Empties October 2020

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

It is really hard to believe that October is almost over, and that we are entering the holiday season. You can see that I finished very little in the way of skincare, or body care, and I think that I was so bogged down at work that there didn't seem to be enough hours in the day to take that extra bit of time. I did, however, burn candles and use room sprays and essential oils to help me relax after I finished working for the day. Here is what I used up in October:

Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum For Face ($195.00 for  30 ml/ 1 oz. from Space NK and Cult Beauty (210.00€): This lightweight and fast absorbing golden elixir boasts a delectable warm and earthy aroma from which one can detect the Rose Damascena Absolute, Jasminum Grandiflorum Flower and a fusion of the remaining essential oils. The intoxicating aromatherapeutic experience delights and calms the senses while it quiets the mind. I find that I slow down and inhale deeply as I massage in into my skin, and that any residual stress that I may have been experiencing just melts away. This ritual is utterly relaxing, and it heightens the sensory experience of using this luxe oil. This serum significantly bolsters radiance and it leaves skin silky smooth, soft and supple. I note a distinct brightening and evening of my skin tone, a lifting and softening on my fine lines, and an undeniable increase in the long term hydration of my skin. Repurchase? I just opened a new bottle!

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser ($12.00 for 1 oz., $37.00 for 4 oz and $45.00 for 6.76 oz from SukiDermstoreAmazonBirchboxiHerb and SkinStore): I am madly in love with this cleanser and years ago it was my only daily cleanser. Then I started LSBB and began using a far wider range of products and somehow forgot about who much I loved this gem of an exfoliating facial cleanser. The lovely formula, which has the intoxicating scent of organic lemongrass extract, uses natural sugar to exfoliate the dead skin cells leaving your skin soft and silky smooth. I find it non-stripping and non-drying for my normal/combination skin, but if you have dry skin you would likely want to use it less often. I like to activate the light lather in my hands, which also breaks down some of the sugar, then with the lightest touch I massage it into my skin and rinse thoroughly. I use it a few times a week, and I always look forward to it since it is such a delectable treat to the skin and the senses. Repurchase? I already purchased a full-size jar!

Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks ($70.00 for 20 discs from Colbert MDDermstore, Olivela and Amazon): I have regularly used various types of facial exfoliating pads for many years, and have to confess that my experience with Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks was a real game changer for me all of those years ago. While most of the solution soaked exfoliating pads that I have used are thin and double sided, Colbert MD has reimagined its form and instead has opted for a very plush and thick single sided pad. The generously saturated pre-moistened disks include a small tab on the back that makes holding the disk easy, and allows one to maintain effortless control.

The combination of the mild microdermabrasion action from the surface of the pad coupled with the enzyme action of the solution immediately and effectively encourages cell turnover that aids in the promotion of collagen production. Skin, unobstructed by a proliferation of dead skin cells, is then able to effortlessly and effectively absorb skincare products. The end result is unbelievably soft, smooth, supple and luminous skin. Purchase Again? I recently opened a new box, and will definitely purchase another after!

SENTEURS D'ORIENT Hammam Soap in Oriental Gardenia ($36.00 for 7.2 oz. from and Net-A-Porter): Simply put, this is the most beautiful soap imaginable. From the gorgeous design of the soap itself to the otherworldly aroma of the gardenia used to make this ultra-luxe bar– this is the most delectable soap in which to luxuriate. The rich and creamy lather gently cleanses the skin without stripping it, while the beautiful aroma delights the senses. I love that this soap is on a rope– since hanging it allows it to dry out between uses. It smells like the embodiment of gardenia in a warm summer breeze, and I have used it nearly every single day since opening it. If you love the smell of gardenia, you will become as obsessed with this soap as I have. Repurchase? I have another one of their soaps in another scent that I will open soon!

