That I have a preference for lip glosses and lip oils has been well-documented throughout these virtual pages, and the extent to which I love these tinted variants cannot be sufficiently underscored. Tinted Lip Oils offer the perfect wash of color without sacrifice any of the conditioning benefits of a lip oil or lip balm, and they are a perfect way for people with dry lips, or winter induced dry lips, to adorn their lips with a gorgeous wash of color.
Kosas Wet Lip Oil Gloss in Malibu, ($27.00 for .15 oz. from Kosas, Sephora, Nordstrom, Shen Beauty, Neiman Marcus, Credo Beauty and Verishop): This gorgeous lip oil, which is described as a Surfy Pink, is a wonderful hybrid lip oil and gloss that is utterly covet-worthy for people who love nourishing lip oils and glosses. This plumping and moisturizing lip oil hybrid is filled with ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, Evening Primrose Oil, Avocado Oil and Shea Butter that nourish and condition even severely chapped lips.
The texture is lightweight, and emollient, with a slightly oily texture, but it is not so oily that it slides right off of the lips or sinks into them and disappears. It is very smooth and silky without the least bit of gritty texture. Instead, it moisturizes, but it also wears like a hybrid lip oil gloss, and I find that it lasts on me for a couple of hours. It is very comfortable on the lips, with the perfect amount of cushion, and has quickly become one of my favorite things to wear. The "Surfy Pink" is a mid-tone rosy pink that is punctuated by tiny multi-colored shimmer, and while the color can be built up or sheered out, the lips always show through. Therefore, this is neither a clear gloss, nor is it opaque– instead it offers a nice middle ground with some lovely pigmentation that allows the lips to show though. It has a light fruity aroma, but that fades nearly immediately, and therefore it should pose no problem for people sensitive to scented lip products.

This mid-tone ultra-pigmented rosy-pink blush, punctuated by a shell pink highlighter, boasts an extraordinarily-finely milled consistency that is creamy and silky to the touch. It glides across the skin effortlessly, deposits color evenly, and never emphasizes fine lines, and it doesn't settle into pores. The highlighting powder, which can be used alone or mixed with the blush, is a glowing cool-leaning shell pink with a gorgeous luminous finish. Longitude Zero High Intensity is definitely in the same color family as the earlier Longitude Zero (shown and swatched below), but the latter is far more demure and understated than the more assertive High Intensity version. Therefore, if you love both, as do I, there is a justification for owning both. However, if you are seeking just one– let the swatches below help you decide which variant best suits you.

Overall Assessment: Initially I wasn't going to purchase Longitude Zero High Intensity since I have Longitude Zero, but they are different enough that I am truly enjoying both of them.
I have been in love with Kosås since I first began using their products a few years ago. Their skin-loving eco-friendly ingredients make using their products a joy, and there is never a sense that you are sacrificing anything other than unhealthy ingredients.
When they recently launched the Kosås Tinted Face Oil, I was more thrilled than you can imagine. I prefer light-coverage foundations and tinted moisturizers that allow the skin to breathe and to show through. That their variant is a tinted face oil, is undoubtedly a cause for celebration for me since it combines two of my favorite things: face oils and lightweight light coverage foundations.
In fact, Kosås Tinted Face Oil is truly a featherweight tinted oil that is nourishing and hydrating, and it adds a lighter veil of coverage that perfects the complexion. The texture is light and slightly oily, but like a dry oil, it melts into the skin and leaves behind no residue.
Simply shake the bottle, in order to emulsify the tinted oil, and then massage 2-4 drops into the skin for lighter coverage, and 4-6 drops into the for more full coverage. It is formulated to be applied, with your fingers, as you would a serum or a moisturizer, and therefore no brushes or sponges are necessary for proper application, and for the desired results. Skin is left luminous and even in tone– with blurred pores and imperfections. This is a dream-come-true for me, but if you only wear very full-coverage foundations this might not provide you with the level of opacity that you seek. That said, this formula is so exquisite that I highly recommend trying it!
Kosås Tinted Face Oil is available in 10 shades, of which I have swatched four below. I wear shade 01 because it has pink undertones that work well with my cool-toned complexion. That said, the 10 shades were created to be worn for up to 30 complexions because of the way in which the shades have been "optically blended" and because they magically adjust to the tone of each complexion. Therefore, there are a variety of shades that will likely work for each individual, as well.

