CHI LAVA 1 1/2" Styler is the perfect flat iron for people who travel, but it's also an excellent choice if you have limited storage space, or just prefer compact devices. While the overall size of the flat iron is smaller than standard size, the 1 1/2" plates are the perfect size for regular use. It heats up quickly, requires minimal time to straighten the hair – plus the added bonus is that it leaves hair silky and shiny.

Overall Assessment: I don't flat iron my hair that often, but this is the flat iron that I reach for when I do. I really like its compact size as well as the full size floating plates. Nicely done, CHI!

If you periodically need to deeply cleanse and condition your scalp and hair, then the CHI Tea Tree Oil Collection is worth your consideration. Overall Assessment: This system does a thorough job cleaning and exfoliating the hair and scalp, and then nourishing and moisturizing it. My hair looks and feels really good when I use this system, and it effectively eliminates all product buildup without stripping my hair. It is a very well thought out system, and I'm quite impressed by its efficacy.

I say this because I generally just let my hair air dry, but this dryer is very effective for drying my naturally curly hair without making it frizz out or lose its shape. I prefer a low heat setting and the use of the diffuser, and the diffuser on this particular dryer is quite efficient.
