Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No.002 | Review and Swatches

Purchased (Affiliate Links)

I have long held that Burberry Beauty makes superior quality products, and their eye shadows have been among my favorites since I began using them years ago. My latest Burberry eye shadow acquisition, Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No. 002, has proven to be my favorite shadow from the line.

Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No. 002 ($29.00 from BurberrySephoraNordstromSaks Fifth Avenue and Net-A-Porter): Nude No. 002 is, in my estimation, the perfect shade of cool-toned taupe with a gorgeous luminosity and sheen. The formula is ultra-finely milled, it feels creamy to the touch, and it glides across the skin effortlessly as it deposits color evenly. It is long-wearing, and for me doesn't even require a primer for all-day wear. However, if you have particularly oily eyelids, I would recommend the use of a primer. It can be worn wet, or dry, but my personal preference is dry since I don't feel to amplify the luminosity by creating a foiled effect. If, however, you seek a more pronounced metallic effect, then applying Nude No. 002 with a damp brush delivers a  gorgeous and dramatic metallic sheen.

According to Burberry Beauty,

A highly blendable powder eye shadow that gives an effortless wash of luminous, highlighting color.  This lightweight, talc-free powder shadow blends highly pigmented color with light-reflecting particles. The smooth texture gently glides onto the lid for an even application and delivers an effortless wash of luminous, highlighting color. The versatile formula gives multiple results: apply it with a dry brush for an even wash of color or wet for vibrant intensity. Wear alone or mix and match with Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow.

Isn't this the perfect shade of cool-toned taupe ?!

Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Midnight BrownBurberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Pale Barley and Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No. 002 I own all three, but my Midnight Brown and Pale Barley are the original formula. If I could own only one, I would select Nude No. 002. Nude No. 002 differs from Midnight Brown and Pale Barley because it is from Burberry's Glow Shadow formula, whereas the other two are from the Silk Shadow formula. I personally am very drawn to Nude No. 002 because I think it is a perfect shade of taupe with a stunning luminosity and sheen. If I had to pick one, it would be Nude No. 002, but Midnight Brown and Pale Barley remain gorgeous staples in my eye shadow wardrobe.
Ingredients: Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Glycerin, Zinc Stearate, Squalane, Dimethicone, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polysorbate 20, 1,2-Hexanediol, Tin Oxide, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Xanthan Gum, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Silica, Nylon-12. +/- (May Contain): CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 75470 (Carmine), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides).

By Request: Burberry Beauty Wet & Dry Shadows in Midnight Brown, Pale Barley and Nude No. 002 | Swatches

A longtime reader asked me to swatch Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Midnight BrownBurberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Pale Barley and Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No. 002 side by side to help her determine which of the three to buy. She also asked me which one I would buy, if I could only select one. I own Midnight Brown and Pale Barley in the original formula, but I do not own Nude No. 002– and for this reason alone I would select Nude No. 002. That said, Nude No. 002, but make no mistake about it– Midnight Brown and Pale Barley are gorgeous staples in my eye shadow wardrobe.

Top 10 Beauty Picks for a Luminous Golden Glow

Press Samples & Purchased by Me (Affiliate Links)

Now that summer is here I am more interested in luminous glowing skin and a healthy natural finish rather than heavier makeup. A beautiful ethereal golden glow with a dewy finish is one of my favorite and most sought-after choices during the summer months, and therefore I thought that you would like to see my current favorites. In addition to a high SPF sunscreen, a great tinted moisturizer and a touch of mascara and eye liner– here are my favorites to make me glow from head to toe.
1) Tom Ford Lip Color Vanilla Suede (Reviewed here): Tom Ford Lip Color in Vanilla Suede is a glimmering pale golden peachy beige with gorgeous golden pearl. At first, this pale glimmering beauty looks as though it would be too pale to be in the least bit flattering, but like Nude Vanilla once it warms up it seems to adapt to its environment and it becomes an immensely flattering and glistening golden nude. It also makes a stunning base for other lipsticks, hybrids, and glosses because of its inherent ability to add dimension when layered with other products. Worn as a simple wash of color, it has all of the beauty and warm one could want for summer. It is sunshine in a tube on a warm summer day.

