I Was Just Nominated For 3 More Awards: 2 Liebster Awards and The Versatile Blogger Award!

I am so humbled and grateful that three of my most gracious and venerated fellow beauty bloggers have all simultaneous bestowed such wonderful awards upon my blog. It will take me a little while to contemplate all of the questions, and in turn nominate other fantastic bloggers. While I need some time to post and nominate for three separate awards, I wanted to publicly thank and acknowledge them for their generosity and thoughtfulness while I work on this task!

11 Facts about me

1. Dusk is my favorite time of the day.

2. A few years ago I sat alone for almost 2 hours looking at Leonardo da Vinci's Burlington House Cartoon in that small room in the Sainsbury Wing at the National Gallery, London. It was an unreal and transformative experience being able to soak it in without anyone else present. Time basically stopped.

3. I have a penchant for lip glosses, and have over 100 of them.

4. The older that I get the more that I understand the importance of nurturing friendships.

5. I don't like umbrellas, and still like jumping in puddles- rather than avoiding them.

6. My sister is my best friend. She has more pairs of shoes than I have lip glosses. 

7. Generally speaking, I spend more money on skincare than I do on makeup.

8. I have WAY too many pink blushes and lip products, but I really love them all.

9. I try to live in an environmentally responsible way. I really try to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Sometimes it's not easy being Green. For instance I drive a hybrid, but I realize that disposing of their batteries is anything but green!

10. Continually learning new things excites me.

11.The most impressive famous person that I have ever met and spoken with is Elie Wiesel- it was a life changing event for me.

1. What is your all time favourite perfume? Right now it's definitely Kai Perfume Oil.

2. Is your hair naturally curly, wavy, frizzy straight or somewhere in between? Naturally very curly!

3. Do you have any hobbies? Beauty blogging!

4. If on a desert island, what beauty product would you NEED to have? (Original, I know..) A very effective high SPF moisturizer/sunscreen!

5. Why did you become a blogger? As a pleasant diversion from academic research and writing.

6. What is your favourite high street clothing store? I don't really have a favorite.

7. Is there a certain beauty product you use, that you refuse to change?  E.G. Certain moisturiser. Rouge Bunny Rouge Eye Shadows and Susan Thompson Cosmetics Creamy Lipsticks.

8. What is your favourite chain restaurant? I don't really have one.

9. What mascara are you currently using? MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash Mascara in Black.

10. What is the most expensive beauty product you have ever bought? Sunday Riley Stimulant Serums.

11. Where in the world is your favourite place? It's between London and Paris. It's really too hard to choose!

Lola's Secret Beauty Blog is a Liebster Blog Award Recipient!!

So for those of you who do not know what Liebster means, it's a German word meaning "Dearest." The award is given to up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers who deserve some recognition and support to keep blogging. Because frankly, blogging is not an easy thing to do and it's nice to be appreciated and supported by your fellow bloggers!

Drivel About Frivol- this is one of the greatest blogs that has served as a constant source of inspiration and awe since I began blogging. Kate (The Driveller) has a nuanced sense of style that is extraordinarily refined, unexpected, and original. It simply doesn't get any better than this! She deserves another award for the best and most clever blog name of all time! She is a true original and an innovator! Her blog is a treat to behold.

Everyday Beauty- Zuzu*s Petals is one of the most extraordinary bloggers that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her blog is no run-of-the-mill beauty blog that is simply a rampant swatch-fest of the newest collections. Instead, she employs cultivated journalistic skill to every article she writes. She crafts each insightful and thought-provoking essay with the deft-precision of a surgeon- building her argument and getting to the point with great clarity of purpose. Her photographs are artistic and anything but ordinary or haphazard- instead each one functions as a beautifully arranged still-life. She has been one of my greatest sources of inspiration as a blogger and a friend. Having blogged longer than I, Zuzu has helped me along the way- giving advice and encouragement-- not to mention prominently featuring me on her blog, and by leaving fantastic and thoughtful comments on mine when lola's secret beauty blog was a much bigger secret. Everyday Beauty is unquestionably one of the best beauty blogs out there!

Eyeliner on a Cat- Carrie Meredith's blog features both perfume and beauty product reviews that are simply extraordinary. Her writing is insightful, funny and always informative. Her perfume descriptions are so thorough and compelling that you would swear that you could smell the scents she discusses from her descriptions alone! Her blog is clever and witty- which can be exemplified by a fantastic post in which she associates fragrances to classic film characters and prefaces it by declaring her "jubilation for strange associations and randomness transformed into logic." Seriously awesome!! This is an extraordinary blog that everyone should have in their blogroll!

Rola's Fountain of Youth- Rola and I began blogging at about the same time, and found each other early on in our mutual blogging adventures. She was one of the first people to find my blog and leave comments- which is always a thrill when your blog is a wee baby. Her fantastic blog features carefully selected posts that are always informative and fun to read. Her photographs and assessments are always top notch, and thoroughly enjoyable to soak up!

Savoring Every Bit- Jackie is a Los Angeles blogger who, like Rola, discovered my blog at the very beginning of my blogging journey. Her reviews and "current obsessions" always feature drool-worthy things ranging from drugstore finds to the most luxurious products. Her pictures are fantastic and her articles are always fun to read! 

I found it immensely difficult to narrow my selection down to only five bloggers, but my final selections reflect the bloggers who have inspired me since I started this blog (and have ever since). All five blogs are still relatively young, but vary in their levels of exposure- however all five have been sources of great inspiration for me from the beginning of my beauty blogging journey. These blogs are absolutely fantastic and worthy of attention!
