I receive lots of emails asking whether I can recommend a brightening product that can fade hyperpigmentation (sun spots), and as a result I thought that I would share my experience with the Equitance Brightening Serum + Spot Corrector. Equitance has an entire Brightening Collection that I have been testing out, and I will feature once I have finished using.
First, I should preface this by stating that I don't have much in the way of hyperpigmentation, but I am always looking for intensely brightening products. Some time ago, I did have a pronounced dark spot on the left side of my face that was nestled into my hairline, and I had my doctor burn off. She said it was from driving/commuting in the hot Southern California sun, and we decided it was better to remove it than give it the opportunity to turn into skin cancer. While I am diligent about using sunscreen, it was in a place that I didn't protect adequately, and the result was a sun spot.
If you have any hyperpigmentation that you are trying to treat, I urge you to see your doctor before trying to treat it with cosmetic products. While you may think that those spots are benign, they could, in fact, be pre-cancerous or cancerous lesions. and you certainly don't want to exacerbate the problem by treating it with topical products. When in doubt, always consult your doctor.
Equitance Brightening Serum + Spot Corrector was created to diminish the appearance of dark spots, uneven skin tone and overall dullness. Since hyperpigmentation isn't a big issue for me, I evaluated this serum on the basis of its ability to even overall skin tone, and brighten the skin.
The serum has a lightweight milky lotion consistency that is very fast absorbing. It sinks into the skin without leaving behind a greasy residue, and it leaves my combination skin feeling lightly hydrated. It has no discernible scent that will likely trigger fragrance sensitivities, and it doesn't cause any tingling or discomfort to the skin.
Once Equitance Brightening Serum + Spot Corrector sinks into the skin, I immediately notice that my skin appears more luminous and vibrant, but it was definitely after using it for a few weeks that I noticed that my skin was brighter and appeared a bit more even in tone. I definitely see a difference, and I really like the way that my skin looks and feels while using this serum, but I can't tell you whether it will fade sun spots. After using it for over a month, I definitely see a difference in my skin, and will continue to use it to see if the results become more pronounced over a more sustained period of use.
I think that the best way to try out the line is by purchasing the Trial Kit, shown below, since at $37.00 you can affordably sample the Brightening Line. The deluxe samples include this serum, and each one will provide you with enough to decide whether you want to purchase any of the full-size products.

Hi Ursula! I love radiant skin as well! I definitely agree, skin cancer is nothing to fool around with, and what may appear to be a normal sun spot may actually be skin cancer! It's always important to see the doctor/derm!Delete
