I have a jar that lives on my nightstand, and I use it every single night before I go to bed.

They are healthy, devoid of harmful ingredients, they smell lovely and they are very effective. Furthermore, they neither stain clothing, nor do they leave a white residue on the skin. They are, in a word, perfection.
The new LAVANILA Elements Collection, which is available at Sephora, is a, "collection of fresh, energizing deodorants where health and wellness collide." LAVANILA sought inspiration from the "core elements of nature — Air, Water and Earth" and these aluminum-free deodorants are "infused with carefully curated blends of pure essential oils to awaken our connection to the Elements and the immense power within them." I love all three of their new scents, but lately I have been wearing Vanilla + Water for Peacebecause I just can't get enough of the Chamomile and Jasmine aroma on these warm summer days.
Vanilla + Air for Creativity: "An uplifting, floral pairing of violet and rose, perfect for a budding artist or brainstorming session." This lovely light floral has a beautiful floral aroma that is punctuated by rose and violet, but it is neither too strong or sweet, nor is it powdery. Instead, the lovely fragrance sits close to the skin and has a refined and elegant floral scent.
Vanilla + Water for Peace: "A calming blend of chamomile and jasmine ideal for yoga class or stressful meetings." This deodorant has such an extraordinary aroma that is best described as a sweet floral reminiscent of a warm ocean breeze infused with Jasmine and other light florals.
Vanilla + Earth for Balance: "A warm and woody combination of patchouli and sandalwood that enhances focus and concentration." While its description might summon thoughts of a heavy woody scent punctuated by a pungent patchouli, this is a light, sweet and creamy woodsy scent infused with warm florals, and without any detectable notes from the patchouli. It has a depth and yet it isn't in the least bit overpowering.
Overall Assessment: I couldn't be happier with these tried and true LAVANILA picks, and the aforementioned products are my current summertime favorites.

When the Makeup Wars! Team decided to feature non-glam beauty essentials, I thought about the short list of daily picks that I am never without, and that I always repurchase. It became very clear to me that there were only a few things that I always keep on hand, and since the focus is non-glam that really excluded skincare and makeup. Here is a very short and concise list of the non-glam things that I have been repurchasing for years and use all of the time:
1) Organyc 100% Organic Cotton Rounds ($9.09 for a 3-pack from Amazon): I use these every single day to remove makeup, to apply a toner or facial mists that don't spray finely enough, to apply alcohol to the occasional cat scratch, to remove nail polish, and to do anything else that I can think of. They are absolutely indispensable, and they waste less product than cotton balls. They also work well to blend foundation in a pinch when you may not have a foundation brush or sponge handy.
2) Kiss My Face Cucumber Green Tea Active Life Deodorant ($4.68-$5.99 for 2.48 oz. Amazon, Walmart and Whole Foods Market): I have long used more natural deodorants, and this is the one that I have repeatedly repurchased for many years. It does a good job deodorizing, isn't filled with chemicals, doesn't leave a white residue on clothing and it has a wonderful fresh scent. I couldn't even begin to guess how many of these I have purchased over the years.

3) Trader Joe's Moisturizing Cream Shave Honey Mango ($3.49 for 8 oz. from Trader Joe's. It should be noted that it neither clogs the razor, nor does it leave behind a greasy film, and it is very well suited for sensitive skin. It gives a very clean and close shave and leaves skin silky smooth and soft. My husband and I both use and love this, and therefore we tend to buy 3-4 tubes at a time so that we don't run out. This shaving cream is so popular, that my Trader Joe's sometimes even runs out, and you have to wait for them to restock!

Odacité's Pa+G Papaya-Geranium Serum Concentrate Hyperpigmentation (Retail $39.00 for 0.17 oz.): This beautiful beauty oil is formulated to specifically target hyperpigmentation. It is lightweight enough to absorb quickly on damp skin, but doesn't absorb so quickly on dry skin so as to be ineffective as a massage oil.
