NEW!!! Burberry Summer Splash Palettes in Midday Sun No. 01, Hot Tropic No. 02 & Fresh Glow in Bronze

My friend Evelyn, who has an amazing jewelry blog called IntoTemptation (check it out!), was walking through Holt Renfrew the other day, and when she happened upon the Burberry counter she discovered the new Burberry Summer Collection. She very generously sent me pictures and thoughts to share with you. If you live in Canada-- run, don't walk to Holt Renfrew! Thank you Evelyn!!!!!

Here are Evelyn's observations,

The creams spread well with either a brush or your finger. I had them on all day and no creasing, fading or patchiness and it's very humid here today. They will smudge if you rub your eye.

There was good color payoff with one pass of the brush though I found the light turquoise on palette 1 applied more sheerly. It built up well, though.

The dark brown in palette 2 reminds me of the dark cream shadow Tom Ford did for his first Estée Lauder collection.

The Fresh Glow is darker in the bottle than it photographed. The small pump of it on my hand is fairly true to color. It looks very shimmery when blended out but that was a lot if product on the back of my hand. On the face it's sheer, a pretty bronze tint with some shimmer. Not off putting. I wore it today with the original Burberry foundation over top and it probably would work better blended in to foundation or as a highlighter. I have the liquid Chanel Soleil Tan which is slightly lighter and cooler toned on me. (I wear Vitalumiere in 20 or Lingerie de Peau in 3.)

I got tons of compliments today on the ES. I used colors from both palettes and patted Pale Gold in the centre of the lid.

*Note: These have not been released in the US yet. I had not yet heard about the eye shadow palettes, or whether we will receive them, but will update you as soon as I receive word.

  1. Burberry did a low awareness campaign on this- I see brands already releasing or promoting fall collections - is Burburry confused or am I?
Pretty tho'- would love to get my hands on the Hot Tropic palette.

    1. I was told by Burberry that there was going to be a summer collection months ago, but it definitely does not seem to have been widely publicized. I kept checking their website and never saw any announcement. As I understand it- Burberry is going to be having a stunning Fall Collection including beautiful nail polishes! Hot Tropic may have to be mine as well! :D

  7. Hi Helen :)
Thanks to your friend for providing us lovely swatches. These look very interesting. I'd have to definitely swatch these in person & see the quality of the cream shadows considering I have quite oily lids. I'm excited to see this, but at the same time a bit sad that we will have to wait longer for Burberry's Fall collection items to be released! lol...really want them nail polishes & new lip mist shades, just last week I called Jason at Topanga asking him when they might get it in, even though I know you will be kind enough to let us know. I feel like I've been waiting for months for it to be released since seeing your post on it though I know that's not true! lol

    1. Hi Naomi <3

I need to see them in person as well-- I am so curious to see and feel the cream shadows-- it's such a new concept for Burberry! I agree with you though-- I am especially excited about seeing the Fall Collection-- it does feel as though we have been waiting for al long time. I will definitely post what I learn about it as soon as I hear more.

Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July!! xoxox, Helen

    1. Hi Anya! They are gorgeous, and I think well worth going and seeing in person! You and me both-- I already have so many eyeshadows that I never wear! They have to really wow me before I am willing to buy more! xx
