Lipstick Queen Eden Lipstick is the perfect red lipstick this winter, and it is a great choice for just about everyone– including people who find red lipsticks daunting. The shade is aptly described as a "juicy semi-sheer apple red" with a twist of "a magical apple green, holographic shimmer." The shimmer, however, is quite subtle in its ability to add dimension without appearing glittery. 

The texture is lightweight and emollient, thanks to the naturals oils  from the sunflower seed, meadow foam seed and olive oil, leaving the lips very moisturized, soft and supple. Antioxidant-rich ingredients such as Vitamin E coupled with nourishing Shea Butter and Mango Seed offer the perfect amount of cushion and hydration for comfortable wear. 

The semi-sheer glossy finish offers buildable coverage, therefore this beautiful lipstick can be sheered out for a wash of color, or built up for greater opacity. It neither settles into lip lines, nor does it bleed, and when it does fade, it does so evenly leaving behind traces of the shimmer and a very light stain. Because of its emollience it isn't as long-wearing as formulas that boast full opaque coverage, nonetheless I get several hours of wear before needing to reapply Eden.

If you love wearing red lipsticks an lip glosses, or would like to this New Year's Eve, then check out these affordable beauties from RIMMEL London.

RIMMEL LONDON Oh My Gloss Lip Gloss in Rebel Red ($5.40 from Target, KMart and Walgreens): Their Oh My Gloss! Lip glosses were made with me in mind: the colors are gorgeous and highly saturated, they contain the perfect amount of shimmer and shine, and have a lightweight, non-sticky texture. Furthermore, they are very comfortable on the lips, and they are lightly moisturizing. The doe-foot applicator applies the gloss evenly, and it neither migrates, nor does it bleed into lip lines. I get a few hours of wear-time per application, and repeated application throughout the day does not result in drying out my lips.  It has a light semi-floral scent that is not heavily perfumed, and the scent fades soon upon application.

RIMMEL LONDON Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate in Muse Red and Idol Red ($5.49 from Target, Ulta and Walmart): RIMMEL LONDON claims that you will get 8 hours of wear out of these lipsticks, but as an avid water and coffee drinker I don't experience that level of longevity. There is also a sheen to these pretty lipsticks that means that there is more transfer to my cup as I sip my water and coffee throughout the day. I will say that the formula feels fantastic and hydrating on my lips, and it boasts excellent pigmentation in a single pass. 

These lipsticks have the same fruity scent that Rimmel London Lipsticks are known for, and while I don't find it overpowering– people who prefer fragrance-free lipsticks may want to smell them first to see if it is too much for them.

RIMMEL LONDON Lipstick Lips The Only 1 in Best of the Best, Under My Spell, One-Of-A-Kind and Oh-So-Wicked ($6.99 from Target, Ulta and Walmart): These are absolutely stunning long-lasting moisturizing lipsticks that have a gorgeous sheen, and are ultra-comfortable on the lips. They are deeply saturated and are available is a nice selection of stunning colors. These lipsticks have a fruity floral scent that differs from their regular lipsticks, but I do find that it fades after a while.
