I love drinking coffee, tea and occasionally red wine, and these are three of the main culprits that stain the teeth. Therefore, I have to periodically use whitening strips to remove the stains they leave behind. Lumineux Whitening Toothpaste ($10.00 for 3.75 oz. from Lumineux, Walmart, Amazon, Target and iHerb): What can I say, I love this toothpaste! It is minty fresh, makes my teeth feel very clean and it uses natural ingredients to help remove coffee, tea and red wine stains. Whitening toothpastes are often too harsh for my sensitive teeth, but thankfully this one isn't.

Lumineux Whitening Strips ($40.00 for 14-pack from Lumineux, Walmart, Amazon, Target and iHerb): My dentist charges a small fortune for in-office teeth whitening, and of course none of this type of treatment is covered by insurance. Therefore I tend to use whitening strips when my teeth need stain removal. Many commercial over-the-counter whitening strips are uncomfortable or painful for my sensitive teeth. Lumineux Whitening Strips do not irritate my sensitive teeth, and they effectively remove stains without harsh chemicals.

Lumineux Bright2 Whitening Pen ($50.00 for two-pack from Lumineux, Walmart, Amazon and Target): This pen actually protects teeth against getting stains and it removes them as well. It is effective and it doesn't bother my sensitive teeth. Furthermore, the pen easily stows away in a purse or travel bag.

Directions: Remove cap and twist pen to dispense gel. Smile wide, keeping lips away from teeth. Apply two thin coats to teeth. If using as a whitening pen, wait 30 minutes before eating or drinking. If using as a stain repellent you can enjoy your favorite staining food or beverage (coffee, tea, red wine etc.) 60 seconds after application. Use daily!

Lumineux Toothbrush ($24.00 for 4-pack from Amazon): This sustainable bamboo toothbrush has soft bristles that are effective and gentle. This toothbrush lives in my travel bag, and I can't say enough good things about it. When I am at home I use a sonic toothbrush, and therefore I am curious to try Lumineux's electric toothbrush.

FOREO ISSA MINI 3 is my latest FOREO toothbrush, and it is oh so good! Don't let the fact that this is a "mini" cause you to question its efficacy– it is a very effective sonic toothbrush that thoroughly cleans teeth, gums, tongue and cheeks. I have found that using a sonic toothbrush is a proactive step in my daily oral health, and for me sonic toothbrushes do a better job of cleaning teeth and gums than standard manual toothbrushes. I prefer using a sonic to a standard electric toothbrush because the sonic pulses boast tremendous efficacy.

The silicone bristles gently clean gums while the combination of silicone bristles and PBT polymer bristles do a very effective job cleaning my teeth. As I have said before, I really like for my teeth to feel ultra clean, and for me the inner core of PBT polymer bristles provide the requisite degree of tension against the teeth to remove food particles, stains and plaque. On the back of the brush, there are raised ridges specifically designed to clean the tongue, and they do so efficiently given their shape coupled with the sonic vibrations.

I use this toothbrush twice a day, and it is gentle on my sensitive teeth, gums and tongue, but without sacrificing efficacy. Furthermore, it cleans without stripping, and it does leaves my mouth feeling refreshed. I use a variety of toothpastes from the whitening variety to normal drugstore brands, and the results are always excellent.

Doctor Plotka’s Mouth Watchers Toothbrushes

I generally use an electric toothbrush, but I always have a few manual toothbrushes in rotation for at-home use and for travel. I recently started testing Doctor Plotka’s Mouth Watchers Toothbrushes, and they are, without question, my very favorite manual toothbrushes that I have tried. They are made with antimicrobial and antibacterial silver-infused bristles that destroy bacteria and viruses that otherwise grow with abandon in toothbrushes.

The bristles themselves are dual-layered that actually floss as they are able to reach deeper between the teeth and gum-line than other manual toothbrushes that I have tried. Don't get me wrong, I still floss, but these bristles definitely help to dislodge trapped food. The toothbrushes that I received are soft, but there is more than enough structure to give my teeth and gums a good brushing without overdoing it.

FOREO ISSA 2 Sonic Toothbrush Review

Investing in an effective electric or sonic toothbrush, that effectively cleans teeth and gums, is an important step in being proactive in one's oral health. Sonic toothbrushes definitely to do a better job of cleaning teeth and gums than standard manual toothbrushes, and I prefer using a sonic to an electric toothbrush because the sonic pulses boast tremendous efficacy.

I have used a wide variety of electric toothbrushes over the years, but I find the FOREO ISSA 2 Sonic Toothbrush to be more effective and pleasurable to use. The silicone bristles gently and effectively clean gums while the combination of silicone bristles and PBT polymer bristles do a very effective job cleaning my teeth. On the back of the brush there are a series of raised ridges that were specifically designed to clean the tongue, and they do so quite effectively and efficiently given their shape coupled with the sonic vibrations.

I use my FOREO ISSA 2 Sonic Toothbrush in Pink Pearl twice a day, and it is gentle on my sensitive teeth, gums and tongue, but powerful enough to thoroughly clean without stripping, and it does a formidable job removing plaque, whitening my teeth and leaving my mouth feeling exceedingly well cleaned. I use a variety of toothpastes from the whitening variety to normal drugstore brands, and the result is always exceptional.

I have tried the all silicone brush head that FOREO makes, but the combination brush head of PBT polymer and soft silicone is definitely my preference since I find that the silicone bristles alone don't provide enough friction for my liking when it comes to cleaning my teeth. I really like for my teeth to feel ultra clean, and for me the inner core of PBT polymer bristles provide the requisite degree of tension against the teeth to remove food particles, stains and plaque.

Directions:

1. Apply Toothpaste. Use your regular toothpaste and turn ISSA 2 on.

There is no question that it's very important to find an effective toothbrush that can effectively clean teeth and gums, and electronic sonic toothbrushes definitely have a tendency to do a better job of cleaning than standard manual toothbrushes. I have used a wide variety of electric toothbrushes over the years, but I was the most excited about trying the FOREO ISSA HYBRID SONIC TOOTHBRUSH. I love the innovative modern design, the ergonomic handle for comfortable use and the combination of gentle silicone bristles that surround the inner core of PBT polymer bristles.

The silicone bristles gently and effectively clean gums while the combination of silicone bristles and PBT polymer bristles do a remarkable job cleaning my teeth. On the back of the brush one finds a series of raised ridges that were specifically designed to clean the tongue, and it does so quite effectively and efficiently because of their shape in conjunction with the sonic vibration.

I use my FOREO ISSA HYBRID SONIC TOOTHBRUSH in Lavender every single day, except when I am traveling light, and I can say that it is gentle enough so as not to be rough on my teeth, gums and tongue, but powerful enough to thoroughly clean without stripping, and it does a formidable job removing plaque, whitening my teeth and leaving my mouth feeling exceedingly well cleaned. I use a variety of toothpastes from the whitening variety to normal drugstore brands, and the end result is consistently high performing.

I have not tried the all silicone brush head that FOREO makes, but the FOREO ISSA HYBRID is definitely my preference since I find that the silicone bristles alone don't provide enough friction for my liking when it comes to cleaning my teeth. I really like for my teeth to feel ultra clean, and for me the inner core of PBT polymer bristles provide the requisite degree of tension against the teeth to remove food particles, stains and plaque.
