Zuneta Launches Le Métier de Beauté Bauhaus Winter 2012 Colour Collection & Rouge Bunny Rouge Fragrant Confections!!

THE BAUHAUS WINTER 2012 COLOUR COLLECTION

As with all of LMDB’S color collections, Creative Director Mikey Castillo looked outside of the traditional beauty realm for inspiration. Bauhaus was a school in Germany that Combined crafts and the fine arts, and was famous for the approach to design that it publicized and taught. It was founded with the idea of creating a ‘total’ work of art. Available in December!

Drawing inspiration from the Bauhaus movement that influenced famed runways of Caroline Herrera and Cynthia Rowley alike, Le Métier de Beauté unveils a ravishing, new Kaleidoscope Eye Kit for the Holiday season.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Forever Yours...Long-Lasting Lip Pencil in Roald: Review & Swatches

And so the Rouge Bunny Rouge legend continues: "Once upon a time, a shrouded scroll with a magnificent navigation map, traced by whimsical lines, was found in the Enchanted Garden. Overwhelmed by its beauty, we captured the essence and softness of its everlasting magical colours in FOREVER YOURS... lip pencils. Their soft heart glides on as smoothly as a ship on the calmest of seas, to keep your lips supremely in view. You'll treasure the incomparable staying power, allowing you fearlessly explore your thirst for new things - knowing that you look impeccable. Drink and be merry, kiss and be cherished. It’s so wear-resistant it’s almost as unstoppable as you. Go ahead and write your own navigation chart, you’ll be safely on course to sail off with whatever treasures you desire…"
There is undoubtedly a magical quality about this creamy lip pencil- it is silky smooth, and yet it really stays put once applied.  The pigmentation and color saturation are superb, and the shades themselves are gorgeous. My first love from the RBR selection of lip pencils was in the color Vasco (reviewed here), but now I must confess that I love Roald just as much.
Roald is described as a Pure matte, pale mauve - that Rouge Bunny Rouge suggests is best suited for pale, bluish-toned complexions. It is definitely darker than Vasco, and thr color really is a perfect matte mauve/pink.
According to Rouge Bunny Rouge, "Advanced technology in this long-wearing pencil delivers a formula with an instant release of intense colour, smooth glide-on and a precise application. The synergic action of gellified systems, special polymers and waxes provides a most comfortable and semi-permanent colour. Once dry, the colour will last the whole day and is waterproof too!"

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Paraffin, Polybutene, C11-12 Isoparaffin, Simmondsia Chinensis Oil, Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Ceresin, Ozokerite, Cera Microcristallina, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Phenoxyethanol. (+/-): CI 15850, CI 45380, CI 77891, Mica, CI 77491, CI 45410, CI 77499, CI 77492, CI 19140, CI 75470, CI 15985, CI 16035, CI 42090, CI 73360, CI 77163, CI 77742, CI 77947

Overall assessment: A must-have in my book! I love the color, the texture and consistency, and how long it wears. It's gorgeous!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Feline Gaze Eye Khol in Salome & Delilah- Swatches and Review!

And the Legend continues:

Every night, the Enchanted Garden artists get to work with magic pencils so that the Garden can transform itself with different colours and moods. Metamorphose yourself just as easily into whomever you want to be today, with FELINE GAZE eye pencils.

A darkly elegant seductive feline? A mystical flower-of-the-hour doe-eyed beauty? A deliciously sinful sultry almond-eyed goddess? Be pure temptation itself, as you purringly write your own manifesto with this eye pencil that adorns you. So soft that it almost melts on application, but will stay put day or night, inviting closer inspection... dancing in the memory of those who met you long after you've left the room and inviting all manner of thoughts.
Rouge Bunny Rouge suggests that, "This formula embraces spherical polymers and waxes, giving maximum comfort with outstanding staying power. The colour release, with its beautiful creaminess and glide, is much higher compared to traditional pencils. Use for precision contouring along the lash line, soft blending by smudging with fingertips or brush, or for building smoky smouldering effects."

My love affair with Rouge Bunny Rouge is no secret, and indeed I could dedicate an entire blog to my unwavering devotion to this magical line. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that I'm a huge fan of their Feline Gaze Eye Khol formula (see my review of Vera here). My two more recent additions are Salome (perfect creamy matte jet black) and Delilah (Semi-matte aubergine, with a plum lustre). First, I must state that I was legally and contractually obligated to purchase Delilah since it is the name of my dog, and she has a keen eye for all things that "use" her name-- so she forces me to purchase all such things to see whether they are good enough to have earned the right to appropriate her name. RBR Feline Gaze Eye Khol in Delilah earned the right!
Salome is a very intense matte black shade, and once applied it stays put and really doesn't budge. This is the type of black eyeliner that Nefertiti would have happily worn, given the chance. It is creamy, elegant, intense, and simply stunning. It is a must have for those who love the intensity of a black eyeliner.

Delilah is a stunning aubergine that takes more work (a few more passes) in order to build up an intensity relative to that which occurs so easily with Salome. I find that Delilah is an intoxicatingly sexy shade that really makes my hazel eyes pop when worn in my lower lash line. I have had no issues of migration whatsoever, and I find this to be a delightful shade.

I have paired Salome and Delilah together with great success as well. I have applied Salome as a winged liner on the top lid and smudged Delilah into my lower lash line- and it's a gorgeous combination. I have also applied Delilah on my upper and lower lids and then thinly applied Salome on top of Delilah closer to the lash line (but not quite a tightline)- this is also a really lovely combination.

