I am a big fan of Eve Lom Skincare, and over the years I have tried a lot of their products, but my favorite in the last few years has undoubtedly been the Eve Lom Rescue Mask. This miracle mask, which long ago achieved cult-status, is a clay-based mask that deep cleans pores, heals break-outs, reduces puffiness and leaves skin unbelievably soft, smooth and luminous. Unlike many clay masks, this one does not dry out or irritate the skin, and in fact it has anti-inflammatory properties that help to reduce inflammation and redness.

It does contain camphor, and therefore if you are allergic or sensitive to this ingredients, then this mask is not for you. That said, while I often find camphor-based skincare products irritating to my skin, and they can cause my eyes to water, that is not the case with this mask. The camphor is neither overpowering, nor it its aroma long-lasting. I faintly detect its scent when I first apply the mask, but once it dries down the aroma dissipates altogether.

Directions:
-Shake the tube well or stir the product in jar with the included spatula.
-Apply a medium to thick layer over clean, dry skin.
-Leave on and relax for around 15 to 20 minutes.
-To remove, gently buff the dry mask with fingertips or use the Eve Lom Muslin Cloth with small, upward circular motions (sold separately).
-Rinse well with tepid water and gently pat to dry.
-This product may be used as an allover mask or spot treatment for targeted blemish control.

Who among us doesn't want to even skin-tone, correct hyperpigmentation and boost luminosity? I have always wanted an ultra hydrating cream that could do all of these things, and that was a true pleasure to use. The moment that I opened up my beautiful jar of Eve Lom Brightening Cream I had very high hopes. The velvety texture coupled with the gorgeous smell of the Rosa Damascena Flower Oil  absolutely took my breath away. Of course, first impressions are of little importance if the product doesn't deliver, but deliver it did (and continues to do).

According to Eve Lom,

While my skin is in great shape, because I take very good care of it, and because I am diligent about wearing sunscreen, I do have some hyperpigmentation from sun damage. This is always a concern living in Southern California, and my long commutes to work often facilitate more sun exposure than I would like. While I do slather on sunscreen, and do what I can to avoid excessive exposure, I do get more than I should.

Eve Lom Brightening Cream is a lightweight and fast absorbing cream that imparts a tremendous amount of moisture and hydration to the skin. It leaves behind no greasy residue, and yet it is emollient enough to function as a wonderful base for finishing products. It leaves my skin scrumptiously soft, supple, hydrated and utterly and indescribably luminous. The combination of the silky texture and gorgeous scent, courtesy of the Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, makes its use an intoxicatingly beautiful tactile and aromatic experience. The aforementioned would have been enough to continually repurchase this cream, but add to it the fact that it helps fade hyperpigmentation, evens skin tone, and gives the skin an overall ethereal glow, and you have one truly lovely and infinitely effective cream.

It is probably worth noting that I am quite picky about my skincare products, and if I don't enjoy using them, or see results quickly enough to be motivated to continue using them, then I tend to cast them aside. It is imperative for me to enjoy the products that I use, otherwise I simply don't want to use them. Life is too short to slather sub-par products on my skin– particularly when there are so many good ones to use. Therefore, when something like Eve Lom Brightening Cream comes along and satisfies both its utilitarian function, and my desire to use products that cause elation in their use– then I know that I will use every drop.

Additionally, as the weather heats up this has become my go-to cream both day and night because of its efficacy, but also because it is not too heavy or too rich for the warmer weather.

April Skincare Lust List | On My Radar

That I am obsessed with high quality skincare products is an understatement to which you are all privy. Despite my large collection, I continually try new and new-to-me products to satisfy my cravings, and to help you determine whether some of these finds will be a good fit for your skincare needs. I cannot sufficiently underscore my belief that high quality skincare stands at the very center of any beauty regimen, and well cared for skin provides the perfect canvas for any makeup that you wear.

Here is the list of my current skincare obsessions:

1) FOREO LUNA ($199.00): As a longtime user of the Clarisonic, I must confess that I have turned my eye toward trying the already iconic FOREO LUNA. It isn't that I am dissatisfied with the results that I have continually gotten from the Clarisonic, but instead it is a function of wanting to try something more efficient, with added functionality, and without a brush head that requires continual replacement. 2) First Aid Beauty Cleanser ($20.00): I tried a few samples of this cleanser, and it was love at first try! It is a super gentle and non-stripping, yet highly effective, cleanser that works well alone or in conjunction with a cleaning device. Can I just say that my dream right now is to use this with the FOREO LUNA!

3) Colbert MD Stimulate The Serum ($154.00): This gorgeous serum has been on my radar for quite a while, and it is something that I definitely want. I first experienced this serum during a Colbert MD Facial, and have had a deluxe sample that I have been using for a while, and I am in love with this stuff! Skin is left soft, supple, luminous and plumped.

