportunity to relax, re-balance and re-energize." I liked how relaxing this was right before bed. Purchase Again? I liked it a lot, but it will be a long time before I consider buying more bath products since I have so many to use up first. 

MaaDisha Neem Enriched Soap5 ($7.00 for oz. from MaaDisha): This is a holistic healing soap that is formulated with Neem and Holy Basil– known for their antibacterial prowess. It is also moisturizing and free of chemicals and artificial fragrances, and can be used on the face and body. I actually used it on my hands, and thoroughly enjoyed using it. Purchase again? I will definitely consider it once I finish up all of the soaps that I have.

Korres Pomegranate Soap: This glycerin-based antiseptic is perfect for people with oily skin, and can be used on the face and body. It never strips the skin, or leaves it taut, but instead leaves it comfortable and thoroughly cleansed. Purchase Again? I would, but I think that it has been discontinued.

Farmhouse Fresh Fluffy Bunny Shea Butter Hand Cream ($15.00 for 2 oz. from Farmhouse Fresh and Amazon): Oh what a lovely hand cream this is! It is rich, ultra-creamy and it effortlessly renders dry hands soft, supple and hydrated. The aroma is a hypnotic blend of mint julep and lavender, and it is utterly scrumptious! Purchase Again? it is at the top of my list after I finish up a few more hand creams.

Diptyque Roses Candle ($36.00-$68.00 for 2.4 oz. and 6.5 oz. from Nordstrom, Diptyque and Space NK): If you love the most refined rose candle imaginable, then you will gleeful the second you smell this gem. Purchase Again? Yes, again and again and again! I love everything about this fragrance and I already have another one that I am just about to light!

Soothe Blackberry Forest Candle ($32.99 from Amazon): Features notes of citrus, blackberry, strawberry, combined with hints of patchouli, amber and sandalwood, and it is an utterly divine soy candle that your mom is sure to treasure. The fruity aroma is tempered by the earthiness of the patchouli, amber and sandalwood, but the freshness and sweetness of the citrus, blackberry, strawberry mitigates the intensity and pungency of the the earthier notes. The end result is the perfect aromatic balance, and the lit its essence fills the air without being imposing or overdone. Purchase Again? Possibly, but I need to burn a few more candles before I can justify buying more.

COCOFLOSS ($9.00 each. Available at Sephora, Credo Beauty and goop): Cocofloss is a very effective dental floss that deeply cleans teeth and is gentle and soothing on the gums. It actually makes flossing something that I look forward to, and it is available in 4 coconut infused flavors: Delicious Mint, Pure Strawberries, Fresh Coconut and Cara Cara Orange. Purchase Again? I just opened another one, and I have an unopened one in reserve. I will definitely purchase more after I finish what I have.

Overall Assessment: I was surprised that I finished up as many bath products as I did, but it was cold and I was taking a lot of baths in February. What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in February? Any great finds or duds to report?

Cold Nights, Broken Heart, Good Soak

Mustela is a wonderful skincare brand for babies and mothers, but you neither have to be a baby, nor the mother of a baby to love their nourishing products. 

Their Multi-Sensory Bubble Bath has been one of my most beloved and most reach-for pampering products during this scary time of social-distancing, and during the recent stay-at-home mandate. It has also given me the comfort that I have sought since Milo's death this week. Sitting in a nice warm bubble bath definitely helps ease tensions, and while it certainly doesn't make everything right with the world, it does help.

This bubble bath is hydrating and it is very gentle on even the most sensitive skin. My skin is left clean, soft, smooth and pampered. It has a light and clean aroma that is very pleasant and relaxing, but it is not overwhelming in the least bit.