Farmhouse Fresh Oatmeal Goats Milk Soap ($12.50 for 4.5 oz. from Farmhouse Fresh): Farmhouse Fresh Oatmeal Goats Milk Soap features goats milk from California and certified organic oats from Kansas. This rich, emollient and creamy goats milk soap has a wonderful oatmeal aroma, and it's filled with vitamins A and B12, coconut, rice bran, olive oil and buttery fats that nourish and hydrate the skin without ever stripping it. Furthermore, the oatmeal is very gentle on sensitive skin, and I like to use the lather to shave because it is so rich and creamy. There are actual pieces of oatmeal throughout the soap that facilitates light exfoliation. Repurchase? Probably at some point, but I have a drawer filled with soaps that I need to use first.

Dove White Beauty Bar ($2.99-$12.99 for 2-14 bar packs from Target and Walgreens): This gentle, creamy cleansing bar contains ¼ moisturizing cream that leaves skin soft smooth and very clean. Repurchase? Most definitely! This is a staple for my family!

kms California MOIST REPAIR  Leave-In Conditioner ($19.00 from select salons) This deeply penetrates hair and helps detangle, moisturize and fights frizz. I simply spray it on wet or dry hair for added manageability and moisture. The formula is lightweight, the results are immediate, and the effects are long-lasting. Repurchase? I think that I have another bottle in a cabinet!

RITUALS Pure Hammam Shampoo: If you are looking for a color safe volumizing shampoo that gives hair lots of shine, then look no further. Hair is thoroughly cleansed, but never stripped, and the refreshing scent of Eucalyptus is uplifting, but not overpowering. A lovely shampoo, indeed! Repurchase? I don't think that they make this particular shampoo anymore, sadly!
Phytocéane COSTA RICA Moisturizing Body Water's ($48.00 for 100ml. from  can be purchased in select spas and LeSpa USA): This is a delectable hydrating body spray that smells like the embodiment of summer in a bottle. Inspired by the beauty of Costa Rica, this elixir is a lightweight and moisturizing body tonic that has a tropical scent that is punctuated by the aromas of peach, apple, melon and pineapple blended with jasmine, cedar and musk. The aroma sits close to the skin, and it is neither overpowering, nor is it in the least bit cloying. Repurchase? Maybe at some point, but it is more of a summer product.
Artnaturals Artisan Oil Essential 8 Set ($20.00 from Artnaturals): Artnaturals has a large selection of essential oils, but this set of 8 includes: Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Lavender, Lemongrass, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sweet Orange, and Tea Tree. Repurchase? I love their essential oils and I have a lot to use before purchasing replacements.

Artnaturals Signature Essential Oil Rollerball Collection ($29.00 from Artnaturals): If you have someone on your list who loves essential oils, then this set of 8 from Artnaturals is sure to delight them. Each of the essential oil signature blends is formulated in a base of nourishing Jojoba Oil, and conveniently has a rollerball applicator to avoid spills, and to offer easy application. Signature Zen is formulated to relax your body and elevate your mind. Repurchase? Perhaps at some point, but I have lots of essential oils to use up first.
RITUALS The Ritual of Dao Bed & Body Mist: Oh how I love this spray! While it is quite lovely on the skin, I tend to use it to spray my pillows and bedding, and what a wonder it is! The wonderful aroma is a calming light scent that defies a precise description. It is soothing and warm punctuated by the White Lotus, and its delicate aroma promotes relaxation, and makes the bedroom smell heavenly. Repurchase? I would, but I think that it has been discontinued. I highly recommend their products, though!

Gurunanda Essential Oils Room Sprays : These natural room sprays, filled with essential oils, smell amazing, and thankfully they lack the chemical smell of conventional room sprays. They feature a 360-degree, continuous stream of spray without any dripping or any sort of mess. Repurchase? I went looking to repurchase them, but I think that they may have been discontinued!
Malin + Goetz Mojito Votive Candle ($20.00 each from Malin+Goetz): This is a lovely mojito candle that smells delectable and burns for quite a long time. Repurchase? I will consider it once I have used up my collection of candles!

Farmhouse Fresh Whoopie Cream Soy Blend Candle ($35.00 for 11 oz candle with a wooden lid from Farmhouse Fresh): I only had the travel size of this delicious candle, which came in a holiday set, but thankfully they still make them in a full size version with a lovely wooden lid. Repurchase? More than likely.

