My February 2013 Skincare Temptations!

Beautysets - Temptations
My skincare product cravings continue to lead me to seek the best products on the market, and these are a few of the things that have been on my mind lately:

Chantecaille Rice & Geranium Foaming Cleanser is "an extremely softening and gently exfoliating cleanser." I have been using a sample, and this is such a lovely cleanser that it is now on my list. I have used it with and without my Clarisonic, and it leaves my combination skin soft, supple and very clean without being stripped.

själ saphir concentrate anti aging face oil is a "'liquid silk’ treatment blend of rare essential oils and an anti-aging bioactive complex designed to visibly diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, increase elasticity, plump and revitalize skin. Infused with Himalayan blue sapphires and aquamarine." I have been using a tiny little sample of this, and this is an amazing quality oil. It is feather-light and sinks in quickly, but the way that my skin glows afterward is nothing short of astounding. This has an über luxury price tag, but I am really really tempted to buy it.

Chantecaille Jasmine & Lily Healing Mask is "a cooling, hydrating mask that doubles as a calming night cream. Ideal first aid for irritated, sunburned, wind-chapped or jet-lagged skin." This winter weather has caused my combination skin to be uncharacteristically dehydrated and dry- between the cold air outside and the heated interiors my skin needs all the help that it can get. I have a couple little samples of this lovely mask, and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated, therefore it is the perfect antidote to the winter dry skin blues.

Kiehl's Rosa Arctica Anti-Aging Rejuvenating Eye Cream "This anti-aging eye balm is infused with rare 'Resurrection Flower' to re-energize skin for visibly younger-looking eyes." This eye cream has natural brighteners that are supposed to instantly smooth and illuminate the area around the eyes. Kiehl's claims that it will fortify the under-eye area making it visibly smoother and firmer.  I have not yet tried this product, but have heard lovely things about it, and am now curious to try it.

By Terry Baume de Rose SPF 15 "This melt-away balm, which has become the must-have of Hollywood stars, BY TERRY's über-cult product, is a real ultra-glamorous SOS treatment to repair, nourish, regenerate and lastingly protect the lips. This ultra-rich product is also a precious salve to care for and strengthen the cuticles." I tried this at SpaceNK, and am now haunted by it!! I have been trying to resist it, but my resolve is growing weaker by the day!

Natura Bissé  Diamond Bio Lift Eye Contouring Cream is "an extraordinary cream designed for the eye contour area formulated with energizing, regenerating and decongestant ingredients that activate micro-circulation. Provides a long-lasting bio-regenerating lifting effect that instantly tightens the skin, resulting in a beautiful and youthful appearance." I have used several products from Natura Bissé's Diamond line, but have not tried the Bio Lift Eye Contouring Cream. I would really like to give this eye cream a try.

själ pearl enzyme exfoliating mask (reviewed here) is "a gentle dual-mask that exfoliates topically and enzymatically. Containing two pearls, one for brightening and the other for exfoliation. Powerful natural enzymes and multi-fruit acids remove dead skin while sapphire and diamond promote clarity and luminosity." I had a generous sample of this exfoliator, and really loved the way that it made my skin look and feel. The price was the only problem because it is quite expensive, but that certainly doesn't stop me from wanting a jar (which I would truly covet).

What are your skincare products temptations right now?

    1. Hi piellebaby! It's really lovely!! They have sample packets-- I would recommend asking for one to see if you like it! Have a wonderful Monday! :-)

  2. While i love Kiehl's and the Rosa Arctica line (the normal cream as well as the lightweight version) i absolutely hated the eye cream. I suggest you get a sample first and see how it works for you :)
You've made some lovely choices in your list. Please do come back and tell us how it worked out for you.

    1. THanks for your honest assessment of their eye cream! I will definitely request a sample first! I want to try the lightweight version of the cream, but the normal version was way too rich for my combination skin- I ended up using it on my neck and hands! :-)

  3. I have the Kiehls and just started using it so I can't quite comment on it. I like the first few days of it. I'm going to give it more time before a review.

    1. I want to hear your take. I am prone to milia under my eyes if creams are too rich-- so I very much look forward to your review! :-)

  4. Oh my, lol, I have used and/or have ALL these products, lololol. To be honest, I was not impressed with the By Terry Balm or the Kiehls eyecream; neither performed as well (if at all) as the reviews/accolades had led me to believe they would.

The Chantecaille cleanser is amazing... SO GENTLE yet effective and the mask is wonderful for sensitive skin, those of us with redness/hot flashes, etc. A little goes a LONG way with both and are worth every penny. I have a tube of the cleanser in my shower and it's going on at least a year.

The Natura Bisse made my eye area red which surprised me because I've used other products (and still do) within this line without issue. Eyes are the one area I have to be careful with so I hate to say "don't try something" just because my eyes are sensitive. Yet, it also isn't inexpensive so get a sample if you can.

