Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No.002 | Review and Swatches

I have long held that Burberry Beauty makes superior quality products, and their eye shadows have been among my favorites since I began using them years ago. My latest Burberry eye shadow acquisition, Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No. 002, has proven to be my favorite shadow from the line.

Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No. 002 ($29.00 from BurberrySephoraNordstromSaks Fifth Avenue and Net-A-Porter): Nude No. 002 is, in my estimation, the perfect shade of cool-toned taupe with a gorgeous luminosity and sheen. The formula is ultra-finely milled, it feels creamy to the touch, and it glides across the skin effortlessly as it deposits color evenly. It is long-wearing, and for me doesn't even require a primer for all-day wear. However, if you have particularly oily eyelids, I would recommend the use of a primer. It can be worn wet, or dry, but my personal preference is dry since I don't feel to amplify the luminosity by creating a foiled effect. If, however, you seek a more pronounced metallic effect, then applying Nude No. 002 with a damp brush delivers a  gorgeous and dramatic metallic sheen.

According to Burberry Beauty,

A highly blendable powder eye shadow that gives an effortless wash of luminous, highlighting color.  This lightweight, talc-free powder shadow blends highly pigmented color with light-reflecting particles. The smooth texture gently glides onto the lid for an even application and delivers an effortless wash of luminous, highlighting color. The versatile formula gives multiple results: apply it with a dry brush for an even wash of color or wet for vibrant intensity. Wear alone or mix and match with Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow.

Isn't this the perfect shade of cool-toned taupe ?!

Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Midnight BrownBurberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Pale Barley and Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No. 002 I own all three, but my Midnight Brown and Pale Barley are the original formula. If I could own only one, I would select Nude No. 002. Nude No. 002 differs from Midnight Brown and Pale Barley because it is from Burberry's Glow Shadow formula, whereas the other two are from the Silk Shadow formula. I personally am very drawn to Nude No. 002 because I think it is a perfect shade of taupe with a stunning luminosity and sheen. If I had to pick one, it would be Nude No. 002, but Midnight Brown and Pale Barley remain gorgeous staples in my eye shadow wardrobe.

  2. Gorgeous twins! how is life in sunny LA for you my darling? Here the weather has not yet anchored itself. The sun is elusive.
Work is almost done for the semester and I cannot wait for it to be over. It was a pretty horrendous semester. Dare I say the worst of them all? How is academia treating you these days? I hope your life full of art and makeup makes you feel whole <3 I take solace on my books and on the return of Game of Thrones!
I still haven't purchased any eye shadows, not even burberry really. My laziness knows no boundaries. Foundation, powder, highlighter, mascara, contour, and off I go. I have been promising my husband some dark smokey eyes for a year already (he loves the look) but alas, laziness is stronger.
I am planning my next month's makeup adventures already and I think I'll go the chanel route: all chanel everything on my face. My makeup obsessions will bring me both ruin and happiness. I emphasize the happiness in spite of my wallet's ruin, such is life!
    How are your furry babies?
I'm sending you my warmest wishes my sweet friend and a big hug to you and your lovely family,
    xxxxxx

    1. Hello my darling academic/cosmic twin! It's been sunny for the most part, but we are supposed to have rain later in the week. Of course on a day that I will have to be walking from one end of campus to the other. Hopefully the weather warms up for you, and formally announces the change of the season.

It's been a very busy quarter. I am buried in thesis chapter revisions some of my grad students, and the undergrad research papers are almost due so it's time for lots of extra office hours. Like you, I had to deal with several cases of plagiarism, and hopefully I won't have any more cases this quarter. We are only half of the way through the quarter, but it's going to really pick up momentum after this week.

I am with you about the return of The Game of Thrones! Between that and the return of Orphan black, I am deliriously happy! I am not convinced that Jon Snow is really dead!!

Have you plotted what you are going to buy from the Chanel collection? I know what you mean about the ruin and happiness that this obsession brings! Oh, the crying wallet!

