A longtime reader asked me to swatch Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Midnight BrownBurberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Pale Barley and Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Glow Shadow in Nude No. 002 side by side to help her determine which of the three to buy. She also asked me which one I would buy, if I could only select one. I own Midnight Brown and Pale Barley in the original formula, but I do not own Nude No. 002– and for this reason alone I would select Nude No. 002. That said, Nude No. 002 differs from Midnight Brown and Pale Barley because it is from Burberry's Glow Shadow formula, whereas the other two are from the Silk Shadow formula. I personally am very drawn to Nude No. 002 because I think it is a perfect shade of taupe with a stunning luminosity and sheen. If I had to pick one, it would be Nude No. 002, but make no mistake about it– Midnight Brown and Pale Barley are gorgeous staples in my eye shadow wardrobe.

  1. Midnight Brown and Pale Barley are two of my favorite eyeshadows. But now I'm going to want Nude. I think I like their singles more than I like their palettes. I get so much use from MB and PB but not my palettes.

    1. Midnight Brown and Pale Barley are two of my all-time favorite eyeshadows as well. I actually like Nude 002 better than either of them. The color is a perfect taupe, and the sheen and shimmer adds more dimension. I haven't purchased it yet, but it's definitely at the top of my list. I tend to use singles more than palettes as well. Though I will say, as you know, that TF Nude Dip is the exception. That is my all-time favorite palette!

  2. my gorgeous one! I am in Burberry kick lately. Burberry everything on my face but, lazy me, had never ventured into the eye shadow realm. I am too lazy to wear eye makeup. Is this post telling me I have to go and get these? And that gold cuteness in a pot from the velvet and lace collection? Yes? maybe, right?
I am in love with the velvet and lace campaign <3
Sending you hugs, love, and my best wishes for you and your perfectly furry family.

    1. Hello, my darling! A Burberry kick is a nice kick, indeed! I am lazy when it comes to eye shadow as well. I generally only do a wash of color and some eye liner, and mascara if I am in the mood. Burberry definitely makes some of my favorite single shadows, and if you want a nice eye shadow then these are great. If I had to pick just one of these, it would definitely be Nude 002.

Yes, that is one gorgeous campaign! I haven't purchased any of the pieces (YET).

How are you? How is school?? xoxox

  3. Nude No. 2 would be my pick. Very interesting, the wet and dry. I've never used a shadow wet except to use it as a liner. Gotta try that sometime!

    1. For the longest time I thought that Pale Barley, Midnight Brown and Rosewood were the best shadows in the world, but I definitely prefer Nude #002. It's at the top of my must-buy list!
