December 2023 Empties Galore for the Face, Body, Hair and Home

Purchased & Press Samples (Affiliate Links)

It is hard to believe that it is already the end of December, and that the new year is upon us. Here is my last empties post for 2023, and I managed to toss all of the empty containers into my recycle bin before 2024. I finished up 10 full size products, one deluxe sample and one full size candle– not a bad way to close out the year.

René Furterer Triphasic Shampoo ($15.00-$76.00 for 1.6 oz to 20.2 oz. from René FurtererDermstoreLovelySkin and SkinStore): This non-stripping shampoo gently cleans the hair and scalp, and it is formulated to treat the hair follicles to encourage hair growth. Hair is left manageable and looks more full and healthy. I purchased this during the pandemic because I noticed that the stress of living in lockdown was causing me to shed more hair than usual. Once the pandemic became less of an existential threat, I no longer really needed this shampoo. Purchase Again?  If ever I need it again, I will most certainly buy another bottle!

René Furterer KARITÉ HYDRA Hydrating Shine Mask ($15.00-$54.00 for 1 oz.- 6.9 oz. from René FurtererLovelySkinDermstore and Amazon): If ever there was a hair mask that nourished, moisturized and left hair soft, manageable, shiny and frizz-free, it is this one. It offers dry hair much-needed moisture without ever weighing it down, and it rinses clean. Formulated for dry, dehydrated hair, the Shea oil replenishes moisture, helps restore the protective barrier and supplies the hair with essential fatty acids and vitamins. It has the most delectable light, nutty aroma that is an absolute pleasure to the senses. Purchase Again? I already opened a big jar!

Davines OI All in One Milk ($40.00 for 135 ml / 4.56 fl.oz. from DavinesNordstromAmazon and Cult Beauty): is a wonderful multipurpose leave-in treatment that tames frizz and flyaways, and it softens, detangles, hydrates, and protects hair from the heat. Additionally, it gives hair a gorgeous shine. It includes Roucou Oil, which is rich in Beta-Carotene and antioxidants, that protects and strengthens hair against environmental damage. This luxurious treatment has a lovely warm and creamy aroma that lingers in the hair, but it isn't in the least bit distracting or overpowering. Purchase Again? Without question, this stuff is magical!

Spongellé Tunisian Moon Body Wash Infused Buffer ($18.00 each from Spongellé): Spongellé Riviera Collection Body Buffers are brilliant body wash-infused sponges effectively and gently clean and exfoliate the skin, and they also leave the it deliciously baby soft, smooth, supple and moisturized. They really excel in their ability to clean and exfoliate the skin while delighting the senses with their delightful aromas. Fragrance NotesTop: Italian Mandarin, Crisp Green Apple, Golden Neroli. Middle: Creamy Coconut, Orange Blossom, Jasmine. Base: Dark Vanilla, Cedar, Cashmere Woods. Purchase Again? This scent was limited edition, and is now gone, but there are so many from which to choose, and they are all quite fantastic! I have several of their body buffers, and can't imagine not using them on a daily basis!

Trader Joe's Red Currant Foaming Hand Soap ($2.99 from Trader Joe's): If you shop at Trader Joe's, then I urge you to buy a bottle or two of the new seasonal foaming hand soap. I bought a bottle when I was grocery shopping, and it is the perfect embodiment of the holiday season. It has a wonderful red currant aroma, but it is not overpowering, and it boasts a luxurious creamy foaming lather that moisturizes the skin. Furthermore, it is cruelty-free and very affordable at $2.99 for an 8oz. bottle. Purchase Again? YES! It is on my grocery list, and I just hope that they haven't sold out by the time I get there!

