I do not use a lot of CBD skincare products, but I was drawn to the Annmarie  Skin Care Activated CBD Serum Facial Complex because they asserted that this serum gently alleviates, "that patch of temporary discomfort on your skin" and that it "rejuvenates your skin to a youthful glow." When my skin is irritated by the cold weather, or by skincare products that cause my skin to react, a little patch of dry and peeling skin will appear on my chin. I recently experienced this dry and flaky patch of skin from skincare products that I tried, that didn't agree with my skin, and I started using this serum to see if it would heal my inflammation and peeling. Thankfully, it worked, just as its claims suggested. It is a lightweight, and fast absorbing oil, that melts into the skin quickly, and leaves it soft, hydrated, smooth and luminous. This antioxidant-rich serum has the consistency of a high quality face oil, and a pleasant clean and herbal aroma. While it has trace amounts of THC, it is non-intoxicating– just as Annmarie Skin Care suggests. My dry patches were calmed and healed within a week of use, and I am quite happy with the results.

Derma E Skin D-Stress CBD Cheek & Eye Cream Corrector is a really nice color corrector cream that transforms from a green shade to what Derma E describes as a universal skin tint, but I find that it imparts no color at all once it sinks into the skin. I have only used it under my eyes, and I find that it reduces puffiness when I don't get enough sleep, it also calms irritated and red skin and helps to diminish the appearance of dark circles. Furthermore, it is a moisturizing, nourishing and antioxidant-rich formula that is effective and very affordable.

Hemp & CBD Skincare Products Worth Trying in 2021

If you are seeking to add a few Hemp or CBD based skincare products into your skincare routine, I have sampled a few products that I really like a lot and wanted to share with you. 

Do not apply to broken skin or open wounds. Stop use if condition worsens or skin irritation occurs. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any health conditions, consult with your physician before using these products. 

I like to use these wonderful products before bedtime, but they do not cause me to feel altered in any way.

Tribeauty Cucumber Eye Gel ($15.00 for 5 ml. from Tribeauty): This is a lovely lightweight eye gel that refreshes the skin, plumps fine lines, and reduced puffiness. It contains no fragrance and didn't irritate my sensitive eyes, but you do want to avoid getting it into your eyes.

Tribeauty CBD Rose + Goji Facial Pore Refining Toner ($45.00 for 100ml. from Tribeauty): This lovely rose-scented toner reduces redness and inflammation, hydrates and plumps the skin and leaves it delightfully luminous.

Derma E is one of my very favorite affordable cruelty-free brands, and their CBD-Infused Balm is one of my most recent discoveries.

As you have noticed, this week Lola's Secret Beauty Blog has been focussed on top pick face masks. This idea came to me because I noticed that I was pampering myself with regular facial masks in part because I am working from home, and have the time to do it, but also because slowing down to take care of myself has a calming effect during the stress of living in the time of a global pandemic, and all of the worry that such a crisis engenders. Therefore, I thought it was apt timing to feature the new TRIBEAUTY CBD Superfood Mask.

TRIBEAUTY CBD Superfood Mask, which is a white clay-based CBD mask that contains superfood ingredients such as spinach and kale extracts, is formulated to exfoliate, hydrate, brighten, plump, brighten, calm, oxygenate and protect the skin. This multipurpose, and ultra-effective mask contains zero or less than 0.3% THC*, and therefore there are no psychoactive effects. The company notes that there may be a mild tingling effect from this mask, but my skin didn't tingle, but instead I experienced a refreshing cooling effect. I apply this mask with the silicone spatula shown, and then leave it on for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. Once I pat my skin dry my skin is luminous, hydrated, rejuvenated, fresh, calm and my fine lines are lightly plumped. I should note that the mask has a light and fresh fruity floral aroma, but it is neither imposing, nor long-lasting.

Directions: Apply generously to entire face and let sit for 10-15 minutes; rinse.

Elina Organics, which was created by celebrity esthetician Elina Fedotova, makes amazing skincare products (Reviewed HERE & HERE), and their Elina Organics CBD Wrinkle Filling Serum is my latest discovery from this wonderful brand.

Elina Organics CBD Wrinkle Filling Serum is an eco-friendly CBD wrinkle-filling serum  that effectively plumps fine lines and wrinkles and firms the appearance of the skin– leaving it smooth. Remarkably it does so without any uncomfortable tingling or discomfort whatsoever. There is a slight tightening effect, but it is barely discernible. This serum is lightweight, and fast absorbing, and it is 100% transdermal, organic, filled with safe ingredients, fresh, handmade and it is cruelty-free. It is filled with a wonderful range of nourishing ingredients such as sunflower seed oil, Vitamins  C & E, Black Current, Coconut, Birch and Bitter Apple, and it lightly hydrates the skin and gives it a light dewy glow. It does have a light herbal aroma, but it is neither overpowering nor cloying.

I do not have any pronounced wrinkles, only a few expression lines, but I definitely see them softening through continued use of this serum.

N.B.: This serum is very concentrated– therefore only a tiny bit is needed. It can be used as a spot treatment or all over.

Mirai Clinical CBD Bath Bomb in Lavender

CBD, which is definitely having its moment right now, can be used to soothe sore muscles– which is precisely why I recently reached for Mirai Clinical's CBD Bath Bomb. This delectably aromatic lavender scented bath bomb was precisely what I needed after a long weekend of pruning and weeding our backyard. It had become quite overgrown, so we really gave it an overhaul, and by the end of the weekend we were both tired, sore and immensely gratified!

This bath bomb contains Cannabidiol that has been extracted from the Hemp plant, which is known to reduce inflammation, pain and stress, and it will not get you in the least bit high. I popped it into my bathtub and soaked for about 20 minutes and it was not only very relaxing, but it also relieved my aching muscles and left my skin very soft and hydrated. I was so relaxed, in fact, that I went to bed and fell asleep quickly and woke up revitalized and well-rested the next morning. Now clearly the bath bomb isn't solely responsible for my good night of sleep– because I was physically exhausted after working so hard all weekend– but it certainly helped relax me, and it definitely relieved my sore and overworked muscles.
