B. Kamins Lifting Serum Kx Review

 Press Sample (Affiliated link)
According to B. Kamins Lifting Serum Kx is.

A gentle, toxin-free, non-invasive alternative to aggressive skin therapies or injections. This sophisticated serum combines innovative technologies to help target wrinkles and expression lines. An exclusive BMC Oligopeptide Complex™is formulated with amino zinc oligopeptides which help firm skin. Powerful natural moisturizing factors help plump and add suppleness to the skin, while sterol triglycerides help simulate human skin oils. This synergistic physiological complex creates an instant tightening sensation and helps firm and plump the skin.

B. Kamins Lifting Serum Kx was created to firm, moisturize and plump the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It is suitable for all skin types.

-Helps promote healing, firm skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles by drawing moisture to the skin’s surface.
-Can be used both under and over makeup.
-Can be used morning and night, several times daily, if needed.

Directions: Using the applicator, release a small quantity from the dropper onto clean fingertips.  Do not touch dropper directly to finger.  In a tapping motion, apply to wrinkles and expression lines after cleansing and toning.

My experience: First thing you will note is the light silky texture of the B. Kamins Lifting Serum Kx, and then you will notice that it quickly and effortlessly sinks into the skin leaving it soft and silky. My initial observation following application is that my skin is left deliciously moisturized and hydrated. Soon thereafter I definitely see a slight plumping of fine expression lines and my skin appears supple. Through continued use my expression lines are definitely softened and plumped. I cannot in any way compare this to in-office injectables since I have never tried anything like that, but I will say that this does have a softening effect on my fine lines. Truthfully, beyond all else I really love how this serum makes my skin feel-- it feels hydrated, soft and supple with the side benefit of plumping fine lines. It gives the overall appearance of youthful radiant and healthy skin. B. Kamins definitely knows how to make amazingly effective serums that are delightful to use!

Ingredients: Water, Morus Alba Leaf Extract, Acacia Senegal Gum, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Xanthan Gum, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Xnathan Gum, Glycerin, Acer Sachcarum (maple Isolate), Sodium PCA, Zinc Acetylmethionate, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodiumhydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid.
Overall assessment: As far as I am concerned B. Kamins can do no wrong! This is another A+ serum from an A+ company! I continue to be thrilled by the efficacy of their products, and their ability to deliver on the promises they make.

B. Kamins C-Resveratrol Serum Kx Review

Press Sample/Affiliate Link

B. Kamins is an outstanding company that consistently makes extraordinarily high quality luxury skincare. I have tried many of their products, and have many of them in my current daily product rotation. I love face serums, and am actually rather obsessed with them, thus I was naturally quite interested in their C-Resveratrol Serum Kx. It has not only lived up to my expectations, but not surprisingly has exceeded them. B. Kamins definitely has figured out the magical equation needed to make an effective anti-aging serum.

According to B. Kamins their C-Resveratrol Serum Kx is,

A breakthrough product, this modern, innovative serum not only protects against photo-aging which can result in premature aging of the skin, but also visibly reduces the existing signs of aging.  The precise combination of the most potent anti-oxidants, including vitamin C, resveratrol, açai oil, co-enzyme Q10, goji berry and vitamin E, work in synergy to address the different aspects of oxidization for maximum effects. Powerful peptides and hyaluronic acid help promote collagen synthesis and plump the dermis for smoother, firmer-looking skin.  Results are improved defense against environmental damage, more even skin tone, and a brighter, more youthful-looking complexion. A breakthrough, dual-action product for a luminously fresh glow.

Skin Types: "All skin types, especially mature and environmentally-damaged skin. Not to be used on hypersensitive skin."

Primary Purpose: "To protect against photo-aging with superior anti-oxidant protection and to combat existing signs of aging for your most youthful appearance."

