Radical Skincare Instant Revitalizing Mask: An Effervescent Review!

 Press Sample (Affiliated Links)

My continued and ever-growing love affair with Radical Skincare surely comes as no surprise-- since I wax poetic about the line every chance that I get. I am very compelled by the Edlich sisters, and after having met and spoken to Rachel extensively-- I can tell you that my admiration for the Edlich's coupled with my unmitigated love of their products is very well-deserved.  As I have said before, their radical story is uplifting and inspirational-- and their products are among the very best that I have ever had the pleasure of using. Read my reviews of Radical Hydrating Cleanser and Radical Revive Eye Crème and you will understand why I am over-the-moon about Radical Skincare. Please take a moment to read Rachel and Liz Edlich's inspirational booklet that documents their approach to radical living-- it is very uplifting and edifying.

At the core of Radical Skincare is Trylacel Technology:

Fighting Free Radicals Damage and Aging with antioxidants: Antioxidants are the best defense against free radical damage and aging. The strongest antioxidants are found in nature’s dark night shade fruits like resveratrol, coffee berry, acai, grapeseed, red wine extract, pomegranate, and cranberry to name a few. Multiple antioxidants are required to fight the numerous types of free radicals. Using one or two antioxidants is simply not enough.

When antioxidants are combined with reparative ingredients in a cream they break down and lose their power, rendering them ineffective to protect your skin from this free radical assault and therefore daily deterioration continues aging your skin. Until now.

Trylacel™a radical breakthrough in suspension technology, keeps the antioxidant potency and performance in the cream to deliver maximum benefits and results quickly. By combining and encapsulating maximum levels of powerful antioxidants, clinically proven reparative and soothing agents in a bi-lipid membrane.
Instant Revitalizing Mask is the ultimate antidote for "dull, out-of-breath skin." After shaking the bottle to evenly distribute the ingredients, and to activate the oxygen bubbles, you apply an even layer over your face, neck and décolleté and simply wait for the magic to begin. When you pump it out it resembles a serum, but in about a minute it begins to turn into a luxuriously light and creamy oxygenated foam. Soon after, the foam gives way to tiny little bubbles that percolate against the skin, and they feel more like elegant lightly bursting Champagne bubbles, rather than Pop Rocks. The experience is soft, gentle and invigorating. After about 3-5 minutes the mask dissipates and one then rinses the remaining residue from the face. The first time that I used it I was astounded by the immediacy of the results. My skin had that revitalized oxygenated flush that one tends only to see after a professional facial, but Instant Revitalizing Mask was able to achieve the same results in only 5 minutes!

Radical Skincare claims that Instant Revitalizing Mask boosts skin's radiance with effervescent bubbles, and hydrates and nourishes "hungry skin" with vitamins and oxygen. They also claim that it softens, smooths, and makes skin glow in minutes. I often find that skincare companies have trouble delivering on all of their claims, but that simply isn't the case with Radical Skincare. If anything, they understate the efficacy of their products. After using the mask my skin is unbelievably radiant and luminous-- something akin to a very healthy glow. Skin is immediately transformed from dull to radiant, and has the added benefit of being deeply nourished and hydrated. My skin is left soft, smooth, supple, and glowing-- the results are really that remarkable. In my closet filled with masks I don't have anything that produces such radical results! Furthermore watching the metamorphoses from serum to creamy foam to bursting oxygenated bubbles is fun, and it feels wonderfully refreshing against the skin!

The Instant Revitalizing Mask is the ideal coach for the skin: it delivers the nutrients necessary for hydration and regeneration while teaching it to breathe, stock up on energy and optimize its oxygen resources in rarefied conditions.

Benefits:
-Optimize oxygen resources for a lasting youthful glow
-Stimulates energy production
-Controls oxidation reactions
-Smoother skin

How to use: "Apply twice a week on cleansed dry skin. Let mask activate and dissolve after several minutes, rinse face and follow with Peptide Infused Antioxidant Serum and Anti-Aging Restorative Moisture." After I use the Instant Revitalizing Mask, I follow with their Peptide Antioxidant Serum and their Anti-Aging Replenishing Extreme Moisture (both reviews forthcoming) instead of their Anti-Aging Restorative Moisture, and the results are just breathtaking!

REMEMBER- Shake to Activate the oxygen bubbles to carry these anti aging nutrients to energize your skin. Then pump to release the Radical goodness and enjoy!
This is how the mask appears after you initially apply it to the face.
Here you can see the luxurious creamy foam forming.
Now the bubbles are percolating and beginning to burst.

Clinically Proven High Performance Active Ingredients include:

Green Coffee: The hydroxyl radical is an extremely reactive free radical formed in biological systems and has been implicated as a highly damaging species in free radicals pathology, capable of damaging almost every molecule found in living cells. This radical has the capacity to conjugate with nucleotides in DNA and cause strand breakage, having far reaching implications leading ultimately to carcinogenesis, mutagenesis and cytotoxicity. Green Coffee is a good scavenger of active oxygen species, and a very strong antioxidant.

Sodium PCA: Humectants are ingredients that hydrate and hold moisture in the skin. Sodium PCA is an incredible humectant that occurs naturally in the skin and is greatly responsible for the skin’s moisture-binding capacity. It is derived from 100% natural amino acids and is highly water absorbing. Due to its moisture-binding ability, this ingredient is used to increase the skin’s softness, as it helps maintain a healthy moisture balance.

Vitamin E: This active ingredient preserves the skin against aggressivity of free radicals created by oxydation coming from exposure to pollution ,excess of sun and age.