Lavanila The Healthy Candle Pure Vanilla ($27.99 from Amazon): This clean-burning candle has the most delectable and creamy vanilla aroma that is so soothing and calming! Repurchase? Definitely!

Overall Assessment: I am hoping that I am able to work a little less and pamper myself a little more in November. I definitely didn't mask or exfoliate nearly as often, and I can see and feel the difference!

What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in October? Any hits or misses worth reporting? DO tell!

June Empties 2020

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

I managed to finish up a fairly good size pile of products in June, and I attribute it to working from home during the pandemic. While I am working very long hours each day, the lack of a commute means that I have more time to use skincare products. Here is what I finished up this month:
RITUALS Fortune Oil Sweet Orange & Cedar Wood ($15.00 for 200 ml. from Rituals): RITUALS Fortune Oil Sweet Orange & Cedar Wood from the Laughing Buddha Collection is a wonderfully moisturizing shower oil for the body that functions in precisely the same way as the many facial cleansing oils that have recently flooded the market.

You simply apply a small amount of Fortune Oil Sweet Orange & Cedar Wood to your skin and as soon as it has contact with water it emulsifies and turns from an oil consistency to a thin milky emulsion that effectively cleans the skin, and leaves it delectably soft smooth and moisturized. The scent is a warm amalgam of Sweet Orange & Cedar Wood, and it is neither too sweet, nor too woodsy. While the scent is lovely it does not linger since it is, for the most part, washed away. However, RITUALS does have a full range of products from the Laughing Buddha Collection that will allow you to luxuriate in the beautiful scent. Repurchase? I would, but this scent appears to have been discontinued. I have a backup bottle and a couple other scents.

Nubian Heritage Honey & Black Seed Body Wash ($12.99 for 13 oz. from Nubian HeritageiHerbThe Vitamin Shoppe and Swanson Vitamins): I have to preface this by stating that I am thoroughly obsessed with this body wash. There is something about the aroma– which has a deep, rich and creamy scent informed by the honey, black seed oil and honeysuckle– that is utterly intoxicating. It forms a rich and non-stripping lather that leaves the skin soft, smooth and hydrated, and it does so without leaving behind an oily residue. Repurchase? Absolutely!
Salt By Hendrix Body Scrub Lavender + Petigrain ($35.00-$39.00 from Salt by Hendrix): They make several different body scrubs, and while they seem to have discontinued this one, they have others that are quite amazing. You really can't go wrong with any of their products, but here are two that I am currently using a lot. Repurchase? I would, but they no longer sell this one. However, I love tho others and will continue to use them!

Borghese Fango Body Refining Polish (Discontinued): I absolutely loved this body scrub– it was non-greasy, had a little lather and it left skin so soft and smooth. Sadly, it appears to have been discontinued. Repurchase? I would if it was still available!
Dove White Beauty Bar ($2.99-$12.99 for 2-14 bar packs from TargetWalgreens and Bed, Bath & Beyond): This gentle, creamy cleansing bar contains ¼ moisturizing cream that leaves skin soft smooth and very clean. Purchase Again? Absolutely.

Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar ($3.19-$12.99 for 2-14 bar packs from TargetWalgreens and Bed, Bath & Beyond): If you have sensitive skin, then you likely seek a gentle cleansing bar that will neither strip, nor dry out your skin, and this bar definitely delivers. Furthermore, this bar leaves skin soft, smooth and not in the least bit taut. Purchase Again? I already have more!

South of France Foaming Hand Soaps ($ from South of France Natural Body Care and Amazon):  made with organic Agave Nectar because of its ability to  hydrate and nourish the skin. In fact, their, "richly foaming Hand Wash" is enriched with a proprietary blend of natural vegetable glycerin and Coconut Oil that gently clean the skin while leaving it soft and moisturized. Purchase Again? YES!!!
John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Subtle Lightening Shampoo (Available from UltaWalmartWalgreensAmazonTarget and Bed Bath & Beyond): John Frieda is, without question, one of my favorite drugstore haircare brands. They have so many amazing products from shampoos and conditioners to extraordinary styling products. Their Brilliant Brunette Subtle Lightening Shampoo brightens hair, and it is just perfect for the summer! Repurchase? I already opened another tube!