African Botanics Buchu Botanical Enzyme Polish ($85.00 for 3.4 oz. from Boxwalla,  African BotanicsCredo Beauty and Cult Beauty): Buchu Botanical Enzyme Polish is a very deep-cleansing facial exfoliator that effectively and efficiently sweeps away impurities and cleans out clogged pores. It is formulated with a combination of Marula Oil, Baobab Oils and Buchu Plant extracts that are punctuated by Micro-Algae and ultra-fine granules of ancient volcanic minerals. The fine granules, which densely populate this exfoliator, efficiently and effectively unclog pores, and remove dead skin cells, excess oils and impurities. Papaya and Pineapple enzymes help to dissolve dead skin cells, aid in cleaning out the pores, and make them appear reduced in size. Skin is left brightened, deeply cleansed and utterly glowing. In fact, the first time that I used it I noticed that it left my skin feeling as soft and silky smooth as ultra-fine velvet. Only the smallest amount is needed to achieve the desired results for the face, neck and décolleté, and the exfoliating particles are so efficient that you do not need to apply any pressure as you massage it into the skin. Buchu Botanical Enzyme Polish Skin neither strips the skin, nor does it deplete vital moisture or hydration. Dull, congested skin gives way to youthful, radiant skin that feels amazing to the touch. Purchase Again? I think that I might have another tube hiding somewhere!

Neutrogena Reusable Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser Starter Kit ($14.99 for 7.5 fl oz. from NeutrogenaAmazonTarget and Walmart): is a brilliant addition to their skincare collection, and a wonderful eco-friendly cleanser. The kit includes a reusable metal bottle and a concentrated powder cleanser refill. You simply fill up the bottle with drinking quality water and then add the powder packet and give it a good shake. The end result is a fragrance-free, 7 ingredient foaming cleanser that is gentle and creamy to the touch. It thoroughly cleans the skin without ever stripping it, and leaves it silky smooth. This is a wonderful cleanser that is an excellent choice for even the most sensitive skin types. Purchase Again? I have far too many cleansers to use before I buy another one, but I will likely pick up one of the refill packets at some point because I really like this cleanser.
Ao Skincare Reverse Longitude PM Serum-Shot ($95.00 for 1 oz. from Ao Skincare): is an antioxidant-rich nighttime serum that reduces the appearance of fine lines, helps to fade hyperpigmentation, it does an excellent job exfoliating dead skin cells, and it stimulates collagen production. Unlike retinol, which can be a more harsh form of Vitamin A, that many people can't tolerate, Retinal is a more gentle version of Vitamin A, and therefore it can be more easily tolerated by people with sensitive skin. This serum is lightweight, fast-absorbing and fragrance-free. My skin can be a bit sensitive, and I often experience dry and peeling skin after using retinol-based products, but this serum neither leaves my skin dry, nor peeling and irritated. It is very effective, gentle and a perfect pick for my skin. My skin is left soft and smooth, and my fine lines are softened. Furthermore, my skin has a pronounced clarity and my small area of hyperpigmentation (sun damage) is starting to lighten. Purchase Again? While I really loved using this a lot, and would definitely use it again, I have numerous retinol and retinal based products to use before I buy another one. This one is definitely first rate!

The A Method C Glow Moisturizer ($75.00 for 1 oz. from The A Method): is a gorgeous lightweight and fast absorbing Vitamin C-based moisturizer that is antioxidant-rich and very nourishing. It offers skin effective and sustainable hydration while fighting free-radical damage. Skin is left decidedly soft, smooth and luminous. It does not contain a sunscreen, and therefore you will need to apply your sunscreen after you have let this lovely moisturizer sink into your skin. This moisturizer has the most heavenly citrus aroma, but it is neither too assertive, nor is it long-lasting. Purchase Again? I just opened a new bottle.

Fleur & Bee H2 Oh Yeah Hydrating Moisturizer ($65.00 for 1.5 oz. from Fleur & Bee and Amazon): is an ultra-emollient moisturizer that acts as a very effective humectant. It is perfect for dry and dehydrated skin, and it offers serious hydration that lasts all day. The Hyaluronic Acid, which is a humectant, not only attracts and retains hydration, but it also plumps fine lines. This soothing cream is rich, emollient and it leaves skin unbelievably soft, smooth, hydrated and nourished. The consistency is buttery to the touch, and it melts into the skin in the most scrumptious way. Furthermore, it has a barely-there aroma, and it is vegan and cruelty-free. Fleur & Bee is not only a wonderful company that practices sustainability, by the use of recycled materials for its packaging and the use of wind-energy to make its skincare products, but they do all of this and keep their prices affordable! Purchase Again? I am currently swimming in open jars of moisturizers, but I would definitely use this again when I need another cream.

