It is hard to believe that Lola's Secret Beauty Blog turns 12 years old today! On November 6, 2011, I sat down to pen my first LSBB post, and all of these years later I still post daily– despite the fact that the landscape of blogging has dramatically changed. Lola's Secret Beauty Blog Turns 11!

11 years ago today, I sat down to write my first feature for Lola's Secret Beauty Blog. I had absolutely no idea that more than a decade later I would still be writing at least one post per day, or even maintaining an interest in so doing. This space has always been a refuge for me, and as long as I continue to enjoy it, I will continue to write for LSBB. Of course, much has changed in these 11 years, and the world looks very different today than it did then. One of the notable differences is that my beloved kitty Lola, after whom I named this blog, is no longer alive and sleeping on my lap as I sit at the computer, and that will always be a bittersweet reflection. Thank you for your loyal readership all of these years, and know that I am endlessly grateful that you take time out of your day to stop by and peruse my musings. xo, H

Ten years ago today, on November 6, 2011, Lola's Secret Beauty Blog was born. I didn't set out to start LSBB, but it organically happened as an escape from the rigors of my career. Ten years later, I continue to post every single day, and am grateful to all of you who have been with me since the beginning and all of you who came along later. In a world so busy, I am honored that you make the time to stop by. Thank you so much for making this such a nice space. Cheers! Helen and Lola (the kitty after whom this blog was named).

It's hard to believe that today is Lola's Secret Beauty Blog's 5th birthday! Five years ago today, I sat at my computer and penned my first review for LSBB, and every single day since I have published at least one post.

It's hard to believe that today marks the 4 year anniversary of Lola's Secret Beauty Blog, and it is a testament to your loyal readership, the friendships that we have forged, and our commonalities beyond lipsticks and eye creams that makes this space so sacred to me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued friendship– were it not for you, I would have likely already lost interest in penning a beauty blog. You are such lovely, intelligent and interesting people that I remain very happy to continue to nourish Lola's Secret Beauty Blog. In truth, this blog is as much about you as it is about me, and I am excited to continue this journey with you.

Lola's Secret Beauty Blog Turns Three Today!

It was three years ago today that while sitting at my desk, and in desperate need of a diversion from my academic writing and translating, that I sought refuge by penning my very first beauty product review for Lola's Secret Beauty Blog. I had tried my hand at blogging a year earlier, but two of my beloved cats were simultaneously stricken with deadly forms of cancer, and I was rendered so devastated and heartbroken that my grief overshadowed my fledgling little blog. Once I was ready to resume my blogging journey it occurred to me that my skincare and makeup obsession needed an appropriate forum, and I looked at Lola who was snuggled up and purring in my lap, and decided that this lovely creature would lend her name to this blog as well.

This blogging journey, that started as a diversion, soon developed into so much more, and ultimately took on a life of its own. The greatest satisfaction that I gain from authoring these virtual pages is what it ultimately leads to, and that is interacting with lovely people. I have both virtually and actually met so many amazing people from readers, bloggers, publicists, sales associates, sales reps, makeup artists, estheticians, owners and CEOs of companies, affiliates, and managers to name but a few.

What Lola's Secret Beauty Blog has become is in large part because of you, and your loyal readership keeps me motivated to continue writing about my some of my favorite things. Cheers to all of you, and thank you so much for taking this blogging journey with me! xoxox, Helen & Lola =^..^=