4) Verso Super Facial Oil ($195.00): I have not yet tried this oil, but as a woman with a penchant for luxury beauty oils coupled with my new found love of all things Verso, I have to confess that the desire to try this oil is very pronounced!

5) Eve Lom Brightening Cream ($110.00): What a glorious brightening cream that leaves skin luminous, hydrated and positively glowing! This is a wonderful cream to reduce hyperpigmentation and to give skin an overall luminosity.

6) Goldfaden MD Fleuressence Cell Oil ($129.00): I have been using a couple of deluxe samples of this luxury oil, and I have to say that it is among the fastest absorbing and ultra effective oils that I have ever tried. It is such a pleasure to use, and it leaves skin deeply hydrated and ultra radiant.

7) Verso Day Cream ($100.00): I have been using a few deluxe samples of this cream, and have to say that it is gentle and effective. It is non-irritating, yet highly efficient at exfoliating dead skin cells, and leaving skin clear and more luminous! I use it in conjunction with a high SPF sunscreen to keep my skin protected against photosensitivity.

Moisturizing and protecting day cream with Retinol 8 complex. Helps to activate the skin and to stimulate its natural production of collagen, reversing the signs of aging. Empties Post Volume VIII: March 2013

This month I endeavored to use up as many sample packets and lip products as possible. I sought to be pragmatic because I had been down with a nasty cold and wanted to avoid infecting full-sized products. 

Full-Size Products: *Remedy with Phytoplex Hydrating Cleansing Gel (reviewed here). MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator (reviewed here), and *FutureDerm Time Release Retinol 0.50 (reviewed here).

I really loved using the Remedy Hydrating Cleansing Gel for shaving because it left my skin indescribably smooth and soft. I really liked the MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator, and am pleased that it is finally part of their permanent collection, but I probably won't repurchase it since I have other physical exfoliants that I prefer to this one.  FutureDerm Time Release Retinol 0.50 is a highly effective  and gentle retinol-based product. I liked it so much that I opened up the pump bottle and scraped out every last bit. Once I finish using my other retinols- I will definitely purchase another bottle of this great product.

I made it my goal to finish up all of my nearly completely used up lip balms, and it was fairly easy to do for two reasons: 1) each of them had very little left, and 2) I had been sick with that awful cold, and for the most part was unwilling to infect newer lip balms. My disastrously chapped lips were cracked and on the verge of bleeding at the height of my cold, therefore requiring constant reapplication. I felt so satisfied when I realized that I had actually finished up an unprecedented 8 lip balms, but to be fair the contents of these 8 lip balms amounted to no more than 2 full-sized products, and they were used over the period of about 3 weeks. I did scrape out the last bits in order to recycle the packaging- so I really did use every last bit.

Samples Galore: I have continued to work my way through my samples, and I really managed to use up quite a few. I relied upon samples for my cleansers, makeup removers, lotions, serums, masks, cotton pads, scrubs, sunscreen, eye creams, and anything else that I could find to use during that time. The Tatcha Classic Rice Enzyme Powder, Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water Cloths, and The Organic Pharmacy serums all rank amongst my favorites- and I have full sizes of each that I covet!

Makeup: MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer. I have had this concealer for so long that if I hadn't finished it I would have tossed it. I liked it a good deal, but was ready to move on to the next thing once I made my way to the bottom of the tube.

Eve Lom Kiss Mix Review

Eve Lom Kiss Mix is a wonderful lip treatment that hovers somewhere between a lip balm and a lip gloss with respect to its texture, thickness and sheen. It's a rich glossy treatment product that protects and heals chapped lips, but looks fabulous at the same time!  The texture is thick and slightly tacky to the touch and appears almost white in the little pot, but on the lips it's just a slightly milky sheen. The smell and taste is a nearly medicinal menthol as opposed to a distinct peppermint flavor that one finds in so many lip balms. It feels wonderful on the lips, and does a very good job keeping them moisturized. The menthol gives the lips a slight tingle, but not a painful type of tingle that one associates with aggressive lip lumping products. I find that it has a slight lip plumping effect on me though this is not among the product claims made- but it is certainly a nice byproduct! I love the way this product looks, feels, tastes, and how effectively it heals my chapped lips. Not only is Kiss Mix nice to wear on its own, but it is also lovely on top of lipstick- it just adds such a wonderful and moisturizing sheen.

According to Eve Lom, Lips should always look luscious and kissable, but they can easily become dry, even chapped. With its moisturising and healing ingredients, Kiss Mix is an absolute must for everybody.

It is a year-round product as it keeps lips moisturised and protected from UV rays in summer and biting winds in winter. Lips love Kiss Mix.