    1. Hi Sunny! It is so much fun to use, but the results makes this mask truly spectacular! You definitely should check out the line-- it really is amazing! :D

  2. LOLOL. I purchased this and I THOUGHT I had already read a review by you on your blog, lol. OBVIOUSLY NOT : ) Have to say, this is a GREAT mask. I originally used one by Bliss which didn't wow me in any way. Via another Vblog, I tried Sue Devitt's and fell in love. THEN another Vblog raved about Dr. Brandt's Oxygen mask... tried it when my SD ran out and loved IT. My routine was to use a glycolic peel/mask and then follow with an oxygen mask (kudus to Sue Devitt for this; do it nightly for a month and then once a week every month for a year).. amazing results. When Dr. Brandts was finished, I thought I had read about how much you loved Radicals' mask so I purchased it... and LOVE IT EVEN MORE.

My goal is to truly fine-tune my skincare and makeup in 2014. Difficult to do because there are so many wonderful and interesting products always popping up on the market. Some I can say "no thanks" to instantly but others.... not as easily : ) Radical is doing what I want it to do and it plays so well with my Sjal, Chantecaille and Revive products; it's truly a keeper.

This mask goes on so easily/smoothly and gives you enough time to apply it all over your face before it begins to poof and when it's finished, my skin just glows. I do the exact same thing as you: Youth Serum and then the Extreme Moisture; wonderful routine. BTW, QVC UK is featuring Radical this weekend and their kits are super!!! How I wish they would offer those same configurations here in the US!

    1. Hi 3bDiva! That is so funny that you thought that I had already given it a rave review!! I agree wholeheartedly-- this is one GREAT mask! I'm so glad that you love it more than the others that you have used! I will definitely be purchasing this when I finish this bottle. The results are just so pronounced!

I completely agree with you that Radical plays so well with other lines-- I just wish that they would come out with a beauty oil!

I don't yet have a full size Youth Serum, but it is on my list (I have a couple of samples, and really want to get the full size bottle). I know, isn't it so exciting that Radical is being featured on QVC UK!! I'm so happy for Liz & Rachel!! Have a lovely weekend! :D

    1. Wow, what a great deal! Thanks for letting me know! Did you order it?

  4. I sure did. It took about a hot minute after I learned of it. Did you get one? I have ordered one (the last one) of these special sets in the past. It was a gorgeous selection and came packaged so beautifully!

    1. Good for you– you really got an awesome deal! I didn't get one because I have about half a bottle left, and a new one that I haven't opened yet. While the deal is excellent I don't need a third bottle of the mask. I will definitely keep a closer eye on their special gift sets though!

  5. Maybe they will give you advanced warning as a blogger. I joined their email list after the last bo x hoping to be notified of upcoming boxes. Although I do get an email from them (almost daily) there was no mention of this box (which is really all that interests me). So I may unsubscribe from the list. I learned of this box from another blogger site. If you do a search, I'm sure you can find out about the previous boxes to decide if you want to put out anything on your site.

    1. Daily emails of that kind can be helpful, but too many of them can end up being so much to sort through! I will have to keep an eye on their special boxes since the values are so good! Speaking of great deals…the Space NK bag event starts on February 18th! I will publish the details once I receive all of them!

  6. Yeah! The one in September was my first. Are they always only one day?

    1. Historically it has been a one day only event, but they begin pre selling about a week earlier than the event itself. They will begin pre-selling about a week earlier this time as well. I will publish all of the details the moment that they become available!

  7. I got my gorgeous box. They do have beautiful packaging. I just tried this product. It sure did tingle (and kind of itch) during the time on my face. Now that I've rinsed it off, my skin does feel extremely tight. I'm not sure if that's intended or if it just dried out my skin. I do have a sample of the multi brightening serum. Wondering if I should use that after the mask. Can't decide!

    1. YAY! It definitely tingles, but if it itches– as in you feel that it might be irritating to your skin–then I would probably use something tried and true on your skin rather than introducing et another new product. This way you will be better able to evaluate the efficacy of the mask!

  8. I will definitely try this product for the minimum (vs. maximum) time next time. I did use the serum but then followed it with an oil and then my Pevonia soothing cream for sensitive skin. My skin looks fine. Right now it feels fine with the exception of my upper cheeks (just under the eye bone) which is still feeling very tight. My skin feels smooth, though.

    1. Interesting that it seemed to impact one area more than the rest of your face. I wonder if it was too close to your eye, or whether that part of your skin is just more sensitive than the rest of your skin. I agree that it is a good idea to leave it on for a shorter period of time when you use it next. I'm glad that it left your skin feeling smooth!

  9. I discussed this with the Radical facialist at Space NK yesterday. The product is supposed to make your face red because that means it is bringing the oxygen to the surface (as intended). So it is not the same thing as the dreaded 'this product irritates my skin and makes it red' that those of us with sensitive skin fear. Also, she put this on my face. Then she took it off with wet pads. Then she took a very hot towel and and put it on my face for a while. When she took it off, the mask had re-activated and done further 'work'. She then removed it again. It tingled the with the first activation and not with the second. Very interesting!

    1. Yes, that is what the product is supposed to do, but what you described about the way that your skin reacted sounded more like it may have been irritating your sensitive skin. I'm so glad that is not the case because it is such a spectacular mask! Do you remember the name of the facialist? I know a lot of the people at Radical and there's a fair chance that I know who gave you your facial!! :-)

  10. I can't recall but she lives in MA.
