Lolapalooza: The Sephora VIB Edition Volume II

Purchased by Me (Affiliate Links)

As promised, I am posting my second Sephora VIB indulgence. I had to run over to Costco to pick up some essentials, and the pull of Sephora a few minutes away was simply too strong to resist. The lines were insane, and I am pretty sure three quarters of makeup wearing Los Angeles was standing in line with me.

I was looking for a sold-out Hourglass lip liner when the lovely Sales Associate's eyes grew wide and she began to effusively gush over the the Urban Decay Lip Liners that she said were creamy and dreamy to use. So off I went, and not only was her assessment accurate, but the colors were gorgeous. As I loitered, I began to play with a few more of their lip products, and I was so impressed by the quality and texture that the lure of a 20% discount caused me to grab a good assortment!
Here's what I came home with:

Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Naked (Regular Price $20.00): A gorgeous nude pink sheen!

Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Lovechild (Regular Price $20.00): A beautiful pale pink.

Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Apocalypse (Regular Price $20.00): A truly divine vampy deep plum.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Rush (Regular Price $20.00): A stupendous pink-mauve with soft pearl.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Native (Regular Price $20.00): A breathtaking baby pink.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Native (Regular Price $20.00): A lovely pale pink that is amazing with their Native Lip Pencil.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rapture (Regular Price $20.00): A stunningly beautiful dusty rose.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Stray Dog (Regular Price $18.00): A cool metallic ash brown that is definitely in the taupe family.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Suspect (Regular Price $18.00): A delectable pale golden beige shimmer.

Urban Decay Urban Obsessions Sephora Beauty Insider 500 POINTS PerkAll eyes will be on you with this set of Urban Decay’s statement-making powerhouses. From conservative daytime looks to serious glamour, these attention-getters for eyes have it covered.

Set includes:
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Skimp (0.02 oz)
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Bust (0.02 oz)
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Guilt (0.02 oz)
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Oil Slick (0.02 oz)
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero- black (0.03 oz)
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (1x use)
Bite BeautyHigh Pigment Pencil in Bouquet (Regular Price $24.00): This is a really pretty peachy pink.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer High Volume Lip Plumper (Regular Price $33.00): Lip Maximizer in sheer pink. I love this stuff and have purchased it several times before. It plumps nicely and leaves behind a soft sheer pale pink glossy hue!

I was also given an assortment of skincare and perfume samples. I am really quite excited about my purchases, and need to photograph them quickly since the impulse to use them is overwhelming me!

Did you go stark, raving mad at the Sephora VIB Sale? Did you go for seconds like I did, or did you avoid it altogether?

Lolapalooza: The Sephora VIB Sale Edition | November 2014

 Purchased by Me (Affiliate Links)

The Sephora VIB Sale is one of those rare events that simply makes beauty product obsessed people twitch in anticipation of receiving a 20% discount off of everything. While I often tell myself that I won't shop the event because I don't need a thing-- that seldom comes to pass because it's an amazing time to shop.

I tried to curb my spending, but I am still obsessing about a few more things, Here's what I got:

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette (Regular Price $58.00),  Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta (Regular Price $35.00), Bite Beauty Best Bite Remix (Regular Price $25.00 LE Holiday Set), Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Madiera (Regular Price $24.00), *Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eyeshadow #9 (Regular Price $32.00), Deborah Lippman Nail Lacquer Crème (Regular Price $18.00) and two Sephora Collection Z-Palettes (Regularly $28.00 each). I also received a couple of Yu-Be Moisturizing Cream samples which I love!

*Armani Beauty is only available at select Sephora locations, and is not available online. In the Los Angeles area one can find Armani at the Century City and Malibu locations.

The VIB Sale Ends on Monday, November 10!
Here's an unsolicited piece of advice about the Sephora VIB sale: make a list, prioritize, and set a realistic budget that you can live with. One thing to keep in mind is that if there are certain things that you have really been wanting, but they have felt out of your monetary comfort zone-- then the 20% discount goes a long way to making higher end "wants" within grasp. If you have always wanted a gadget like a Clarisonic or a NuFACE system then this is a good time to contemplate the purchase.

Hot selling luxury products like Guerlain Rouge G Lipsticks or the Limited Edition Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette and their Ambient Lighting Palette become far more affordable.  They have a huge selection of skincare products including a fairly sizable list of beauty oils. They have a seemingly endless number of excellent haircare and body care products, and more tools and perfumes than one can imagine!