Artnaturals Hair Coconut & Lime Shampoo & Conditioner ($26.00 for 16 oz. each from Amazon): If dry scalp and hair are among your concerns, or if your hair is frizzy and unruly, then this nourishing and hydrating set is the perfect pick. It moisturizes dry hair, fights frizz and fly-aways and leaves hair soft, smooth, manageable and shiny. The Coconut & Lime aroma is absolutely delectable, but the scent does not linger. Repurchase? I already have another bottle!

Not Your Mother's Naturals Tahitian Gardenia Flower & Mango Butter Curl Defining Detangler ($8.99 for 8 oz. from TargetUlta and Walgreens): This wonderful curl defining detangler is a wonderful pick for wavy and curly hair, and the delectable blend of Tahitian Gardenia Flower & Mango Butter enhances my natural curl without making hair stiff. It leaves hair soft, hydrated, frizz-free and shiny. It is free of sulfates, silicones, phthalates, parabens, gluten or synthetic dyes. Repurchase? Definitely!
Vichy Normaderm Gel Cleanser ($18.00 for 6.7 oz. from VichyCVS and Dermstore): If you have oily or acne-prone skin you know how stripping, drying and irritating acne cleansers can be. I have normal/combination skin, and when I do have the periodic breakout I seek products that are gentle and non-drying. This lightly lathering gel cleanser helps to heal breakouts without dehydrating the skin, and it is gentle enough for sensitive skin. Repurchase? No, because I seldom break out, but I definitely recommend it if you do.

L'Occitane Immortelle Oil Makeup Remover ($34.00 for 6.7 oz. from L'Occitane): This oil to milk emulsion removes every bit of makeup, and it doesn't bother my sensitive eyes. I can't tell if they have changed the formula, or just the bottle, but I definitely loved this! Repurchase? Not now because I am swimming in cleansing oils and makeup removers, but I would definitely use this again.
LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant ($14.00 for 1.7 oz. from LAVANILAAmazon and Ulta): LAVANILA makes wonderful healthy deodorants that are effective and smell wonderful (though they also make an unscented variant for sensitive skin). Their Vanilla Grapefruit scent is probably my favorite because it smells utterly scrumptious, and offers long-lasting protection. Purchase Again? I already have a replacement!
Vichy Mineral 89 Skin Fortifying Daily Booster ($29.50 for 1.69 oz. from Vichy USAUltaAmazonDermstoreSkin Care RXSkinStore and Walgreens): is described as a "new generation face moisturizer." It features 89% of Vichy's iconic Mineralizing Thermal Water that is further enhanced by Hyaluronic Acid to deeply boost hydration and fortify the skin. The consistency is that of a lightweight gel-like serum that sinks into the skin immediately leaving it hydrated with a luminous, ethereal glow. Dehydrated and dull skin gives way to comfortable, refreshed and moisturized skin without any greasy residue or stickiness. Furthermore, this fragrance-free moisturizer plumps fine lines, nourishes the skin and leaves skin soft, smooth and supple. During the summer months, it offers my normal/combination skin enough moisture and hydration that I can forgo a regular moisturizer altogether, and it pairs beautifully with my favorite serums and face oils. Repurchase? I just opened another bottle!