Small tricks courtesy of Rouge Bunny Rouge:

The soft formula of the Eye Khol is perfect for a smoky look: smudge the pencil line with your fingertip or with the RBR Sponge Applicator (# 015). Use a lighter version of the Eye Khol (´Lola´ or ´Delilah´) to get a softer day-version of smoky eyes.

For a perfect line, slightly stretch the eyelid by lifting the outside edge of the brow with your forefinger and place your middle finger or thumb on the outer edge of your cheekbone with a slight downwards pull.

Apply the ´Salome´ (black) or ´Lola´ (brown) khol to the inner upper eyelid to really enhance the lash line.
Salome ingredients: Triethylhexanoin, Мica, Ricinus Communis (Castor Oil), Cera Alba (Beeswax), Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Ozokerite, Dipentaerythrityl Tetrahydroxystearate/Tetraisostearate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Rosa Canina (Rosa Canina Fruit Oil), Lecithin, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Citric Acid. Overall assessment: Creamy yummy goodness!! Gorgeous colors, fabulous quality, and infinite possibilities. I do not see my love affair with Rouge Bunny Rouge ever leaving the honeymoon stage!

Le Métier de Beauté Dualistic Eye Pencil in Tamarack- Review & Swatches

According to Le Métier de Beauté, "The creamy, pigment-rich formula of our water-based gel pencil allows for a velvety soft application that glides on smooth and doesn’t drag or tug at the delicate eye area. It is so fluid and soft that it works great either as a liner to create a saturated fine line or as an eye shadow base, smudged to perfection—a truly versatile product to be used under or over eye shadow and designed for maximum blendability and long-lasting coverage. Considered an essential in any A-list makeup artist’s kit, it is key to creating some of the chicest eye looks, subtle or dramatic."
Of the four shades available, I have Tamarack- which is a gorgeous shimmery bronzy brown.
The water-based gel allows this beauty to glide on, and smudge out easily without any pulling or tugging of the delicate eye area.
The Dualistic Eye Pencil is of a softer texture, and it does seem to fade or wear away after a few hours of wear if I use it alone as a liner. However, if I set it with a shadow it lasts all day. As LMdB mentioned, it is quite often used as an eyeshadow base- much in the way one would use a MAC Paint Pot. This method of layering, which Le Métier de Beauté calls couches de couleur, is the way that you will most often find LMdB makeup artists applying the Dualistic Eye Pencils. They use these as a base, and then begin their deft process of layering their buttery soft shadows right on top of the Dualistic Eye Pencils.

However, this silky smooth "velvety soft" eye pencil is so gorgeous that I have been smudging it out and wearing it alone as an eyeshadow on my lids-- and it is just stunning!
Overall assessment: Simply stunning! Tamarack is one of the prettiest bronzy brown shades that I have seen, and the texture is so silky smooth! This is a lovely pencil for layering (as a shadow base) and using as a smudged out shadow. It is gorgeous as a stand alone liner, but you may experience a shortened wear-time if you opt to wear it alone.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Umber Firefinch Eye Shadow Review & Swatches

Such an act of violence against such a beautiful eyeshadow! No, it did not arrive in this condition. Instead the second time that I pulled it out of the package to gaze at it lovingly my finger slipped and I watched in horror as my fingernail embedded itself into the virgin pan! Quelle horreur! If you heard screaming at that very moment-- then you can be assured that it was me! Enough dwelling on that which cannot be changed- I suppose that I can be thankful that I didn't drop it on the floor and watch it become smashed to smithereens.
Moving on. Umber Firefinch is one of the lovely new eyeshadow colors that Rouge Bunny Rouge recently launched. Rouge Bunny Rouge describes it as an "iridescent dark umber chocolate," but I would add that it is a very cool tauped brown that is devoid of all warmth. Modesty Brown rightly suggests that the name "conjures a warm brown......but Umber Firefinch is a cool, ash toned brown." For me, this is perfect for my cool-toned skin, however for those with warmer skin you may find that this is too cool, and that the actual color seems to defy Rouge Bunny Rouge's description (or at the very least, one's perception of what the description means). As with all Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadows, Umber Firefinch is creamy and silky smooth with fantastic pigmentation, stellar color saturation, and absolutely no fall-out. In short, it is as extraordinary as all of the Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadows that we love!

I decided not to buy the RBR Keepers because I planned on popping Umber Firefinch into my MAC 15 pan palette. If you have the same thing in mind- be aware that you will have to add a magnet to the back of the eye shadow pan as you would if you had depotted a MAC eye shadow. My plan is to eventually have this handy palette filled with RBR shadows!

Ingredients: Talc, Mica, Dimethicone, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Nylon-12, Zinc Stearate, C26-28 Alkyl Dimethicone, Zeolite, Sorbic Acid, Methylparaben, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Zea Mays Starch, Propylparaben, Tetrasodium Edta, Butylparaben, Peg-6 Isostearate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Silica, Bht, Pca Dimethicone, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Octyldodecanol, Hesperetin Laurate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Butylene Glycol. (+/-): CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77007, CI 75470, CI 77742, CI 77510, CI 77288, CI 77289, CI 19140, CI 42090, CI 77266

Overall Assessment: Umber Firefinch is a gorgeous cool-toned brown that is sure not to disappoint, unless of course you are hoping for it to be a warm chocolate brown. Used sparingly it makes for a nice darkened taupey brown lid color, but it is also a lovely crease and liner color as well. I love it, and have no doubt that I will hit the pan on this beauty.
