Colbert MD Tone Control Facial Disks | Review

As I have stated numerous times in these virtual pages, one of the key components to healthy luminous skin is the requisite amount of exfoliation. Too little and skin looks dull and listless, too much and skin becomes damaged and traumatized. Ideally, using an effective exfoliator on a weekly basis and judiciously using (and reapplying) an SPF 30 or higher will go a long way to maintaining healthy skin and the highly sought after youthful radiance.

I have regularly used various types of facial exfoliating pads for quite some time, and have to confess that my experience with Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks was a real game changer for me. Most of the solution soaked exfoliating pads that I have used are thin and double sided, Colbert MD has broken this mold by opting for a very plush and thick single-sided pad. The generously saturated pre-moistened disks include a small tab on the back that makes holding them very easy, and it allows one to maintain effortless control.
While I thought that I had achieved exfoliating pad nirvana with the Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks, I discovered that Colbert MD Tone Control Facial Disks are a whole different level of paradigm shifting exfoliating pads. Not only do these pre-moistened disks provide effective, and gentle, microdermabrasion from the surface texture of the pad, but they also encourage cell turnover that aids in the promotion of collagen production. Skin, unobstructed by a proliferation of dead skin cells, is then able to effortlessly and effectively absorb skincare products. The end result is unbelievably silky soft, smooth, supple and luminous skin. Additionally, Colbert MD Tone Control Facial Disks are saturated with ingredients that even out skin tone, lighten dark spots (hyperpigmentation), soothe redness and brighten the complexion.
Key Features, Ingredients and Their Attributes:
  • SkinBright TDS™(Triad Delivery System™) a highly effective tyrosinase inhibitor, lightens dark spots and evens skin tone.
  • Inflacin An anti-inflammatory molecule which soothes irritation and redness by blocking the PLA2 enzyme.
  • Phytomoist QuSome A moisturizing agent which is 400 times as moisturizing as Sodium Hyaluronate.
  • Environment Protective Complex A trio of defenses against environmental stressors: Coenzyme Q10 protects skin from UV damage, Genistein blocks free radicals and Lipoic Acid Omega 6 Oil replenishes essential fatty acids.
Directions: Apply to a clean, damp face in a gentle circular motion for 30 – 60 seconds. Do not rinse off. Follow with Soothe Night Cream or Nutrify & Protect Day Cream.

Precautions for use: Avoid eye area. do not use on irritated or damaged skin. Discontinue use if prolonged skin irritation occurs.
Overall Assessment: Sometimes it really does take a world renown dermatologist to create the perfect at-home exfoliating disks, and the Colbert MD Tone Control Facial Disks are proof positive of this. If you not only seek to exfoliate dead skin cells, but also want to fade dark spots and improve the overall texture and radiance of your skin, then you owe it to yourself to try this product. It is definitely an expensive luxury skincare line, but I know people who cut these disks in half and make the box last twice as long.

  1. So these have the same exfoliation as the previous pads, but extra benefits? I'm thinking I may need to add these on to my SpaceNK order. They sounds wonderful!

    1. Essentially, but their ingredients are pretty different the Intensify Facial Disks have enzymes, Lactic acid and other exfoliants, whereas the Tone Control Facial Disks are filled ingredients to right redness and inflammation, moisturizing agents, and ingredients to lighten and brighten hyperpigmentation.

      Colbert MD Intensify Facial Disks:
Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Decyl Glucoside, Bromelain, Allantoin, Acetyl Glucosamine, Gluconolactone, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum

      Key Ingredients:

Bromelain:A concentrated form of pineapple enzyme that eliminates dull skin, dryness and environmental toxins.

Lactic Acid: A gentle natural exfoliant that reduces fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and hyper-pigmentation.

Glucosamine: Increases production of hyaluronic acid, leading to better hydrated, “plumper” and more youthful skin.

I think that you will be quite impressed by this newer addition– I am!

    2. These sound perfect for me! I changed up my SpaceNK list a bit to include this, that eye shadow palette still, the by Terry light flash palette if it's still available, these pads and one of the by Terry click lipsticks. I'm happy with the variety :)

    3. They are really wonderful! Like the Intensify Facial Disks, they are so loaded with product that you can actually cut them in half to get two uses out of a single pad. Also, I don't know if you have seen it yet, but Colbert MD send me an announcement that they are having a gift with purchase themselves (starting today):

Of course shopping through them directly won't get you into a Space NK or BNY gift bag, but it's definitely good to know about it when you are deciding what you want to get, and from where.

Your selections are fantastic, and I am sure that you will LOVE your By Terry picks! I really am such a fan of By Terry, and was thrilled to see the Baume de Rose Crystalline in the SPK gift bag– that is definitely one of my all-time favorite lip balms! I can't wait for you to receive your goodies!
