Dearest People,

I have been getting so many messages from you about whether the Beauty Boxes are coming back, and I'm here to reassure you that, yes, they are.

I needed to pause to switch to the monthly format, but in that pause, a bigger question surfaced: how to continue, and how to showcase what I love about plant-based skincare. Green beauty and now clean beauty have been co-opted and marketed in ways—the fear mongering, the misinformation, the quackery—that I don't find any resonance with. So the pause was also a reevaluation.

And then I heard, when I quieted all the noise, why I loved these thoughtful brands, these artisans, these gorgeous potions. The same answers that made me first launch our Beauty Boxes back in 2015 came back to me—I love a plant-based potion as an object that holds cultural memory, that reflects a relationship between people and their environment that has existed for centuries. But I also enjoy how this relationship has evolved, and evolved differently for different artisans. Whether it is in understanding the science behind the efficacy of botanical potions, figuring out how to add the right touch of lab-synthesized ingredients to gild a natural formulation, or just refining an artisanal process intuitively until the resulting product is as much wearable craft as functional.

And so, with this context, we are back with the Beauty Boxes, in a monthly format that lets us continue. As many of you know, we love showcasing excellence, and you will only find products in the boxes that I personally adore, use, and am excited about.

The Juicy Details including Billing:

• The Monthly Boxes will start with the June Box (spoilers next week!)
• The Billing schedule for existing subscribers looks like this:
• The June Box will be billed on May 11
• July Box on June 10, August Box on July 10, and so on.
• We have a limited number of 3-month subscriptions available now: these are non-renewing.
• We've opened only a limited number of monthly subscriptions, so that we have enough for current subscribers.
• The last day for those with existing subscriptions to cancel their June Box will be May 10. We cannot honor late cancellations.
