Rösle Garlic Press with Scraper Review

Rösle Garlic Press with Scraper is my latest purchase from this incredible brand, and what an incredible purchase this was. This garlic press is heavy, sturdy, beautifully made and it's dishwasher safe. It is very easy to clean since the grate flips open completely. Simply rinse with water to remove any garlic and put in the dishwasher. Rösle says that it works with peeled and unpeeled garlic, and ginger, but I have only used it for garlic so far. I also found mine on sale at Amazon, and at $39.97 it is a significant savings over the suggested retail price of $55.00). This is by farther best quality garlic press that I have ever owned, and I am delighted with my purchase.

Crate & Barrel Silicone Spoonula Review

When all of my silicone spatulas and spoonulas started falling apart, after many years of continued use, I knew that it was time to replace them. My go-to store when I am seeking great sales on kitchen products has been Crate & Barrel for many years. I find so many great sale and clearance deals from them that they have become my most reliable source for my kitchen. The Crate & Barrel Silicone Spoonula, which I had been eyeing for a while, suddenly was on clearance, and that is when I jumped and bought 4 of them. Normally $12.95 each, the white spoonulas are currentlynon clearance sale for a mere $3.97 each, and I highly recommend getting them if you need to purchase a spatula or spoonula in the near future. However, their grey and black spoonulas are not on sale. 

These spoonulas are very sturdy and stain and scratch-resistant, and Crate & Barrel states that they are suitable for all types of cookware, including non-stick. They are constructed with a sturdy nylon core that is covered in silicone, and they are BPA and BPS-free. The Crate & Barrel Silicone Spoonula is dishwasher safe– to which I can attest– and they can withstand high heat cooking.

Rösle Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls are a Game Changer

Rösle Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls have been on my radar for many years. I have long-loved this German brand's products, established in 1888, and was aware of them even when I was a teenager working in a gourmet kitchen store. I have several of their products, but always wanted their stainless steel nesting mixing bowls. I first purchased the set of three, but quickly realized that I wanted a larger one, and then perhaps even a couple of the smaller ones. 

Rösle Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls (Set of 3: $98.83 from Amazon and $100.35 from Wayfair): I have wanted this set forever, and between a gift card and Amazon points, it was the obvious time to purchase this set. A few of my favorite glass mixing bowls broke over the years, and I knew that I wanted a full set of high quality stainless steel bowls, and this was really the only brand that I was considering. They are built to last forever, and are worth the price because the quality is extraordinary. They have some weight to them, and they are very stable. The flared rim makes pouring really easy, and the mixing bowls are very comfortable to handle.

While the set of three is unmitigated perfection, I knew as soon as I received them that I was going to need  the largest one that was not included in the set, and ordered it that very day!

Rösle Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl 11" and 9 quarts ($71.98 from Amazon): I am delighted by this large bowl, it was precisely what I was looking for, and it nests perfectly with the set of three bowls. If you do not need a large mixing bowl for your common kitchen tasks, then the set should absolutely suffice, but I always need a really large bowl for a variety of cooking and baking needs.

Sizes from largest to smallest: 11 inch diameter and holds 9 quarts, 9.4 Inch diameter and holds 5.7 quarts, 7.9 inch diameter and holds 3.3 quarts and 6.3 inch diameter and holds 1.7 quarts.

The two small sizes that I am contemplating, and will likely buy, are: the 3.2 inch diameter and . 21 quart ($22.50 from Amazon) and the 4.7 inch diameter and .74 quart ($21.80 from Amazon). These will nest perfectly inside of the 4 bowls that I already have, and are perfectly sized for smaller tasks.

Overall Assessment: Rösle is less well known in the United States, and quite well known throughout Europe, and it is definitely a brand worth exploring if you love to cook. It is such a pleasure using these bowls, and their other products are also exceptional. A+

Crate & Barrel White Marble Rolling Pin on Sale for $19.97

I have to confess that I regularly shop the Crate & Barrel sales, and I find so many things for my house at huge savings. I check their kitchen sale section more often than I would like to admit, but I have found more incredible deals with them. I usually order online, and we pick the items up at one of their local stores, but sometimes I just order online. One of my recent discoveries was the Crate & Barrel White Marble Rolling Pin, and at $19.97 (regularly $49.95) I just had to get it– particularly since I no longer have a rolling pin (I have no idea what happened to mine!). It is heavy, hand-turned white marble, and it is perfect for my baking and cooking needs.