GOOD FAITH Smoothing Eye Cream + Caffeine ($26.00 for 0.50 oz from GOOD FAITH and Amazon): is a wonderful discovery that I made recently, and I couldn't wait to share it with you! This cruelty-free, and antioxidant-rich, eye cream is lightweight, fast absorbing and it offers the delicate eye area serious moisture without being greasy. The caffeine de-puffs the under eye area, and this formula noticeably brightens and softens the skin. Furthermore, the Hyaluronic Acid plumps fine lines and retains serious hydration. This formula is fragrance-free and doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes in the least bit. This is a really nice, and affordable, eye cream that is definitely worthy of your consideration. Purchase Again? Definitely!
Spongellé Botanica Candle in Petitgrain ($25.00 for 8 oz. from Spongellé): This is an incredible citrus delight to behold. The bottom notes, consisting of musk and sea salt, temper some of the crisp edges associated with citrus-based scents, and the end result is among the most alluring citrus fragrance profiles. Fragrance Notes: Top: Lemon, Sparkling Water, Grapefruit. Middle: Mandarin, Navel Orange, Cassis Bottom: Musk, Sea Salt. Purchase Again? This candle is no longer available, but they have many other enchanting scents. I currently have several of their candles, and I really love them all!

Overall Assessment: I am thrilled that I was able to finish up all of these products before 2024, and hope that I can do as well next month. What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in December? Any amazing finds or terrible duds to report?

November 2023 Empties Galore for the Face & Body

Purchased & Press Samples (Affiliate Links)

This month I managed to finish 12 products, and two of them were sample sizes. I liked everything that I used up, and thoroughly enjoyed them. I should note that while this pile of empties seems like a lot, in the spirit of transparency they were all quite used up, and I simply focused on finishing them before they spoiled. Here is what I finished up in the month of November:

Erno Laszlo Phelityl Night Cream ($146.00 for 1.7 oz. from Erno LaszloNordstrom and Amazon): is pH-balancing and formulated to repair, strengthen and hydrate your skin while you sleep. It is very thick, but miraculously lightweight, fast-absorbing and non-greasy. It quickly melts into the skin, leaves behind no residue whatsoever, and deeply moisturizes. When I wake up my skin is so soft, supple, moisturized and luminous. Additionally, it softens the appearance of fine lines and makes my skin look incredible. It can also be used during the day, but it contains no sunscreen, and therefore you need to use a separate sunscreen if you use this during the day. It has a very light and pleasant aroma that quickly dissipates, and it can be used for all types of skin. It is perfect for my normal/combination skin, but I think that people with dry skin might prefer a richer cream at night. Purchase Again? I will definitely purchase more at some point in the future, but for now I have far too many open jars of cream to use first.

Fleur & Bee Youth Fairy Retinol Moisturizer ($40.00 for 1.5 oz. from Fleur & Bee and Amazon): is a wonderfully effective and affordable cruelty-free brand. This rich and nourishing antioxidant cream, which is formulated for all types of skin, features 0.03% retinol to increase skin cell turnover and lighten hyperpigmentation, and plant stem cells to protect and rejuvenate the skin. To offset any of the drying and peeling effects, often associated with retinol-based skincare products, Evening Primrose was selected to moisturize and smooth the skin. Unlike many retinol-based skincare products, Youth Fairy is quite gentle, and I experienced no redness, irritation, itching or peeling. The thick and emollient cream melts into the skin immediately leaving it nourished and luminous. It does take up to 12 weeks to see the full effects of the retinol, but I noticed that my skin was brighter after just a couple of weeks. This cream is also gluten-free and it has no detectable aroma. If you are seeking a gentle retinol, then this is a really nice one to consider.

It should be noted that it is very important to use a high SPF sunscreen, and reapplying it frequently, when using retinol-based products since they remove dead skin cells and leave the skin more vulnerable to the elements. It is also very wise to have your doctor check your moles and any skin irregularities– including, but limited to hyperpigmentation– to make sure that you do not have pre-cancerous lesions or spots, or skin cancer. Since I am not a medical doctor, I would urge you to see your physician to discuss the safety of adding retinol to your routine, and to make sure that none of your skin irregularities need medical attention instead of a skincare product. My doctor is very accustomed to looking over the ingredients in products that I seek to use, and she always carefully checks my skin for anything that might be, or could become, problematic. Purchase Again? I have several open jars and tubes of retinol-based products to use first, but I would definitely use this again!

