Radical Skincare Anti-Aging Replenishing Extreme Moisture Review

At the expense of sounding a bit like a broken record, I must once again profess my undying love and commitment to Radical Skincare. As I have previously stated, the story of the Edlich sisters and their approach to creating the best skincare products filled with the highest quality ingredients for themselves, and without the intention of bringing the line to market is nothing short of inspirational.

Rachel developed Rosacea after having her second child and had red bumps all over her face and was completely inflamed. She was on the 3 types of medication that the doctors said she would be on for life. Liz had turned 46 and realized that gravity was real, noticing wrinkles, loss of elasticity and felt like her skin wasn’t snapping back to the way it use to. They both decided that this was the perfect storm and called upon their chemists and scientists and challenged them to create the most powerful anti-aging solution for Liz that could be used on Rachel's sensitive skin. With no regard to costs and with no intention of selling this youth elixir to the larger public, they identified the prime defect in most anti-aging formulas they corrected it, perfected it and then clinically tested it. The results spoke for themselves. A USDA lab compared their formulas to numerous leading skincare brands and the potency results were unbeatable.

Please take a moment to read their radical story can be read here and here.

What Liz & Rachel created in their lab sample bottles which they labeled with a magic marker and used for themselves and their friends radically changed their skin. Liz was stopped on the street asking what she used on her skin, Rachel's Rosacea cleared and friends called having similar experiences and wanting more.

Radical Skincare utilizes Trylacel Technology because it, "enables the maximum concentration of actives for maximum delivery to the skin, and for all skin types." Likewise, "it keeps the antioxidant potency and performance in the cream to deliver maximum benefits and results quickly."

Antioxidants are the best defense against free radical damage and aging. The strongest antioxidants are found in nature’s dark night shade fruits like resveratrol, coffee berry, acai, grapeseed, red wine extract, pomegranate, and cranberry to name a few. Multiple antioxidants are required to fight the numerous types of free radicals. Using one or two antioxidants is simply not enough.

When antioxidants are combined with reparative ingredients in a cream they break down and lose their power, rendering them ineffective to protect your skin from this free radical assault and therefore daily deterioration continues aging your skin. Until now

Trylacel, a radical breakthrough in suspension technology, keeps the antioxidant potency and performance in the cream to deliver maximum benefits and results quickly. By combining and encapsulating maximum levels of powerful antioxidants, clinically proven reparative and soothing agents in a bi-lipid membrane.
This unsurpassed and multitasking cream is the all in one benefits solution for the most demanding skins, in most extreme needs. Infused with cutting edge agents proven to increase hydration by forming a second skin barrier, controlling trans epidermal water loss, fight free radicals, decrease wrinkle depth by 50% after 4 weeks.

Benefits:
  • Unifies and brightens skin
  • Restore the water reserves
  • Decrease wrinkle depth by 50% in just 4 weeks
  • Provide the skin with elasticity and comfort.
Suggested use: Apply day and night on cleansed skin after Peptide Infused Antioxidant Serum. For radical anti-aging efficacy, follow up with Radical Skincare's Eye Revive Crème and Firming Neck and Décolleté Gel.

My experience: As improbable as it may seem, my skin felt indescribably fantastic after just a single use of Radical Anti-Aging Replenishing Extreme Moisture. This deeply nourishing cream made my skin feel profound and immediate hydration, and it had an obvious brightening effect. My skin was left soft, supple, smooth, and very moisturized. After more than a month of use I noticed a softening of my fine lines, and while my skin is not slack it appeared to have improved elasticity. It is neither too thick, nor too thin, and it boasts the perfect amount of richness. It sinks in quickly and leaves behind no greasy film or residue, and it delivers the perfect amount of hydration wherever it is needed. Initially I thought that this cream might have been too rich for my decidedly combination skin, however using it soon allayed my fears. This cream is very gentle so even those for whom sensitive skin is an issue will benefit from this amazing product. I have many many facial creams, but this is by far the one that I reach for the very most. It is very concentrated-- so a jar will last a long time.
Ingredients: Aqua (water), Simmondsia, chinensis (jojoba), seed oil, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, glycerin, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, butylene glycol, vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, polyglyceryl-10 pentastearate, ceteareth-20, xylitylglucoside, behenyl alcohol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, dimethicone, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acroyldimethyl taurate copolymer, anhydroxylitol, squalane, xylitol, coffee arabica (coffee) seed extract, euterpe oleracea fruit extract, euterpe oleracea fruit oil, bellis perennis (daisy) flower extract, hydrolyzed oat protein, panthenol, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, tocopheryl acetate, niacinamide, disodium adenosine triphosphate, malachite extract, palmitoyl tripeptide-5 camellia sinensis leaf extract, lecithin, vitis vinifera (grape) vine extract, allantoin, coffea robusta seed extract, propylene glycol, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, hexylresorcinol, sodium stearoyl lactilate, pentylene glycol, polysorbate 60, sodium hydroxide, ethylhexylglycerin, disodium edta, sorbitan isostearate, xanthan gum, bht, phenoxyethanol, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, citrus reticulata (tangerine) peel oil, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) oil, limonene, linalool. No Parabens.

