Tom Ford Spring Color Collection 2014: Get it Before It's Gone!

As you know,  the Tom Ford Spring Color Collection was the single collection that I was the most excited about. Despite the fact that Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills is quite close to me I haven't had time to go and swatch, and since the it is a limited edition collection I decided to order what I wanted online. I ordered In the Buff and Pink Dune, but I think that I am also going to grab Summer Fling before it sells out. For helpful swatches, I consulted Wondegondigo and Makeup Magpie.

The Tom Ford Spring 2014 Color collection celebrates the return of warm weather with a wardrobe of hues ranging from shimmering neutrals to alluring brights. His lip color sheer brings a decadent mix of vitamins C and E, plus shea butter, to your lips to hydrate and moisturize while delivering you the perfect pop of color. The distinct lip color is packaged in a retro-chic case.

  1. Going, going, gone! That's what will soon be said about this beautifully articulated spring collection. I'm glad I purchased my selections when they first became available. I bought Paradisio and Summer Fling. I know Pink Dune is supposedly the most popular (and is selling out fast), but it looked a bit washed out on me. Unfortunately at my age, I need a bit more color otherwise I look like I'm ready for the morgue :-P Summer Fling; however, offers enough warmth and color to keep me amongst the living :-) On my lips, it registers as a gorgeous golden pink-coral shade that is very reminiscent of TF's color story from last summer. It does have micro-glitter which is a problem for some people, but overall I find it extremely easy and comfortable to wear. It is a swipe and go type of color that makes the lips look fuller, smoother while conditioning them into softness. As for Paradisio, it is perfectly named. It provides a vibrant pop of luscious color that reminds me of tropical flowers. Although it doesn't have the gold micro-glitter like Summer Fling, it still manages to make the lips appear smoother and fuller thanks to the conditioners that it contains. Both of the shades I selected are semi-opaque and wear like a lipstick as opposed to a tinted balm or "shine" type of formula. They are even sturdy enough to support a bit of gloss if a shinier appearance is the order of the day. All in all, I quite like the new formula and think it is a great transition piece as we move away from winter opaques and towards summer sheers.

Now, for my one complaint. I really dislike the shape of the bullet. The two sharp corners make application uncomfortable. And, yes, I do know the rational behind that particular shape, but when I want precision, I'll use a brush or line my lips with pencil first. Fortunately, the sharp edged corners can be easily softened.

    1. Happy New Year, Eileen! Your choices are excellent! I bought Summer Fling, but am not sure that Paradiso will look good with my coloring. Summer Fling sounds a bit like LMdB Palm Springs-- so I plan to swatch them together-- since both are lighter pinks with a veil of golden shimmer. I'm actually surprised that Pink Dune looked a bit washed out on you! I'm so glad to hear that they are so comfortable to wear and are semi-opaque. It's amazing that the formula even lends itself to the support of a lip gloss! I cannot wait for my package to arrive!

I can see why you would complain about the shape of the bullet-- the sharp corners seem less than ideal, but I imagine that it won't take too much time to wear down the sharp edges.
