Purchased by meI am a huge proponent of mixing colors because the results can yield unexpected delights, and more often than not I end up with a color not otherwise found in my stash. Such was the case when I decided to mix Tom Ford's Frantic Pink and Wicked.
Frantic Pink (left) (discussed here and here) is a pinky peach shade with warm multicolor pearl, and Wicked (right) (reviewed here) is a mid-tone cool leaning blue-based raspberry pink with multicolor pearl. It is interesting that in the face of the cool-toned Wicked that Frantic Pink ostensibly morphs into Frantic Peach on me!
Left to right: Frantic Pink, Wicked, and the Frantic Pink/Wicked Private Blend (to use the Tom Ford vernacular).
The end result of their union is a breathtakingly gorgeous pink.
The blended shade tempers the boldness of Wicked and the warmth of Frantic Pink.
I love each of the shades individually, but together they create the perfect pink.
This combination definitely hits my pink blush sweet spot!
Reason #37 Lola and BooBooNinja are sisters from another mother. Both girlies enjoy mixing/layering colours.ReplyDelete
The new blush is beautiful. It floats my boat. (*groan* I did not wake up this morning thinking I'd comment on a blog using both a goofy phrase and a nerdy idiom.)
Hear Hear! Mixing is THE BEST way to expand your color wardrobe, and it is so creative and fun!! We are two peas in a pod!Delete
I'm glad that you like the new blush-- I do too!!! It floats my boat as well! <3
did you apply frantic first and then layer it wicked over it or vice versa?
Hi!! I started out with Wicked, then added frantic pink, and then a touch more Wicked and blended it until I achieved the color that I was looking for. Of course you could vary the intensity depending on what color you wanted, but I was really happy with this combination. :-)Delete
I love your blog! Check out mine please at georgia5179.blogspot.com !ReplyDelete
Hi Georgia! Thanks for your kind words- I'm so happy that you love my blog! I will check your blog out! :DDelete
What a great idea to mix them! We mix foundations and creams and layer lipsticks, so why not layer blush. Cool!ReplyDelete
I mix everything!! It's such a great way to stretch your color wardrobe! I'm glad that you found this useful! <3Delete
lola, thanks so much for the great tip! will definitely try your method of mixing & go from there. i love FP & wicked individually, but honestly peachy pink blushes are my weakness. never thought blend the two. i may even mix it up with flush as well! thanks again & btw, awesome blog! it's my daily read!ReplyDelete
My pleasure! I'm so glad that you found this post helpful :D I love FP & Wicked individually as well, but the combination is just amazing!! If peachy pink is your weakness- then you will be super happy playing with this combination! Mixing it up with Flush will probably be breathtaking!! Let me know how it turns out, and which combinations work best for you!!Delete
Thank you so much for making my blog a daily read-- you just made my day! <3
This is a gorgeous mix!! Like kissandmakeup says - we mix foundation & lip products why not blush. I've layered a powdered blush over a cream one if I know it's going to be a really long day but hadn't thought abt mixing powdered ones to come up with a new combo! Will have to see what I can mix up tomorrow!ReplyDelete
I'm always happy when my daily Bloglovin' says there's a new post up!!
I'm so glad that you like the combination!! I find that mixing all of my makeup makes for some really gorgeous new colors, but of course there are some that never end up seeing the light of day- LOL! Keep me posted on your mixing adventures! I can't wait to hear what you come up with! <3Delete
Frantic Peach!!! I love it!!! Seriously that is one beautiful color, Ms. Lola!!! Wish I was as good at mixing colors, though I have been experimenting a bit more with mixing lip colors so that's a start :-)ReplyDelete
I'm glad that you like it my beloved, Gummy! It is a very striking combination. Just start experimenting-- it is so much fun! You should try it with some of our beloved Burberry blushes-- they mix beautifully! I mix everything- because it really is a lot of fun! Once you get started it is hard to stop imagining what new colors you can come up with! :-)Delete