Key Ingredients:

Sodium Hyaluronate: Is the key water maintaining substances in human skin. Bad living environment and aging can cause the decrease of HA content in skin, and as a result the water maintaining ability of the skin is weakened and the skin looks dry and rough. Sodium Hyaluronate has high moisturizing and water content reguating function and its solution has high viscoelasticity and lubricity. When HA solution is applied on the surface of skin, it can form an air permeable layer and keep the skin moist and smooth. As a result, it plays a role of wrinkle removing, look improving and health protecting. Hylasome- Delivery system for water and a free radical scavenger. It is highly moisturizing, slow delivery of water, safe and more effective than HA (hyaluronic acid). Has 5 times the water binding capacity of hyaluronic acid.

Tripeptides: Tripeptide has become an increasingly important ingredient in recent years and proving to be the ingredient of choice for anti-aging products. A Tripeptide belongs to the peptide family of amino acids and is basically a specialized molecule and a synthetic peptide containing three amino acid residues joined by peptide bonds. Tripeptides help improve skin condition as well as giving it a smoother appearance and specifically target skin cell renewal through the regeneration of collagen.

Synovea: Some unique characteristics are that it is effective in skin lightening and even toner for normal skin, and effective skin lightening for hyper-pigmented skin. This ingredient is reported to have a protective effect against oxidative DNA damage in human lymphocytes induced by hydrogen peroxide. It is also reported to have an inhibitory effect against the formation of Maillard reaction product. Synovea HR is a safe and effective skin lightener, it can also be used alone or in combination with other cosmetic active ingredients utilizing it’s skin lightening, antibacterial and skin protection properties.

Vitamin E: This active ingredient preserves the skin against aggressivity of free radicals created by oxydation coming from exposure to pollution, excess of sun and age.
Rachel Edlich
You would never know that this flawless skin beauty had battled Rosacea. We spoke at great length, and not only is she a delightful and highly intelligent woman, but she is proof positive that Radical Skincare products really work. I had to apologize as I studied her beautiful skin, and finally had to tell her that not only did she have utterly beautiful skin, but that it was so hard to believe that she ever had suffered with Rosacea.

If you have sensitive skin, or Rosacea this cream will delight you with its efficacy, delicacy and potency. However, this cream is so phenomenal that it will do wonders for all skin types. Additionally, anyone looking for a potent antioxidant rich anti-aging cream will not only be thoroughly impressed by Anti-Aging Replenishing Extreme Moisture, but will likewise be stunned by the efficacy of the entire expertly conceived, executed and edited skincare line. For me, if ever there was a cream to covet, this is it! Using this high quality luxury skincare line is so rewarding because the results are visible, tangible and real. There are no false claims made, no snake oil sleights of hand, but instead the highest quality products created by two sisters with a visionary approach to the creation of skincare.
Overall assessment: I'm in love, what can I say?! This is my most beloved and most reached for facial cream, and my natural inclination to use it more often than any other cream that I own is proof positive that Radical Skincare is a truly amazing line.