Are you shopping the sale or are you passing? What's on your list? Do tell!

Beautiful Burberry Beauty Picks & an Extraordinary Gift with Purchase: Nordstrom Trend Event Topanga Canyon

As you all most assuredly know by now, my love for Burberry Beauty knows no bounds, and that I dream in their iconic Nova Checks should come as no surprise. Naturally all of my detailed reviews are forthcoming, as is my huge post covering the Trend Event--so stay tuned for much much more!
Inside all of those beautifully understated elegant packages one will find a sublime selection of iconic Nova Check-laden beauties that will undoubtedly leave you swooning. However, their beauty is far from skin deep. Burberry Beauty makes some of the very highest quality luxury products that I have ever tried. Furthermore, their collection is one of the most cohesive, brilliantly conceived, and well-edited makeup lines on the market today. This line categorically earns the highest marks straight across the board, and it is one of the few brands to which I am steadfastly devoted. There are many Burberry surprises on the horizon that will leave you speechless, and I will begin revealing them as soon as I am given the okay. For now, be assured that Blossom and Earthy Light Glow Natural Blushes, and Pale Barley Sheer Eye Shadow will be back later this year!

All purchased by me. Unaffiliated links provided for your convenience.

Lolapalooza Extravaganza: Pure Unmitigated Excess!

I realize that I went a little crazy with these purchases, but I was one very lucky girl because nearly all of these products were paid for with gift cards that I had been saving for the things that I really wanted.
You knew that there was no escaping the purchase of lip products- given my proclivities- it is simply a byproduct of my lip product fetish!
Are any of your recent purchases taking your breath away? Do tell!

Mega Lolapalooza: Burberry and Le Métier de Beauté, Oh My!!

This is what happens when you fall in love with certain products, lack a certain measure of self control, have lots of gift cards, and hear the magical words gift with purchase. Is this unmitigated insanity? Sure.  Burberry and LMdB gluttony? Absolutely. Am I a card-carrying member of the coalition for makeup magpies? Undoubtedly.

Lolapalooza: The Damage That I did at the Sephora V.I.B. Sale!!!!!!!

I decided that the most appropriate way to describe my shopping adventures during events the likes of the Sephora V.I.B. sale or the Barneys Bag Event is to call them Lolapalooza-- since for me it really is a happy type of festival, and I arguably hear music when roused by these events. So with that said, here are the things that I brought home from my most recent Lolapalooza!

I had a few gift cards with decent balances on them to mitigate the damage that I did- so I came out relatively unscathed. I really didn't need anything, but I really wanted to get a bottle of the Caudalie Divine Oil that I ostensibly bathe myself in every single time I walk into Sephora. I figured that it was time to just break down and get a bottle of this deliciously luxurious oil, and I am so happy that I did. For some reason I walked out of there with more haircare products than I had intended, but I am ever on the lookout things that work well for my finicky naturally curly hair. I had been meaning to swing by Chaz Dean's Salon on Fountain Avenue in Hollywood for the last few years, but I always manage to forget to go despite the fact that it easily accessible. Therefore, when I saw WEN at Sephora I finally grabbed a bottle of the Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner. Ouidad products have been on my list to try for a while, but when one of the Sephora sales associates gushed over my whacked-out spiral locks-literally as I was leaving the store- he said that he had a pile of samples that he wanted me to try. He was so sweet, and the products felt so good that I grabbed one of the sets and headed back to the growing line at the register. Cha-Ching!
I had just about run out of my beloved FutureDerm Time-Release Retinol 0.5% (review forthcoming), and needed something quickly so I decided to try Glow by Dr. Brandt since I have heard favorable things about it, and I wanted to try a 2% concentration of retinol.

All I can say is just you wait to see the gorgeous color of this Guerlain KissKiss Gloss-- yes, I hear you-- I need another lip gloss like I need a a hole in the head, but please-- this was too gorgeous to pass up. You know I'm a magpie at heart and need to bring these pretty shiny things back to my nest to fawn over them.
I also have wanted a few of the Hourglass lipsticks for a while, but settled on a single gorgeous shade. Now does that show self restraint, or what? I was clutching a handful of them in one hand while the other arm was a ridiculously swatched up mess-- so coming out with a single shade was a feat of self-control that cannot be sufficiently underscored!
That sums up the extent to which I engaged in the reverie of my Lolapalooza. Did you partake or refrain?
