Sephora Collection Retractable Rouge Gel Lip Liner in 01 The Nudest

The other day my sister told me that she discovered the perfect cool nude lipliner that is the same as the color we both used years ago, and that perfect shade was never to be found again–from any brand– after searching the vast sea of nude lipsticks, lip liners and lip glosses. Then she did it, she found the perfect shade, and told me to get it. Sephora Collection Retractable Rouge Gel Lip Liner in 01 The Nudest is the perfect cool pinky-beige nude, and to make matters even better, it can be used as a lipliner, or all over the lips as a lipstick. It can serve as a traditional lip liner, and topped with lipstick or lipgloss, since this beauty boasts an incredible formula that feels wonderful on the lips, and while Sephora describes it as a "matte cool nude" it does have a light sheen and isn't drying on the lips. It is soft and creamy, and it deposits color evenly, it doesn't settle into lip lines, and it is long-wearing. 

Furthermore, it has a twist up applicator and a small sharpener at the bottom to sharpen the tip of the crayon itself. However, I do not bother with sharpening it since I use it all over my lips as a lipstick, and therefore like the duller tip and wider base. Not only is it the nicest, and most versatile, lip liner in my collection, but it is also by far the most affordable at $13.00.

SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO AIRBRUSH PERFECTOR #51 | REVIEW

I have been online stalking the Sephora Collection Pro Airbrush Perfector #51 for about a year, and didn't purchase it until now principally because I already had more than enough multipurpose foundation and blending brushes, but I kept returning to this one because it really resonated with me. I love that the brush itself is quite compact, it measure a little under 4" inches in length, and that it comes with its own plastic case to protect it while traveling. In fact, between its compact size and plastic case, it is the perfect travel companion.

This brush has densely packed cruelty-free synthetic bristles with a beveled edge, making it a perfect blender brush that can efficiently get into hard-to-reach places. The bristles are soft, but not so soft as to be ineffective. It picks up, lays down and blends out products to perfection, and it truly does achieve an airbrush finish– as the name suggests. It can be used to apply foundation, bronzer, highlighter and finishing powder, and I have found that it works equally well with cream, liquid, and powder formulas. That said, I tend to use it the most to apply foundation, and because the bristles are synthetic it does not waste foundation by unwanted absorption. The dense plastic handle is comfortable in the hand, and the brush is quite well-balanced and user-friendly.

A multi-use, multi-formula precision brush that can be used all over the face to achieve flawless results. This brush allows you to apply any of your complexion products from foundation to contour products to highlighter and blush. It's the perfect universal complexion brush that fits in your makeup bag. It can be used with creams, liquids, powders, and translucent powder formulas.
This product is not tested on animals.

Suggested Usage: Place product on one side of the brush. Blend in one direction for fuller coverage. Use the clean side to buff off any excess product or sheer out coverage. To use as a contour brush: Place product on half of the tip of the brush and blend in an angular motion in one direction. Can also be used to apply bronzer our highlighter to décolleté.

Note the extent to which the bristles are densely packed.

Overall Assessment: I love this brush, and the only regret that I have is waiting so long to buy it.

Hakuhodo + Sephora Pro Otsubu Large Teardrop Pointed Powder Brush

Among my purchases from the ongoing Sephora Sale is the Hakuhodo + Sephora Pro Otsubu Large Teardrop Pointed Powder Brush that I just had to have. It's not that I actually needed another makeup brush, because I have more than enough brushes, but I have collected Hakuhodo brushes for many years and couldn't resist this one given its inherent affordability.

Hakuhodo + Sephora Pro Otsubu Large Teardrop Pointed Powder Brush is a very nice synthetic pointed powder brush with a tapered head that is perfect for contouring, applying bronzer, blush and other powder products. The head is densely packed with soft and fluffy synthetic bristles that effortlessly pick up, deposit and blend powders, and the tapered pointed tip allows for precise control. The bristles are neither too soft, which lends itself to being floppy and ineffective, nor too taut, which lends itself to being harsh and potentially scratchy against the skin. It has a beautiful red lacquered handle (I think that it is wood) and a sturdy metal ferrule with a matte black finish. The brush is well-balanced, comfortable in the hand and very easy to use.

As I have said before, if you are a collector of Hakuhodo brushes, you probably are quite accustomed to using their animal hair bristles, though they do have quite an impressive collection of synthetic brushes as well, and therefore you may already have a preference for animal hair brushes. However, if you are among the many people who prefer to use synthetic brushes, then this brush is definitely worthy of your consideration, and it lives up to Hakuhodo's legendary quality.

Overall Assessment:While I certainly didn't need to buy another makeup brush, this Hakuhodo was a worthwhile purchase for me. It is still available, and on sale– therefore ,if you are interested you don't have to miss out. It's beautiful red box and red handle also makes this a nice Valentine's or Galntine's Day gift.

Clare V. for Sephora Collection: Agnes Clutch | Review

I did a fair amount of damage during the recent, and ongoing, Sephora Sale, and I am so happy that I purchased the Clare V. for Sephora Collection: Agnes Clutch! Clare Vivier, who is a local Los Angeles artisan, makes the most beautiful handbags, clutches (for which she is incredibly famous), wallets, apparel and sunglasses. I have long admired her beautiful creations, and couldn't believe that I was able to pick up this incredible bag for a mere $15.00.

This beautiful canvas clutch is very spacious, at 11.75" x 6.5", and it even includes an interior zip compartment. It is large enough to carry plenty of makeup and full-size makeup brushes, but given that it is 11.75" wide it will be too big for smaller handbags, but is very well suited to larger totes and travel bags. The zippers are smooth and don't skip or catch in the least bit.

La Beauté est dans la Rue (beauty is in the street), which comes from French poster art in May 1968, refers to a student uprising in Paris at that time.