Vitabrid C¹² Wrinkle Cream is ($70.00 for 1.69 oz. from Vitabrid C¹²Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom) is a mid-weight rich cream that melts into the skin, and the Shea Butter delivers serious moisture. Stabilized Vitamin C helps to even skin tone and lighten hyperpigmentation, and the novel peptides help plump fine lines leaving the skin smoother looking in appearance. This ultra-luxe, and velvety-textured, cream is such a pleasure to use and it makes skin look and feel exquisite. While I do not have wrinkles, I do have some fine expression lines, and this cream has definitely softened their appearance. There is no fragrance, and therefore people who are sensitive to fragrant skincare products will not have any problems with this cream in that regard. Purchase Again? I think that I might have another jar stashed somewhere, and will definitely use it!

Annmarie Skin Care Anti-Aging Facial Oil ($118.00 for 30ml. from Annmarie Skin Care and their Official Amazing Store): is a seriously gorgeous luxury face oil. While this glorious face oil is formulated for dry and mature skin, it is one of the finest and most effective oils to have graced my normal to combination skin. This ultra-luxe antioxidant-rich facial oil, which is velvety-to-the-touch, is infused with herbs and a symphony of more than 13 nourishing oils. Ingredients such as chia, goji berry, and broccoli firm and tighten the skin, and therefore soften the appearance of fine lines. Deeply moisturizing, this beautiful oil is lightweight and it effortlessly melts into the skin. It is neither greasy, nor does it leave behind any residue. I prefer to apply it to moist and warm freshly washed skin, and it immediately leaves my skin soft, smooth, supple and luminous. It is quite concentrated, and therefore I find the a single pump offers plenty of oil to cover my face, neck and décolleté, but your use may vary. It has the most hypnotic herbal aroma, but is not long-lasting or overpowering. Purchase Again? I am using a full size bottle as we speak, and I love it!

Aesop Damascan Rose Facial Treatment ($85.00 for 0.8 oz. from Aesop, Nordstrom, Space NK, Bluemercury, Revolve and Saks Fifth Avenue): is undoubtedly a very deeply nourishing and moisturizing face oil that will do wonders for dry and/or distressed skin, but it has also done incredible things for my normal/combination skin as well. It is a very concentrated, vitamin infused treatment oil that serves as a potent remedy for skin that needs intense hydration, but is so gentle and nourishing that my skin happily drinks it up and is left soft, supple, glowing, balanced, and very moisturized. I only need a couple of drops that I warm between my hands before massaging it into my slightly damp and warm face, neck and décolleté. It sinks in immediately and effortlessly, and it has an intoxicatingly hypnotic warm earthy rose scent that simply delights the senses. It is neither too rich for my skin, nor has it caused me to break out in the least. It just makes my skin look and feel amazing. Purchase Again? I will definitely consider it once I have finished some of my many open face oils.

Goldfaden MD Fleuressence Native Botanical Cell Oil ($129.00 for 1 oz. from Goldfaden MDCredo BeautyBloomingdale's and Amazon): If you are looking to try a new-to-you luxury face oil that is lightweight, fast-absorbing and incredibly nourishing and hydrating, then Goldfaden MD Fleuressence Native Botanical Cell Oil is worthy of your consideration. This delicate and delectable golden elixir boasts a light floral aroma that is an utter delight to the senses. This silky smooth ultra-luxe oil melts into the skin immediately moisturizing the skin and leaving it soft, smooth, supple and luminous. It boasts a thoroughly non-greasy texture that makes it the perfect candidate to be added to your daily moisturizer for added hydration, and it can be added to your favorite foundation for added luminosity. Furthermore, the antioxidant-rich formula, which is rich in Omega fatty acids, helps protect the skin against free-radical damage. After repeated use for about 5 weeks, I noted that the appearance of my fine lines were softened and my overall skin tone appeared more even and brightened. Purchase Again? DEFINITELY!