African Botanics Marula Mineral Cleansing Mask ($85.00 for 1.7 oz. from African Botanics, Cult Beauty, Revolve, Bluemercury and Credo Beauty): You may ask yourself how this mask differs from the scores of clay masks on the market, and there are a myriad of reasons for its uniqueness in the marketplace. Chief among them is the fact that this mask does not dry out the skin as do the standard clay-based masks. In fact, African Botanics Marula + Plant Stem Cells Mineral Cleansing Mask moisturizes and nourishes the skin while it purifies and draws out impurities that congest the pores. Repurchase? Yes, this is the best mask ever!
MegRhythm Gentle Steam Eye Mask ($10.99-$17.77 for 7 masks from Yes Style Global and Amazon): If you are looking for serious stress relief, MegRhythm Steam Eye Masks, which stay at a comfortable temperature for 10 minutes, bathe "eyes and the delicate eye area in warm steam." This steam bath for the eyes helps release the tensions of the day. This is the perfect before bedtime treat! Purchase Again? I still have quite a few, but I will definitely repurchase once I finish mine up.
I have sensitive eyes, and therefore I tend to choose non-waterproof formulas since they tend to be more gentle, but SMASHBOX Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Violetta ($21.00 for 0.01 oz. from SMASHBOX, NordstromSephora and Ulta): was quite the surprise in that it neither irritated my eyes, nor did it take tremendous effort to remove. The formula is creamy, it glides across the skin effortlessly and deposits color evenly, and it doesn't tug on the skin in the least bit. It neither transfers and migrates, nor does it flake off. The innovative design self-sharpens each time that you twist the cap off, assuring that you have a nice pointed tip with each use. If you have been seeking an alternative to your standard black or brown eyeliner pencil, then Violetta is a truly gorgeous choice. It is a blackened plum that is neither too purple, nor does it have a red-undertone that can make eyes look tired. It is a gorgeous and infinitely wearable shade that has unquestionably won me over. Repurchase? No question!
Overall Assessment: Well, there you have it! I am a bit surprised that I finished up as many things as I did, but working from home these days means that I have more time to take care of myself. What did you use up, toss out, return or give away in June? Do tell!

May Empties 2020

Press Sample and Purchased (Affiliate Links)

The months seem to be blurring together since we have been under a stay-at-home order, and it really seems as though I just did an empties post for April! As you can clearly see, I am using up a lot of bars of soap each month with all of the necessary hand-washing, and the other products just tend to be daily use items.

LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant ($14.00 for 1.7 oz. from LAVANILA, Amazon and Ulta): LAVANILA makes wonderful healthy deodorants that are effective and smell wonderful (though they also make an unscented variant for sensitive skin). Their Vanilla Grapefruit scent is probably my favorite because it smells utterly scrumptious, and offers long-lasting protection. Purchase Again? I already have a replacement!

Fleur's Delightful Body Exfoliating Mist ($53.50 for 3.3 oz. from LeSpa USA): I am thoroughly obsessed with this exfoliating body mist– it is unlike anything else that I have tried. It has the most gorgeous floral aroma, it hydrates and refreshes the skin, and it effectively exfoliates dead skin cells. Simply spray it on your body, gently massage the skin and let it do the rest. Purchase Again? Maybe eventually, but I already have a couple of foaming and gel body exfoliants that I need to use up first.

LAVANILA Vanilla Grapefruit Rollerball ($19.00 for 0.33 oz. from LAVANILA and Ulta): This combination of warm Madagascar Vanilla and tangy pink grapefruit is such an unexpected surprise. The vanilla warms up grapefruit and transforms it into a creamy, warm citrus. Purchase Again? I have a full size bottle that I am currently using!

Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge Perfume ($240.00 for 1.7 oz. from Sephora and Nordstrom): Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge Perfume (sample): I love this scent! According to Tom Ford, "Voluptuous, sensuous and audacious, TOM FORD Jasmin Rouge is a saturated, spiced floral. An unexpected blend of precious sambac jasmine sepals absolute—an ingredient never used before in perfumery—with dusky clary sage and rich spices." Purchase Again? I would definitely consider purchasing a small bottle, but I need to use up a few of my perfumes first.
MegRhythm Gentle Steam Eye Mask ($10.99-$17.77 for 7 masks from Yes Style Global and Amazon): If you are looking for serious stress relief, MegRhythm Steam Eye Mask, which stays at a comfortable temperature for 10 minutes, bathes "eyes and the delicate eye area in warm steam. This 'steam bath for the eyes' helps with deep release of the tension of the day and soothes the mind. Purchase Again? I have two full boxes, and I will definitely repurchase when they are nearly empty!