Are you still living in the same place? Any progress on adopting a kitty? I hope that you are both doing well! xoxoxoxox

  3. I want to get the whole Chanel Hydra beauty and the Les Beiges makeup range, including the cc, all of it. I am neither a blush nor a bronzer wearer by any means so I'll skip those. I'm nervous about the mascara since my eyelashes are depressingly straight and rarely I stray away from my trusty Japanese jewels. But I have to be consistent, right? ;)
I'm still leaving in the same place. I'll be teaching 3 courses next semester which I have never done before so I'm very nervous.
We are leaving for my country soon and will spend there 3 months so no kitty yet. This is always my issue since I moved to this country. I know I spend long periods of time away and no kitty is happy with that. It breaks my heart to deterritorialize a kitty (terrible use of the term, I know! :)
Well, besides the plagiarism I have had all sorts of gender issues ufff and overall poor student behavior. It is painful for me because I truly care about teaching.
I have never watched orphan black. I'll check it out. Like you, I am not convinced or don't want to be convinced that John Snow is dead. Maybe the red woman has to do something? Someone do something please! I have a strange (reversed) Venus in Fur crush on him. John Snow with his black fur under the snow makes me too happy for words :)
    Happy week my darling friend.

    1. What gorgeous Chanel picks! If you are nervous about the mascara then skip it and use one that is tried and true for you.

I hope that you are liking where you are living better now, and that the deplorable human (neighbor/manager) is no longer so unpleasant! 3 classes in a semester is a heavy load, but you will be fine. Pace yourself! Do you have any teaching assistants who will be grading some of this for you? I am teaching two 2 1/2 hour classes in a row with only a 20 minute break between them, but one class is lower division and I have a TA to do the grading for me. The other, is an upper division seminar- for which I have no reader or TA– so I expect that it will be a pretty exhausting term.

I hope that you have a lovely 3 month visit back home! Your family will be so happy to see you! Deterritorializing a kitty is an awesome way to think about it! Still, any kitty who is adopted by you would be one very lucky kitty!

I feel with you about the whole plagiarism situation. It seems as though I have to deal with it nearly every term, and it is heartbreaking, and such a senseless time drain! How horrible that you have had to deal with horrible student behavior as well. I have had a few situations with behavioral issues that we unbelievable! I know what you mean– when you care about teaching as we do, and yet have to deal with some of these situations–it can be quite disenchanting!

You have to check out Orphan Black (on BBC) it is a brilliant show! I love it as much as The Game of Thrones! They certainly left it a touch open-ended as to whether out not Jon now is actually dead. I just hope that he is in some sort of suspended animation. LOL! I totally understand your crush, and share it!

Have a lovely week as well!xoxoxoxox

  8. Hey Lola, i love eye shadow even though when I was younger I had no clue how to use it...once I put on blue eye shadow thinking I could pull of a sexy look...little did I know that when you're someone who never puts makeup on you tend to stand out more when you do - not in a, oh you look good kind of way but - oh you look like someone beat you up :P but I digress, this was in Syria and it was a while ago...I actually also remember a woman at my school who made artisanal jewelry...blue bracelets, she was a cleaner at the school but she also enjoyed making those crafts..,I thought they were kind of ugly at the time, but she gave me one that day which kind of made me feel better (but also crappy coz I was a brat haha) looking back though, I kind of admire her creativity and positivity...it was probably because she would make those braclets...I wonder sometimes, the difference between a high fashion designer and a Syrian cleaning lady...creating their own unique clothing or accessory...I think, there's a fundamentally similar joy in it....except the outcomes are so clearly different - one life-changing passion and another much smaller experience...I'm wondering, do you prefer generally looking at larger brands? It's part of my thesis so I guess it's on my mind even though I'm supposed to be taking a break from writing.... ive kind of rambled off a bit...but yeah

    1. Hi nwarhabalaba

What is the topic of your thesis? Are you an undergraduate or graduate student?

I do not necessarily prefer larger brands. Instead, I seek high quality products irrespective of brand size. There are plenty of smaller brands creating exquisite products!