Fleur & Bee Just Dew It Hydrating Serum ($34.00 for 1 oz. from Fleur & Bee and the Fleur & Bee Amazon Store): This Hyaluronic Acid serum includes 14 nourishing actives that pamper and hydrate the skin with extraordinary efficacy. It is a lightweight and yet rich gel that leaves skin soft, smooth, hydrated and with a dewy glow. It is fast absorbing, it has a wonderful slightly floral aroma, and it softens the appearance of fine lines. This cruelty-free and vegan serum is as much a treat to the senses as it is to the skin, and it is remarkably affordable for such a luxurious serum. It is formulated for all skin types, and it is perfect all year long. Purchase Again? Definitely!

Elina Organics Vitamin C Elixir ($63.00 for 2 oz. from Elina Organics and their official Amazon Store): is a nourishing serum that contains Vitamin C, Rose Hips, Almond Oil, Green Tea and Sea Buckthorn to nourish and even skin complexions. This serum, which has the consistency and appearance of a lightweight moisturizer, melts into the skin and offers it immediate nourishment and hydration. If you have normal to combination skin, like me, then you can actually use this gem as your daily moisturizer, and if you have dry skin, then you will want to use it as a serum underneath your moisturizer. It also brightens the complexion, it fades hyperpigmentation and scars over time, and it soothes irritated skin. My skin is left soft, smooth, supple, brightened and with a pronounced clarity. It has a light herbal aroma, informed by its ingredients, not added fragrance, but it dissipates altogether once it is absorbed by the skin. Purchase Again? I just opened up a different Vitamin C serum, but I would love to get this one again in the future.

Erno Laszlo Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar ($44.00 for 3.4 oz. from Erno LaszloNordstrom and Look Fantastic): Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar does an exceptional job cleaning and exfoliating my skin, and it does so without drying, stripping or irritating. Skin is left soft, clear and luminous, and while it is now said to be formulated for all skin types, it used to be for normal, combination and oily skin types. I would say that dryer skin types would only use it periodically for its deep cleaning and exfoliating abilities, but not as a daily soap. I do like to use it with a cleansing oil, but sometimes I use it alone. My one grievance is that the bar used to be a hefty 6 oz., which was far more satisfying to use, and now it is nearly half the size. Purchase Again? Absolutely!
Spongellé Body Wash Infused Buffers ($12.00-$20.00 each from Spongellé): This particular buffer was limited edition from a while ago, but you really can't go wrong with any of their buffers. These sponges not only effectively remove dead skin cells, but they also leave the skin deliciously baby soft, smooth, supple and moisturized. Body wash infused body buffers are such a treat to use, and they really excel in their ability to clean and exfoliate the skin while delighting the senses with their delightful aromas. You simply dampen the body buffer with water to activate the lather to effortlessly clean and exfoliate the skin. Each sponge is filled with enough body wash for a minimum of 14 washes, and once you have used up all of the body wash, the sponge itself is still quite intact, and therefore all you need to do is use it in conjunction with your favorite liquid or bar soaps. The hanging ribbon allows the buffer to dry out easily, but I recommend hanging it outside of the moist environment of the shower to avoid bacterial growth. Purchase Again? I just opened up a new one!
Spongellé Botanica Candle in Tobacco Flower ($35.00 for 8 oz. from Spongellé): This is amazing candle has a rather hard to describe scent profile. The bottom notes, cedarwood and sandalwood, account for the tobacco flower sensibility, but it is mellowed by the top and middle notes to create a brilliantly conceived amalgam of these carefully selected aromas. If this were a perfume, it would be described as decidedly unisex in its composition and conception. Fragrance NotesTop: Bergamot, Green Fig. Middle: Rosemary, Juniper, Sheer Lavender. Bottom: Cedarwood, Sandalwood. Purchase Again? I just start burning another one of their delectable candles!

Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'n' Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Velvet Violet ($29.00 for 10g. from Charlotte TilburySephoraNordstromBloomingdale'sBeautylishSelfridgesCult Beauty and John Lewis): This wonderful formula is so creamy to the touch and easy to blend, and it glides across the skin without any tugging or pulling, and it deposits color evenly and effortlessly. It allows you to create a very clean crisp line, but gives you enough time before setting to make a smoky smudged line as well. Once it does set, it is completely budge-proof, and lasts on me all day long, and without a primer. I do not experience any transfer, smudging or fading, but I do not have very oily eyelids, and your wear-time may vary if you do. Purchase Again? I just opened another one!