  2. You have convinced me my darling! I need this in my life. I actually, for my age, don't really have wrinkles, except on my forehead. I bear the mark of being my father's daughter with a visible double wrinkle right above my eyebrows. It could have been worse, my father has three furrows ready for some rice plantation; they are huuuuuge. But if that woman in that picture had rosacea and now she doesn't, I believe my red fat cheeks can finally be less, well, what's the word, childish? unbearable? impossible?
The skin of my face looks a lot darker than the rest of my body, which is rather fair, just because of the massive redness. I dream of some degree of uniformity between my body and my face. It will make buying foundation less troublesome. I usually mix 2 different foundations with Le Blanc de Chanel (which I absolutely adore, above any other primer and highlighter) to reach some unifying color but my red cheeks are always red, no matter what I do. I am torn though, Helen, help me out here if you can offer your advice. I wanted to try the Organic Pharmacy Rose Plus Face Cream but after your review, I am not sure what is best for me :/
Have a wonderful Wednesday. hugs to you and your feral ones,

    1. Ahhhh great genes!! A genetic double wrinkle above the eyebrows seems more like character/expression lines than "wrinkles."

Rachel had a very bad case of Rosacea, and looking at her skin now you would never know it! I also have the Organic Pharmacy Rose Plus Anti-Aging Face Cream (I haven't had the chance to review it yet), and I think that you might prefer the Radical Cream. Of course you could get samples of both to see if you prefer one over the other. That said, the Radical cream is SO GENTLE and did wonders for Rachel's Rosacea!

    1. Hi Chia-Yi, I suspect that you will find this one hydrating enough. It can also be boosted by layering it over your favorite serum. I generally layer it over one of my favorite face oils, but sometimes I just use this cream by itself. Let me know what you think of it if you give it a try! :D

  4. Hello, as always thank you for such beautiful full detailand honest opinion about products you review. I am an addict to your blog and trust everything you recommend. Do you think the radical anti aging restorative moisturizer will give enough hydration for my combination skin? I think you reviewef the one for the dry skin. Also, I need to buy a face oil and i am new to oils, I am confused between sponge ladi avokanto oil face our one of the new Sunday Riley new ones. . What do you recommend? Thank you

    1. Hi yaraa! Thank you so much for your lovely kind words! I am so glad that you enjoy my blog, and find my reviews useful. I have used several deluxe samples of the Radical Anti-Aging Restorative Moisturizer and this one, and that both work very very well for my combination skin. Both offer more than enough hydration for my skin. I do not find this one to be too rich for my skin, and I do have a very active t-zone. If at all possible, you might try to get samples of both to see which one works better for you. I don't think that you could go wrong with either. I still have one deluxe sample of the anti-aging restorative that I do use periodically, but right now I find that I reach for the Replenishing Extreme more than anything else in my skincare arsenal! I definitely prefer Ladi Avokanto to the SR oils-- it sinks in so much faster and nourishes the skin so quickly leaving behind a glorious glow. However, the oils that I have been reaching for the most lately are the African Botanics Neroli Infused Marula oil and their Marula Oil (I have not reviewed the latter yet, but have reviewed the former)

      http://www.lolassecretbeautyblog.com/2013/10/african-botanics-neroli-infused-marula.html

This is a magical oil that is so effective and hydrating and nourishing the skin. Everything that I have tried from African Botanics has simply amazed me. I am testing out their new eye cream and Mineral Cleansing Mask right now, and am so in love with them. Each time I open one of their products to use them I feel happy and uplifted. If you are near a SpaceNK it should be pretty easy to get samples of the African Botanics oils and Radical Skincare creams. However, I do still use Ladi Avokanto and definitely still love it! I hope that this helps, rather than further complicated your choices!

  5. Thank you for such prompt response, unfortunately i do not have a space NK next to me, I live in GA.. but excuse my so many questions. .I am currently using good genes from Sunday Riley. . Do you think i can use the oil you mentioned instead of that or just layer or on top. . Also, what serum do you recommend? I am in my late thirties but i love to explore and try new skincare within a reasonable budget.. thank you!