Flowerspice Modern Apothecary Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturiser Rose & Coriander with Prickly Pear and Aloe Vera ($82.00 value from Boxwalla): This ultra-creamy moisturizer is rich, and yet luxuriously light and fast absorbing– it melts into the skin immediately, and it leaves behind no greasy residue whatsoever. It leaves skin remarkably soft, supple, lightly plumped, hydrated and luminous. It has a wonderful scent that is informed by the Rose and Coriander– thus it has a lightly spicy floral aroma that is utterly beautiful. Purchase Again? I definitely will once I finish up a couple of my open face creams, this stuff is sensational!
Artnaturals Hair Argan Oil Conditioner ($26.00 for 16 oz. each from Target): This conditioner, which is enriched with Argan Oil, is formulated to condition and protect hair while moisturizing, strengthening and enhancing manageability. This formula is safe for color-treated hair, gentle enough for curly dry hair, and it doesn't weigh down fine hair. Furthermore, it leaves hair soft, shiny, manageable and adds volume to lifeless tresses. It has a light scent that is clean and not long-lasting. Purchase Again? I already have a replacement bottle!

Mario Badescu A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap ($8.00 for 8 oz. and $14.00 for 16 oz. from Ulta and Nordstrom): This Alpha Hydroxy Acid body wash effectively exfoliates dead skin cells without any exfoliating particles, and it does so without stripping the skin in the least bit. It has a nice lather and a pleasant subtle aroma and it leaves skin soft and supple. I only use it where I seek exfoliation, and then use a non-exfoliating body wash elsewhere. Purchase Again? Just as soon as I finish up a few more body washes.

June Jacobs Fresh Squeezed Lemon Cleanser ($44.00 for 6.7 oz. from June Jacobs and Walmart): This wonderfully uplifting aromatic lemon cleanser is lightly lathering, non-stripping, and gentle enough for daily use. It effectively sweeps away dirt and makeup without ever drying or over-working the skin. The nourishing formula leaves skin feeling fresh, clean, soft and supple. Purchase Again? While I would definitely use this again, I am currently swimming in facial cleansers, so I won't need another for quite a while.
Dove Pink Beauty Bar ($2.99-$12.99 for 2-14 bar packs from Target and Walgreens): This creamy cleanser contains ¼ moisturizing cream to help make skin soft, smooth and hydrated. It doesn't strip skin in the least, nor does it leave it taut. Purchase Again? Most definitely! I already have more bars!

Most definitely! I already have more bars!

Nubian Heritage Olive Oil & Green Tea Bar Soap ($4.99 for 5 oz. from Nubian HeritageiHerbThe Vitamin Shoppe and Swanson Vitamins): This wonderful bar soap has a rich and emollient lather that is neither stripping, nor is it in the least bit drying. In fact, it hydrates and nourishes the skin while the green tea leaves offer gentle exfoliation for the removal of dead skin cells. The aroma is intoxicating and exhilarating, and it fills the shower with its fresh green essence. Purchase Again? Oh yes!

L'Occitane Extra Gentle Soaps ($14.00 for 8.8 oz. from Sephora and Skin Store): You simply can't go wrong with any of L'Occitane's beautiful, and moisturizing soaps. I prefer to buy the large bars since they last for such a long time. Purchase Again? YES!
Overall Assessment: Well, there you have it. As you can see, I used lots of soaps and a little bit of this and that. What did you use up or toss out in March? Any real duds or winners to report?

Empties Post October 2019

Purchased & Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

I managed to finish up a decent number of products in the month of October, and I wanted to share the highlights with you. Here is what I used up:

1) Tula Purifying Cleanser ($28.00 for 6.7 oz. from Tula, Nordstrom, Ulta and Neiman Marcus): While I only had a deluxe sample of this cleanser, I used it in my travel bag and found that it thoroughly cleaned my skin without drying or stripping. I have used lots of other products from Tula, and find their probiotic range of skincare quite effective. Purchase Again? I am currently swimming in facial cleansers, and it will be a long time before I need to purchase any, but I would consider buying this one when the time comes.