Features/Benefits/Results:
  • Neutralizes free radicals and helps protect against photo-aging with a proprietary blend of super anti-oxidants that work in synergy for maximum effect.
  • Plumps skin for a smoother, more hydrated and healthier-looking complexion.
  • Helps strengthen the structure of the skin to increase firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles by drawing moisture to the skin’s surface thanks to peptides, urea and hyaluronic acid.
  • Minimizes the signs of premature aging, loss of elasticity, and hyperpigmentation.
  • Promotes a more even skin tone by diminishing the appearance of scars and age spots.
  • Brightens dull complexions and restores their clarity.
  • Helps improve skin texture by leaving skin softer and more youthful-looking.
Directions: "Shake well before use. Using the applicator, release a small quantity from the dropper onto clean fingertips.  Do not touch dropper directly on finger.  Apply serum each evening before bedtime to a cleansed face and neck, avoiding eye area.  In case of contact with eye(s), rinse thoroughly."
My experienceC-Resveratrol Serum Kx is a powerful anti-aging serum that combines Resveratrol, Açai Oil, Co-Enzyme Q10, Goji Berry,Vitamins E and C to scavenge free radicals. Meanwhile, the Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides deeply hydrate, plump and smooth the skin. I immediately noticed a brightening effect, and noted that my skin was left soft, supple and very hydrated. With longer term use I noticed that my expression lines were less visible, and my face felt and looked tighter and firmer. While my skin is neither slack, nor wrinkled I did notice a lifting effect. I definitely noted greater clarity, evenness of tone, and refinement in the texture of my skin.

The consistently of the serum is ever so slightly viscous, but it is just a touch thicker than water. It has a slightly oily texture- not as much slip as an exclusively oil-based serum, but more slip than a non-oil based serum (the texture straddles the divide between the two). It has a nondescript faint scent that disappears as soon as it soaks into the skin- which happens very quickly. It is yet again proof positive that B. Kamins has cracked the code on how to make amazing serums.

Ingredients: Water, Ascrobic Acid, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Ethoxydiglycol, Urea, Octoxynol-12, Laureth-23, Butylene Glycol, PEG-8, Acer Saccarum (maple Isolate), Sodium Hydroxide, Panethenol, Glcyerin, Alcohol, Carnosine, Silybum Marianum Fruit Exract, Tocopherol, Lecithin, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Resveratrol, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Glycine Soja (soybean) Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) Root Extract, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide014, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract (goji Berry), Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Bisulfite, Eurterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil, Ubiquinone, Ascrobyl Tetraisopalmitate, Vegetable Oil, Benzoic Acid, Citrus Medica Limonum Peel Oil, Phenoxyethnaol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Beta-cartoene (ci 75130), Limonene.

Overall assessment: A very nice serum, indeed! It is well worth considering if you are in the market for an anti-oxidant rich anti-aging serum.

B. Kamins Lactic-10: A Miraculous Product & Happy New Beginnings! Review!

Press Sample
B. Kamins Lactic-10 is a, "hydrating alpha beta home peel to help improve skin texture and clarity. Ideal for more sensitive skin types."

A sophisticated exfoliating and hydrating alpha beta home peel that combines lactic and salicylic acid. Ideal for more sensitive skin types, this topical treatment will help increase cellular renewal for a smoother, brighter skin tone. The Lactic-10 also controls unwanted sebum and calms skin with anti-inflammatory Vitamin B5. A combination of nourishing and moisturizing ingredients will help replenish skin while AHAs and BHAs help diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and acne scars.

Skin Types:
All skin types, particularly sun and environmentally-damaged skin. Should be avoided on extremely hyper-sensitive skin.

Primary Purpose
To help increase cellular renewal for a smoother, brighter skin tone and to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and acne scars.

Key Features & Benefits:
-Alcohol, color and fragrance-free.
-A combination of lactic and salicylic acid make this topical exfoliant an extremely effective alpha beta home peel.
-Moisturizing and anti-inflammatory ingredients help make this peel ideal for sensitive skin types, including mild acne and rosacea.
-Increases the rate of cell renewal to brighten and restore clarity to uneven complexions.
-Helps stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to help skin become thicker, tighter and more firm.
-Helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and scars.
-Helps improve skin texture – leaves skin softer and healthier-looking.
-Buffered to pH 4.0.
B. Kamins suggests,

Before use evaluate skin texture and inquire about client's history of glycolic or lactic acid use.

Apply morning and/or night to cleansed skin using the applicator to target specific problem areas on the face and neck, avoiding eye area.  DO NOT RINSE.  Start by one application every other night, increase to one application daily, then up to two times daily for best results. May be used in conjunction with Renewal Serum. (i.e. Morning: Renewal Serum, Night: Lactic-10).

Warnings and suggestions from B. Kamins: The tingling sensation that may be felt is a sign that the product is active on the skin. The sensation tends to diminish with repeated use. Should it persist or should signs of irritation appear discontinue use. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of children’s reach.