Overall Assessment: I hope that I can do this well in December! What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in November? Any excellent or mediocre products to report?

Fleur & Bee A Game Retinol Serum Review

Press Sample (Affiliated Links)

If you want to start using retinol in your skincare routine, but want one that is gentle, rather than aggressive, then Fleur & Bee has created Fleur & Bee A Game Retinol Serum, and it is a perfect for people new to retinol. This retinol-based serum, which pairs 0.1% retinol with a number of vegan superfoods, such as green tea, jojoba oil and dandelion, soothes and protects the skin while retaining the skin-turnover and anti-aging benefits associated with retinol.

This serum is lightweight, fast absorbing and contains no fragrance. It gently encourages skin cell turnover, it softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and fades hyperpigmentation. Furthermore, unlike most retinol-based skincare products, which often dry out the skin, this gem offers the skin vital hydration– which mitigates the typical irritation and drying associated with retinol.

Disclaimer: Before using a retinol-based product, I highly recommend consulting with your doctor, and having a thorough skin exam. Oftentimes people seek retinol-based products to treat sun damage, such as hyperpigmentation, but sometimes those seemingly benign (and here I use this word literally) sunspots or skin irregularities are actually precancerous or cancerous lesions, and therefore you should see a dermatologist before using retinol-based products. I am not a medical doctor, and am not giving any medical advice, and this is why I always have my doctor look over my skin very carefully, and evaluate the products that I am considering for my skin.

Fleur & Bee Youth Fairy Retinol Moisturizer Review

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

Fleur & Bee Youth Fairy Retinol Moisturizer is a brand new launch from this wonderfully effective and affordable cruelty-free brand.

My doctor is very accustomed to looking over the ingredients in products that I seek to use, and she always carefully checks my skin for anything that might be, or could become, problematic.

According to Fleur & Bee,

The perfect gateway retinol moisturizer, this anti-aging face cream deeply moisturizes while helping you to achieve smoother, younger-looking skin. It works to help firm the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, and uneven texture. Packed With: 18 nourishing actives, including 0.03% retinol.

We’ve combined skincare’s most studied and effective ingredient with a host of soothing botanicals to revitalize the skin and reduce the risk of irritation that is common with retinol use. Great results start with great ingredients. We pack this moisturizer with the best that nature and science have to offer. Each powerful  ingredient plays its part in revitalizing your skin so you can look your most youthful.

Retinol is one of the best-researched skincare ingredients and highly effective at increasing cell turnover, targeting signs of aging, and reducing acne, says Matthias Hug, founder of Fleur & Bee. Unfortunately, most products on the market are not designed for people new to retinol and are too harsh. Our goal was to create a formula people with sensitive skin or new to retinol can use.

Evening primrose oil, aloe vera, and squalane help soothe and reduce any potential inflammation caused by introducing retinol into your routine, says Hug. We created a formula that is choke full of quality ingredients that work synergistically to deliver results and nourish your skin.

Directions: Apply every other night until skin adjusts, then use every night. If used during the daytime, follow with SPF. As with most retinol products, it typically takes 12 weeks to see results. Your skin will be instantly hydrated and moisturized with proper application. It is best to avoid use of benzoyl peroxide and AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) when using retinol.

All ingredients used in Youth Fairy are clean, vegan, and cruelty-free. The product is made with renewable wind energy and packaged in 100% recycled post-consumer waste paper.

Ingredients: Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Water, Organic Sunflower Seed Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate, Globularia Cordifolia Callus Culture Extract (Plant Stem Cells), Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin (Kosher, Vegetable), Stearic Acid, Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil, Organic Evening Primrose Oil, Squalane (From Olive Oil), Shea Butter, Organic Jojoba Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Xanthan Gum, Lecithin, Pentylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), Retinol (Vitamin A), Tara Gum, Alcohol, Potassium Phosphate, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Butylene Glycol, Carbomer, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Organic Green Tea Leaf Extract. Fleur & Bee H2 Oh Yeah Hydrating Moisturizer is an ultra-emollient moisturizer that acts as a very effective humectant.