According to Tom Ford Beauty,

To Tom Ford, there is no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip. It is the focus of the face and it has the power to define a woman's whole look. Each lip color is Tom Ford's modern ideal of an essential makeup shade. Rare and exotic ingredients, including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil, create an ultra-creamy texture with an incredibly smooth application. Specially treated pigments are blended to deliver pure color with just the right balance of luminosity.

$52.00 from Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale'sSaks Fifth Avenue and Selfridges.
2) Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Bare (Reviewed here): Tom Ford Lip Color Shine in Bare is a nude peachy beige with gorgeous peachy golden shimmer. Bare is among the moisturizing hybrid lip products that has the comfort  and moisturizing properties of a fabulous lip balm, but wears like a lipstick. It glides on the lips effortlessly and offers gorgeous color with twinkling pearl suspended in a luminous shiny base. It looks and feels wonderful, and it is by far my very favorite lipstick hybrid formula on the market.

According to Tom Ford Beauty,

For Tom Ford, lips can be a woman's most alluring feature. Tom Ford Lip Color Shine envelops the lips in a semitransparent, high-shine color veil. Each sensuous and delicate shade glides on with a luminous sheen, instantly moisturizing and conditioning the lips.

Developed with the rare and exotic ingredients—soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter, and chamomilla flower oil—the Tom Ford Lip Color Shine conditions, moisturizes, and delivers a color with lustrous shine.

$52.00 from Nordstrom, Neiman MarcusBergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Selfridges.

3) BITE Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Champagne Pearl (Reviewed here): BITE Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Champagne Pearl, which is a dazzling rose gold pearl,  has a very very thick and dense consistency. You need to squeeze pretty hard from the bottom of the tube in order to dispense it, and it takes a while to coax it out of the tube, but it is pure roe gold magic hen you do! The benefit of its thickness is that it coats, and clings to the lips with serious tenacity, and I find it very comfortable on the lips. It leaves my lips soft, supple, nourished, and very deeply moisturized. Champagne Pearl, described as a rose gold pearl, is a stunning twinkling rose gold that is incredibly flattering.

$26.00 for .52 oz. from Sephora.
Left to Right: Vanilla Suede,  Bare, Champagne Pearl and Camellia Lip Balm
4) TATCHA GOLD Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm (Reviewed here): This clear lip balm has a remarkable gel consistency that feels indescribably comfortable on the lips. It boasts the perfect amount of cushion as it spreads effortlessly across the lips, and might be likened in texture to an emollient lip gloss. Upon first application it has a medium glossy finish, but once it is largely absorbed it results in a lower shine finish-- making it perfect for men and women. The first dozen uses offer an ethereal golden glow because of the inclusion of the delightfully decadent gold leaf on top, but once it wears away it is simply a clear balm.

As one might guess from the nourishing list of ingredients, GOLD Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm is remarkably hydrating and nourishing, and has the ability to render parched lips utterly soft and smooth with little coaxing. In addition to being a wonderful stand-alone lip balm, this elegant gold-laden beauty likewise serves as a wonderful base for lipsticks.

According to TATCHA,

This intensely hydrating lip balm absorbs quickly and smoothly, leaving lips soft and touchable. The 24-karat gold leaf crushes upon application. Hand-laid 24-karat gold leaf adds a touch of sensual shimmer.

$36.00 for 0.28 oz. from TATCHA and Barneys New York.
5) TATCHA LUMINOUS Dewy Skin Mist (Reviewed here): TATCHA'S wildly popular Luminous Dewy Skin Mist is no ordinary misting spray, but instead it is a silky smooth lightweight liquid moisturizer. When misted on the face it offers the perfect veil of moisture, soothing hydration, and a gorgeous and unexpected luminosity.

