HH Science Lip Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick is a lightweight and highly pigmented matte liquid lipstick formula that is comfortable to wear, and that I don't find drying on my lips. If you prefer glossy finishes, then this finish isn't for you, but I you love a good matte lipstick, then this is definitely worthy of your consideration. These lipsticks glide across the lips effortlessly, deposit color effortlessly, and they do not bleed or migrate. 

Nude is a warm peachy beige and Pure Pout is a warm peachy coral shade, and they are beautiful alone, or blended together. If you like the longevity of matte lipsticks, but want a bit of shine, then you can treat these as lip stains and top them with your favorite gloss. If you have dry lips, you can prep them with a lip balm and then use the liquid lipstick.

Bodyography Spring Picks for Lips & Eyes | Review and Swatches

Bodyography makes very high quality cruelty-free, gluten-free and vegan makeup, and if you haven't tried any of their products– they deserve pride of place on your try-someday-list. They have some gorgeous lip liners, liquid lipstick and liquid eyeshadows to ring in the upcoming spring season, and I thought that I would share a few of my favorites.

Bodyography Lip Lava Liquid Lipstick in Exposed ($19.00 for 0.08 oz. from Bodyography): Their liquid lipsticks have a soft matte finish, highly saturated pigmentation, and many of them are very bold colors. Exposed, on the other hand, is a matte light coral nude that is quite easy to wear. It features a doe-foot applicator that effectively glides across the lips. It deposits color evenly, it doesn't feather or migrate, and it is very long-wearing. It dries down quickly, and thankfully it didn't dry out my lips. However, if you do have very dry lips, you might want to apply a thin layer of lip balm to prep your lips. This is a very long wearing formula, and when it does begin to fade, that it does so evenly leaving a nice stain behind.

Bodyography Lip Pencils in Barely There and Heatherberry ($14.00 for 0.04 oz. from Bodyography): I love lip liners that are creamy and emollient, that boast exceptional wear-time, and that come in an array of beautiful colors. These lip pencils glide across the lips effortlessly, deposit color evenly and they never dry out my lips. Barely There, which is described as a Beige Nude, is a very easy to wear daily shade that is perfect for many nude lipsticks. Heatherberry, which is described as a Rose/Brown Nude, is a stunning shade that pairs perfectly with a vast array of rosey and brown lipsticks, but it is also stunning on its own topped with a clear lip gloss.

If you love liquid eyeshadows that offer buildable coverage, gorgeous pigmentation, and that feel weightless, then Bodyography Crystal Glide Liquid Eyeshadows ($20.00 each for 0.067 oz. from Bodyography) are worth trying. They are long-lasting, have enough sparkle for daily use, and have absolutely no fallout.

Additionally, they are user-friendly, can be worn individually or together, but if you are like me– then you probably will opt for a light wash of a single color in conjunction with some eyeliner and mascara. The doe-foot applicator is easy to use, and effective, but you can also use a brush or your finger to spread the shadow across the lid– depending upon the effect that you are seeking.

Fans of cream and liquid eyeshadows, like me, will really enjoy their high quality, stunning shades and ease of use. These beauties are infused with the most gorgeous "pure color pigments and crystal chrome pearls" that give the shadows a gorgeous shimmer that is refined and flattering– rather than over-the-top. If you have particularly oily eyelids, then you may want to use a primer, but I have found that I don't need one since the formula is long-wearing, transfer-proof and non-creasing on me.

The Makeup Wars team is currently featuring our favorite fall collections or products, and I am rather surprised by the relative pragmatism of my choice. I had been testing numerous products, but rather organically observed my particular affinity for three of the new for fall bareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer High Shine Liquid Lipstick that I had been testing. Truth be told, it really didn't occur to me that these affordable beauties would sweep me off of my feet, but they did. I started testing them, then soon I was reaching for them all of the time, and then finally two of the shades, Major and Bae, ended up living in my purse. The colors are perfect for fall, they are easy to wear, and they are really gorgeous.

bareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer High Shine Liquid Lipstick is a high gloss liquid lipstick in a gorgeous array of mauves, pinks, peaches and beiges. They offer opaque coverage, a high shine finish, and they feel more like full-coverage lip glosses than traditional lipsticks. They are a bit tacky, less so than MAC Lip Glasses, but not so much so as to be uncomfortable. I should also note that the tackiness only occurs when they are first applied, and after they have been on the lips for a few minutes the tackiness subsides altogether. They are long-wearing, they glide across the lips effortlessly, deposit color evenly and the three colors that I have neither pool, nor settle into lip lines. They have enough cushion for comfortable wear, and they are moisturizing. The doe-foot applicator has a nice user-friendly shape that coats the lips in a single pass. I like the formula and shine a lot, and the colors are really beautiful and perfect for daily wear. They have a warm and creamy vanilla scent, but it does fade soon upon application.

Each of the 6 shades glide across the lips effortlessly, deposit color evenly, and neither migrate, nor settle into lip lines. Once the velvety matte lipsticks dry down, they reveal a decidedly opaque matte finish, and the colors remain true. While I do not find them drying, they are true mattes, and I would suggest prepping your lips and applying a tiny amount of lip balm, if your lips are particularly dry to begin with. Once they set, I get about 7 hours of wear-time per application. There is no detectable flavor, but there is a slight nondescript scent in the tube.

Overall Assessment: If you are looking for liquid matte lipsticks that are gorgeous and affordable, then the NYX Limited Edition Luv Out Loud Liquid Lipsticks are definitely worthy of your consideration.

I do not find their mattes particularly drying like so many mate lipsticks are, but if you have particularly dry lips, I would suggest using a matte lip balm beneath their matte liquid lipsticks.

Sequins is a gorgeous metallic rose gold shade.

Goals is a striking bright matte red shade.

Midnight is a matte taupe gray shade.

Overall Assessment: At $19.99, the January liquid lipstick trio is a great value. If you like to wear bold matte lipsticks, then Goals and Midnight will prove to be a nice addition to your collection, but if you tend to prefer less bold lipsticks, then Sequins may be the only one of the three that you would likely wear with any regularity.

I just recently discovered a fun, and cruelty-free, makeup brand that uses lots of great ingredients– while remaining affordable. The Beauty Crop's makeup is available in a range of beautiful colors, lovely textures and whimsical packaging– and I have a few pieces to share with you.