According to Fleur & Bee,

Hold on to your hats, kids, because we are about to rock your skin care world! Our new H2 Oh Yeah Hydrating Moisturizer is chock full of every heavy-hitting moisturizing ingredient you can name and is formulated to make your skin feel as soft as a baby’s bottom!

Packed with 21 incredible active ingredients, this rich moisturizer will not only provide deep, long-lasting hydration, but it will keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay and keep your skin super smooth! So let’s get to it and talk about why H2 Oh Yeah Hydrating Moisturizer is truly the gold standard when it comes to hydrating moisturizers!

Ingredients and Their Attributes:

Aloe Vera - An incredible humectant, aloe vera is known for both its healing properties and its ability to moisturize the skin. If you have skin that needs soothing, aloe vera comes to the rescue every time!

Sunflower Oil - Sunflowers aren’t just another pretty face! Full of antioxidants like vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K and vitamin D, sunflower oil will help protect your skin from environmental stressors that can harm it. Not only that, but this natural botanical is known for its ability to help unclog pores.

Squalane - Even when using a moisturizer, some of us still need to be careful about controlling the oil we naturally produce which is just some of why we love squalane so much. Since squalane mimics our own naturally occurring oil, our skin is essentially fooled into thinking it’s produced enough and stops!

Grapeseed Oil - If you thought grapes were fabulous for wine, wait until you try them for your skin! Grapeseed oil is non-comedogenic which means it won’t clog your pores. It’ll also help minimize the look of large pores. It’s also fantastic for calming redness which is wonderful for those of us who suffer from it!

Evening Primrose Oil - If you’ve got rough skin with an uneven texture, evening primrose oil is the perfect antidote!

Safflower Oil - Do you have skin that clogs easily? Safflower oil will come to your rescue by keeping them clear and keeping your skin smooth!

Glycerin - Not only is glycerin known for its incredible ability to moisturize the skin, it’s well known for being able to also tighten and firm it! If you’re looking for a great hydrating ingredient that also kills it when it comes to anti-aging, glycerin is the perfect choice!

Vitamin B3 - In addition to being able to restore and strengthen skin, vitamin B3, otherwise known as niacinamide, is a true team player, known for its ability to help the outermost layer of skin retain moisture.

Vitamin B5 - A brilliant humectant, vitamin B5 is able to pull moisture up from the deeper layers of skin to hydrate the outer layer.

Vitamin E - If you know anything about moisturizing the skin you probably know that vitamin E is one of the best moisturizing ingredients you could ever wish for which is why we’ve made sure to include it!

Jojoba Oil - One of the all-star moisturizers of all time, jojoba oil is not only one of the greatest ingredients for hydrating your skin, it’s full of antioxidants like vitamin A, D, and E. It also contains great nutrients like the minerals chromium, copper, and zinc, plus Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids.

Hyaluronic Acid - Hyaluronic acid is an absolute non-negotiable part of any anti-aging skin care routine. Its ability to promote an ageless appearance by making skin look plumper and fuller is second to none as is its ability to give skin that coveted dewy look!

Green Tea - If you think green tea is just for a mid-afternoon break, think again! Among its many wonderful benefits, it contains vitamin A which keeps the outer layers of skin looking amazing. It’s also great for reducing redness if that happens to be a problem.

Geranium Flower Oil - Yes, they look beautiful in flower boxes, but that’s not all geraniums are good for! Geranium flower oil is known for having a natural toning effect on skin. Not only that, it temporarily helps tighten it!

Wild Geranium Extract - You may not be aware of this but wild geranium extract actually has natural astringent properties that help temporarily tighten skin for a more youthful look!

Horsetail Plant - One of those ingredients that even most skincare enthusiasts don’t know a lot about, it helps soothe and calm irritated skin.

Dandelion - The next time you’re pulling unwanted dandelions from your yard, think again! While they may not look great in your yard, they’re well known for being able to soothe irritated skin!

Coenzyme Q10 - If you have an uneven skin tone, you should absolutely know about Coenzyme Q10. With serious antioxidant properties, it helps protect the skin from environmental stressors that can harm it. Found in everything from fruits to veggies to some oils, it’s an incredible addition to this hydrating moisturizer.