According to B. Kamins,

-Lactic Acid can increase sun sensitivity. Sunbar SPF 48 is recommended for use during Lactic treatments.
-It is a good idea to start out slowly, and gradually increase use with Lactic Acid.
Lactic Acid should not be applied on lesions or around the eyes.
-For use on entire face and neck, application period must be controlled. Apply for a period of 8 weeks, then discontinue use for the following 8 weeks (8 weeks on, 8 weeks off).
My experience: This is a very effective lactic acid-based peel. One of the things that I am very intrigued by is the ingenious packaging and applicator. Rather than a pump applicator, the thick round tip is applied directly to the skin and delivers precisely the right amount of product. It is actually very pleasant and easy to use, and the packaging itself is nothing short of brilliant. There is neither too much product dispensed, nor any spillage-- making this product very convenient and easy to use.

While the packaging is superb, it is the contents of the bottle that will win the hearts of everyone who loves to use Lactic Acid based peels. When I first began using Lactic-10, I definitely noticed a tingling sensation as it got to work on my skin. However, as B. Kamins suggested, this tingling sensation did diminish with use. At this point I no longer experience tingling after having used Lactic-10 once a day for nearly a month. I have used numerous Lactic Acid based products, but none more effective than this one. Dead skin beware, Lactic-10 really means business. My skin is very smooth, it has a pronounced clarity, my fine lines are softened, and I have markedly brighter skin. While this is a very potent peel it did not ever irritate, dehydrate, or dry out my combination skin.

It is, however, important that I remind you that my skin is accustomed to the use of Lactic Acid based products, and as such it tends not to be hyper-reactive to peels. I am among the people who react to such products quite favorably, but that is not to say that you will have the same type of reaction. People with sensitive to very sensitive skin may find this product too active, and/or irritating- and should exercise caution with this type of product.

Furthermore, any product that causes skin cell turnover at a more rapid rate exposes new skin to environmental assaults- therefore it very important to exercise due diligence and slather your skin with a high SPF sunscreen on a daily basis when using this type of product.
Overall assessment: Excellent job, B. Kamins- you have made yet another superb product! This is an amazingly effective peel that delivers real results. Bravo!

B. Kamins Nia-Stem Serum Kx Review

B. Kamins Nia-Stem Serum Kx is a brilliant restorative serum that was created in order to improve "the tone and texture of the skin minimizing the appearance of age and sun damage. Algae extract, rich in omega 3 fatty acids, reduces fine lines and wrinkles while preventing dryness. Rice bran extract brightens the skin and shields it from harmful sun rays."
Nia-Stem Serum Kx is "the perfect skincare treatment program to reverse and protect from the signs of age and sun damage. All skin types, all ages."

This is a heavy hitting anti-aging product that utilizes cutting-edge technology and the highest quality ingredients to fight fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage. It adds radiance to dull aging skin, but likewise improves the texture of the skin, and is recommended for all ages and skin types. I noted that my combination skin immediately appeared more radiant, and my face had a healthy glow from within. While I do not have deep wrinkles, I do have some expression lines that are notably diminished from this magic potion. There is an evenness of tone, and an undeniable clarity as a result of regular use, and I definitely really see a difference in the quality of my skin. Lately, I am continually hearing that I have gorgeous and radiant skin (from non-beauty professionals, to Makeup Artists, to Aestheticians), and I in part attribute it to this serum.

This advanced, anti-aging serum helps to reduce skin reactivity and restore clarity for a brighter, more even-toned complexion. The unique combination of ingredients including niacin, plant stem cells and our exclusive Bio-Maple Compound minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and age spots.

Reduce the appearance of age/dark spots for brighter more even-tone. Revitalize the appearance of sun damaged skin. Restore healthier, younger looking skin.

• Niacin and plant stem cell stimulate cell metabolism.
• Initiates repair and reduces skin reactivity.
• Detoxifies the skin cells to exude bright, even-toned, young-looking skin.

According to B. Kamins, "Plant stem cells are also all the rage right now in actives, judging from the rash of recent skin care launches. B. Kamins skin care, Pointe Claire, Canada, company utilizes heartleaf globe daisy plant stem cells in its new Nia-Stem anti-aging products."

