The Makeup Wars team is currently featuring our favorite fall collections or products, and I am rather surprised by the relative pragmatism of my choice. I had been testing numerous products, but rather organically observed my particular affinity for three of the new for fall bareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer High Shine Liquid Lipstick that I had been testing. Truth be told, it really didn't occur to me that these affordable beauties would sweep me off of my feet, but they did. I started testing them, then soon I was reaching for them all of the time, and then finally two of the shades, Major and Bae, ended up living in my purse. The colors are perfect for fall, they are easy to wear, and they are really gorgeous.

bareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer High Shine Liquid Lipstick is a high gloss liquid lipstick in a gorgeous array of mauves, pinks, peaches and beiges. They offer opaque coverage, a high shine finish, and they feel more like full-coverage lip glosses than traditional lipsticks. They are a bit tacky, less so than MAC Lip Glasses, but not so much so as to be uncomfortable. I should also note that the tackiness only occurs when they are first applied, and after they have been on the lips for a few minutes the tackiness subsides altogether. They are long-wearing, they glide across the lips effortlessly, deposit color evenly and the three colors that I have neither pool, nor settle into lip lines. They have enough cushion for comfortable wear, and they are moisturizing. The doe-foot applicator has a nice user-friendly shape that coats the lips in a single pass. I like the formula and shine a lot, and the colors are really beautiful and perfect for daily wear. They have a warm and creamy vanilla scent, but it does fade soon upon application.

Overall Assessment: I really like these and am currently reaching for Major and Bae so much that they I may have to buy backups since I am using these on a daily basis. These are definitely worth checking out on your next trip to bareMinerals, Nordstrom, Ulta or Sephora.

In the Fall 2015 Color Collection, Tom Ford invents a modern way to wear monochromatic color by layering one shade of plum, peach, pink or bronze for an elegant and sculpted look. The multipurpose eye and cheek shadow creates dimension and depth on the eyes and sculpts cheeks with radiant, ombré color. 

TOM FORD Eye and Cheek Shadows are ultra-finely milled powders that glide across the skin effortlessly, and deposit color evenly. When used on the eyes, the Ombré effect is easily achieved by selecting the lighter and darker shades to highlight and contour with ease. Use the darker shade in the outer V or in the crease, and the lighter shade as a wash of color on the lid. For more drama, they can be blended for added drama. When used as a blush, simply sweep your brush across the pan allowing it to linger on the lighter or darker shades depending on your desired effect.

Of the four shades, Pink Ombré, Plum Ombré and Peach Ombré boast the best pigmentation. Bronze Ombré, while gorgeous, is quite sheer.

Tom Ford Beauty Fall Look 2015 A Few Must-Haves & Moodlight Availability

Tom Ford Beauty has launched so many amazing products for the Fall 2015 season, and I picked up three pieces (so far) that I wanted to share. I will swatch everything later, but wanted to rush to publish this while I am working on my upcoming mega swatch post. While the new Tom Ford Lip Color shades are part of the permanent line, the Tom Ford Eye and Cheek Shadows and the Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo in Moonlight are limited edition. There appear to be plenty of the Tom Ford Eye and Cheek Shadows available, but the Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo in Moodlight is nearly impossible to track down. It is currently available at Saks Fifth Avenue, back-ordered at Bergdorf Goodman, may or may not be restocked at Nordstrom, and is sold out at Neiman Marcus. This is the one thing I would suggest rushing to buy before it is gone because it really truly is extraordinary.

TOM FORD Eye and Cheek Shadow in Pink Ombré ($65.00 for .15 oz. from Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's): This is a stunning, finely milled powder that was conceived to be used on the eyes and cheeks. I have worn Pink Ombré on my cheeks because it is the perfect blush-based pink blush.

TOM FORD Skin Illuminating Powder Duo in Moodlight ($80.00 for 0.42 oz. from Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom): This is definitely worth getting while you can, and it is quickly disappearing. It is an ultra finely milled luminizer that neither settles into fine lines, nor does it emphasize pores. Both the stunning rose gold shade and the diffused and softened ivory/white glide across the skin effortlessly and deposit color evenly, and they leave behind a covet-worthy ethereal glow. I managed to get my hands on the last one at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills, and know that you can currently order online from Saks Fifth Avenue.

It boasts all of the quality expected from a Tom Ford Lip Color, and is an infinitely wearable ultra-gorgeous shade!
