I was looking for a soap dish that was big enough to accommodate my large bars of Trader Joe's French Milled Soaps, and I was delighted when I discovered the Crate & Barrel Chet White Ceramic Soap Dish on clearance sale (from $9.95 to $7.99). They are available in black or white, and quantities are limited, therefore I bought three of them. I am using one in my kitchen for a sponge and the other two in bathrooms, and they are just perfect.

Your local store may have them in stock, but if you don't live close to a Crate & Barrel you can still order them online. This was an A+ purchase for me!

Crate & Barrel Silicone Spoonula Review

When all of my silicone spatulas and spoonulas started falling apart, after many years of continued use, I knew that it was time to replace them. My go-to store when I am seeking great sales on kitchen products has been Crate & Barrel for many years. I find so many great sale and clearance deals from them that they have become my most reliable source for my kitchen. The Crate & Barrel Silicone Spoonula, which I had been eyeing for a while, suddenly was on clearance, and that is when I jumped and bought 4 of them. Normally $12.95 each, the white spoonulas are currentlynon clearance sale for a mere $3.97 each, and I highly recommend getting them if you need to purchase a spatula or spoonula in the near future. However, their grey and black spoonulas are not on sale. 

These spoonulas are very sturdy and stain and scratch-resistant, and Crate & Barrel states that they are suitable for all types of cookware, including non-stick. They are constructed with a sturdy nylon core that is covered in silicone, and they are BPA and BPS-free. The Crate & Barrel Silicone Spoonula is dishwasher safe– to which I can attest– and they can withstand high heat cooking.

I have to confess that I regularly shop the Crate & Barrel sales, and I find so many things for my house at huge savings. I check their kitchen sale section more often than I would like to admit, but I have found more incredible deals with them. I usually order online, and we pick the items up at one of their local stores, but sometimes I just order online. One of my recent discoveries was the Crate & Barrel White Marble Rolling Pin, and at $19.97 (regularly $49.95) I just had to get it– particularly since I no longer have a rolling pin (I have no idea what happened to mine!). It is heavy, hand-turned white marble, and it is perfect for my baking and cooking needs.

When I saw that Crate & Barrel was having a sale on their exclusive bakeware from Emile Henry, I was thrilled. I have slowly been collecting Emile Henry for years, and the quality of their bakeware, made from Burgundian clay, is nothing less than superb. Made in France, these heirloom quality pieces can be handed down from generation to generation. The pieces that I purchased can be purchased separately or as a set. I opted to purchase the Emile Henry x Crate & Barrel 4-Piece Bakeware Set in Black ($194.96. Regularly $240.00) though there is no additional savings, because I wanted it shipped in one box, rather than four. Below are the individual pieces in the set. These beautiful pieces are available in black, white and green, but the only pieces on sale are black. I have ceramic, metal and pyrex loaf pans, and I prefer baking with ceramic. What I lacked was a ceramic loaf pan that boasts the quality of Emile Henry, and therefore this was the logical choice. I am actually contemplating buying one more since I like to bake multiples.

Each of the dishes from this collection have graciously curved lines and very practical handles for ease of use and comfort.

Stainless Steel Microplane Zester by Molly Baz ($9.97 regularly $17.95): Microplane makes very high quality testers, and this is the second one that I have owned. However, our original zester went missing, and we have repeatedly searched high and low for it, and have absolutely no idea where it went. Therefore, when I found this zester on clearance I immediately added it to my cart. If you are in the market for a zester, this one is excellent, but be advised that it is on clearance and cannot be returned or exchanged. I am considering purchasing a second one since the price is so affordable. I use mine to zest citrus and hard cheeses, but as noted below one can also use it to grate chocolate, garlic and nutmeg. This is very sharp, therefore you should use it carefully to avoid grating fingers!

Stainless Steel Fish Spatula by Molly Baz ($4.97 regularly $14.95): What a find this is, and at such a dramatic savings. This very thin spatula makes it so easy to turn and plate delicate fish filets. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a versatile spatula that can effectively and carefully move, adjust, lift or turn delicate dishes. Like the Microplane, this is on clearance and can't be returned or exchanged, therefore make sure that you really want it before making the purchase.

While Crate & Barrel isn't offering a deep discount, their sale made this a better deal than everywhere else I looked.

I keep things like almonds, walnuts, pine nuts and loose teas in this size. It is airtight and keeps everything fresh for longer than their original packaging.

Fido 2-Liter Jar with Clamp Lid ($11.99 regularly $13.95): This jar measures 4.75"Wx4.75"Dx8.5"H and it is perfect for my ground or whole bean coffee, specialty flours, oatmeal and so many other things in my pantry.

Fido 5-Liter Jar with Clamp Lid ($14.99 regularly &17.95): This jar measures 6.75" dia. x 11"H, and it is so large that it easily stores a whole bag of flour. I purchased two of them so that I could store flour in one and sugar in the other. Between feeding the hummingbirds and baking, I needed a large jar for sugar.

Overall Assessment: I am so happy with my purchases, and highly recommend checking out Crate & Barrel's current sales since there are some excellent deals just in time for holiday cooking and gift-giving!

TIP: If you are seeking great storage solutions, be sure to expand your search beyond the most obvious choices. For instance, this 2-tier server was intended for kitchen use, but it provided a perfect storage solution to maximize the vertical space above the toilet. Re-purposing products intended for other uses is among the most resourceful ways to exponentially increase your chances of finding the perfect storage solutions.

S'well Water Bottles ($25.00-$45.00 each from S'well, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Birchbox, Athleta Gap and The Container Store): S'well Water Bottles are ingeniously made from BPA-free, double-walled stainless steel that is so well insulated that it keeps liquids cold for 24 hours, and hot for 12 hours. They are so well insulated that no matter how cold the liquid inside, there is absolutely no condensation outside. I purchased the 17 oz. and 25 oz. sizes, and I use the larger one so that I wouldn't have to refill my bottle as frequently, but prefer the 17 oz. size when I want something smaller, and I have access to quick and easy refills. However, I definitely think that the 9 oz. is a little too small for the purposes of staying hydrated throughout the day. They are also perfect to have on hand when you are out and about during the holidays, and I don't leave home without at least one of them on hand!