AXIOLOGY Natural Lip Crayon in Enchant ($26.00 for 0.12 oz. from Sephora, Revolve and Credo Beauty): is a stunning matte boysenberry that can be used as a lipstick or a lip liner, and it boasts a delectable buttery texture. It is not a dry matte, but instead it is moisturizing and very comfortable on the lips. This wonderful twist-up chubby lip crayon glides across the lips effortlessly, deposits color evenly and is ultra-pigmented with richly saturated, long-lasting color. I get about 7 hours of wear-time from a single application, and when it does begin to fade, it does so evenly leaving behind a gorgeous stain. Furthermore, there is no detectable scent or flavor to this lip crayon.

Finding the perfect nude pink lipstick is, without question, a considerable feat. Many nudes have a tendency to make the wearer look more like the queen of the zombie apocalypse, rather than chic and retro. As luck would have it, nude pinks are my Achilles heel, and as such I have tested and swatched many before finding a few against which all others are compared. My latest favorite covet-worthy nude pink is KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor, and not only is it a stunning ultra-luxe lipstick, but it is also a green beauty brand that uses high quality natural ingredients, and doesn't use petroleum, parabens, artificial fragrance or petrochemical emulsifiers.
While I seldom spend much time dwelling on product packaging, because I am generally more concerned about what's inside, I have to say that this impressive sculptural lipstick tube is a weighty metal masterpiece. In fact, the only lipstick tube that is in its category, of chic minimalist design, is the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick tubes.

KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor is described by Kirsten Kjaer Weis as a, "well-balanced nude with pink undertones"– which is an apt assessment. It is, in my opinion, unmitigated nude pink perfection.
KJAER WEIS Lipstick in Honor is an ultra-pigmented lipstick with "a rich, semi-matte, velvet finish" that lends itself to full opaque coverage. The initial texture in the tube is a little drier than some lipsticks, but akin to certain matte formulas. However, this ingenious formula is activated by the warmth of the skin, and it melts into the lips beautifully. Honor glides across the lips without incident, deposits color evenly, and it neither settles into lip lines, nor does it migrate. It is very hydrating thanks to ingredients such as shea butter and jojoba oil, and the waxes, such as beeswax, account for its long wear-time. This lipstick formula has the right amount of cushion for comfortable wear, and while it has a light aroma in the tube there is no detectable taste.

*Jane Iredale PureMoist Lipstick in Susan, Lisa and Karen ($25.00 for .1 oz. from Jane Iredale, Neiman Marcus, Citrine Natural Beauty Bar, Soft Surroundings, Beauty Expert and StrawberryNet): The formula is smooth, creamy and it glides across the lips effortlessly while depositing color evenly. I have two colors, Abigail and Cindy, and both have the perfect amount of cushion for comfortable wear. I get about 3-4 hours of wear before needing to apply, and while there is some transfer to the glass or mug when I drink, it is minimal. They have the emollience of a tinted lip balm, but the staying power of a lipstick. Furthermore, neither shade migrates, nor do they settle into lip lines. They have a wonderful fruity smell and light taste, but I find that it very quickly.

This lovely lipstick has a light fruity flavor and aroma, but it does fade quickly.
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Cava, described as a lilac beige, is a beautiful nude grey lilac that is surprisingly flattering. It glides across the lips effortlessly, deposits color evenly and it doesn't settle into lip lines. It is weightless, comfortable on the lips and long-wearing. Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon ($24.00 for 0.05 oz. from Sephora): is a wonderful multitasking crayon that can be used as a lip liner or as a lipstick. It can be worn alone or under your favorite lipsticks and lip glosses. While the formula is described as matte, it is neither flat nor drying. Instead the formula is lightly moisturizing, and has a light sheen. Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayons glide across the lips effortlessly, deposit color evenly, and they neither feather, nor bleed. They are long-wearing, very comfortable on the lips, and they are ultra-pigmented.
The two shades that I am featuring here are Cava and Pastille. The former is a stunning lilac beige that is a wonderful cool-leaning nude. The latter is a dusty mauve rose. These lovely lip crayons have a light fruity flavor and aroma, but the scent is not long lasting.

