I am forever on the lookout for gentle haircare products that are both kind to color-treated and to naturally curly hair. I swear-clear of stripping products, and instead favor moisturizing formulas. I have tried a few HASK hair masks before, and really liked them a lot– therefore I was very happy to try the HASK Kalahari Melon Collection for color treated hair.

Kalahari Melon Oil Color Protection Deep Conditioner ($5.99 for 6 oz. from Ulta, Target, Walgreens and Drugstore.com): I really love using deep conditioning hair masks, and find them to be an essential part of caring for color-treated hair. Kalahari Melon Oil Color Protection Deep Conditioner is an ultra-nourishing deep conditioner that leaves hair soft, shiny, manageable, deeply conditioned, and it extends the life of hair color.

HASK Kalahari Melon Oil Nourishing Deep Conditioner, is an ultra-restorative, hydrating treatment that will preserve and nurture color treated hair. Kalahari melon oil, found in the African desert, is known as a color-locking, damage-blocking ingredient. Counteracts dry-out and fading, leaving hair soft and nourished while helping to maintain long-lasting vibrant color.

Directions: Apply a generous amount of Kalahari Melon Oil Color Protection Deep Conditioner to clean, wet hair. Massage into hair focusing on damaged areas. Let penetrate for 10 minutes. Rinse well. Style as usual.

Kalahari Melon Oil Color Protection Shine Treatment ($2.99 for 0.62 oz. from Ulta, Target, Walgreens and Drugstore.com): This hair treatment can be used on wet or dry hair, but I tend to prefer applying it to damp hair and work it through from roots to tips and then comb it though for equal distribution. This leaves hair shiny and manageable, and it tames fly-aways and frizz. It is very concentrated, so a tiny amount goes a long way.

Overall Assessment: I am so pleased with the HASK Kalahari Melon Oil Collection, and highly recommend it to anyone with color-treated hair who is looking for an affordable, and highly effective color-extending line to pamper their tresses!

There is no question that I did a far less impressive job finishing up products in September, but I did go on vacation, and therefore didn't use up a more normal amount of products given that I wasn't home for a good portion of the month. That said, I did finish up a few things– so I thought that I would share my thoughts.

1) J.R. Watkins Hand Soap in Aloe & Green Tea (reviewed here): J.R. Watkins makes my all-time favorite hand soaps. I always have several of them in use at a time, and I buy them in multiples. They clean the skin without ever stripping it, and leave hands soft and supple. I just can't say enough good things about this product specifically, and their products in general.  A+

2) Pure Natural Diva Whisper Body & Room Spray in Natural (reviewed here): I really loved their aptly named Whisper Body & Room Spray– it leaves the softest veil of fragrance that can be used from head to toe, or in your home. This is perfect for people who cannot tolerate cloying scents, but still like a hint of fragrance. I want to try their other scents.

3) Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack: I need to buy more of this miraculous deep conditioner because it left my naturally curly hair deeply moisturized, tamed the frizz, and left it shiny and baby soft! The coconut smell is absolutely delicious!

4) Hask Argan Oil from Morocco Intense Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment (featured here): While this packet is intended for a single use, I was able to get two full treatments out of this single packet. My hair was left soft, supple and it really tamed my frizz. I would definitely purchase this.

5) Exuviance Performance Peel AP 25 (featured here): This is a very easy to use, and highly effective, 2-Step system that consists of an Activator Pad to exfoliate dead skin cells, and a Neutralizer Pad to prevent further exfoliation. The result is baby soft glowing skin that is even in tone, and more youthful in appearance. I'm obsessed with facial peels, and Exuviance Performance Peel AP 25 offers the efficacy of a professional in-office peel in the convenience of your home!

4) Jerome Alexander Hot Stuff Go Pop Compact (Full Size $10.99): This is such a gorgeous palette, and the compact itself is just the cutest thing ever. It features three eyeshadows and three lip glosses that are as cute asa cute can be. The glosses are non-sticky, sheer and comfortable on the lips. The shadows are smooth as silk and are nicely pigmented. #jeromealexander

5) Purlisse Pur Moist Hydra-Balance Moisturizer (Sample Size 0.5 oz. Retail $55.00 for 1.7 oz.): This is a lovely hydrating anti-aging moisturizer that is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin types. #purlisse

Overall Assessment: The August BB5 Box is really wonderful, and the palette and eyeliner alone were worth the cost of admission!
