As soon as the weather heats up I love switch fragrances, and I routinely add new fragrant body care products into my daily pampering routine this time of the year. Among my very favorite brands are Molton Brown, Rituals and SENTEURS D'ORIENT, and I therefore decided to select some of my current favorites to share with you. Part of my summertime routine is to reboot my shower by filling it with luxurious scents in which to luxuriate, and therefore I primarily selected an array of cleansers and soaps, but I did include one Eau de Toilette that I have been applying right out of the shower lately.
Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlily Eau de Toilette ($65.00 for oz. from Molton Brown, Saks Fifth Avenue, John Lewis £39.00 and Selfridges): Described as, "Exotic. Alluring. Escapist," this warm and rich spicy floral is an intoxicating scent punctuated by Tuberose, Lily and Jasmine commingled with spicy top notes of Cardamom, Ginger and Clove. It sits close to the skin, and when it dries down it becomes an exotic and light fruity floral. It is a perfect fragrance for the summer, and I find myself reaching for it all of the time.

Rituals The Ritual of Dao Silence 3 in 1 Hand Scrub ($19.00 for 6.7 oz. fromRituals): I am utterly obsessed with this effective cleansing hand scrub– it is gentle enough to use every single day, and yet it has the perfect amount of grit to effectively remove dead skin cells to reveal soft, smooth and supple skin. It has a wonderful White Lotus aroma that is a delight to the senses, but it does not linger very long after rinsing.

I fell in love with this innovative shower gel formula from the very first moment that I used it. You simply apply a small amount of oil to your skin and as soon as it has contact with water it emulsifies and turns from an oil consistency to a thin milky emulsion that effectively cleans the skin, and leaves it delectably soft smooth and moisturized. The beautiful scent of Cherry Blossom is a delight to the senses, and fills the air with its lovely aroma. While the scent is lovely it does not linger since it is, for the most part, washed away. Skin is left clean, soft, smooth and hydrated.

Overall Assessment: These are among my very favorite fragrant body care products for the summer, and these three brands are among my most-coveted all year long. DO you have any body care favorites this time of year?
I have to tell you that I had one very nasty cold this season, and one of the few pleasures that I found at this time was taking hot showers to open up my sinuses and relieve some of the symptoms. I didn't do much to pamper myself in terms of skincare, and didn't wear any makeup– partly because I felt awful– but also because I didn't want to contaminate any of my products. That said, I definitely luxuriated in wonderful products in the shower that made me feel a little better. One of my greatest obsessions during that time was the Sol De Janeiro Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel, and it has remained one of my all-time favorite shower gels since then!
Sol De Janeiro Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel is a rich and creamy lathering shower gel that gently cleans the skin without stripping it, and it smells utterly delicious. The creamy coconut aroma is punctuated by slight notes of jasmine, heliotrope and vanilla, but it is neither overpowering, nor too sweet, but instead warm and rich. The coconut oil leaves skin soft, smooth and hydrated, and it boasts suitable emollience for shaving. In fact, I prefer using this to shaving cream for my legs and under arms.

Despite the face that California is in a catastrophic draught, I love taking a nice hot shower, albeit shorter than I would like. Nothing makes me happier in the shower than to luxuriate in lovely body washes and scrubs, and when it comes to roses nothing captures my heart the way that REN Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash does.
The delicate rose scent is utterly intoxicating, and the lathering gel-like texture cleans thoroughly, and yet never strips the skin. While it contains a wide array of moisturizing oils, it does not leave skin feeling greasy or slick in the least bit. The calming and soothing ingredients also make this wonderful for shaving, and even sensitive armpits can seek refuge in this delightful gentle and moisturizing body wash. If you are not fond of rose scented body products then this isn't for you, but if you are like me and love Rosa Damascena Flower Oil then this one is a real treat to the senses.

I have to confess as a huge fan of Molton Brown that I was deliriously happy when I saw their Limited Edition Vintage 2015 with Elderflower Body Wash. The packaging is absolutely exquisite: the golden cap and label beautifully highlight the stunning glistening golden particles suspended in the shower gel.

Directions: In the shower, massage across damp skin with hands or a sponge, then rinse. In the bath, add to warm running water and enjoy.
Overall Assessment: This is such a delightful body wash that I am planning on ordering a backup bottle before they sell out!