As previously noted, when the limited edition Bite Beauty French Press Lip Glosses ($22.00 for .15 oz. from Sephora): launched I almost bought a few sight-unseen, but instead waited to see them in person at Sephora. There were a couple of shades that appealed to me, but I wanted to try the formula first, and I chose the one color to which I had a very strong visceral reaction– which was Flat White.
Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss in Flat White, which is described as a creamy pale pink, is a milky pale nude peachy pink with a shiny cream finish. It is not fully opaque, but more of a semi-opaque shade. It glides across the lips effortlessly, deposits color evenly and without streaks, and it is somewhat buildable. It can be sheered out, and while it applies evenly, I do find that it has a tendency to slightly settle into lip lines as do many colors in this family. I often apply this over a lip liner or lipstick, and there is never any settling in lip lines when worn this way. That said, I often wear it alone, and I do not find it prohibitively streaky– plus this is my most-worn color family, and therefore I reach for this gloss often.
The texture is lightweight, smooth and just the slightest bit tacky without being unpleasant, and it clings to the lips with tenacity and is longer wearing than many lip glosses. I tend to get between 3-4 hours of wear from each application, and I find the formula lightly hydrating and comfortable on this lips. The French Press Lip Glosses each have a distinct coffee scent that may bother people who do not care for scented lip products, but the scent fades soon upon application.
Given my penchant for nude pinks and lip glosses, this is a great fit for me. Furthermore, Bite Beauty lip products are cruelty-free and filled with healthy ingredients, therefore this was a sensible purchase for me.

I purchased RMS Lip Shine in Sublime and RMS Lip2Cheek in Demure because they were so beautiful that I simply could not resist them, and If you have yet to indulge in RMS Beauty, then these are definitely worthy contenders for your consideration. They are both housed in sturdy little glass pots with chic metal lids that fit snugly. The aesthetic of the packaging is an exercise in elegant minimalism, and these little pots are small enough to carry in your pocket or handbag.
Their healthy makeup lacks harsh chemical ingredients, and they actually nourish the skin. You can wear all of their products with confidence, and you don't have to be concerned about ingesting multi-syllabic chemicals when wearing any of their lip products.

The pigmentation is quite concentrated with this formula, and a little goes a long way, therefore I would recommend starting with a small amount and building up if more opacity is desired. It is non-sticky, offers a lovely sheen and it neither feathers nor bleeds on the lips, and it doesn't settle into fine line or pores on the cheeks. There is no discernible fragrance, but like the RMS Lip Shine one can detect the faintest aroma from the natural ingredients.

Directions: Apply sparingly with fingers or brush. Repeat application for a more intense color on lips or cheeks. For more shimmer or a slightly softer color, apply the living luminizer over any lip2cheek color. For best results on particularly dry lips, apply a light layer of the lip & skin balm before the lip2cheek. This product can also be used as an eye shadow but may not be suitable for all skin types as they will cause creasing in most cases due to the moisturizing oils.

*H is for Love Lip Glacé in Root & Berry ($24.00 for .17 oz from H is for Love,): This glossy balm, which is nourishing and ultra-moisturizing, leaves lips soft, silky smooth and supple. It is very emollient, but it clings to the lips without even the slightest hint of stickiness. It has the perfect amount of cushion for comfortable wear, and a single application lasts for several hours. The natural pigments, while intense in the pot and in my swatch, offer a juicy, light wash of red on the lips. There is a very light aroma that is primarily punctuated by the peppermint and vanilla oils, but it fades almost immediately. It is important to note that it is neither in the least bit overpowering, nor is it irritating to the lips– instead it is refreshing and comforting.

Lip Glacé is a universally flattering rose-colored gloss. Its tint is derived from berries, roots and flowers and completely void of mica, iron oxides or mineral pigments. Highly regenerative sea buckthorn CO2 lends a touch of red clay color to the mix. Virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil creates a matte look in the pot, but once warmed by your lips it becomes glossy (glacé!)

Overall Assessment: I absolutely love all of these wonderful lip products, and feel good about wearing them. This is proof positive that you can find gorgeous and healthy alternatives to the chemical-laden luxury brands on the market. If you haven't tried any of these brands, I highly recommend them.