Applying 2% plant stem cells to the face will reduce reactivity and increase skin transparency, said Liga Upeslacis, an R&D specialist with the company. Skin will be less blotchy, less inflamed and less red. Glycation byproducts are removed to increase the amount of light that can pass through the skin. She explained that the primary mechanism of action is hormesis: providing controlled, low-level stress to the skin to stimulate a healthy response, so that the defense system is better prepared for the next, unplanned, external attack. Ensuring healthy cells and a strong skin barrier is the other half of the Nia-Stem name: niacin at 5%, added Upeslacis. Proven and used for decades in dermatology, niacin repairs stratum corneum integrity for a stronger outer layer and the results are increased hydration, reduced TEWL and beautiful skin. Plus, niacin at 5% is proven to reduce sun spots and pigment deposits in the skin, by inhibiting melanosome transfer, and is gaining a reputation for its protective role in sun damage, she explained.

The new Nia-Stem products—which range from an eye serum to moisturizer—contain B. Kamins’ trademark Bio- Maple compound, a naturally-occuring maple resin, with AHAs to exfoliate and sugars that will attract water to the skin’s surface.
Apply to cleansed face and neck. Avoid contact with eyes.

Ingredients: Acer Saccharum (maple Isolate / Isolat Derable), Glycerin, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Aqua/water/eau, Dimethylacrylamide/acrylic Acid/polystyrene Ethyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Oryza Sativa (rice) Bran Extract, Niacinamide, Oligopeptide-4, Sorbitol, Algae Extract, Globularia Cordifolia Ferment, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxyde, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Methylisothiazolinone, Phenethyl Alcohol, PPG-2-methyl Ether.

Overall assessment: Another A+ product from an extraordinary company. I have been thoroughly dazzled by everything that I have tried from B. Kamins so far, and I am really looking forward to trying more of their products.

B. Kamins Nia-Stem Moisturizer Kx- Review

B. Kamins Nia-Stem Moisturizer Kx is lightweight anti-aging daily moisturizer for all skin types and ages. It is thick and creamy, yet lightweight and fast absorbing. It leaves skin comfortably hydrated, protected, and thankfully never makes the skin feel greasy or oily. My complexion is brightened and glowing after use, and it is left with a greater appearance of clarity. While my skin is not slack, I did definitely notice a lifting effect.

I am thrilled that this moisturizer is packed with anti-aging antioxidants that protect the skin from free radical-damage. Living in a world with a diminished Ozone layer means that it is incumbent upon the individual to overcompensate for this resultant increased environmental vulnerability by using products that help offset the damage that these conditions create. I, for one, use products with high concentrations of anti-aging ingredients as well as high SPF mineral sunscreens in order to do what I can to keep my skin protected against the assaults of the environment. I find that the Nia-Stem Moisturizer Kx fits perfectly into my beauty routine of carefully selected anti-aging products, and am thrilled to add it to my stash of much-loved moisturizers.

Reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles while moisturizing. Revitalize the appearance of sun damaged skin. Reduce the appearance of age/dark spots and restores healthier, younger looking skin.

This daily moisturizer with niacin, plant stem cells, and our exclusive Bio-Maple™ Compound is designed to improve skin tone and texture. This anti-aging formula increases cell life expectancy and promotes tissue regeneration to allow for a brighter complexion. This formula is designed to fight signs of aging while leaving the skin with a silky soft finish.

B. Kamins Nia-Stem Eye Cream Kx- Review

B. Kamins Nia-Stem Eye Cream Kx is a lovely and deeply hydrating eye cream that is as effective as it is pleasant to use. The texture is light, creamy, and emollient- and yet it absorbs into the delicate skin around the eyes quickly leaving behind soft, supple, and hydrated skin. It has a lifting and brightening effect that diminishes the appearance of fine lines, and leaves the skin silky smooth. Any under eye puffiness is radically reduced, and dark circles are considerably diminished. While I rarely suffer from under eye puffiness (unless I am sick, profoundly sleep deprived, or very stressed), I am prone to dark circles. I was delighted to see that this eye cream reduced the appearance of my dark circles, and I was elated that it did not give me any milia. Richer eye creams most often give me milia, but this cream is neither too rich, nor does it produce the much-dreaded milia in my under eye area. It is also very concentrated- therefore only the smallest amount is needed.

This moisturizing eye cream formulated with niacin and plant stem cells increases the skin’s aging defences to prevent future fine lines and wrinkles. This formulation is also designed to help minimize the appearance of under eye puffiness, dark circles and existing lines and wrinkles. The eye area immediately becomes tighter, lighter, and brighter.