In order to use Luminous Dewy Skin Mist you simply shake the elegant bottle and then spray the semi-opaque milky emulsion. The soothing fine mist feels amazingly hydrating and calming on the skin, and can be used whenever your skin needs a boost. TATCHA asserts this product is ideal for dry and combination skins, but I think that it is perfect for anyone who seeks hydration.

Luminous Dewy Skin Mist can either be sprayed on bare skin, or it can also be used over your foundation without disturbing your makeup. Use it any time of the day or night, but be prepared to become completely obsessed with this magical potion!

According to TATCHA, their Luminous Dewy Mist is:

A silky liquid moisturizer spray of Squalane, Red Algae and our HADASEI-3 complex can be misted for a boost of soothing hydration, resulting in dewy, luminous skin anytime, anywhere.

This milky emulsion contains moisturizers and humectants leaving skin rehydrated. Does not contain high levels of alcohol and fragrance found in conventional hydrating sprays, which can dry out the skin.
It is ideal for dry and combination skin.

$48.00 for 1.35 oz. from TATCHA, Barneys New York and Amazon.
6) TATCHA Camellia Beauty Oil (Reviewed here): TATCHA GOLD Camellia Beauty Oil is an extraordinarily beautiful face oil that is of the very highest quality. As I have previously stated, "not only is it made from the highest quality ingredients, but this elegant elixir is featherlight, sinks into the skin immediately, leaves behind no greasy film or residue, and gives skin a stunning ethereal glow." If you are i the least bit obsessed with luxury beauty oils, as am I, then you really and truly owe it to yourself to try this one.
You can see that the oil, punctuated by gold flakes, is very light in texture.

I simply apply TATCHA GOLD Camellia Beauty Oil to slightly damp freshly washed skin after warming it in my hands, and then I massage it into my face, neck and décolleté. If there is any remaining oil on my hands I simply work it into my hair and cuticles. This lightly scented oil sinks in immediately leaving skin deeply hydrated, nourished and utterly luminous. The  luxurious silky texture, 24-karat gold flakes, and beautiful scent make the tactile experience of its use an even more decadent than one can begin to imagine. This is absolute unadulterated luxury oil perfection. It really doesn't get any better than this!

Benefits:
  • Rich in Squaline, Camellia, Rice and Macadamia Nut Oils that deeply nourish the skin.
  • Infused with Licorice Extract to gently calm the skin.
  • Bamboo and Green Tea fragrances evoke the Kyoto countryside.
  • 24-karat gold flecks add a subtle sensual glow to the skin.
Apply a few drops of this luxurious elegant oil to the face, neck, décolletage and hair for indescribably soft, nourished and glowing skin and hair.

$95.00 for 1.01 oz. from TATCHA and Barneys New York.
7) African Botanics Marula Shimmering Gold Oil (Reviewed here): Marula Shimmering Gold Oil is a gorgeous antioxidant rich multipurpose oil that is unbelievably nourishing and hydrating. It is lightweight in texture and imparts an ethereal glow that illuminates the hair and skin. In the hair it offers deep conditioning and frizz control while adorning your tresses with a gorgeous golden luminosity. This richly nourishing oil hydrates and smooths the skin while giving it the most gorgeous and refined golden shimmer. Skin and hair is left utterly luminous, soft, supple and quenched. The subtle scent is an intoxicating blend of Gardenia, Magnolia, Neroli and Vanilla Bean, and it is so delectable that I just can't get enough of it.

Marula Shimmering Gold Oil is described as,

An ultra-nourishing gold shimmering, rare fusion that illuminates every complexion and can be used on face, body and hair. Infused with an exquisite antioxidant-rich complex of restorative African Marula, Moringa, Baobab and Kalahari Melon seed oils especially chosen for their resilience to harsh climatic conditions and ability to deeply nourish, soothe, soften and maintain skin youthfulness and firmness.

Light and airy in texture, it captures and reflects the radiant splendour of glimmering African sunsets, beautifying with translucent mother of pearl minerals to illuminate skin and enhance its natural radiance. Meadowfoam oil improves skin vitality, while an aromatic blend of Gardenia and macerated Magnolia enhanced by fresh Neroli and Vanilla Bean create a beautiful floral scent.