Shea Butter - It’s no secret that shea butter helps moisturize the skin but did you also know it helps even out imperfections? If your skin is a little...imperfect, try a little shea butter and see what happens!

Sea Buckthorn Oil - Sea buckthorn oil is packed with fatty acids that help deliver moisture to the skin in a big way to hydrate the skin on a deeper level.

Gotu Kola - Never heard of gotu kola? This wonderful little herb is great at removing skin’s impurities!

September Empties 2021

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

I somehow thought that I would have used up more products in September, but it has been a long and stressful month at work, and I have been a bit too tired and overworked to do much in the way of pampering. I managed to finish up a couple of facial sprays, but the remainder of the products were related to washing, sanitizing and moisturizing my hands.

Here is what I manages to finish in September:

Farmhouse Fresh Vitamin Berry Facial Tonic ($36.00 for 3.5 oz. from Farmhouse Fresh): is an alcohol-free facial tonic with, "an instant natural filter effect that makes pores appear as if they never existed at all." Additionally, this antioxidant-rich tonic remarkably boosts the moisture content of the skin, smooths it, and provides "vital nourishment from aronia berries." I love using facial mists, and this one is not only incredibly refreshing, and appropriate to use when I need a little pick-me-up, but it also does an enviable job setting my makeup during the day, or enhancing the absorption of my face oils a face creams during the morning and evening. It is soothing and such a pleasure to use, and the delectable berry aroma is such a treat to the senses. Purchase Again? While I thoroughly enjoyed this, and would happily use it again, it will be quite a while before I need to purchase any more products of this sort.

This beautiful toner, which contains distilled water and Rose Flower Oil, hydrates and nourishes the skin and leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed. The fine mist, which has the most delectable rose aroma, refreshes the skin and leaves it dewy and luminous. This spray also can be used to help set your makeup, and when refrigerated it gives skin a nice pick-me-up throughout the day! Purchase Again? I think that I have one unopened bottle left!
Spongellé Hand Defense Hand Sanitizer Sea Salt Rose ($12.00 from Spongellé): Rather than drying out the hands, as many hand sanitizers do, this one moisturizes and protects the skin as it kills germs with its 70% alcohol formulation. Vitamin E and Glycerine moisturize and protect the skin, while the complex rose aroma delights the senses, and these are such uncustomary attributes for a hand sanitizer. It has a wonderful light gel consistency that melts into the skin immediately– leaving behind a truly lovely veil of fragrance. Purchase Again? ABSOLUTELY!

Molton Brown Comice Pear & Wild Honey Hand Cream: Molton Brown is unquestionably one of my favorite luxury body care brands, and their hand creams have long ranked among my all-time favorites. Their limited edition Comice Pear & Wild Honey Hand Cream has an utterly delectable aroma of honeyed pears that is otherworldly, and perfect for the season. The nourishing formula deeply moisturizes, conditions and soothes dry skin– leaving it soft, smooth and supple. Purchase Again? I would, but it is no longer available since it was limited edition.

Baylis & Harding Elements Hand Washes are new gorgeously aromatic hand soaps that are sumptuous, luxurious and incredibly affordable. At a mere $3.97 for 16.9 oz. bottles, you will feel as though you are using extremely pricy luxe soaps that should be reserved for only the most special occasions. Each Hand Wash has a complex fragrance profile, and each one is striking and lovely. The formula thoroughly cleans the skin without ever stripping it, and the aroma delights the senses.

Baylis & Harding Fresh Lemon and Mint Luxury Hand Wash ($3.97 for 16.9 oz. from Walmart): "This citrus herbal creation features orange, lemon and lime in the top and leads to orange flower, basil and fresh herbal accords. This luxurious hand wash will leave your hands feeling invigorated and beautifully fragranced." Purchase Again? Without a doubt!

Baylis & Harding Dark Amber & Fig Luxury Hand Wash ($3.97 for 16.9 oz. from Walmart): "A blend of deep amber, cedar and fig notes infused with nourishing Vitamin E. This luxurious hand wash will leave your hands feeling invigorated and beautifully fragranced." Purchase Again? Absolutely!

Overall Assessment: Not an impressive month for skincare product use, but I definitely finished up lots of products to keep my hands clean, sanitized and moisturized! What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in September? Any great finds, or total duds to report?
