Aleph Beauty Hybrid Eye Pigment in Incense is a gorgeous multipurpose cream-based pigment that can be used on the eyes or brows. It a gorgeous satin bronze brown shade that is perfect for lining the upper and lower lids, or as a stunning eyeshadow. It glides across the skin and deposits color with ease, and it offers beautiful buildable coverage. I have found that once it sets, it remains in place all day without any migration or transfer, but if you have particularly oily eyelids you may want to use an eyeshadow primer.

Pro-Tips:

Eyeshadow: build a soft wash of Incense across the lids or blend a subtle contour into the crease under the brow bone.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liners in Bronze, Sea Grey, Fig, Cocoa, Black & Navy Noir Review and Swatches

My friend, Mandy Aftel, told me that she absolutely loves Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liners and that she wanted me to try them to see what I thought. I decided to buy 6 of the colors, and I am so happy that I did. They are made in Italy, and are ultra-luxe high quality liners.

Victoria’s Colour Theory: “I love the idea of using fashion colours to transform and enhance your makeup—it’s colour theory, essentially. Sure, there is a wide range of colours beyond black but they’re all modern neutrals, meant to contrast and enhance your own eye colour.” xVB

I purchased the Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liners in Bronze, Sea Grey, Fig, Cocoa, Black & Navy Noir.

My favorite eye liners were Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencils (Reviewed HERE and HERE) before I purchased Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liners, and now they are unquestionably my favorite eye liners. In my opinion, the formula is absolutely superior to everything else on the market. They are creamy to the touch, ultra-pigmented, and once they set they do not budge. They are waterproof without being harsh, and they glide across the skin effortlessly, deposit color evenly and they do not bleed or feather. There is a sponge-tip applicator on each liner that allows you to smudge effortlessly, and you have enough time to smudge before the liners set. On me, these liners stay put until I remove them at the end of the day. 

Victoria Beckham Beauty is a cruelty-free brand, and these liners are infused with Vitamin E, hydrating pro-vitamin B5, and calming chamomile. They are quite kind and gentle to sensitive eyes like mine, and they can also be used on the waterline and for tight-lining. The colors are spectacularly beautiful independently, but they can also be blended to soften or intensify the lighter and darker shades, respectively. I like to wear several of them at the same time. For instance, I like to first line my upper and lower lids with a color such as Bronze, and then I smudge Black into my lash line to intensify the effect, but also to frame my eyes using a darker color in my lash line for a more stunning visual effect.

Directions: Glide along the lash line and in the waterline to define the eye. Blend out using the smudger for a lived-in, smoky effect.

The color descriptions accurately reflect my interpretations of each of the colors, and I would only add that all six boast the same level of creaminess. Bronze and Sea Grey are beautiful shimmer shades, and there is no fallout or shimmer particles that bother my eyes. Fig is a gorgeous aubergine, but it lacks the same level of intensity as the darker matte shades in Cocoa, Black and Navy Noir. All 6 are absolutely gorgeous.

Overall Assessment: I am absolutely elated by these gorgeous shades, and I am considering buying Olive (which is more of an intense forest green) and Ash (which is a blackened charcoal). If you love a good eye liner pencil, then I highly recommend Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liners. A+++

Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil Waterproof Gel Eyeliner might just be my favorite formula from Lancôme's amazing lineup of liners. I first reviewed the Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner (Reviewed HERE), then the Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl Crayon Contour Yeux Eyeliner Pencil (Reviewed HERE), and now the entire collection of the Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil Waterproof Gel Eyeliner jewel-colored gems. Available in 8 shades with three impactful finishes: matte, metallic and glitter.

These beauties are soft and creamy, they are ultra pigmented in a single pass, they glide across the skin effortlessly without any tugging or pulling, and once they set they don't budge until you remove them at the end of the day. I have not tested their claim that these eyeliners will wear for 24 hours, because I would neither sleep in my makeup, nor stay up for 24 hours to test the theory! The 8 shades are stunningly beautiful, and none of the colors or finishes irritate my sensitive eyes. I don't often wear liners in my waterline, but when I do, I tend to only use matte liners instead of glitter or metallic finishes.

Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl Crayon Contour Yeux Eyeliner Pencil is such a thing of beauty. As a lifelong eye pencil-wearer and enthusiast, this formula is one of my very favorites. While it smudges beautifully it doesn't smear everywhere throughout the day, and it sharpens without breaking or crumbling. This is a true classic Khôl eyeliner pencil in timeless shades. The color saturation intensifies with each pass, and my swatches below were done in two passes.