Treats:
  • Dull dry skin, uneven texture and tone
  • Damaged and stressed skin
  • Lack of elasticity and firmness
  • After sun exposure to extend the tan and keep skin glowing
$85.00 for 3.38 oz. from African Botanics, Space NKBeauty Bar, b-glowing and Amazon.
8) Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (Reviewed here): The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette comes in a sleek and very portable compact that is easy to stow in your travel bag.

This palette contains:

Dim Light: A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with a balance of warm and cool tones.

Dim Light is a pale neutral to warm leaning light beige with a very subtle luminescent sheen. I love to lightly dust it all over my face, and the result is that it imparts a lovely ethereal glow that is quite natural looking. It works wonders in its ability to blur imperfections, and never settles into pores or accentuates fine lines.

Incandescent Light: An opalescent pearl powder that highlights the cheekbones and brightens the complexion with a celestial glow (Exclusive to this palette).

Incandescent Light is a lovely very light pale beige shade that offers the skin a gorgeous celestial glow as Hourglass suggests. The shimmer does not translate to unrefined glitter that settles into pores or fine lines, but instead this gorgeous luminous powder captures the light beautifully as in enhances cheekbones and generally brightens and illuminates the complexion.

Radiant Light: A sun-kissed golden beige powder that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth, and also extends a summer glow.

While you can lightly brush Radiant Light all of your face, or anywhere you want to create the illusion of a sun-kissed complexion, I prefer to use it as a bronzer, and unlike most bronzers this one does not oxidize on my skin leaving me with an orange cast. Radiant Light is ultra-finely milled, blends beautifully on the skin, and leaves skin with a sun-kissed glow.
Left to Right: Dim Light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light all shown lightly swatched above (for heavier swatches refer to my initial review here).

According to Hourglass,

Create your perfect light with this palette featuring three shades of Ambient Lighting Powder. Each of the high-tech, soft-focus finishing powders recreates an exquisitely flattering light source. The powders can be applied individually or layered to imbue skin with a multidimensional glow.

$58.00 for 0.116 oz from Hourglass, Nordstrom, Space NK, Sephora and Bergdorf Goodman.
9) Tom Ford Beauty Eyeshadow Quad in Nude Dip (Reviewed here): As you may remember, the star of the Tom Ford Beauty Fall 2014 Color Collection was the stunningly beautiful Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Nude Dip. Thankfully this twinkling gem, which was limited edition, is now part of the permanent core line. This is my all-time favorite Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad!
Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Nude Dip is a stunningly beautiful warm-leaning neutral palette.

While Nude Dip may not boast particularly unique colors make no mistake about it-- this is a palette of exquisite beauty and extraordinary quality. All four shadows are ultra finely milled, and they boast creamy and silky textures. In fact, they are so finely milled that they just melts into the skin. Used wet or dry, this is an arrestingly beautiful palette.

$80.00 for .21 oz. from NordstromNeiman MarcusBergdorf GoodmanBloomingdale'sSaks Fifth Avenue and Selfridges.
Look at how these beauties twinkle!
10) Burberry Beauty Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base (Reviewed here): This lightweight luminous base is moisturizing, it imparts a gorgeous subtle glow, and it feels wonderful on the skin. You can use it as a sheer glowing primer, you can add it to your foundation for a luminous dewy finish, or you can use it as a highlighter. On particularly good skin days I can wear it alone with sunscreen. It is such a gorgeous product not just because of the way that it makes your skin look, but also because of the way that it makes your skin feel. The wild rose not only lends itself to a light and pleasant scent (not at all overpowering or lingering), but it also hydrates the skin.

How to use: "Apply Fresh Glow all over clean face for immediate, natural radiance. To perfect your complexion and give skin an added glow, mix Fresh Glow with your shade of Burberry Sheer Fluid Foundation. To highlight and sculpt the face, apply Fresh Glow over your makeup to cheekbones, bridge of nose and chin."

