While the cold weather is the perfect time to snuggle up and get cozy, it is also a time in which skin becomes dry and stressed. The extremes in temperature, marked by the radical juxtaposition of heated interior spaces and the cold outdoors, can wreak havoc on the skin. Whether one has seriously dry and/or eczema-prone skin, or just seasonal dry skin, it is imperative to use gentle, hydrating cleansers and moisturizers that soothe irritated skin. Curél created a line to address the needs of dry, itchy skin, and it has received a high rating from the National Eczema Association.

While I do not have eczema-prone skin, my skin has been unusually dry during the cold weather this season– making it the perfect time to test out the Curél Itch Defense Line.

According to Curél,

The Curél Itch Defense Line works to break the cycle of dry, itchy skin while providing long-lasting relief, even on the most sensitive, eczema prone skin! Start your routine with the Curél Itch Defense Body Wash, and moisturize throughout the day when you need it instantly thanks to the Curél Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray!

These two products work to break the cycle of dry, itchy skin while providing long-lasting relief even on the most sensitive, eczema prone skin!

Curél Itch Defense Body Wash is described by Curél as a, "powerfully calming and hydrating cleanser that breaks the pattern and lavishes on the calming moisture. It contains an innovative blend of cleansing agents mild enough for serious dryness and eczema-prone skin. The soap-free formula, made with a cationic ingredient, leaves skin especially soft. Prevent the itch before it even begins!"

Itch Defense Body Wash has a creamy and emollient lather that leaves skin silky smooth, soft, calm and moisturized. I initially feared that the inclusion of Sodium Laurel Sulfate would have been a bit drying on my skin, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was not. In fact, it is emollient and moisturizing enough that I find it to be very suitable for shaving my legs and sensitive underarms. This body wash has no discernible scent.

Curél Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray (shown above) is a, "non-medicated, moisturizing spray that instantly relieves dry, itchy skin with cooling hydration. Uniquely soothing, this formula delivers a mix of light yet potent hydrators — including a proprietary Ceramide Complex, Allantoin and Panthenol — to ease parched, itchy skin right where you need it. The Proprietary Cooling Complex feels soothing like a cold compress, lending you instant relief."

Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray is an ultra-emollient and richly moisturizing spray lotion that is fast absorbing and has a very soothing and calming effect on dry chapped skin.
