While I have been aware of, and curious about, the NuFACE Trinity Facial Toning Device for a long time, it wasn't until my spectacular Rodial Facial at Space NK, with Cari Orr, that I experienced it firsthand (featured here). I was so thoroughly impressed by the immediacy of the results, that I vowed then and there that I would own one of these wonder-devices. It lifts and tones the skin, and essentially approximates the results of a face lift without surgery. Continued use assures cumulative results, and I have noticed that my skin is more taut, my fine lines are diminished, and that my skin has a noticeably lifted effect. I only have the dual sphere attachment that comes with the Trinity, but I am very interested in getting the NuFACE Trinity Effective Lip & Eye Attachment and the NuFACE Trinity Wrinkle Reducer Attachment because I am so impressed by the results of this game-changing anti-aging device.

NuFACE asserts that while exercise tones and sculpts the body, that their NuFACE microcurrent devices contour and tone the face with visible, long-lasting effects with continued use. In fact, they call NuFACE "Fitness for Your Face."

The underlying idea is that as the body ages that the" body’s natural current begins to slow down (like our metabolism) leading to sagging skin, loss of contour & wrinkles." The NuFACE Trinity seeks to redress this sagging by toning facial muscles while simultaneously improving skin tone, improving contour, and by reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

What is Microcurrent Technology?

Microcurrent is one of the hottest innovations in the anti-aging industry and is used in top spas and medical offices for facial contouring, toning and firming of aging skin. Microcurrent is a low-level current that mimics the body’s natural current and can provide both instant and cumulative results. Because microcurrent works sub-sensory, the treatment is soothing and most users feel nothing at all.

Microcurrent is capable of facial stimulation, sending soft, gentle waves through the skin, tissues and down to the facial muscles. Microcurrent has been shown to stimulate ATP production, which drives the creation of key structural proteins, such as collagen and elastin.

This increased ATP also energizes the facial muscles, similar to how exercise energizes the muscles of our bodies. Unlike anywhere else on the body, the facial muscles are directly connected to the skin, so the result of energizing the muscle is often an improved, lifted appearance.

Directions: Charge the NuFACE Trinity for 12 hours before use.

1. Prep: Wash face with an oil-free cleanser. Cleansers that contain oil interfere with the efficacy of the microcurrent device, and should therefore be avoided. Apply NuFACE Gel Primer to the area being treated before gliding the device over that area. Do not apply the gel to your entire face all at once, but instead to each area as you treat the individual areas.

2. Lift: Turn the NuFACE Trinity on high and then glide the device over face as directed (see the 5 and 15 minute video tutorials below). If you feel the current apply more gel. If you still feel it, then lower the setting. Do not skip the application of the Gel Primer– it is an absolutely essential step for all microcurrent treatments. The NUFACE Gel Primer, "ensures maximum microcurrent conductivity and allows your device to easily glide across the skin for optimum results."

I would suggest doing one side of your face at a time, and then looking in the mirror to see the difference between the left and right sides of your face– you will be astonished by the difference.

N.B. When I had my Rodial/NuFACE facial, I asked Carrie whether or not the NuFACE Trinity could be used on the neck to tighten and lift the skin in that particularly vulnerable area, that tends to age rapidly. She said that it was inadvisable because of the proximity of the Thyroid Gland, and that it should be strictly avoided. I therefore never use the Trinity on my neck.

3. Finish: Remove NuFACE Gel Primer with a damp cloth.

Treatment Areas: 

The Facial Trainer is designed to stimulate larger surface areas of the face, such as the jawline, cheekbones and forehead.

Here is a comprehensive breakdown of the areas to treat with the double sphere attachment that comes with the NuFACE Trinity:

FACE:

1) Jowl and Jaw: Place one she rep on the jawing with the other sphere slightly outside the corner of the mouth. Slowly glide to the lower ear until the beep sounds (5 seconds) Move to Position 2.

2) Lower Cheeks: Place one sphere under the corner of the mouth. Slowly glide to the hairline at the mid-ear until the beep sounds (5 seconds). Move to Position 3.

3) Upper Cheeks: Place one sphere outside the corner of the mouth with the other sphere above the first sphere (both spheres should be on the nasolabial fold). Slowly glide to the hairline at the upper ear until the beep sounds (5 seconds). DO NOT PLACE THE SPHERES IN THE EYE AREA; GLIDE ALONG THE ORBITAL BONE. Return to Position 1 and repeat.

FOREHEAD:

1) Thick of Brow: Place both spheres horizontally above the thick of the eyebrow. Slowly glide upward to the airline until the heel sounds (5 seconds). Move to Position 2.

2) Arch of Brow: Place both spheres horizontally, slightly above the arch of the eyebrow. Slowly glide upward to the hairline until the beep sounds (5 seconds). Move to Position 3.

3) Thin of Brow: Place both spheres horizontally slightly above the thin of the brow. Slowly glide upward to the hairline until the beep sounds (5 seconds). Return to Position 1 and repeat.

Koh Gen Do Macro Beauty Massage: The Ultimate Anti-Aging Facial Experience

When Koh Gen Do invited me to experience their legendary hour long Macro Beauty Massage Anti-Aging Facial at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills, I was thrilled. I was even more elated to learn that Diane Nakauchi, the Koh Gen Do CEO, would be the one performing miracles for both my skin and spirit. What followed was truly miraculous, and it would be an understatement to suggest that it was utterly transformational.

Diane Nakauchi is not only the CEO of Koh Gen Do, but she is also a registered nurse licensed in facial massage, and her unparalleled skill set cannot be sufficiently underscored. From the moment that my Koh Gen Do Anti-Aging Facial began I knew that I was in for the experience of a lifetime. 

Diane explained that facial massage has had a long history in Japan, and that the centuries old Anma technique removes toxins and dead skin cells while increasing blood flow.