$48.00 for 1 oz. from Burberry Beauty and Nordstrom.
Look at it glow!

Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick in Antique Pink No. 303 and Pink Amber No. 306 | Review and Swatches

Gifts with Purchase (Affiliate Links)

Matte lipsticks have regained a tremendous amount of traction lately, and have enjoyed tremendous popularity this season. There are heavyweight contenders, like Tom Ford Beauty, setting hearts aflutter with gorgeous and visionary interpretations of the matte lipstick, but don't forget that Burberry Beauty has a delightful range of mattes that are an absolute delight to wear.

Burberry's interpretation of the matte lipstick is exceedingly comfortable on the lips, has the perfect amount of cushion, and as the name suggests has a long-wearing formula. Unlike many mattes, Burberry's are not drying to the lips, and are in fact slightly moisturizing.

I have two of them in my collection, and these beauties glide across the lips effortlessly, deposit color evenly, and they do not settle into lip lines. Furthermore, they achieve full opaque coverage in a single pass, have gorgeously luscious pigmentation, and do not have a flat finish. If you are sensitive to fragrance, however, be advised that these lipsticks have the same rose scent for which Burberry is known. However, I detect no taste once applied to the lips.
According to Burberry Beauty,

Burberry innovation brings a new finish for lips: a velvety matte radiance, inspired by the most opulent of English fabrics. Iconic pigments provide incredibly dense and luminous color, gel technology gives comfortable long-wear performance, while triglycerides and wild rose continuously hydrate. The result is effortlessly elegant, protective and breathable.
Antique Pink No. 303 is a neutral pinky brown.
Pink Amber No. 306 is a mid-tone neutral pink with a touch of coral.
Ingredients: Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyethylene, Microcristallina Cera (Microcrystalline Wax), Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Trimethylolpropane Triisostearate, Polybutene, Ptfe, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Diisostearyl Malate, Cetyl Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Phenyl Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Dimethicone/Divinyldimethicone/Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Propylene Carbonate, Parfum (Fragrance), Phytosteryl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Propylparaben, Triisostearin, Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Glycerides, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Squalane, Benzyl Benzoate, Hydroxycitronellal, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter Extract, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phytosteryl Isostearate, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Dicalcium Phosphate; May Contain: Ci 77019 (Mica), Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides), Ci 75470 (Carmine), Ci 73360 (Red 30 Lake), Ci 45410 (Red 27 Lake, Red 28 Lake), Ci 42090 (Blue 1 Lake), Ci 19140 (Yellow 5 Lake), Ci 15985 (Yellow 6 Lake), Ci 15850 (Red 6, Red 7, Red 7 Lake).
Overall Assessment: A lovely formula, if you seek to add some matte lipsticks into your life!

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Storm Grey No. 27 | Comparison Swatches and Review

Purchased by Me (Affiliate Links)

As every Burberry Beauty enthusiast knows, Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow singles boast a creamy ultra-finely milled texture, apply like a dream, and are long-wearing. The velvety texture is legendary, and their eyeshadow quality is unquestionably superb. Their permanent collection features a well edited selection of neutrals punctuated by a few more vibrant shades, but they are all gorgeous.
Storm Grey No. 27 was among two new shades (Graphite is the other) that quietly appeared at counters and online earlier this year. I didn't purchase it during the initial release, but finally purchased it when I was at a counter not long ago.
Experience natural and earthy tones reminiscent of the English countryside and adaptable to all skin tones. Color selection captures the ease and versatility of the collection and ranges from classic trench coat-inspired shades to smoky metals.