2) African Botanics Neroli Infused Marula Oil ($120.00 for 1 oz. from African Botanics, Dermstore, Violet Grey, Credo Beauty, Net-A-Porter, Neiman Marcus, Bluemercury and Cult Beauty): This glorious lightweight oil is fast absorbing and deeply nourishing. It smells divine, and imparts an unbelievable healthy glow. African Botanics Neroli Infused Marula Oil remains one of my all-time favorite oils because it keeps my skin perfectly balanced, deeply nourished and moisturized, and with an unbelievable luminosity and clarity. It is so nourishing and moisturizing, in fact, that I am able to forgo an added moisturizing cream at night. I have even used this as my sole moisturizer during the day and my skin looked and felt amazing. I often add a few drops to my foundations and tinted moisturizers and it most definitely enhances their effects. Purchase Again? YES! While I have finished up my travel sizes of this miracle elixir, I have a full bottle in rotation, and I will replace it as soon as I need another one. This remains one of my holiest of holy grail face oils!

3) Sisley Paris Black Rose Precious Face Oil ($235.00 for 0.84 oz./ 25 ml. from Nordstrom, Barneys New YorkNeiman MarcusBergdorf GoodmanSaks Fifth AvenueBloomingdale'sSelfridges (£136.00), Liberty London (£136.00), Harvey Nichols (£143.00) and John Lewis (£136.00). This is an antioxidant-rich anti-aging dry oil that is rich in Omegas 3 and 6, and it offers a very high concentration of active ingredients. This silky-smooth elixir sinks in quickly and deeply nourishes the skin, and one of the most immediately obvious effects is that skin is left feeling like velvet to the touch. This luscious velvet rose miracle is a joy to the senses because the tactile effects coupled with the glorious rich rose scent makes its use a truly extraordinary sensory experience.

I apply a few drops of this luxurious oil to my warm and freshly cleansed face, neck and décolleté and it sinks in immediately. My skin is immediately left deeply moisturized and nourished, and it is rendered soft, supple and glowing. Furthermore, my skin appears even in tone, lifted, and my fine lines are softened and plumped. Purchase again? Absolutely, even though I have many open bottles of luxury face oils open– it's really that good.

4) evanhealy Rosehip Treatment Facial Serum ($34.95 for 0.5 oz. from evanhealy and Amazon): This stunning amber elixir is nothing short of a miraculous achievement in my assessment because it is tremendously lightweight and fast absorbing, but it is likewise among the most nourishing and hydrating oils that I have ever tried. Not only does it plump fine lines and fade hyperpigmentation, but it also evens skin tone and balances the skin. Furthermore, skin is left with an unmistakable ethereal glow that one comes to expect from the highest quality luxury face oils, but in this case at a fraction of the price, and it does so without sacrificing a thing. It is an utter delight to use, and the heavenly rose scent is just divine. Purchase Again? Definitely, this is a first-rate face oil.

5) The Organic Pharmacy Rose Plus Marine Collagen Anti-Aging Complex ($235.00 for oz. from Nordstrom, Barneys New York, Bloomingdale's and Selfridges): This intensive anti-aging treatment lifts, firms, nourishes, protects, and renews skin without any harsh chemical compounds.
I have also found that Rose Plus Marine Collagen Complex is moisturizing to the extent that during the warmer months I don't find it necessary to use an additional moisturizer for my normal-combination skin. Rose Marine Plus Collagen Complex has a light scent that is a toned down quasi floral/rose that dissipates soon after application. Purchase Again? Absolutely!

6) Sponge Skincare Gel Katharistiko Cleanser (Their website is no longer online): Sponge Skincare products were made in Greece by a family who had been making natural skincare products for more than thirty years. Among the key ingredients used by Sponge is olive oil, Vitamins D & E,  and organic and wild crafted herbs. This wonderfully aromatic, and hydrating cleanser, cleans without stripping and leaves skin soft, hydrated and nourished. Luckily I had backup bottle that I will thoroughly enjoy, but I miss the days when I could buy their products at Barneys New York. Purchase Again? I would in a second. I really hope that they didn't go out of business because their skincare products were absolutely extraordinary.