B. Kamins Nia-Stem Eye Cream KX tightens, tones and hydrates the skin around the eyes. Hyaluronic acid fills in fine lines and crow's feet for smoother, younger-looking eyes. Bio-Maple Compound helps diminish puffiness and dark circles while wheat germ oil moisturizes.
Benefits/Results:
• Niacin and plant stem cell stimulate cell metabolism
• Initiates repair and reduces skin reactivity
• Detoxifies the skin cells to exude bright, even-toned, young-looking skin
Ingredients:
Overall assessment: Eye creams are quite often problematic for me- either they are too light and do nothing, or they are too rich- which is generally a recipe for disaster since more often than not they end up giving me milia. Nia-Stem Eye Cream Kx diminishes fine lines, reduces the appearance of dark circles and under eye puffiness, and leaves the skin hydrated, lifted, and luminous. Not only does this delightful eye cream deliver on the promises made, but it does so effectively and efficiently. This is an excellent eye cream, and it earns an A+ in my book!

B. Kamins BB Cream- Review & Swatches

I must preface my review of the B. Kamins BB Cream by stating that I have had limited experience using BB Creams before trying this one, therefore a comparison is of little use. Prior to using this B. Kamins BB Cream, I tried a sample packet of a drugstore BB cream, and a sample tube of another by Estee Lauder- and neither worked well for me. Therefore, my impressions and assessment of this product are being evaluated in isolation rather than comparatively.

According to B. Kamins,

The BB Cream is an 8-in-1 multitasking cream that will instantly lift your look. This beauty balm is packed with anti-oxidants, vitamins and peptides.

Antioxidants vitamin C and green tea extract will fight damage caused by UV, stress and aging. Peptides and hyaluronic acid correct inconsistencies in skin texture, targeting sagging, dullness and wrinkles.

The BB Cream will provide sheer, luminous coverage with its light tint (suitable for all skin tones) moisturizing agents and light-reflecting particles. Get up and go with BB Cream!

B. Kamins asserts their BB. Cream is, "A multi-purpose skin primer/protector, with extensive age control benefits providing sheer luminous coverage that evens out skin tone."

Benefits: a) Transparent colour-correcting formula revitalizes skin’s appearance, b) Ideal for all skin types and skin tones, and c) Helps to firm the skin and smooth wrinkles with hexapeptide and hyaluronic acid.

My experience: BB Cream has a very nice thick and creamy consistency. It feels much more like a tinted moisturizer than a foundations, as one might expect. Unlike a tinted moisturizer, this BB Cream feels more emollient and more like a treatment product than like a traditional tinted moisturizer.  It has a very nice consistency, and it provides sheer luminous coverage, and is moisturizing and hydrating. It leaves my skin with a sheer dewy finish, and provides continuous hydration throughout the day. Initially I thought that it might be too rich for my combination skin, but I was delighted that it did not cause me to break out in the least bit. The coverage itself is light and breathable as one expects from tinted moisturizers, but with added skincare benefits. The formula and coverage are perfect for me since I prefer tinted moisturizers to foundations, and I prefer light to medium coverage that enhances the skin rather than obscures it. If you prefer full coverage foundations, then you will likely desire greater coverage. That said, this BB Cream will make a fantastic primer for those who prefer full coverage foundations.  The shade is quite light, but the coverage is so sheer that it will likely work across a variety of skin tones.

Formulated for normal, dry, oily and combination skin types
Ingredients: Octinoxate (Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate) 7.5%, Octisalate (Ethylhexyl Salicylate) 4.5%, Octocrylene 6%. Other Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Ethoxydiglycol, Dimethylacrylamide/Acrylic Acid/Polystyrene/Ethyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14, Lycium Barbarum Extract (Gojiberry), PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycerin, Beta-Glucan, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-20/15 Dimethicone, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Sodium Polyacrylate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Trideceth-6, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Diamond Powder, Acer Saccharum (Maple Isolate/Isolat Dâ?TMérable), Hyaluronic Acid, Serum Albumin, Dextran Sulfate, Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Isononyl Isononanoate, Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Mica (CI 77019), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492).

Overall assessment: I really love this BB Cream and have been reaching for it on a daily basis. I love the light luminous coverage, and am thrilled that it keeps my skin beautifully hydrated. If you prefer a more full coverage foundation, then I recommend this lovely product as a lightly tinted primer.

