Winter Haircare and Face Products to Combat Seasonal Dry Hair and Skin

Now that winter has officially arrived, and the temperatures have dropped, we are all seeing the impact the cold weather is having on our hair and skin. Therefore, I thought that I would introduce you to a few products that you probably don't have that can help you treat your dehydrated skin and dry, brittle hair.

I have selected several botanical-infused products from clean and cruelty-free beauty brands to help your pamper yourself during this colder months.
Ethique is a wonderful eco-friendly that really wants to "eradicate the world of plastic waste" and instead of making liquid shampoos and conditioners, which require bottles, they make bars  wrapped in paper.

Ethique Damage Control Shampoo for Normal-Dry Hair ($15.20 from their Amazon Store): This shampoo is 100% soap-free, pH balanced and safe for color treated hair. It uses Coconut Oil, Coconut Cream, Cocoa Butter that nourish and hydrated the hair and scalp and Peppermint to soothe. It neither strips the hair, nor does it weigh it down and smooth without weighing your hair down. It is suitable for mildly dry/damaged hair.

Directions: Wet the bar and your hair. Swipe the bar several times down your hair from root to tip. Put the bar down and lather shampoo into hair- it will foam! Rinse. Use as a bar of soap for the body.

Ingredients: Sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium coco-sulfate, decyl glucoside, stearic acid, Cocos nucifera (coconut) butter, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, vegetable glycerine, coco caprylate, cetearyl alcohol, coconut milk powder, Mentha piperita (peppermint oil), copper chlorophyll, lactic acid.

Ethique The Guardian Conditioner Bar for Normal/Dry Hair ($17.10 from their Amazon Store): This conditioner, which can also be used as a shaving bar, is filled with lots of "Cocoa butter, Coconut Oil, Vitamin B5 and zesty lime oil" that tames frizz, hydrates dry hair and leaves your hair smooth and manageable.

Directions: After shampooing, slide the wet bar down your wet hair 4-5 times. Put the bar down and massage the conditioner into your locks. Rinse and feel the magic!

Ingredients: Behentrimonium methosulphate, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, cetearyl alcohol, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, vegetable glycerine, panthenol (vitamin b5), coco caprylate, Citrus reticulata (lime) essential oil, benzyl alcohol, dehydroacetic acid, mica.

Ethique Bloom Hair Mask for Dry or Damaged Hair ($13.95 from their Amazon Store): Bloom is a hair mask anyone with very dry, damaged hair.  It is ideal for hair weakened by overexposure to sun, swimming and color or heat styling treatments. It deeply nourishes and moisturizes the hair, and has the calming aroma of Ylang Ylang.

Directions: Drop one of the blocks into a cup, top with 1/2 mug boiling water and mix to smooth. Leave to cool for 10-15 mins until thick. Apply to dry hair and leave on for at least 20 minutes, then rinse.

The Mane Choice Split End Treatment Serum ($21.99 for 2 oz. from The Mane Choice, Sally Beauty, Amazon and Target): This hair serum is formulated to treat hair that is damaged from chemical/color treatments that is prone to breakage and that has split ends. While I do not have split ends, I do find that it leaves my hair nourished, frizz-free, hydrated and shiny. It also has a delectable fruity floral aroma.

It can be used on the face, body, hair and is also great on the cuticles.