7) Le Couvent des Minimes 3 in 1 Micellar Water (Reviewed here): I love love love this delicious rose scented Micellar Water! It effectively and gently removes makeup from face, lips and eyes, and leaves skin soft and smooth! I went to purchase another bottle and discovered that their website no longer exists. I did a little further digging and it appears as though L'Occitane has sold this company. I hope that this product becomes available again, because I really loved it! Purchase Again? Without question, if it becomes available again.
8) Artnaturals Lavender Essential Oil ($29.95 for 4 oz from Amazon and iHerb): Artnaturals has a large selection of essential oils, and I have a large collection of them. Their products are consistently high in quality and they are always a pleasure to use. Purchase Again? I just opened another bottle of Lavender Essential Oil, but would definitely buy more from this brand when the time comes.

9) Aroma Foundry Ylang Ylang Essential Oil (Regularly $18.00 for .5 fl oz from Aroma Foundry and Aroma Foundry Amazon Store): I love using Ylang Ylang on my wrists, and in my diffuser before I fall asleep because it has a tremendous calming and relaxing effect. Its unique earthy, quasi-floral aroma is one that I find utterly hypnotic. Purchase Again? I have numerous essential oils from Aroma Foundry, and would definitely purchase more from them. Their Ylang Ylang is one of my favorites!

10) Yuni Muscle Recovery Gel ($17.00 for 2 oz. from Yuni, Target, Ulta and The Detox Market): This gel  gives serious relief to aching muscles, tendons, and ligaments that are sore or overworked. The peppermint oil eases pain, offers relief to tired muscles, and the effective anti-inflammatory properties of the Arnica heal bruising while reducing inflammation. Purchase Again? Definitely!

11) African Botanics Detoxifying Salt & Sugar Body Scrub ($55.00 for 6.76 oz. from African Botanics, Nordstrom, Net-A-Porter, Violet Grey, Blue Mercury and Neiman Marcus): This is an antioxidant-rich body scrub that gently and effectively eliminates dead skin cells while it increases blood flow– which accelerates the removal of toxins. The exfoliating particles, which are comprised of raw cane sugar and mineral-rich pink Himalayan crystal salt, densely populate the oil-infused formula, and they do an exemplary job removing dead skin cells. These particles are not jagged, and therefore do not damage or traumatize the skin, and they naturally dissolve against the skin– unlike scrubs with synthetic particles that pollute the waterways. The warm, Neroli and Grapefruit aroma is delectable and calming– while the formula is itself ultra-nourishing. Once the sugar and salt dissolve, a thin veil of nourishing oils coat the skin and offer it deep moisture, and stunning luminosity. Unlike many oil-based body scrubs, African Botanics Marula Detoxifying Salt & Sugar Body Scrub thankfully does not leave an oil-slick on the shower floor. Without fail, once I emerge from the shower, my skin is left ultra soft, silky-smooth, supple, hydrated and luminous. The formula is so gently and soothing that it is suitable for all types of skin. Purchase Again? Without question. This is one of the very best scrubs that I have ever used!

12) Senteurs D'Orient Tuberose Soap ($36.00 for 7.2 oz. from Net-A-Porter): I have previously waxed poetic about the wonders of Senteurs d'Orient's truly amazing handcrafted luxury soaps (Reviewed HEREHERE and HERE), and unsurprisingly feel equally effusive about their Tuberose Hammam Soap. The Senteurs d' Orient Hammam soaps are the most beautiful soaps imaginable. From the gorgeous design of the soap itself to the otherworldly aroma of the creamy, delectable Tuberose used to make this ultra-luxe bar.  The rich and creamy lather gently cleanses the skin without stripping it, while the beautiful aroma delights the senses. This gorgeous soap is suspended on a rope– which allows it to effectively dry out between uses. This is the perfect hostess gift, holiday gift or gift for yourself, and I assure you that the recipient will be thrilled by this gorgeous gem of a soap. Purchase Again? Yes, definitely! Their soaps are on my holiday gift-giving list, and I have already opened a fresh bar for myself!

Overall Assessment: I would love to hear what you used up, tossed out, gave away or returned this month. Were there any winners that are worth considering? Any big misses to avoid? Do tell!
