African Botanics Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum | Review

While it is well-known that African Botanics has clearly distinguished itself for having created among the finest luxury beauty oils on the market, you may not yet be aware that they have likewise created one of the most outstanding nighttime serums that I have ever experienced. In fact, this potent, antioxidant-rich serum is a game-changer that effectively treats a multitude of skin concerns while you sleep.

The lightweight, and fast absorbing, gel-like serum is filled with an array of healthy, antioxidant-rich botanicals, highly effective Swiss Garden Cress Liposomes and Peptides, Retinol, Resveratrol and Green Sea Algae– to name but a few of their potent, carefully selected ingredients. African Botanics Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum increases collagen synthesis, accelerates skin cell-turnover, plumps and reduces the appearance of fine lines, improves elasticity and tone, deeply nourishes and hydrates skin and it reveals luminous, youthful skin.

My skin appears refreshed, luminous, even in texture and skin-tone, lifted and ultra-hydrated. I simply massage a small amount into my face, neck, décolleté and under eye area and go to sleep, and when I awaken my skin appears as though I had a serious rejuvenating, anti-aging facial and peel. For the most incomprehensibly potent duo, I follow by using African Botanics Fleur d'Afrique Intensive Recovery Oil (Reviewed HERE), and once you try these two together, there really is no turning back. This serum is suitable for all skin types, and is non-comedogenic.

According to African Botanics,

Deeply-hydrating, potent and fast-acting botanical serum, compounded to help increase collagen synthesis, lift, firm the skin and help reduce fine lines while soothing and restoring balance to all skin types including environmentally stressed and sensitive skin. Formulated to refine, firm and tone the skin with powerful age-defying technology: a complex of Retinol, Resveratrol, Swiss Garden Cress Liposomes and Peptides. Sheer, weightless gel-like texture provides a tissue structuring effect, plumping, moisturizing and reinforcing the skin’s elasticity and tone. Calms, soothes, protects with antioxidants. Skin feels immediately comfortable and sustains less damage over time. Diminishes the damage and the appearance of sun-overexposure.

Age-Defying TECHNOLOGY: Retinol, Resveratrol, Swiss Garden Cress Lyposoms and Peptides help fight wrinkles, improve and correct the appearance of damaged skin caused by the sun, time and pollution. Reduce pore size and boost skin’s radiance. PREVENTS MOISTURE LOSS: Resurrection Plant, Green Sea Algae and Hyaluronic Acid help attract and hold water in the skin for long-lasting hydration. They intensify benefits of any moisturizer used with this serum. REDUCES MELANIN PRODUCTION by 67%: Swiss Garden Cress Lyposoms - rich in sulforaphane, a powerful antioxidant phytonutrient. Effectively inhibits melanin formation, provides exceptional brightening benefits and evens skin tone*. *Proven Efficacy in vitro study. Swiss Garden Cress and Green Sea Algae help minimize the appearance of existing dark spots and reduce melanin content at a cellular level.
Directions: Use PM only. Apply 2-3 pumps. Massage into cleansed damp skin: face, neck, and décolleté before applying an oil and/or hydrating cream if desired. Tap a small amount around the eye area.

  11. Why is this only for night? What do you use in the am in conjunction with the Recovery Oil? Thanks.

    1. Because of the Retinol. Generally, and with most retinoid-based products, it is suggested that the active nature in exfoliating, is best used at night when skin-cell turnover is the highest. It is also a good idea to use a high SPF sunscreen during the day when using products with retinol in them.

  12. I see. Thanks. I just started using this but I think it is making me break out. It's either this or the oil. I'm really to old for that to happen, so not sure what is happening.

    1. Hi Cindy, Were you breaking out when you used the oil alone? If so, it's probably not the oil. If it started with this, then try to spot test it alone somewhere on your face or neck to see if you are actually having an allergic reaction to this product. That's what I always do if I have any sort of reaction.