    1. Absolutely my pleasure! Feel free to call the SpaceNK that I work with in Sherman Oaks and tell them that I sent you (818) 325-2483. Anytime that you place orders with them they can ship to you, and just request samples-- they are very generous and super helpful. You can always ask for the manager Sheri, but all of her staff is extraordinary! Ask as many questions as you like-- I am happy to help you in any way that I can! I don't use Good Genes that much these days, but when I do I always use it under the oil that I am using, and I have used it with Ladi and the Marula Oils. I always just experiment to see what works best for me. The serums that I am using these days are the Radical Skincare Peptide Serum (I will be reviewing it soon, but I really love it), but I also have some samples of their Youth Infusion Serum that I really want to get in the full size. One of the lovely people from Radical gave me a facial and used this serum and I was delighted by the radiance and hydration that I experienced. They are also coming out with a few new products that are going to be mind-blowing! I also am a huge fan of The Organic Pharmacy Serums. Their Antioxidant Face Firming Serum is one of my favorites, but it is also an oil:

      http://www.lolassecretbeautyblog.com/2013/06/the-organic-pharmacy-antioxidant-face.html

I also love their Rose Plus Marine Brightening Serum (I haven't written a review yet, but have an overview):

      http://www.lolassecretbeautyblog.com/2013/10/the-organic-pharmacy-six-more-reason-to.html

And I also love their Rose Plus Marine Collagen Complex:

      http://www.lolassecretbeautyblog.com/2013/08/the-organic-pharmacy-rose-plus-marine.html

All of these are stupendous products, but the real question is what are you looking for in a serum, and what do you want it to do? You can spend piles of money on things that you don't need, and it is so easy to do. Are you looking for antioxidant rich anti-aging products, or products that treat very specific issues like hyperpigmentation etc. Keep me posted! Have a lovely weekend! :-)

  7. it me, the annoying yaraa again.. how do you feel about using hair care or skin care with silicone and dimethicone?I hear out of not too good..I wad ready to order the rodial moisturizer when I found dimethicone in the ingredients.. what's your intake on that? as always, then you for your wonderful posts and opinion.... have a nice night...

    1. Hi Yaraa,

You aren't at all annoying!!! Well, for me personally I tend to prefer products with fewer silicones in them. Part of this is because I tend to prefer products with high quality natural ingredients, but also because products that contain too many silicones tend to irritate my skin when used over a period of time. They don't bother my hair so much, but I do also like using hair oils that don't contain silicones. I do, however, use several styling products (and those that tame frizzies) that do contain silicones. I think that it all depends on what you are looking for, and whether you are sensitive to products that contain silicone. Have a wonderful day!

    1. Radical is an amazing line, and I absolutely love this cream. They make such effective products, and this is definitely one of my all-time favorite creams. It's really great this time of year too! You can't really compare my usage with that of a normal consumer though– because I am always testing out new products and new lines in order to report my findings to you. That way you can sift through the products that I try and see which ones sound like a good fit for you. Try not to become confused by it– instead think about what types of products you need or want, and then you won't find yourself purchasing things unnecessarily. I have also always spent a lot of money on skincare (long before the blog) because I really truly love skincare products and always like to try new things. Of course I do have tried and true favorites, but those often change over the years as well.

  9. Would you say this is a deep enough moisturizer for Winter in the Northeast (for mature skin)? I do not have combination skin but normal to dry (and seemingly getting dryer as I age). (I am already thinking about the next big event at either SpaceNK or Barneys which appears like it might be February from your past reviews.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well, given how bitter cold your winters are, and that your skin is on the dryer side you might want to layer this with one of your beauty oils. This pairs very nicely with the African Botanics Neroli Infused beauty oil that you have! You might see if your Space NK has a sample of this that you can try. I really love it, and suspect that you would like it as well. You got it right– February is the next time that we will see those events for both!

  10. I'm going to write this down so I can ask when I am near SpaceNK. It is a distance from me and not a place a venture to regularly. Thanks.

  11. I was in the area of SpaceNK today and stopped in. I tested a bit on my hand and was given two packets to try. I am looking forward to trying it. I just have to decide what to pair it with when testing as that might make a difference. My latest routine is cleanse, oil, serum, moisturizer. But, which ones...that is the question (since I don't own other Radical products). Oh, wait, maybe I got one in either the Barneys or SpaceNK bonus in October.....