Sjal is my favorite line : ) I have nothing but love for the company and the products and have every single one of them in my bathroom as we speak. The oil is divine, the mask leaves your skin glowing without being rough. I follow it up with the sapphire mask and my skin feels like silk.

The best thing of all is EVERY one of these products can be incorporated into any regime/line you are using. With the Barney Bag event coming, it's a great time to consider adding them to your collection : )

I applaud you on your excellent choice of temptations!

    1. WOW!!! Are we on the same page, or what?!!!

I wholeheartedly agree about the Chantecaille cleanser, and the mask really is so lovely- though I only have used it a couple of times.

Interesting that the Natura Bisse irritated your eye area-- I also have sensitive eyes- so that is definitely making me think twice-- I will try to get a sample!

Själ is definitely a lovely line. Their oil has really captured my interest, and I am savoring every single drop of my sample. The Pearl Enzyme Exfoliating Mask is such a wonderful product, and I also really like the light cream for combination skin. I have a sample of the sapphire mask- I will try it this week. Your love of the line makes me want to buy all of the products!! Oh, and yes the bag event is the perfect time to pick up some of these lovelies. I'm trying to shorten my list!!!

      :-)

    1. Hi Joyce, I can't wait to hear what you think about it! As you know, I can't use super heavy and rich eye creams because they tend to give me milia- so I will be very curious to hear what you think abou tthis after you have used it for a while! :-)

  6. Such nice products! How would you compare the sjal face oil to the Olio Lusso one? I'm trying to put my list together for the upcoming Barneys event and I'm so temped with too many things :) Thanks for the wonderful work you do!

    1. Hi Mona,

I'm so glad that you like my choices!!! It is premature for me to be able to really compare the själ face oil to Rodin Olio Lusso. Olio Lusso is tried and true and miraculous for my skin, and I have been using it long enough to see real benefits. the själ oil is really really nice from my very limited experience. I have been savoring a tiny perfume sample sized vial, and it was only enough for a couple of days. Therefore I can't speak to long term effects and benefits with my skin. That said, it sinks in quickly, really moisturizes my skin, and leaves it soft and glowing. However, that is also true of Olio Lusso. I would have to use the själ oil a lot longer to know whether I think it is as effective as Olio Lusso. So far in my experience, nothing has worked as well as Olio Lusso. I don't know whether I will ultimately love själ as much or possibly more than Olio Lusso until I have used it for at least 4-6 weeks.

Thanks you so much for your kind words, and you are most welcome-- it is truly my pleasure!

    2. PBI... I've used both and for me, the Sjal one wins hands down. However, my reasoning is that the Olio Lussa left my face... darker? Sounds odd but Sunday Rileys does also... yet the Sjal one does not. I also prefer the scent (or lack there of) of the Sjal. I do use the Olio Lussa at night.

I have to say that between these two, By Terry's, ISKIN, Dr. Sebaghs... they're really all excellent. The big difference is the scent and the color; otherwise they all work. : )

    3. That's so odd that the Rodin & SR oils darken your face! I wonder if there is some sort of light refracting quality from the sapphires in the själ oil that prevents that from happening? given that, it certainly makes more sense to use Olio Lusso at night!

      Thanks for your take!!!!!! :-)

    1. Hi Nicolle!!!

SUCH LOVELY choices!! A good mud mask that isn't drying is a tough find given how drying kaolin can be. Are you looking for deep pore cleaning? xoxox

      Delete
    2. Yes, a deep pore cleaning one would be nice! I like the feeling of a cold mud mask on my face. I looked at the one from Revive but I am not sure I want to spend $185?!! I know NARS has one as well.

    3. The only mud mask that I have is one that was made by Erno Laszlo that appears to have been discontinued when they repackaged the line and got rid of lots of products. I haven't tried the one by Revive, but $185.00 is a lot of money!!!! I don't know anything about the one from NARS. I am going to keep on the lookout. I did try two different Umbrian Clay Masks from Fresh about a year ago (I got several samples, and I liked them both). One is in a tube, and one looks like a bar of soap-- you might ask for samples at Sephora.

  8. one more thing! Get the By Terry Baume de Rose :) it is totally worth it! I have it and use it morning and night. Although, I don't have to use much in the am because my lips still feel moist. This has replaced my Fresh lip balms....can't compete. It is also great because it doesn't just "slip" off unlike some lip balms. I have the one in the pot but next time I am going to get the one that comes in a lip gloss tube.

  9. Never have used these products before but I have heard some of them. Based on your reviews, they seem like great products to try out. I am interested in the foaming cleanser since I love skin care products that can make the skin supple, smooth and younger looking.

I also always love finding products that leave my skin radiant!! :D