These swatches were done in two passes, but these eyeliners are buildable and the color saturation becomes more intense.

Overall Assessment: I remember using Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl Crayon Contour Yeux Eyeliner Pencils as a teenager, and I absolutely coveted them then, and love them just as much today! A+

Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner, which has been reformulated, is a very long-wearing waterproof and transfer-proof formula that never tugs or pulls the skin, and it lasts all day on me without any smearing or fading. There is a smudger sponge on one end of the pencil that works beautifully in its ability to soften the line or enhance a smoky eye. I like to use it quickly because I have found that once the liner sets it really doesn't budge. The fine point offers precision foolproof application, and the creamy formula is very easy to work with. The gorgeous colors are exceedingly flattering, and can be built up to maximum opacity with a few passes.

Available in 9 dramatic shades, with two impactful finishes: matte and metallic. I have featured 6 of the 9 shades.

Overall Assessment: These gorgeous waterproof eyeliners are such a pleasure to use, and they are perfect for anyone seeking a long-wearing and transfer-proof formula. Nota Bene: if you have particularly oily eyelids, your wear may vary, but I suspect that a good eyeshadow primer will do the trick.

Urban Decay Rockstar and Empire are the Perfect Pure Purple Paradise

Purple has been my very favorite color for my entire life, and as a teenager I made the discovery that my favorite color also was incredibly flattering when juxtaposed with my hazel eyes. Therefore, I have always sought wonderful purple eye pencils and shadows to line my eyes, and Urban Decay definitely delivers with Empire and Rockstar.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils glide across the skin and deposit color effortlessly, and once they set they don't budge. Rockstar and Empire are stunning, and ultra-flattering, eggplant purple shades that offer buildable coverage, and that are fuss-free to use. They do require sharpening.

Rockstar: is described as the darkest eggplant shimmer

Empire: is described as a dark eggplant matte

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Rockstar is a finely milled shadow, with a sumptuous velvety texture, that glides across the skin and deposits buildable color effortlessly. This pigmented formula is crease-proof, has no fallout and it such a treat to use. I like to use it on my lids, but most often smudge it into my lash line on top of my liner to create more intensity and depth.

Rockstar is a deep aubergine shimmer.

Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Marlene Midnight and Elizabeth Violet | Review and Swatches

As I have previously said, if I had to choose a single makeup item that I use the most, and that I would never want to do without, it would definitely be a great eyeliner pencil. This has been the case since I was a teenager, and I don't imagine that this will change. My most reached-for eyeliner pencils are definitely the Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencils, and I have four shades that I use all of the time (Elizabeth Violet, Marlene Midnight, Barbarella Brown and Bedroom Black. This wonderful formula is so creamy to the touch and easy to blend, and it glides across the skin without any tugging or pulling, and it deposits color evenly and effortlessly. It allows you to create a very clean crisp line, but gives you enough time before setting to make a smoky smudged line as well. Once it does set, it is completely budge-proof, and lasts on me all day long, and without a primer. I do not experience any transfer, smudging or fading, but I do not have very oily eyelids, and your wear-time may vary if you do.

I recently repurchased Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Elizabeth Violet because it is one of my most used pencils, and I didn't want to miss out on wearing this gem of a purple eyeliner. While I have been coveting Elizabeth Violet since I began using it, I found myself mesmerized by the beauty of Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Eyeliner Pencil-Marlene Midnight– which struck me as the perfect deep purplish blue, and I fell madly in love with it from the first moment that I saw it in person. Both of these shades can be built up for greater pigmentation and saturation, but they can also be worn more sparingly, and therefore less intensely.

Elizabeth Violet is a gorgeous slightly muted violet purple.
Marlene Midnight is a sunning navy kohl.
Barbarella Brown is a deep and blackened brown without red undertones.
Bedroom Black is a deep black.

Directions:

1. To use, start by lining your eyes as usual with your favourite Rock ‘n’ Kohl Eyeliner.

2. Apply Rock 'n' Kohl in Eye Cheat along the waterline of the lower and upper lashes to make eyes appear, brighter and more wide awake.

3. Charlotte’s Tip: Use this nude kohl eyeliner paired with the Full Fat Lashes mascara for super wide, doll-like eyes.
