I am quite impressed by the quality and efficacy of Advanced Mineral Makeup, and after having reviewed one of their lip glosses, lip liners and blushes (reviewed HERE), I was very excited to try their foundation and concealer.

Annie Mayo, a Film and TV makeup artist, who created Advanced Mineral Makeup in 2009, sought to create healthy high definition makeup that would flawlessly create "close up" camera ready coverage. Her products are cruelty-free, many are vegan and free of harmful chemicals and toxins.

Advanced Mineral Makeup Liquid Mineral Foundation ($45.00 for 1 oz. from Advanced Mineral Makeup and Amazon): Available in 7 shades, I selected Crème Brûlée since it seemed to be the closest match to my skin tone. While it is decidedly warmer than my skin in the swatch below, I note that it is a good match once blended into the skin. The formula is lightweight, it offers buildable coverage while looking natural, and it neither settles into pores, nor does it settle into fine lines. It has a creamy consistency, a natural finish that is neither matte, nor too dewy, and it boasts serious longevity. Furthermore, there is no detectable fragrance and the color stays true all day without oxidizing.

  1. This sounds like a lovely brand. I love that it has titanium dioxide built in. The concealer is the right tone for me since it leans pink. I've gotta look at the swatches to see if there's a foundation shade that leans pink rather than yellow too.

    1. I really like the products that I have tried a lot. I love that they contain Titanium Dioxide as well, Allison. Yes, I think that there is enough pink in the concealer to be a good match for your skin tone. That's why it works so well for me.

  2. These two sound wonderful except for their limited shade range. My skin is so fair that I doubt I'd get a match. I'll keep this in mind though since I'm always asked about foundation that is good for problem skin.

    1. I hope that they do expand their range of colors because the formula is really good. While this shade is a bit yellow, it actually melts into my skin and doesn't end up looking yellow on me. I do have a tendency to wear light coverage though.
