Hydroxatone Anti-Aging BB Cream Review & Swatches

That I have rather limited experience with BB Creams generally does not stop me from recognizing that Hydroxatone has a really good one. I tend to be a tinted moisturizer, sheer foundation kind of girl, and this product fits right into my comfort zone in that way. Additionally, I am taken by the concept that their BB Cream has anti-aging skincare benefits- which is always a plus in my book.

My experience: First of all, the texture is very creamy and silky, and it feels fantastic on my skin. It is very hydrating for my combination skin, but I do not use it in lieu of my regular moisturizer. The coverage is light to medium and buildable, but I doubt that you will be able to achieve full coverage. I really like that it contains an SPF of 40, but I do still apply my regular sunscreen beneath the BB Cream. My skin looks fantastic when I wear this BB Cream- it imparts a beautiful radiance, a clarity, and an unmistakable smooth and healthy appearance. While it does last all day, I do have to reapply a little when I reapply my regular sunscreen on the days that I am outside and exposed to the sun. When I do remove it at the end of the day, I do notice that my skin continues to look radiant, soft and smooth. I cannot comment on the long term anti-aging benefits because I have not yet used it long enough to make a determination in that respect. However, the Vitamin C coupled with the antioxidant rich formula is undoubtedly responsible for the radiance that I see when I wear this BB Cream. 

For someone who prefers a full coverage foundation, this would make a lovely tinted primer on the days that you desire full coverage and added protection. However, on those days when you prefer less coverage- then this BB Cream will fit the bill all by itself. Tinted moisturizer fans will likely be as thrilled with this BB Cream as I am.

Overall assessment: This is a really lovely BB Cream. I love the way that it makes my skin look and feel. I find it to be quite concentrated- therefore I use it rather sparingly, but I do prefer the lighter coverage of tinted moisturizers. This is a solid performer that is well worth your consideration. I will definitely be using this entire tube, and will repurchase it once I finish.

It is a very moisturizing and emollient cream that glides on the skin with ease and absorbs quickly. The consistency is rather thick and rich in feel yet it feels light and creamy on the skin. I was concerned that it might be too rich for my combination skin, and worse yet I feared that it would cause me to break out, but thankfully neither turned out to be the case. Instead, what I noticed was that it immediately hydrated my skin, softened the appearance of fine lines, and gave my skin an overall smooth texture. That said, this cream may be a touch too rich and emollient for people with very oily skin, but should provide adequate moisture for people with dry skin. I find that a little bit of product goes a very long way therefore one jar should last a while (at least for people with normal to combination skin) making the higher price less daunting.