By Request: Foundations, BB Creams & Tinted Moisturizers- What I am Currently Using

When wefadetogray made the special request that I do a post on my very favorite foundation- I realized that I didn't really have a single Holy Grail foundation. Instead, I currently have 6 products in rotation: 3 foundations, 1 BB Cream, and two tinted moisturizers. While there is some variation in the colors- they all work surprisingly well on my face.
1) MAKE UP FOR EVER Face & Body (Color: Ivory 20. Reviewed here): I have loved this foundation since the first moment that I tried it. It has a wonderful gel texture and buildable coverage.  This foundation is like a second skin and is very comfortable to wear, and it is lightweight and easy to spread and blend. The finish is very natural- on the satiny finish end of the spectrum. I love this foundation! I am also pleased that it is not filled with silicone!

Ingredients: Aqua, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Cycolentasiloxane, Methylpropanediol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Mangifera Indica Seed Oil (Mango Seed Butter), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, PEG-8, Phenoxyethanol, Tromethamine, Potassium Myristate, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Panthenol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Citronnellol, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionene. May Contain: CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 777493 (Iron Oxides), CI 77492 (Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides).

2) Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation (Color: 5. Review forthcoming): I am still hopelessly conflicted about this foundation. I love the finish, light coverage and thin texture. I don't like that it is filled with so many silicones. I had hoped that the natural oils would have been at the top of the list of ingredients rather than at the bottom in negligible quantities. While I really like the coverage a great deal, one must be aware that it tends to accentuate rather than conceal flaws. Any dry patches are enhanced, rather than diminished, and redness seems to be spotlighted. However, if your skin is in good shape- then this will make it look even more flawless. I tend to think that this formula is better for people with normal to oilier skin types, and that those with dry skin types might prefer a formula that is a bit more moisturizing. I would suggest requesting a sample to see if you like it before buying it because it is pricey.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Cyclohexasiloxane, Isododecane, Alcohol Denat, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Acrylates/Polytrimethylsiloxymethacrylate Copolymer, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Nelumbium Speciosum Extract/Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Limonene, Synthetic Fluorphelogopite, Benzylsalicylate, Benzyl Alcohol, Linalool, Propylene Carbonate, Caprilyic/Capric Triglyceride, Parfum / Fragrance, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Oil / Bitter Orange Flower Oil, Aqua / Water, Aluminum Hydroxide, Hexyl Cinnmai. [+/- May contain CI 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides]. (FIL B48256/5)

3) Neutrogena Healthy Skin Glow Sheers SPF 30 (Color: Ivory to Fair 10): I like the light coverage and gel like consistency because I tend to prefer sheer foundations and tinted moisturizers to more full coverage formulas. This is a nice drugstore foundation, but I would prefer to replace it with one that is from a cruelty-free company next time I am in the market to try a drugstore foundation.

Active Ingredients: Homosalate (5.0%), Octinoxate (7.5%), Octisalate (5.0%), Oxybenzone (2.0%), Titanium Dioxide (2.9%). Inactive Ingredients: Water, Phenyl Trimethicone, Cetyl Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Silica, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Barium Sulfate, Pantothenic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Tocopherol Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Squalane, Bisabolol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Polysorbate 60, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Polysorbate 20, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain: Iron Oxides, Mica, Titanium Dioxide.

4) B. Kamins BB Cream (Review forthcoming): I just started using the B. Kamins BB Cream, and so far I really really like it. According to B. Kamins, "The BB Cream is an 8-in-1 multitasking cream that will instantly lift your look. This beauty balm is packed with anti-oxidants, vitamins and peptides." 6) NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 (Color: Alaska. Reviewed here): Based upon my arm swatches, Alaska is the least well-suited shade as it pulls a bit too warm for my cool skin, however on my face it actually works- largely because it is a tinted moisturizer (and therefore a bit more forgiving). NARS describes Alaska as "light with a neutral balance of pink and yellow undertones." I love this tinted moisturizer a great deal because it has a lovely lightweight formula, it spreads easily, it is moisturizing, it contains an SPF 30, and it does not cause me to break out. People tend to be polarized about this formula- so I would suggest getting a sample first, or trying a tester to see whether or not this formula resonates with you. I will say that I do wish that it contained far fewer silicones, but for some reason my skin isn't irritated by them.