Features:
  • Benefits: Ensures a smooth application and flawless color fidelity throughout the day. From the most natural look to the most sophisticated finish.
  • Protection: Silicones provide extreme emollience and comfort.
  • How to use: Enhance the contours of your eyes to give them a stronger definition. With the applicator, sweep the color gently across the eyelid to achieve depth. Apply to lower lashes if needed, taking it a little lower than you normally would across the eyes. For best results, apply effortlessly which will enhance natural contours of your face.
The innovative composition reconciles comfort with long-lasting wear. Light, yet creamy, this performing powder offers optimal adherence.
Storm Grey No. 27 is a medium cool-toned taupe grey with a satin finish. While it is soft–  it is a bit more stiff than my other Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow singles (such as Pale Barley, Midnight Brown and Rosewood), but it is still very high quality. It glides across the lids with ease and deposits buildable color without any fallout whatsoever.
The refined shimmer creates an ethereal glow– for which Burberry is well-known.
I thought that it would be instructive to compare it to two other available grey taupe shades, and didn't bother comparing it to Tom Ford's She-Wolf since that comparison has been made, and that limited edition trio is not longer available.
NARS Lhasa and 413 BLKR do well in illustrating where Storm Grey falls in the cool grey-taupe spectrum. Storm Grey is deceptively light in the pan, but in actuality is darker on the skin.
Left to Right: NARS Lhasa, Burberry Storm Grey and NARS 413 BLKR (NARS Exclusive).
Lhasa and 413 BLKR pull a touch purple– particularly when juxtaposed to Storm Grey.
Ingredients: Talc, Dimethicone, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Zinc Stearate, Silica, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Potassium Sorbate, Chlorphenesin, Tetrasodium Edta; May Contain: Ci 77019 (Mica), Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxyde), Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77007 (Ultramarines), Ci 77742 (Manganese Violet), Ci 77510 (Ferric Ferrocyanide, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide), Ci 75470 (Carmine), Ci 77288 (Chromium Oxide Greens), Ci 77289 (Chromium Hydroxide Green), Ci 19140 (Yellow 5 Lake), Ci 42090 (Blue 1 Lake).
Overall Assessment: Storm Grey is a nice cool-learning mid-tone taupe that has the subtle sheen and luminosity for which Burberry eyeshadows are known. That said, this shadow is a bit more stiff than the other Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow singles in my collection. The color itself isn't terribly unique, but it is quite beautiful. If you are seeking a color of this sort, then you might want to try this, but if you have other colors that are close then you may not need it.

$29.00 for .088 oz. Available from Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue (Affiliate Links).

Burberry Midnight Brown and Pale Barley Compared to Urban Decay Stray Dog and Suspect | Swatchfest and Commentary

Purchased by me (Affiliate Links)

It's a funny thing the way that the brain registers color and texture, and in the case of eyeshadows to the beauty-obsessed, the way one sees dupes or potential dupes everywhere. This was precisely the case when I was playing with Stray Dog and Suspect while loitering in front of the Urban Decay display at Sephora. I immediately thought about Burberry Midnight Brown and Pale Barley, but thought that the differences between the Urban Decay and Burberry variants would be enough to justify the purchase of the two UD twinkling beauties.

For full reviews of Urban Decay Stray Dog and Suspect click here. For full reviews of Burberry Midnight Brown and Pale Barley click here.
I varied the lighting effects while photographing the swatches in an effort to reveal some of the differences in the base shades, but I think that it is safe to say the Midnight Brown and Stray Dog as well as Pale Barley and Suspect belong to the same color families respectively.
When comparing Midnight Brown and Stray Dog, I think that it is safe to say that Midnight Brown has a deeper brown base, whereas Stray Dog is a more lively taupe shimmering shade.
Pale Barley and Suspect, on the other hand, seem a bit more closely related. Comparatively Suspect appears to have a slightly golden base, whereas Pale Barley appears to lean into the realm of a light taupe, but there is a definite closeness in hue.
As for the overall quality, one cannot go wrong with either Burberry or Urban Decay single eyeshadows. They both ultra finely milled and boast creamy textures. They glide across the skin effortlessly, are long-wearing, and an utter joy to use. Furthermore, they are both beautifully pigmented and offer gorgeous colors to choose from.
What do you think? Do you think that these colors are close enough to call dupes?

Burberry Single Shadows are $29.00 for .088 oz.
Urban Decay Single Shadows are $18.00 for 0.05 oz.
